- Chapter 10 - Fake Young Master Alpha x Real Young Master Alpha (10)
Su Yi stared at the bouquet of white and purple flowers for a moment. Instead of taking them, he looked up at Pei Yingjue.
“Aren’t there flowers specifically for fans? Why give me a new bouquet?”
“This bouquet looks better,” Pei Yingjue replied, not being entirely honest.
“Is that so?” Su Yi chuckled. Their entwined hands finally let go, and under Pei Yingjue’s watchful gaze, he took the bouquet and leaned down to sniff it. “I also think this bouquet looks better.”
With that, the topic of the flowers reached its end. If no one brought up a new subject, this dramatic escape would conclude right here.
It was early autumn, and the evening breeze had not yet turned cool. It still carried the dry heat of late summer, blowing against Pei Yingjue and stirring up the irritability he had been suppressing. The sudden cold treatment followed by this unexplained familiarity pulled at him like fire and ice.
Pei Yingjue watched as Su Yi held the bouquet tightly, while the Flame Orchids given earlier were now neglected. He stared for two seconds before averting his eyes.
Forget it. They were only in a cooperative relationship, after all.
“Regarding the checkup, thank you,” Pei Yingjue said, standing in the wind and speaking as he usually did. “This was help outside of our contract, so I owe you a favor. If you need anything in the future, I will do my best to help.”
Pei Yingjue spoke to himself, knowing full well that there was very little he could offer Su Yi. The other lacked for nothing, so he could only leave him with a vague promise of a favor, which felt hollow and useless. Much like himself.
Su Yi listened intently, neither interrupting nor arguing. Only after Pei Yingjue finished did he speak slowly. “I’ll remember that.”
The conversation hit another dead end. Perhaps the two of them truly had no common interests, or perhaps neither wanted to continue, leading to this abrupt conclusion. Pei Yingjue was used to this and prepared to say a polite goodbye.
“Don’t you have anything else to ask?” Su Yi spoke up.
Pei Yingjue looked at him. “No.”
Su Yi laughed lightly. “But when we bumped into each other yesterday, you didn’t look like someone who had no questions.”
Inexplicably, a surge of anger rose within Pei Yingjue. “You saw wrong.”
“I am sorry. I have been acting very strange lately. My apologies.” Su Yi pressed his palms together over the flowers and spoke sincerely, instantly dousing the fire Pei Yingjue had been nursing.
Pei Yingjue rubbed his temples. “You do not need to apologize to me for what you do.”
“But I made you upset, didn’t I?” Su Yi asked.
Pei Yingjue grew quiet. He looked into Su Yi’s beautiful eyes; the other seemed to be half encouraging and half expecting him to say something.
“You can ask me anything, any question. You have that right,” Su Yi said with a serious expression.
How could he have the right to ask? What exactly was their relationship? After a moment of silence, Pei Yingjue finally spoke. “Why were you avoiding me?”
As the words fell, Su Yi seemed satisfied with the inquiry. His features softened into a smile, and he shifted the flowers to one side before speaking. “Because after that day, my body became a bit strange.”
Pei Yingjue frowned instantly. “How is it strange? Side effects from the medicine? Have you had a fever recently? Is there any abnormality with your gland? Have you been to the hospital?”
A barrage of questions came crashing down, but Su Yi answered none of them. He took a step forward. The scent of his perfume washed over Pei Yingjue, who had no time to react before Su Yi leaned into his ear.
“Lately, whenever I think of you or see you, I become like an Omega.”
Pei Yingjue froze, not quite understanding. When he saw the blatant desire in Su Yi’s eyes and felt him reaching for his hand to prove it, his mind exploded. He instinctively grabbed Su Yi’s hand and covered his mouth.
Pei Yingjue knit his brows and looked around anxiously. After confirming no one was there, he looked back at Su Yi. How could this person be so innocent yet so scandalous at the same time?
The other person seemed completely unaware that anything was wrong, blinking and staring straight at him. His gaze made Pei Yingjue feel as though his own heart was the one that was dirty.
“Is this something you can say here?” Pei Yingjue lectured in a low voice, feeling a headache coming on.
Su Yi shook his head. Pei Yingjue thought he had held him too tightly and made him uncomfortable, so he loosened his grip. Su Yi lowered his head, pressing his lips against the base of Pei Yingjue’s ring finger. His hot breath spilled across his palm.
“Do you want to see?”
Pei Yingjue felt he must be possessed to let Su Yi have his way. Sitting on the bed and facing Su Yi, who was staring intently at him, Pei Yingjue felt he had truly gone mad.
They had entered the dorm in a hurry and had not even turned on the lights. The room was pitch black, with the only light source coming from the uncurtained balcony. Moonlight cast its glow through the glass door, landing on the corner of the bed.
Su Yi sat there, bathed in the pale moonlight, his gray eyes fixed on him. Then, Pei Yingjue saw him lean forward, his eyes blinking in a way that made his heart race. He could smell the pleasant fragrance of Su Yi’s perfume.
If Su Yi had pheromones, what would they smell like?
The moment the thought surfaced, Pei Yingjue frowned. It was too dark and they were too close, making him feel as though he were in a dream. He needed to wake up. He turned slightly to reach for the switch by the head of the bed.
“Don’t turn on the light,” Su Yi said softly, his voice trembling slightly.
As if under a spell, Pei Yingjue’s fingertip stopped an inch from the switch. He breathed heavily as the gland at the back of his neck began to swell again. They were too close, yet neither took a step back. They sat in a stalemate; one staring intently, the other looking away.
Suddenly, Pei Yingjue heard a rustling sound. He turned back, his pupils shrinking, and reached out to grab Su Yi’s reckless hand. His grip was heavy; he was using every ounce of strength to keep his rationality from slipping.
But Su Yi did not appreciate his effort. Instead, he used Pei Yingjue’s hand to pull down his waistband. He had pulled the blanket over at some point, wrapping it around his waist like a makeshift wall.
Yet, it hid nothing.
Pei Yingjue only had to look down to see everything. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he tried to look away. Su Yi, however, caught his hand. Su Yi’s palm was burning hot, making Pei Yingjue flinch. In that moment of distraction, Su Yi took the upper hand and pressed his palm down.
“Is it a bit wet?”
Pei Yingjue’s breath hitched at the question. His mind went blank, but his fingers moved instinctively.
“Mmh.”
Su Yi arched his back at the stimulation, and his heart-shaped tail popped out almost instantly. Fortunately, Pei Yingjue could not see it. Pei Yingjue instinctively rubbed his fingers together, and a silver thread broke in the air.
“Do you want to try?” Su Yi asked enticingly, a purple hue gradually appearing in his eyes.
Pei Yingjue looked into his eyes under the moonlight. He thought that Su Yi possessed an extreme, honest simplicity regarding sex; there was no shame and no concealment, only a bold invitation.
An Alpha without pheromones was already an anomaly, let alone one who displayed characteristics of another gender. Anyone else would feel panic, try to hide it, or even feel self-loathing upon discovering such biological traits.
But Su Yi did not feel that way. Instead, he held Pei Yingjue’s hand, asking and enticing him without a care in the world.
“Do you want to try?”
The words fell on Pei Yingjue’s ears like a curse. Unknowingly, Su Yi leaned closer until their breaths mingled and the surrounding air grew hot.
Just as everything was about to collapse, Pei Yingjue watched Su Yi’s red lips move, completely snapping the string of his rationality.
“Shall we, do it?”
