The Sickly Beauty Beta Got Pregnant After A Political Marriage - Chapter 13
It was necessary for the dance, so Shen Jiayu did not refuse.
His long eyelashes trembled slightly as he gave a soft nod in consent.
Wen Xiuheng leaned down, a solid arm gently winding around the “Little Rose’s” slender waist.
Despite it not being the first time he had held him, Wen Xiuheng was still surprised by how narrow the youth’s waist truly was. With just one arm, he could easily circle it entirely, as if a slight increase in pressure could snap such a delicate flower stalk. Wen Xiuheng was certain that a single palm of his could completely cover the boy’s flat, narrow belly.
As his arm pulled the waist close, the shape of that slender frame was faintly visible beneath the loose, soft loungewear, creating a sharp, striking contrast against the Alpha’s rolled-up sleeves and veined forearms.
Shen Jiayu is far too thin, Wen Xiuheng sighed inwardly. His rose required much more meticulous care.
The moment he was pulled into the embrace, Shen Jiayu felt himself instantly surrounded by a crisp, cold scent.
When he had been standing face to face with Mr. Wen just moments ago, he had already sensed the overwhelming pressure radiating from him as an S-class Alpha. The disparity in their strength was vast. Mr. Wen was so much taller that he had to lean down just to hold his waist.
Being held like this gave Shen Jiayu a momentary illusion, he felt as though he had been pulled into a cage forged of ice and snow. Yet, Mr. Wen’s embrace carried a distinct, radiating warmth.
The slender, petite youth was encircled by the tall Alpha. Though the difference in their physical sizes was significant, they looked unexpectedly harmonious from behind. As if custom-made for one another, the Little Rose was fitted perfectly against the man’s chest, while the Alpha acted as the perfect shield, naturally existing to protect him.
If the Alpha tightened his arm even slightly, they would be perfectly embedded together without a single gap.
Shen Jiayu’s nose pressed against the Alpha’s chest, his body somewhat stiff. Flustered, the youth lowered his eyes, his long lashes fluttering like butterfly wings in a storm.
After what felt like a long time, the youth finally heard the man’s deep voice rise again: “Rest your left hand on my shoulder.”
The husky, magnetic voice rang so close to his ear that Shen Jiayu dazed for a moment before blankly responding, “…Um, okay.”
The boy obediently reached out his left arm, but the Alpha before him was too tall. Shen Jiayu could only reach through the underside of the man’s arm, his slender, porcelain white fingers curling slightly as he tentatively placed them on the Alpha’s shoulder. The solid sensation beneath his touch served as a constant reminder of the sheer difference in power between them.
Feeling the soft touch on his shoulder, Wen Xiuheng’s eyes darkened.
“Your right hand, hold mine,” the Alpha continued hoarsely.
Shen Jiayu glanced to the right. As he turned his head, his snow white, delicate skin brushed lightly against the black shirt the man was wearing. The youth suddenly held his breath.
They were so close now, close enough to feel the warmth of the man’s breath, close enough that the low vibration of that magnetic voice resonated against his eardrums.
“Jiayu, put your hand here.” His silver-grey eyes looked down at him as the Alpha extended his right hand first.
Shen Jiayu felt his gaze and bit his lip softly, not daring to look him in the eye.
With a soft, compliant “Mm,” Shen Jiayu slowly placed his right hand into the other’s.
The difference in their palm sizes was also stark, the man’s hand was larger by more than a full circle. The man’s hands were well-defined, with long fingers and prominent veins on the back. The youth’s hands were fair, graceful, and delicate, with rounded, neat nails and fingertips tinged with a faint pink.
The man’s broad palm easily and completely enveloped the youth’s hand, leaving no gap.
Shen Jiayu realized his entire field of vision had been firmly occupied by the other man, and that crisp scent had blanketed him entirely.
With the starting positions set, Wen Xiuheng looked down at the Little Rose in his arms, his voice sounding a few degrees raspier. “Ready. Let’s begin.”
Shen Jiayu gathered his courage, lifted his eyes, and crashed straight into those silver-grey pupils that looked like ice and snow.
“Okay, Mr. Wen…” the youth murmured in a daze.
“Step forward with your left foot first.”
Anxious, Shen Jiayu looked down at their feet and followed Wen Xiuheng’s instructions.
“Now lift your right foot and place it in front of your left.” Wen Xiuheng’s own movements shifted in sync as he taught him.
Shen Jiayu followed each step earnestly.
“Well done,” Wen Xiuheng praised with a low chuckle, his magnetic voice echoing in Shen Jiayu’s ear. “Next step…”
Shen Jiayu stole a glance at him before quickly looking away, his earlobes gradually flushing a deep crimson.
Wen Xiuheng was a very qualified “teacher.” He was patient and meticulous, frequently offering sincere words of praise and using his body to guide Shen Jiayu’s pace and rhythm.
Gradually, Shen Jiayu wasn’t as nervous as he had been at the start. He was learning seriously and with great focus.
“Very good, the footwork is correct,” the man’s deep, gentle praise rang out again.
Wen Xiuheng’s encouragement gave Shen Jiayu a surge of confidence. He felt he was starting to master the basic steps. He tilted his small face up, looking at the Alpha with eyes curved into happy crescents.
Wen Xiuheng’s heart skipped a beat involuntarily.
Soon, the Alpha’s lips curved into a smile as well, and he said huskily, “Good boy, you’re doing great. Let’s try it again.”
At the address “Good boy,” Shen Jiayu’s earlobes turned red once more. He felt the term was a bit like coaxing a child, even though he was clearly an adult.
Shen Jiayu was momentarily distracted. In a lapse of focus, the slipper on his left foot slipped off and fell behind him.
“Oh!” Shen Jiayu let out a small gasp.
Wen Xiuheng immediately brought their bodies to a halt. “What happened?”
Blushing, Shen Jiayu stammered, “My shoe… it fell off…”
A low laugh came from above, carrying a sense of absolute indulgence.
“Hold onto me,” the man said, using the same instructional tone as before.
Hearing this, Shen Jiayu reflexively tightened his hold on the man’s arms.
Suddenly, his feet left the ground. Shen Jiayu realized with a start that he had been swept up into a solid embrace. Mr. Wen had picked him up by the waist.
With a veined arm supporting the back of his knees, Wen Xiuheng carried him into his arms with almost zero effort.
Shen Jiayu’s rose-colored eyes widened, momentarily speechless with surprise.
Quickly, those steady arms carried him to a nearby sofa, where he was placed down securely. Wen Xiuheng’s movements were clean, decisive, gentle, and stable. Sitting on the sofa, Shen Jiayu blinked in dazed confusion.
Mr. Wen was truly strong, he had been moved from one side to the other just like that.
Meanwhile, Wen Xiuheng had already bent over to pick up the fallen slipper and walked over. The tall Alpha leaned down and crouched before him.
Under Shen Jiayu’s astonished gaze, the Alpha’s broad palm grasped his fair ankle. The youth’s ankle was so slender that the man could easily circle it with one hand. Even through the cotton sock, the smooth, graceful lines of the ankle remained clear.
The warmth from the man’s palm seeped through the fabric to his skin. The youth involuntarily curled his leg slightly and subconsciously held his breath.
In a place where Shen Jiayu could not see, the Alpha’s eyes were dark and deep.
