The Villain Turned Out to Be a Scummy Omega? [GL] - Chapter 18
Xie Muqing’s party was held on the middle floors of a skyscraper, with rooms arranged upstairs for guests to rest. She had even hired a popular band to perform, and the atmosphere reached its peak the moment the band took the stage.
Song Ziqing sat on a nearby sofa, feeling like she was truly getting a taste of high society. There were many faces she recognized from television renowned screenwriters, rising idols, and variety show stars.
“Yu Nian is so handsome!” a girl beside her shrieked, completely abandoning her socialite poise.
The “Yu Nian” she was screaming about was the leader and lead singer of the trending band Winter (also known as the Wa band).
Yu Nian wore black trousers and a white shirt, her long wavy hair looking incredibly charming. With a guitar slung over her shoulder, she played and sang with a cool, effortless grace that made it impossible to look away.
Song Ziqing stared intently. The singer’s proportions were perfect—long legs, a striking height, and an aura that blended casual freedom with a magnetic pull. Even the wind seemed to favor her, tousling the hair on her forehead and making her look like a solitary, captivating beauty standing apart from the world.
Yu Nian pulled the microphone from its stand. Perhaps because the shriek from the girl nearby was too loud to ignore, her gaze swept over. She gave a faint smile, but when her eyes landed on Song Ziqing, they lingered for a heartbeat, a sharp glint flickering in her pupils.
Song Ziqing looked toward the entrance. Lu Qinnian had clearly arrived with her, but she had vanished in the blink of an eye, and no one knew where she’d gone. Xie Muqing, meanwhile, was busy attending to the guests.
The guests sipped their drinks and swayed to the music. As Song Ziqing moved her body to the rhythm, Xie Muqing watched her from across the room. She leaned over to a nearby server, whispered a few words, and the server nodded before retreating.
When the band finished their set, Xie Muqing clapped her hands and stepped onto the stage. “And now, let’s have our very own Qingqing perform a dance for everyone!”
Song Ziqing was startled by the sudden call-out. In the original novel’s setting, Song Ziqing was a top-tier party queen who could dance at the drop of a hat. Fortunately, the current Song Ziqing knew a bit of dance herself, otherwise, she would have been in trouble.
As Song Ziqing gave an awkward laugh, Xie Muqing nudged her further. “Qingqing, come on, get up here!”
The crowd began to cheer and jeer. Yu Nian, holding a drink, looked over with curiosity. Out of everyone at the party, she had been attracted to this person at first sight. So her name is Qingqing, Yu Nian thought, a gentle smile appearing on her face.
Yan Hui, who had just returned from a brief absence, looked at Song Ziqing and then at the pressuring Xie Muqing on stage. She immediately guessed that Xie Muqing was up to no good.
She walked past Song Ziqing and whispered, “You can find an excuse to refuse.”
Song Ziqing looked confused, but the people around her were already pulling her up. “Come on, Qingqing!”
Left with no choice, Song Ziqing walked toward the center of the stage. She wore a brilliant red sequined slip dress that reached her ankles; with every step, her silhouette swayed alluringly, as captivating as a watercolor painting.
Her long hair was half-tied back, with a few stray locks draped over her shoulders, adding a touch of softness to her look.
Yan Hui sat down at a table near the stage, her eyes burning with appreciation as she watched this moving portrait.
A server brought out champagne, and Xie Muqing handed a glass to Song Ziqing. “A toast to Qingqing. Thank you for helping me liven up the atmosphere.”
Without thinking, Song Ziqing took the glass and drained it. Xie Muqing smiled as gently as a docile rabbit, took the empty glass back, and cleared the stage.
As the rhythmic, high-energy music began, Song Ziqing raised her arms and stepped out. She began a sultry, high-energy dance that drew screams loud enough to blow the roof off the building.
Yan Hui sat stunned, her mouth slightly agape as she watched Song Ziqing, who was barely five or six steps away. It took her a long time to recover, and she took a dry-throated gulp of her drink.
Yu Nian was equally mesmerized. She stared at the moving body on stage, swallowed hard, and asked the person beside her, “Who is she?”
The person next to her, staring just as intently, replied wistfully, “Song Ziqing. She’s a foster child of the Lu family. Her mother is best friends with Mother Lu, so she’s been there since she was a child. The Lus treat her like their own; she’s effectively their little princess.”
Yu Nian glanced at her companion. The Lu family… they were certainly not people to be trifled with. She felt a pang of disappointment; she wouldn’t dare provoke anyone from that family. Moreover, if she lived with the Lus, she was likely an Alpha. She hadn’t expected that as a fellow Alpha, she wouldn’t feel any hostility toward the girl, but rather an attraction she couldn’t break.
