- Chapter 13 - Fake Young Master Alpha x Real Young Master Alpha (13)
Once those words were spoken, neither of them could focus on eating slowly. The food was left abandoned on the table before they even had time to clear it, and the lights were switched off first.
Su Yi appeared open-minded, but he preferred to act with the lights off. In the darkness, Pei Yingjue had to move very close to see his face clearly. Because Su Yi was facing away, Pei Yingjue could only catch a glimpse of his profile.
The youth sat on the bed, bracing his hands against the headboard, leaving all the decisions to Pei Yingjue. He was so submissive that he perfectly fulfilled an Alpha’s fantasy of the ideal prey.
Pei Yingjue took a deep breath. The gland at the back of his neck was still uncomfortably swollen. He reached out to steady Su Yi’s waist, while his other hand moved to the youth’s loose collar. Su Yi tensed up completely, his breathing turning shallow and rapid.
“Tell me if it hurts,” Pei Yingjue said in a deep voice.
“Mn.”
As the collar was pulled aside, Pei Yingjue’s gaze first fell on Su Yi’s slender neck before traveling down to the fragile gland. After several heavy breaths, he leaned down. The warm air brushed against the gland, causing Su Yi to let out a muffled groan.
“It tickles.”
Pei Yingjue chuckled, his hand sliding down to support Su Yi’s abdomen. “Sorry.”
He had no intention of prolonging the torment, especially since the atmosphere would become uncontrollable if they lingered. Pei Yingjue steadied himself for a moment, but just as he was about to bite, he suddenly froze. His expression shifted.
He smelled a scent that should not have been there. It was a very subtle, easily missed odor, but Pei Yingjue was intimately familiar with it. It was the scent of the coupling agent used during gland examinations.
Because of his condition, Pei Yingjue frequented the hospital. He had had coupling agent applied to his gland many times. Whether it was high-quality or cheap, the scent was largely the same; he had developed a near-conditioned reflex to it.
The appearance of this subtle scent caused Pei Yingjue’s body to stiffen instinctively. Su Yi had gone for a gland examination, yet he had not mentioned it at all. Pei Yingjue’s eyes darkened.
The silence lasted too long. With the warm breath concentrated on the sensitive gland, it began to feel like a form of torture for Su Yi. He moved back slightly and spoke in a soft, husky voice, “Aren’t you going to continue?”
It was a naked invitation.
“Is this frequent marking harmful to your body?” Pei Yingjue asked suddenly.
It was beneficial, if anything; how could it be harmful? Su Yi did not think much of it and replied, “No.”
He thought his answer would put Pei Yingjue at ease, but the other man shifted his leg slightly, wedging it between Su Yi’s knees. Su Yi groaned, only to hear Pei Yingjue lean in close to ask, “Then what about what we discussed before? Have you gone to see someone about it?”
“Why are you asking that?”
Su Yi did not see what that had to do with today’s marking. He was being teased to the point of losing his patience. He hated this kind of “will-he-won’t-he” foreplay.
“Answer me first.”
What is wrong with this man today?
Salty, moist pheromones bore down on him. Su Yi already had a low resistance to them, let alone when someone was subtly releasing them on purpose. He could not help but gasp. “Didn’t you see for yourself that day? It is nothing.”
Normally, Pei Yingjue would have lost his restraint by now, but instead, he lightly pinched Su Yi’s gland. Su Yi’s body froze, and his breath hitched.
“You went to the hospital today,” Pei Yingjue interrogated. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Alarm bells rang in Su Yi’s head. He did not remember being seen by anyone, and he had never brought medical records around Pei Yingjue. How did he know?
“Don’t lie to me.” Pei Yingjue assumed Su Yi was going to brush it off again since he had a history of doing so. He laid out the evidence first. “There was coupling agent on your gland.”
Dog nose.
Su Yi felt a sense of relief. Since his secret was not fully exposed, he had plenty of ways to talk his way out of it. The seductive gasping stopped. After being caught, Su Yi always became silent.
Pei Yingjue’s heart raced. He quickly pulled the youth over and flipped him around to face him, asking softly, “What exactly happened? Are you sick?”
“No,” Su Yi answered sullenly.
“Really?” Pei Yingjue frowned, not believing him. Given that this person was capable of injecting drugs, hiding a minor illness was well within his character. “Where are the medical records? Let me see.”
“I do not want to show you.”
Su Yi rarely acted this disobedient.
“Why?” Pei Yingjue’s frown deepened.
Su Yi glanced at him and explained quietly, “I am not stupid. I looked into the issue with my body from last time. It happens to most Alphas who have been marked; it is a normal reaction.”
Pei Yingjue relaxed slightly, but he was not entirely convinced. “Then what did you go to check this time?”
Su Yi closed his mouth.
“Can’t you tell me?” Pei Yingjue was not the type to pry into someone’s privacy, but this concerned Su Yi’s health. He was worried Su Yi was hiding something from him.
Su Yi looked up at him a couple of times. After a moment, he conceded. “I went to check my pheromones.”
At this, Pei Yingjue understood. The weight on his heart lifted, only to crash back down even harder. Su Yi smiled so often that even Pei Yingjue forgot that this person, like himself, was deeply troubled by pheromones. One was receiving treatment, while the other had yet to find a method.
Looking at Su Yi’s slightly lowered head, Pei Yingjue felt a sharp pang of pain.
“I am sorry,” Pei Yingjue whispered. He was not just apologizing for his intrusive behavior, but for his neglect of Su Yi over the past few days. He should have been more attentive.
