- The Scumbag Attackers Regretted It Deeply After My Death
- Chapter 37 - She Already Hates Her, Doesn’t She?
Inside the private dining room, everyone looked at each other in bewilderment. Li Yifan frowned, speaking up with clear dissatisfaction, “What does President Jiang mean by this? Did she just leave? Then what about Yao Zhenzhen?”
Someone at the table spoke up in defense of Jiang Nian’an, “It’s normal, it’s normal. President Jiang has a myriad of affairs to attend to every day. It’s already rare for a big boss like her to sit down and eat with us for a while. I expect there’s some important company matter that needs her attention.”
Then someone asked, “Isn’t she going to wait for Yao Zhenzhen?”
Another person snorted disdainfully, “Is work more important, or is an Omega more important?”
In other words, making money was certainly more serious. Once you have money, what kind of Omega wouldn’t come at your beck and call? If they were in President Jiang’s position, they’d be spoiled for choice. Of course, rumors said Jiang Nian’an was a total workaholic and wasn’t particularly interested in cloying romances.
…
Yao Anna found Yao Ling tied up in a corner of the alley near the back entrance. She hurried over, squatting down to untie the ropes on Yao Ling’s body and pulling the cloth gag from her mouth.
“Yao Ling, how did you end up like this? Where is my Senior?”
Ignoring her own disheveled state, Yao Ling grabbed Yao Anna’s wrist, completely panicked. “Mr. Peter was kidnapped by a group of black-clad men who suddenly appeared!”
“What?!”
Yao Anna’s face changed drastically. As if realizing something, she immediately ran toward the hotpot restaurant.
This is bad! Teacher is in danger!
Seeing her so frantic, Yao Ling scrambled up from the ground and chased after her.
But by the time she reached Yao Anna’s side, their seats were already empty. Yao Anna’s pupils trembled as a terrible premonition swept through her heart.
Jiang Nian’an!
It must be her!
Besides her, no one else had the capability to take Peter and her Teacher right from under her nose!
“What should we do, Sister Anna? Could Mr. Adams and Mr. Peter have met with foul play?” Yao Ling was frantic with worry, on the verge of tears. If she hadn’t unintentionally revealed Yao Anna’s affairs to Peter, Peter wouldn’t have come up with this plan, nor would he have brought her into the alley where they were ambushed. If that hadn’t happened, Sister Anna wouldn’t have come looking for them, giving the enemy the chance to strike!
Everything was because of her. Yao Ling felt incredibly guilty and remorseful; she regretted it deeply.
Yao Ling’s panic infected the woman, but Yao Anna knew in her heart that the more dire the situation, the more she had to remain calm.
“It’s alright, it’s alright.” Yao Anna’s beautiful face was grim. She lightly patted Yao Ling’s shoulder to comfort her. “I think I know where they are.”
Yao Ling froze, wiping the tears from her face with the back of her hand. Like catching onto a final life-saving straw, she quickly asked, “Where?”
Yao Anna’s eyes were cold as a chilling sneer curled at the corners of her lips.
“Where else could they be? Other than the First People’s Hospital, it’s impossible for them to be anywhere else!”
The Imperial Capital First People’s Hospital—the hospital where Yao Guangming was staying, and the hospital with the best medical technology and equipment in the entire city!
Yao Ling frowned. Although she didn’t know why Yao Anna was so certain that Adams and Peter were there, she decided to follow Yao Anna to the hospital first, operating on the mindset that a blind cat might eventually stumble upon a dead mouse.
“Then shall we go to the hospital first? If that doesn’t work, we can look elsewhere.”
Yao Anna nodded without saying much and turned to walk quickly out of the restaurant. She had no energy to explain things to Yao Ling right now.
The priority was to find Jiang Nian’an. As long as she found that Alpha, the whereabouts of Adams and Peter wouldn’t be far off!
She had to stop her Teacher from performing the surgery on Yao Guangming!
