The Villain Has A Yuri Halo [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 14
Tang Qingqing was an easy person to placate. After hearing Li Ju’s awkward apology, she puffed out her cheeks and buried her face in Li Ju’s embrace. Before Li Ju could react, she wrapped her arms around her waist. The entire sequence of movements felt like something she had done a thousand times, without any trace of clumsiness.
Li Ju was stunned by the sudden weight in her arms, blinking in confusion. The scene was unbelievable. How could Tang Qingqing go from crying to being so clingy? Li Ju was frozen solid, none of her earlier teasing confidence remaining. “We can argue all we want, but why are you so close? Are you going to wipe your tears on me?”
Tang Qingqing went silent, speechless and a little aggrieved. How can a person be so clueless?
Li Ju was unaware of Tang Qingqing’s inner thoughts. She poked her shoulder, but remembering Tang Qingqing’s tears, her poke was more like a tickle. She was afraid of using too much force and making her cry again, as she still had no idea why Tang Qingqing had cried in the first place. “Hey, did you lose your voice? I’m talking to you.”
Tang Qingqing nestled her face against Li Ju’s neck, her warm breath making Li Ju even more rigid. She took a moment to admire Li Ju’s beauty: exquisite, charming, with porcelain skin and red lips that made her look incredibly alluring. “You hit my bottom, Little Ju,” she said softly. “Is it too much to ask to cry in your arms for a little while?”
Li Ju retorted, “Don’t make me sound like a criminal! You lied to me about being bullied, so I can’t even teach you a lesson? It was just a little slap on the bottom. If I had actually broken your legs, wouldn’t you hate me?” She shifted a little to make herself more comfortable, as a person in her arms meant extra weight. Li Ju looked down at Tang Qingqing, hoping she’d take a hint and stop clinging to her.
But when her eyes met Tang Qingqing’s reddened ones, a flicker of genuine pity appeared on her face. In her heart, she was more convinced than ever that Tang Qingqing was a handful. She had bullied her so many times before and never once seen her cry. But now? A little tap on the bottom, and she’s shedding crocodile tears. It’s not like she hit her hard!
She impatiently wiped the tears from Tang Qingqing’s cheeks, grumbling, “I was right when I said you’re a sensitive one.”
Tang Qingqing stared at her blankly, her face still warm from Li Ju’s touch. She hadn’t expected her to wipe away her tears. This small gesture made Tang Qingqing’s heart bloom. She felt like she had touched Li Ju’s heart, that in this moment, she was special.
“You won’t,” she said.
Li Ju didn’t understand the sudden non sequitur. “What?” she asked.
Tang Qingqing looped her arms around Li Ju’s neck and slowly leaned in, as if she was about to kiss her lips. Li Ju froze, a feeling she had never experienced before. A hint of embarrassment showed in her eyes. But would she surrender? Not her.
Li Ju became defiant. Surrender? Never. So what if a woman is in my arms? This woman is intentionally getting close to me. She’s the one who should be embarrassed, not me. What do I have to be afraid of? With this thought, Li Ju relaxed. She let go of her rigid posture and leaned back lazily against the seat. With the sudden shift, Tang Qingqing lost her footing and tumbled forward. In a flash, her warm lips landed on Li Ju’s right cheek. Their eyes met.
[Wow! So the dramas were right!]
[Must remember this! Must record this!]
[She’s the first person to ever kiss the Host! So cool!]
System 666’s chatter made Li Ju’s face flush. She felt dizzy, like she’d been drinking. She had no idea what to do next.
“Are… are you done kissing me?”
Tang Qingqing’s face was even redder than Li Ju’s, but her eyes held a greedy glint that Li Ju’s lacked. She slowly sat up. Seeing Li Ju’s shy expression, Tang Qingqing’s heart felt a pang. It wasn’t bitterness, but a sense of calm after an intense moment of joy. This was a rare sight indeed. Perhaps it meant that she wasn’t a stone, and in the future, she could be warmed up. Tang Qingqing licked her lips, savoring the flavor. Her eyes crinkled with a sweet and lovely smile.
“What’s with that expression?” Li Ju bristled. Tang Qingqing’s expression told her she was savoring the moment. Tang Qingqing tilted her head innocently, as if she didn’t understand. “What about me?” she asked.
