The wages were settled daily. Ji Cenzhou took his 900 yuan and let out a silent sigh. In the past, his monthly pocket money was more than ten times this amount. Now, he had to work himself to exhaustion just to earn this small sum.

Ji Cenzhou went backstage and poured makeup remover over his face. The ladies backstage were stunned by his rough movements. One young woman who had already finished her own makeup took the bottle from him and helped him clean his face properly.

Because Ji Cenzhou was young, cute, and clever, he had become close with the women working there within a few days. They now looked at him no differently than they would a younger brother.

After changing into his own clothes, Ji Cenzhou exited through the back door of the bar. The moment his hand touched the doorknob, he shivered from the intense cold. He found it strange since it was only September. How could it be this freezing?

After a long time, or perhaps only a few minutes, the cold receded slightly. Ji Cenzhou regained some of his senses. He leaned against the wall and moved toward the main road. He could not allow himself to faint in a place like this.

He had only walked a few steps when he crashed into a warm embrace.

“Ji Cenzhou, what is wrong with you?” the person asked.

That warmth felt like a final lifeline to Ji Cenzhou. He pressed himself desperately into the person’s arms, seeking more heat, and lifted his head to try and see the person’s face.

Jiang Mosen looked down and saw that the person in his arms was in a very bad state. He tried to pull him away to ask what was wrong, but as soon as he applied pressure, Ji Cenzhou sensed his intention. He squeezed even tighter into the embrace. Caught off guard, Jiang Mosen was pushed back a step until his back hit the wall.

Only when he felt Jiang Mosen stop moving did Ji Cenzhou relax his grip slightly.

With a tense Ji Cenzhou in his arms and an immovable wall at his back, Jiang Mosen sighed and gave up the struggle. Seeing Ji Cenzhou’s poor mental state, he tentatively patted his back to soothe him.

The moment Ji Cenzhou felt Jiang Mosen’s touch, he jerked his head up. He looked at Jiang Mosen with a dazed expression, staring for a long time until he finally recognized him.

Jiang Mosen could not bear Ji Cenzhou rubbing against him like that. He reached up to hold his head still and said in a hoarse voice, “Stop moving.”

Jiang Mosen’s muscles tensed instantly. He reached out and pulled Ji Cenzhou away. Having been rejected, Ji Cenzhou felt a sudden surge of grievance.

Jiang Mosen took a breath and asked, “Ji Cenzhou, what is really going on with you?”

Ji Cenzhou did not speak for a long time. When he finally looked up, his face was covered in tears. He looked at Jiang Mosen with an accusing, hurt expression and whispered, “I feel terrible.”

Jiang Mosen was stunned by the tears. When Ji Cenzhou stood on his tiptoes again to approach his neck, he failed to react in time. Suddenly, he felt a warm, wet sensation as Ji Cenzhou licked him.

Jiang Mosen frowned. “What is wrong with you? Is your heat starting?”

However, aside from being clingy, Ji Cenzhou showed no other symptoms. Ji Cenzhou blinked, and large teardrops fell again. He sobbed while speaking.

Everything spiraled out of control. Jiang Mosen’s canines pierced the fragile gland. The fragrance of roses intensified instantly. If one looked closely, there was also a hint of minty liquor in the air, creating a crispness within the rich floral scent.

Ji Cenzhou was trembling. If Jiang Mosen had not been holding his waist, he would have collapsed. It was too deep and too painful. He felt as if he were being held entirely in someone else’s palm.

“What is this illness of yours?” Jiang Mosen asked as Ji Cenzhou’s expression softened.

Ji Cenzhou took his medical record from his backpack and handed it to him. “See for yourself.”

Ji Cenzhou nodded. Jiang Mosen remembered what the doctor had told him about exchanging pheromones to treat his own condition. He asked tentatively, “So every time you have an episode, you need me to…”

“Stop,” Ji Cenzhou interrupted. “My heat came early this time, so I wasn’t prepared. Next time, I will definitely have synthetic Alpha pheromones ready.”