Su Yi shook his head. “It is fine. I am used to it.”
Having said that, he reached out to wrap his arms around Pei Yingjue’s neck. He tilted his head to rub against Pei Yingjue’s cheek and whispered, “Continue.”
Pei Yingjue looked down at the thin, reliant figure, and a wave of tenderness washed over him. How could he be so well-behaved? He did not act like a young master at all.
His broad, warm palm rested on Su Yi’s back. As the youth arched his neck, Pei Yingjue leaned down, offering a close, tight embrace.
“I will help you find a way. Do not be afraid.”
Su Yi’s eyelashes fluttered. He then smiled and tilted his head to lean against Pei Yingjue. “That is playing dirty, A-Ying.”
This marking was slow and long. Pei Yingjue was so gentle it was almost unrecognizable, leaving Su Yi feeling as though his bones had been soaked through in the sea. He was so soft that the moment his head hit the pillow, sleepiness washed over him.
That was close! You scared me to death just now, 777 said with a sigh of relief.
“Coward,” Su Yi evaluated mercilessly.
You are just being stubborn! But your gland is recovering now. He is bound to find out one day, right?
Su Yi did not argue. He had lied to Pei Yingjue just now. It was not that there were no results; the results were actually too good.
The rejection rate between him and Pei Yingjue was extremely low. Combined with the frequent markings lately, his withered gland had actually begun to develop slowly. The doctor said that if things continued well, he would soon have pheromones.
This was something he definitely could not keep from Pei Yingjue forever.
Listening to the sound of the water in the bathroom, Su Yi felt sleepiness taking over. “Then we can only pray that he falls in love with me before he finds out.”
What does that have to do with being found out? 777 asked, confused.
Su Yi yawned. “Because he will be very forgiving toward a lover.”
777 was even more surprised. How do you know?
“People with a strong sense of responsibility are generally very generous and forgiving,” Su Yi explained, though it was unclear if he was just making it up. 777 could not tell, so he asked another question.
Then have you fallen in love with him? You can only become lovers if both people love each other, right?
“You are so old-fashioned, 777,” Su Yi chuckled. “Two people who do not love each other can still become lovers.”
You are just too open-minded!
Buzz!
Pei Yingjue pushed open the bathroom door. He glanced at the person sleeping soundly on the bed, silenced his phone, and clicked on his messages. It was from Chen Liao.
[Chen Liao: You should thank me. I could not find whose house the jade pendant belongs to, but this kind of jade is rare and has appeared at auctions before. I used some methods to dig up the buyer’s information and sent it to your email. The rest is up to you.]
Pei Yingjue paused his drying. He had not given up on searching for clues, but since it involved the nobility, progress had been slow; it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. He had not expected Chen Liao to actually bring him results.
Without hesitation, he opened his email. He skimmed through the auction process and timing, his eyes finally landing on the buyer’s information.
Su?
Pei Yingjue paused and immediately searched for this person online. As expected, it was the former head of the Su Group who had long since retired behind the scenes. The Su Group was a subsidiary of the Su family, one of the four great families of the Empire. Contacting them was nearly impossible for an ordinary person.
But as luck would have it, Pei Yingjue knew a friend from the Su family.
I should go visit that senior tomorrow, Pei Yingjue thought.
That feeling of finally seeing light after groping in the dark for so long gave Pei Yingjue an unprecedented sense of relief. He looked up at the youth sleeping peacefully on the bed. Strangely, he wanted to share this feeling with Su Yi. He wanted to give him a hug.
Pei Yingjue watched for a long time, water droplets sliding onto his pajamas and soaking the collar. After a long while, he exhaled slowly and reached out to lightly touch Su Yi’s cheek.
Su Yi frowned slightly.
Pei Yingjue chuckled.
So well-behaved.
When he woke up the next day, Su Yi stayed in bed as usual. Even after saying goodbye to Pei Yingjue, who was heading to the lab, he remained huddled under the covers, playing with his phone.
Aren’t you supposed to make him fall in love with you? Why are you still in bed? He has already left! 777 grumbled. This was the tenth time he had suggested Su Yi get up, but the youth had not budged.
“No,” Su Yi refused flatly. “Why should I neglect the bed just to get up? It would be sad. 777, you have no empathy at all.”
?
777 was furious, but Su Yi acted as if he had not noticed.
Buzz!
The battle over getting out of bed finally ended with a sudden phone call. Su Yi saw the word “Father” on the screen, narrowed his eyes, and answered.
“The driver will be at your academy entrance in twenty minutes. Dress appropriately,” his father’s authoritative voice rang out, dropping a command without preamble.
“What is it?” Su Yi asked.
“You are having lunch with the one from the Xu family. You should understand what I mean. You’ve clung to your brother for so many years; it is time you showed some gratitude. Stop being a burden who never grows up.”
Click!
The call was cut off before Su Yi could respond. His father had delivered a forceful verdict.
After waking up, you received a call from your father. He has given you notice. Please proceed immediately to have lunch with the Xu family Omega.
A cold notification sound rang out, this time with an undeniable tone of authority.
The probability of a BE has increased, 777 said, startled.
“Can I refuse?” Su Yi asked.
No, this is a forced plot point. You can only choose to refuse when the probability of other endings is higher than the probability of a BE, 777 paused. Currently, the HE probability is 55%, the TE probability is 0%, the SE probability is 0%, and the BE probability is 60%.
It was only a five percent difference.
“Tch.”
Su Yi frowned. It seemed he could not stay in bed this time.