Song Ziqing was simply too captivating. Yu Nian scanned the room; she was certain most of the Alphas tonight felt the same regret the regret that Song Ziqing wasn’t an Omega.
Song Ziqing had spent time in nightlife scenes before, so a spicy dance was well within her capabilities. A bit of leg revealed through the slit of her dress was enough to make the crowd scream with excitement.
But something felt wrong today. She felt her whole body heating up. Even if she wasn’t used to being stared at by so many beautiful people, surely she shouldn’t be this hot or have a racing heart?
She grew uneasy, but the dance didn’t stop. Her slender waist twisted, revealing her sexy curves and causing Yan Hui to swallow repeatedly.
Yan Hui gripped her glass tightly, wishing she could take the person on stage back to her room right then and there.
Xie Muqing watched the rowdy party, then looked at the girl on stage whose face was flushed crimson. She stood with her arms folded, holding a drink and sneering coldly. The drink she had ordered the server to deliver was spiked with something else—a stimulant designed to force the body into a rapid heat.
Song Ziqing’s head began to spin. Lacking experience, she didn’t realize she was entering a heat cycle. As she danced, her pheromones began to slowly leak out.
Because of the heat, her movements became even more fluid and alluring. Within moments, someone noticed something was wrong. Almost simultaneously, those top-tier pheromones erupted with an aggressive intensity. Song Ziqing stumbled, clutching her forehead, her legs feeling too weak to support her.
The pheromones of a top-tier Omega are terrifying. They can dull a person’s reason and trigger an Alpha’s pheromones, drawing them closer by pure instinct.
“She…” someone started, “She’s not an Alpha?”
“She’s an Omega!”
Song Ziqing’s pheromones instantly flooded the entire party. A faint rose fragrance mingled with the aroma of fruit wine—alcohol, fruit, and mysterious floral notes blended together. The dense scent made the hair on the back of the Alphas’ necks stand up. Some low-level Alphas were already losing control.
Meanwhile, the other Omegas in the room felt an instinctive, repulsed wave of jealousy.
Yu Nian’s brow furrowed, her eyes filled with a scorching heat. “A top-tier Omega… she’s a masterpiece.”
Yan Hui forced herself to stay lucid and rushed forward, pulling Song Ziqing into her arms. She shot a look at Xie Muqing—who was currently stunned by the revelation that Song Ziqing was actually a top-tier Omega and hurriedly led the girl out of the party.
Song Ziqing leaned against Yan Hui’s shoulder in a daze, her face flushed red. Her moist, crimson lips were slightly parted as she panted for air.
Watching her, Yan Hui couldn’t help but swallow hard. She gave a wry, melancholy smile. “Don’t you have any sense of caution? You just eat and drink whatever is put in front of you?”
Song Ziqing didn’t hear a word. Xie Muqing’s “drink” was too strong. She simply rubbed her head against Yan Hui’s shoulder instinctively, leaning closer to inhale the faint Alpha pheromones as if they could soothe the fire in her body.
The contact made Yan Hui feel like she was losing her own soul. The high-quality Alpha pheromones she was emitting finally calmed Song Ziqing a little. The girl opened her eyes, gasping for breath as she clutched Yan Hui’s shoulder. Her voice trembled: “Yan Hui… you smell so good…”
Yan Hui’s heart hammered. She looked at the person in her arms and then at the elevator ahead. She feared she wouldn’t even make it to the lift before she lost control and laid a hand on her.
Song Ziqing buried her face in the crook of Yan Hui’s neck, greedily inhaling her scent. It seemed like the only thing that could keep her calm, even as her body—feeling like it was covered in crawling ants clung limply to the other woman.
Yan Hui suppressed her urges with what little logic she had left. However, the scent of the pheromones wasn’t enough for Song Ziqing; she kept rubbing against her, seeking more.
Yan Hui’s footsteps felt light. She swallowed and looked at the elevator, her voice turning raspy. “Qingqing, if you keep doing this, I’m going to go crazy.”
Song Ziqing’s mind was a chaotic mess. She just kept nuzzling against Yan Hui like a puppy looking for food.
Yan Hui tightened her grip on the girl’s soft waist, her hand trembling as she stroked the head resting on her neck. She lowered her head to kiss the girl’s hair and reached out to press the elevator button.
The elevator happened to be right there. When the doors slid open, Lu Qinnian was standing inside. Dressed in all black with her long hair draped over her shoulders and one hand in her pocket, she stood tall. When she saw the person in Yan Hui’s arms, her eyes darkened, revealing a terrifying depth.
