The Ultra-Alpha School Hunk Has Transmigrated into a Cannon Fodder Omega! - Chapter 17
Jiang Mosen watched the car drive away before taking out his phone to send a text to the doctor. The doctor called back almost immediately.
“Young Master Jiang,” the doctor said, “you do not need to text to confirm if I am resting anymore. My nightlife is only just beginning at this hour.”
Jiang Mosen let out a short laugh. “Doctor, I remember you told me that once pheromones are exchanged, I will be able to smell the other person’s scent constantly, even if they use anti-leakage products, correct?”
“Yes,” the doctor replied, “provided that a sufficient amount of pheromones was exchanged.”
“Is a temporary mark sufficient?” Jiang Mosen asked.
The doctor paused, thinking to himself that Jiang Mosen’s progress was remarkably fast. However, he maintained his professional tone. “If it was a complete temporary marking, then yes, it is sufficient.”
“I see,” Jiang Mosen murmured. “But why can I not smell his pheromones yet?”
The doctor smiled. “Do not be anxious. It takes an entire night for a temporary mark to fully integrate. When you see that Omega tomorrow morning, you will be able to smell him. If conditions allow, you should stay as close to him as possible. While you can sense him from a distance, a higher concentration of pheromones leads to better therapeutic results.”
Jiang Mosen hesitated before asking, “Is there a possibility of a full recovery for me?”
“Medically speaking, it is entirely possible. You must maintain an optimistic mindset. I believe you will recover soon.”
Jiang Mosen smiled and hung up the phone as he boarded the car headed home.
Monday Morning
Ji Cenzhou arrived at the classroom early. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Jiang Mosen had not arrived yet. He had intended to thank Jiang Mosen properly this morning, but that plan had died an early death.
The reason was simple: he had remembered everything that happened the previous night.
He remembered crying and begging Jiang Mosen for pheromones. He remembered nuzzling into Jiang Mosen’s arms and leaning toward his neck. Most importantly, he remembered that he had actually bitten him!
“I can’t live like this!” Ji Cenzhou lamented internally. He recalled biting down quite hard. It had been too dark to see if he had left a mark, but if there was a visible bruise, Jiang Mosen would likely want to kill him.
As soon as Jiang Mosen entered the classroom, he caught a faint scent of monthly roses. It was elegant, refreshing, and carried a honey-like sweetness. He looked at Ji Cenzhou and noticed the boy keeping his head down. Only after Jiang Mosen sat down did Ji Cenzhou look up, appearing somewhat relieved.
He is avoiding me, Jiang Mosen concluded instantly. He was not in a hurry, however; he decided to give Ji Cenzhou time to process his thoughts.
The student sitting behind Jiang Mosen was currently questioning his own reality. The summer school uniform was a crew-neck T-shirt, and since Jiang Mosen’s hair was short, the student could clearly see what looked like a bite mark on Jiang Mosen’s scent gland.
“Good grief! The Big Boss was actually bitten by an Omega, and that Omega has a strong set of teeth!” the student thought.
He could not help but point it out to his seatmate. The seatmate rubbed his eyes and whispered hesitantly, “Is something wrong with my eyes? Why do I see a bite mark on the Boss’s gland?”
The student behind Jiang Mosen quickly covered his friend’s mouth, but it was too late. It was the quiet period after morning self-study, and the entire classroom heard the remark. Everyone’s eyes lit up like hungry wolves. The room was suddenly filled with the metaphorical “scent of gossip.”
Jiang Mosen was napping on his desk, so no one dared to speak aloud. Instead, they swarmed the class group chat to discuss the scandal.
“!!!!!! It really is a bite mark.”
“My heart is broken! Which vixen Omega stole my husband?”
“The person above, please do not post anonymously while acting so thirsty.”
“That Omega is quite… impressive. They actually managed to leave a mark on the Boss.”
“You guys are missing the point. Why would an Omega bite him there? Could it be…”
“Stop right there! I’ve already written an 800-word fanfic in my head. The rating is so high I should call the police.”
Within minutes, the chat had over a hundred new messages. Amidst the chaos, a weak anonymous message appeared: “Um… have you all forgotten that Big Boss Jiang is also in this group?”
