- The System Wants Me To Save A Lucky Tycoon [Quick Transmigration]
- Chapter 10 - The Tycoon with a Mental Illness (10)
Lin Junqing was so infuriated by Xie Lin’s shameless behavior that he felt like vomiting blood. He pushed Xie Lin’s face away with all his might and took deep breaths, trying to calm down. If he did not regain his composure, he feared he might lose control and try to perish together with Xie Lin.
Xie Lin saw the comments on his social media post, intentionally showed the phone screen to Lin Junqing, and boasted triumphantly, “Everyone is blessing us. They all think you are adorable and not fierce at all. I think you are adorable too.”
Lin Junqing glanced at the screen with his chest heaving:
- “Ah, what a beautiful love story! The claw marks on Xie Lin’s face are so attractive. Assistant Lin is amazing.”
- “Assistant Lin is powerful; that is exactly how you should ‘discipline’ CEO Xie.”
- “CEO Xie must have been very excessive last night; look at Assistant Lin’s ears, they are red with anger. By the way, are they officially a couple now?”
Below that was Xie Lin’s reply: “Yes, it is official.”
Lin Junqing took a deep breath, unable to contain his anger any longer. He gripped the phone tightly and smashed it against the wall. The phone shattered, but the rage in Lin Junqing’s heart did not diminish in the slightest.
Xie Lin did not care at all and asked, “I have other phones. Do you want to smash another one?” If smashing one was not enough, he would buy a truckload for Lin Junqing to smash at his leisure.
Lin Junqing was speechless. He did not want to talk to a lunatic; this was bullying at its finest.
Seeing Lin Junqing angry, Xie Lin chuckled from time to time. Whether Lin Junqing was angry or glaring at him in silence, he loved every version of him. Why did he like Lin Junqing so much? Xie Lin could not figure it out. He had been calm and steady his whole life; only when he was with Lin Junqing did he feel that his heart was finally warm.
Lin Junqing lay back down in a foul mood. To survive, he had really sacrificed too much. With Xie Lin’s post, his relationship with the tycoon had become even more impossible to explain.
When Lin Junqing’s mood settled, the system advised, “Host, if only you liked men. Xie Lin has everything anyone could want. If you liked him, you could live a sweet life together. With the nourishment of love, Xie Lin would definitely not go dark, and you would complete the rescue mission.”
Lin Junqing sat up in a flurry of excitement, but the immediate soreness from behind made him feel both humiliated and furious. He pounded the bed frame twice, gnashing his teeth, and roared internally: “I will not like men. Never.”
Living a life where he could not even move in bed was simply not human. He would rather perish with Xie Lin than accept a man.
The system replied slowly, “But you cannot beat Xie Lin, and you cannot refuse him. Since you cannot refuse, why not just lie back and accept it?”
Lin Junqing gritted his teeth and closed his eyes. “Not listening, not listening.”
This time, Lin Junqing rested for two days. That night, Xie Lin tried to wrestle with him again, leading to Lin Junqing being too exhausted to speak and bedridden for another two days. Lin Junqing felt he was finished. Every time Xie Lin tormented him, he was too lazy to get angry. Xie Lin was shameless; if he slapped his left cheek, he would offer his right, and if he smashed his phone, Xie Lin would bring him a computer to smash instead. He truly had no way to deal with Xie Lin; he could not win in a fight, and he could not find the words to curse him out properly.
In the blink of an eye, they had been on the island for nearly four months, from autumn into winter. Lin Junqing’s body began to adapt. At first, he needed at least two days of rest after Xie Lin touched him. Now, Xie Lin touched him daily, and by the next day, he felt as if nothing had happened. Lin Junqing felt conflicted; his heart was disgusted, yet his body had adjusted. The more he thought about it, the more irritable he became. He glared at Xie Lin, who was sitting to the side. “Xie Lin, how much longer are you going to keep me locked up?”
Xie Lin sat beside him and tried to kiss his hair, but Lin Junqing pushed him away. Xie Lin did not want to enrage him, so he stepped back and kissed his finger instead. “I am not locking you up. You are free.”
Lin Junqing rolled his eyes toward the heavens, his tone extremely impatient. “Do not give me that linguistic loophole nonsense. When exactly will you let me leave?” He was not free; neither his body nor his heart was free.
Seeing that Lin Junqing wanted to leave again, Xie Lin sighed helplessly. “If you agree to date me, I will take you away from here.”
Lin Junqing’s expression darkened. He stood up, looked at Xie Lin, and strode back to his room. Over the past few months, no matter how uncomfortable his body felt, he had not had any crazed thoughts; he cherished his hard-won life. But Xie Lin was forcing his hand. He had no choice. Xie Lin’s sunshine value had reached -76, and the system had completely given up on the mission.
Lin Junqing had determined one thing over these months: Xie Lin would never truly harm him. Once, when Xie Lin forgot to cover him with a quilt, Lin Junqing caught a high fever for an entire day. In his delirium, he heard Xie Lin blaming himself for not taking care of him and slapping his own face with great force. At the time, he cursed Xie Lin as a mental patient in his heart, but then he realized Xie Lin was a mental patient. He had been angry, but he had almost laughed at the absurdity of it all. If it had not been for the system chatting and comforting him these months, he might not have lasted.