Li Ju said with an indignant huff, “You’re savoring it!”
Tang Qingqing chuckled. “It’s my first time kissing a woman. It’s worth savoring.”
“As if it’s not the same for me! But I’m not savoring anything!”
Tang Qingqing’s smile became sorrowful. “That’s because you don’t care about me, Little Ju.”
Those words revealed Tang Qingqing’s inner thoughts, and Li Ju, who had a million things to complain about, was rendered speechless. This one sentence defeated her completely. The always-righteous Li Ju frowned, surprised that she could feel guilty. What is going on?
Li Ju pushed on her shoulders with her arms to keep a safe distance between them. As for the fact that Tang Qingqing was still on her lap, Li Ju didn’t care anymore. Compared to being kissed, it was a minor issue. She pursed her lips and asked again, “You still haven’t explained what you meant by what you said before.”
Tang Qingqing slowly moved closer, the barrier of Li Ju’s arms doing nothing to stop her. She pulled Li Ju’s arms down and hugged them to her chest, leaning back into Li Ju. Her voice was languid. “When I said you wouldn’t, I meant you wouldn’t break my legs, Little Ju.” The clingy woman was like a spoiled cat, soft and pliable.
Li Ju thought that human adaptability was amazing. She was shocked a moment ago, but now a new thought popped into her head: She’s so warm to hold.
Li Ju scoffed. “You’re wrong.”
Tang Qingqing smiled. She rarely defied Li Ju, but this was the first time she was sticking to her guns. “I’m not wrong. You wouldn’t. You can’t bear to.”
“…”
Silence was sometimes the best answer. After a while, Li Ju held Tang Qingqing’s face in her hands. Their eyes met. The woman’s lips curled into a merciless smile. “I’ll give you three seconds. Now please get off.”
Look how polite she is, Li Ju thought, using the word “please.”
Tang Qingqing nodded with a stifled laugh. “Okay, no problem.” She really wanted to tell Li Ju something, to not be so awkward, because she was so cute like this, but Tang Qingqing didn’t dare.
******
The two of them went home together. When Tang Qingqing saw Li Zhen on the sofa, she politely called out, “Dad.” Their arrival made Li Zhen laugh. “The sun must have risen from the west. You two are home at the same time.”
“Dad, I’m the one who bothered Little Ju today. I made her go all the way to pick me up.”
Li Zhen was a refined middle-aged man, with a scholarly look behind his glasses. He had no prejudice against Tang Qingqing. Even though she was his problematic wife’s adopted daughter, in his heart, she was a sensible young woman, his daughter.
Li Ju scoffed and bumped into Tang Qingqing as she walked by. Tang Qingqing just smiled and said, “Be careful.”
Li Ju raised her chin, ordering her, “Go get me a glass of water.”
“Okay.”
“Li Ju!” Her father’s stern voice didn’t faze her. She just sat down next to him with a smile. “Oh, don’t yell so loud. Your daughter’s ears are fine.”
Tang Qingqing quickly added, “Dad, I’ll get you a glass of water, too.”
Li Zhen watched her leave. “Little Ju, how many times have I told you? That’s your family, not your servant!”
“We’re both willing, so just stop nagging. Why are you home today?”
Li Zhen looked at his daughter and said in a deep voice, “It’s because of you. I know about the conversation you had with your grandma in the study the other day. You don’t have to get married for the family. My daughter doesn’t need to take that step.”
Li Ju smiled and nodded obediently. “But you also can’t have a relationship with that poor boy.”
Li Zhen knew about Gao Sheng. Li Ju wasn’t surprised. She teased, “Dad, I can’t do that.”
Gao Sheng meant points, and Li Ju was still waiting to finish the plot so she could log off.
Suddenly, a crashing sound. Tang Qingqing had dropped the glass. Li Ju turned around and read the disappointment and shock in Tang Qingqing’s eyes. She frowned and got up to help Tang Qingqing clean up. “Did you slip? How clumsy.” She tried to take Tang Qingqing’s hand, gesturing for her to leave.
But Tang Qingqing pulled her hand away. Li Ju’s breathing stopped.
Was she just rejected?