The chat went deathly silent. Jiang Mosen never posted, so everyone had forgotten his presence. Those who had posted under their real names felt like crying, while those using anonymous tags tried to stay calm, messaging, “Don’t worry, the Boss never checks the chat.”
The next second, they were proven wrong.
Jiang: “I do check it. Thank you.”
The entire class: “…”
The group chat stayed silent for the rest of the day as if it had never existed. However, news travels fast. By the time Ji Cenzhou heard there was “big news” in the class chat, he hurried to check the school forum. The top headlines were:
-
- [SHOCK! Big Boss Jiang was bitten by an Omega! Is this a distortion of humanity or a moral decline?]
-
- [Men weep and women wail! The Idol’s chastity is gone! Which Omega committed this heinous crime?]
-
- [The Domineering Little Wife: Don’t Run, Cold Campus Prince.]
Ji Cenzhou’s face turned from green to white.
“What is wrong?” Bai Yu asked, noticing his expression.
“Nothing,” Ji Cenzhou said with difficulty. It was painful to realize the gossip everyone was enjoying was actually about himself.
Bai Yu continued, “Tsk, tsk. That Omega is really fierce. Their possessiveness rivals that of an Alpha. I sneaked a look at the Boss’s neck; the bite mark is quite deep.”
Ji Cenzhou tried to explain, “Maybe everyone is misunderstanding. Perhaps that Omega didn’t want to bite him. Maybe they had… some kind of hidden difficulty.”
“What kind of hidden difficulty?” Bai Yu asked.
Ji Cenzhou was stumped. He stuttered for a while before saying, “I… I am not entirely sure.”
Feeling immense guilt, Ji Cenzhou did not dare to look at Jiang Mosen. Every time he saw him, he would turn and run the other way. He avoided him for several days.
Jiang Mosen eventually realized what was happening. After Wang Hao accidentally let a comment slip, Jiang Mosen finally understood why Ji Cenzhou was hiding. He hadn’t expected the boy to be so thin-skinned.
While Jiang Mosen didn’t care about the rumors, he decided to clear the air for Ji Cenzhou’s sake. He explained to Wang Hao, “That wasn’t a mark from an Omega. My young nephew fell asleep on my back and bit me while he was dreaming.”
Wang Hao was enlightened. “I knew it! You don’t seem like the type to have an Omega yet. Don’t worry, Boss. Leave the clarification to me. I guarantee the rumors will be gone by the time school ends today.”
Wang Hao was a social butterfly, and thanks to his efforts, the rumors vanished quickly.
After school, Ji Cenzhou and Jiang Mosen stayed behind for cleaning duty. When Ji Cenzhou returned from taking out the trash, Jiang Mosen blocked his path in the stairwell.
With his hands in his pockets, Jiang Mosen leaned against the wall and smiled. “Are you still avoiding me?”
“I’m not,” Ji Cenzhou said unnaturally. “I just… felt a little…” He couldn’t bring himself to say the word “embarrassed.” A cool campus boss like himself shouldn’t feel such an emotion.
Jiang Mosen looked down at him. Ji Cenzhou’s ears were flushed red, and his long eyelashes curved over his downcast eyes. He looked surprisingly obedient, a far cry from his usual bold personality.
Jiang Mosen recalled their first meeting—Ji Cenzhou had been a shadow of a person then, hiding his eyes behind his hair. Now, he was full of surprises. Jiang Mosen found himself looking forward to what Ji Cenzhou would do next.
Seeing that Jiang Mosen was silent, Ji Cenzhou looked up and caught him smiling. He was momentarily dazed. He is so handsome, he thought. As expected of the protagonist.
Jiang Mosen noticed the strange look on his face. “What are you looking at?”
Ji Cenzhou grew defensive. “Nothing! Why are you blocking my way?”
Jiang Mosen chuckled. “If you didn’t run away from me, I wouldn’t have to block you. I feel quite wronged. I did a good deed and ended up being isolated.”
Ji Cenzhou realized he had been a bit ungrateful. “I was just afraid of bringing you trouble. Don’t think too much of it. We are… good brothers. I won’t avoid you anymore.” To prove his point, he slapped Jiang Mosen on the shoulder with the bravado of a sworn brother.
Jiang Mosen looked at his shoulder and laughed. “Alright. We are ‘good brothers.'”