Back in his room, Lin Junqing grabbed a decorative object and threw it at the floor-to-ceiling mirror. Then, with a determined expression, he picked up a shard of the mirror and squeezed it tightly, blood dripping from the sharp tip.
Hearing the commotion, Xie Lin rushed into the bedroom and saw Lin Junqing staring at him expressionlessly. “Are you going to release me, or will you keep me here forever?”
Xie Lin was shocked by the blood on Lin Junqing’s hand and could hardly breathe. His voice was frantic. “Do not be impulsive! I will let you go. You can go wherever you want.”
Lin Junqing did not want to force Xie Lin like this, but he could think of no other way. If he remained imprisoned, he would go mad. The system breathed a sigh of relief to see Xie Lin frightened. It did not support the host gambling with his health unless absolutely necessary.
Xie Lin walked carefully to Lin Junqing and gently pried open his fingers one by one. Lin Junqing had gripped the shard tightly, betting that Xie Lin would not want him to get hurt. He had bet correctly; Xie Lin cared about him more than he had imagined. Xie Lin took the shard away and fell to his knees weakly in front of Lin Junqing, hugging his head, and remained silent for a very long time.
After a while, Lin Junqing heard Xie Lin ask in a very soft voice, “Do you want to leave me that much? Do you hate me that much? Am I not good enough to you? Aside from leaving me, I will give you anything you want. Is there not even a little bit of liking for me?”
Lin Junqing closed his eyes, trembling. “This is not about whether you are good to me.” Xie Lin’s kindness was useless because he did not like men.
Lin Junqing did not answer the last question, but Xie Lin already knew the answer. If Lin Junqing had even the slightest affection for him, he would not have shattered the mirror to threaten him. The system sighed, completely giving up. “Well, that is it. Xie Lin’s darkening value just hit -100. It is full.”
Lin Junqing felt conflicted. Even when Xie Lin’s sunshine value was at -100, he still did not want to harm him. Both the system and Lin Junqing had lost hope in the mission, sighing silently at the difficulty of the task.
Xie Lin slowly stood up, pulled Lin Junqing to sit on the couch, knelt to bandage his hand, and suddenly rested his head on Lin Junqing’s lap. “I was terrified just now. Do not scare me like that again. I beg you.”
Lin Junqing pouted and looked at his bandaged hand with grievance. “I do not want to either, but you are keeping me trapped here for a lifetime. What else can I do? As long as I have a mind of my own, I will yearn for freedom. Xie Lin, you cannot keep me by your side forever.”
The system grew anxious. “Host, do not provoke him further. If he loses his mind and takes care of you, and then takes care of himself, would you not be together forever?”
Lin Junqing’s heart skipped a beat. A darkened Xie Lin could very well do exactly what the system described. He quickly made amends: “I promise I will not marry anyone else. We can be like we were before, okay?”
He could not worry about anything else; calming Xie Lin down was the priority. All of Xie Lin’s darkness vanished the moment Lin Junqing said he would not marry. He looked up, stared into Lin Junqing’s eyes, and said very seriously, “I can give you freedom, but you cannot leave me. If you insist on going somewhere without me, you must kill me first.”
With that, Xie Lin pulled a fruit knife from who knows where and placed it gently in Lin Junqing’s hand, a radiant smile on his face. “Do it. I will not resist.”
Lin Junqing stared at the fruit knife in horror. Why did Xie Lin carry a fruit knife around? Was the system right all along?
Lin Junqing threw the fruit knife far away, cursing Xie Lin as a lunatic in his heart. The system was panicked. “Host, such a good opportunity, why did you let it go? Xie Lin’s sunshine value is at -100; it is too dangerous. You should have listened to him and taken care of him just now!”
Lin Junqing thought the system was being unreasonable. “Did you not say I could not kill the Child of Destiny?”
The system explained, “Normally, you cannot, because the Heavenly Way does not allow it. But Xie Lin asked you to do it himself. You would be carrying out Xie Lin’s command, which is not bound by the karmic laws of the Heavenly Way.”
Lin Junqing was silent, then sighed. “I will not kill him. I want to live, but I will not kill Xie Lin. I know he likes me; if I use his love for me to kill him, what does that make me? If I have to discard my conscience to stay alive, can I even call myself alive?”
The system did not try to persuade him again. Compared to a host who would stop at nothing to complete a mission, it preferred helping a host who had bottom lines and conscience. In an infinite life, many hosts lose their original nature and end in destruction. If Lin Junqing could maintain his conscience through an infinite life, he could live much longer.
Xie Lin looked at Lin Junqing with a smile in his eyes; he seemed to have found a way to control him. Xie Lin told Lin Junqing to let his wound heal before leaving, and after hesitating, Lin Junqing agreed. Xie Lin’s emotions were far from normal; he could not push him further. If he went mad, he would not be able to handle it. Lin Junqing could not guarantee he could threaten Xie Lin again next time.
That night, Xie Lin held Lin Junqing’s hand and asked in a hoarse voice, “Can I have one last time?”
Lin Junqing kicked him directly, looking so fierce he could bite Xie Lin to death, and retorted, “What do you think?”
