The Ultra-Alpha School Hunk Has Transmigrated into a Cannon Fodder Omega! - Chapter 18
The first month of school was Safety Education Month, and the school organized for every grade to go to the auditorium to watch safety documentaries. When Xu Lei announced this news, the entire class erupted in excitement. Although safety documentaries were boring, they were still better than attending “The Terror” Liu Qi’s class.
Xu Lei was in no hurry to maintain discipline. He waited for everyone to finish celebrating before saying cheerfully, “For the last period this afternoon, the class monitor will organize everyone. Remember to keep quiet after arriving at the venue and line up to enter.” After speaking, he picked up his large tea mug and left.
The class remained restless. Even while lining up to enter the venue, everyone continued to play around in small groups. A cold gust of wind blew by, and Ji Cenzhou sneezed.
Seeing this, White Feather handed him a tissue and asked with concern, “Are you alright? Your cold seems quite serious. Maybe you should ask for leave and go back to rest.”
Ji Cenzhou rubbed his nose until it was red. He shook his head, his voice sounding soft and nasal due to his congestion. “It is fine. I am already here. It is not a big deal; I will be better in a while.”
A cold front had recently arrived, causing the temperature to drop by several degrees. Ji Cenzhou had failed to change his clothes in time and fell ill. White Feather pressed further, “Have you taken any medicine?”
Ji Cenzhou shook his head. “For such a minor illness, there is no need for medicine.”
White Feather sighed. When Ji Cenzhou was stubborn, he was truly stubborn; he would not listen no matter what anyone said. With no other choice, White Feather said, “Stand over here; this spot is shielded from the wind. Wait a bit longer; it will be warmer once we get inside.”
Ji Cenzhou sneezed again and nodded. He had only been sneezing at first, but now his symptoms were getting worse. He felt lightheaded and his body ached; he planned to have a good sleep once they were inside.
Finally, it was their turn to enter. Their seats were in the third row from the back. Students who were close to each other huddled together, and some even brought playing cards, preparing to play secretly later. Once Ji Cenzhou sat down, he closed his eyes to rest. Fearing that talking would disturb him, White Feather quietly played on his phone.
The following classes were still entering, and the venue was very noisy. Ji Cenzhou could not fall asleep, so he could only close his eyes to rest his mind. After an unknown amount of time, the venue gradually quieted down. In his daze, Ji Cenzhou heard a voice ask, “What is wrong with him?”
Ji Cenzhou opened his eyes and saw Jiang Mosen asking White Feather across him. Seeing that he was awake, White Feather asked, “Do you feel any better?”
Jiang Mosen frowned and said, “I told you this morning to go to the infirmary. Did you go?”
Ji Cenzhou replied nonchalantly, “It is fine. It is just a minor illness; there is no need to go to the infirmary.” Jiang Mosen frowned but said nothing more. White Feather watched from the side, dumbfounded. Since when did these two become so close?
The safety film began to play, and all the lights in the auditorium went out. Ji Cenzhou adjusted his position and fell asleep nestled in his chair.
Jiang Mosen did not watch the documentary either. As he was resting with his eyes closed, he suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder. He opened his eyes and saw that Ji Cenzhou had fallen asleep leaning against his shoulder.
He looked down at Ji Cenzhou. Because of his blocked nose, the latter’s small mouth was slightly open, taking small breaths. From this angle, he could see Ji Cenzhou’s eyelashes resting on his eyes like black swans. Jiang Mosen sighed and turned his head away without moving his shoulder.
After White Feather finished chatting with a nearby classmate, he turned around and was startled to see Ji Cenzhou resting on Jiang Mosen’s shoulder. He was terrified that Jiang Mosen might impulsively push Ji Cenzhou to the ground. He hurried to move Ji Cenzhou to his own shoulder, but before he could touch him, he was pinned in place by a single glance from Jiang Mosen.
“Do not move him,” Jiang Mosen said silently, mouthing the words to White Feather. White Feather did not react immediately and simply nodded blankly.
“Do me a favor,” Jiang Mosen mouthed again. White Feather nodded quickly.
“Help me cover Ji Cenzhou with the jacket hanging on the back of the chair.”
White Feather saw the denim jacket on the back of the seat. He picked it up gently and draped it over Ji Cenzhou. Ji Cenzhou moved slightly, rubbing his head against Jiang Mosen’s shoulder. Perhaps having found a comfortable position, his furrowed brows relaxed. Jiang Mosen kept his head down, watching Ji Cenzhou, and only mouthed a “thank you” to White Feather once the latter had fallen back into a deep sleep.
White Feather remained in a daze. His intuition told him something was wrong, but he could not put his finger on it. After watching the documentary blankly for a while, it finally dawned on him: Jiang Mosen’s attitude toward Ji Cenzhou was incredibly kind. He stole a glance out of the corner of his eye and saw Jiang Mosen looking at Ji Cenzhou with a frown. Ji Cenzhou was a restless sleeper, and his fluffy hair was making Jiang Mosen itchy. Jiang Mosen gently smoothed Ji Cenzhou’s hair and even gave his head a little stroke before turning back to watch the documentary with a normal expression.
White Feather thought to himself: Heaven help me, I think I have discovered a shocking secret!
It was not until the documentary was almost over that Ji Cenzhou woke up. He gave a bleary-eyed yawn and only then realized he was leaning on Jiang Mosen’s shoulder. While rubbing his eyes, he asked Jiang Mosen, “How long have I been leaning on your shoulder?”
Jiang Mosen replied, “Not long.”
Despite the answer, Ji Cenzhou reached out to massage Jiang Mosen’s shoulder, saying dizzily, “Thanks for the hard work. Brother, you are truly a loyal friend.”
Hearing this, White Feather looked at Ji Cenzhou with an indescribable expression, thinking to himself: Are you perhaps a total idiot?
As it turned out, Ji Cenzhou lived up to that title. He asked Jiang Mosen heartlessly, “Was the safety film good?”
Jiang Mosen replied, “It was alright.”
Ji Cenzhou said with a hint of regret, “Then did I not miss out by not seeing it?”
Jiang Mosen casually smoothed down Ji Cenzhou’s messy hair from sleep. “If you want to watch it, I can send you the title when we get back.”
Ji Cenzhou thought about it seriously and said, “Actually, forget it. I would rather spend that time sleeping.” White Feather could hardly bear to watch any longer. He turned his head away, deciding that what the eye does not see, the heart does not grieve over.
On the way back, White Feather tentatively asked about his relationship with Jiang Mosen. Ji Cenzhou’s attitude was very open. “We are good brothers.”
White Feather thought: Ji Cenzhou, you idiot!
Seeing White Feather’s face full of indignation and a hint of “hating that the iron cannot become steel” (frustration at someone’s failure to live up to potential), Ji Cenzhou asked, “What is wrong?”
White Feather gave a fake smile. “I just feel that you truly do not realize how blessed you are.”
When Jiang Mosen first entered the school in his first year, he had caught the attention of every student. Eight out of ten Omegas wanted to date him. However, Jiang Mosen was impenetrable and rejected every advance. Gradually, people stopped confessing to him, but there were always people sighing behind his back, wondering what kind of extraordinary Omega it would take to make Jiang Mosen fall in love.
As it stood, White Feather did not know if Ji Cenzhou was extraordinary, but he certainly knew that Ji Cenzhou was “slow.” An Alpha usually has a strong sense of possessiveness over their Omega, but Jiang Mosen showed no reaction to Ji Cenzhou laughing and playing with other students. It did not look like he liked Ji Cenzhou at all. White Feather thought about it until his head ached but still could not find an answer, so he simply gave up.