No matter what, she had to stop it!
The night was thick. A black Mercedes business van drove from a distance and came to a steady halt at the back entrance of the First People’s Hospital inpatient building.
It was already around ten o’clock at night, and there were few people around the back entrance.
“President, we have arrived.”
Shen Mengjin’s respectful voice came from the front.
Jiang Nian’an slowly opened her dark eyes and turned to look at Adams and Peter, who were tied up in the back seat. They were being guarded by two of her subordinates. Peter’s eyes were tightly shut as if he had fainted, while Adams was glaring with fury, staring hard at the Alpha. His mouth was covered with tape, allowing him only to make muffled “wu-wu” sounds.
Even though the light inside the car was dim, Jiang Nian’an could still clearly see the fire of anger burning in Adams’ eyes. She pursed her lips and cast a casual glance at the man in black sitting next to Adams.
The man understood instantly and ripped the tape off Adams’ mouth in one go!
“Hiss…” Adams couldn’t help but cry out in pain. He stared deathly at Jiang Nian’an, gritting his teeth as he spoke, “Miss Jiang, what on earth do you want by repeatedly kidnapping me and my student by force?!”
If looks could kill, Jiang Nian’an would have died thousands of times already.
Jiang Nian’an’s gaze was deep. She looked at Adams expressionlessly. She knew he already hated her to the core, and that after this incident, he would surely use every means to deal with her. However, Jiang Nian’an didn’t care. Or rather, it wasn’t that she didn’t care, but that she simply wasn’t afraid of Adams’ retaliation.
If there had been any other way, she wouldn’t have treated Adams like this. After all, he was Yao Anna’s teacher. The fact that the Omega had fought her subordinates for Adams’ sake proved that Adams undoubtedly held a significant position in Yao Anna’s heart.
At the very least, in Yao Anna’s heart, Adams was much more important than she was.
Thinking of this, Jiang Nian’an’s lips curled slightly into a self-mocking arc.
Since things had started out wrong, she could only continue down the wrong path.
“I believe Dr. Adams is very clear about my purpose. I have an old friend whose life is hanging by a thread, and no one but you can save him. I hope you will cooperate. As long as the surgery is successful, not only will I pay the medical fees, but I will also send you and your student to the airport for the earliest flight to Italy tomorrow morning. What do you think?”
Adams was momentarily stunned. Recalling the words Yao Anna had said to him that afternoon, he let out a cold snort, looking completely uncooperative.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Miss Jiang!”
Adams didn’t believe that if he refused to cooperate, Jiang Nian’an could actually do anything to him!
Jiang Nian’an’s gaze was calm, her expression composed. It was as if she was certain Adams would eventually agree to her conditions. She said flatly, “If Dr. Adams still cares about your student, I advise you to cooperate honestly.”
As she spoke, Jiang Nian’an lowered her eyes slightly, casting a meaningful glance at the unconscious Peter before looking back at the middle-aged foreigner with a gaze full of warning.
Adams’ face changed drastically. He began to struggle violently, looking as if he wanted to rush forward and strangle Jiang Nian’an. The man in black beside him easily pressed him back into his seat, restraining him.
“Jiang Nian’an, you’re threatening me?!”
Jiang Nian’an raised an eyebrow and let out a light chuckle. “You even know my name. It seems Anna has told you everything about our relationship.”
“Yes! She told me everything! Jiang Nian’an, if you release Peter and me now, I can let bygones be bygones for the sake of you being my student’s fiancé. But if you persist in this course of action…”
“Hmm?” Jiang Nian’an crossed her long legs, her posture casual and lazy. “What will happen?”
Burning with rage, Adams questioned coldly, “Aren’t you afraid that if Anna finds out about tonight, she will hate you?!”
She already hates her, doesn’t she?
The smile didn’t reach Jiang Nian’an’s eyes. She replied with feigned indifference, “In my dictionary, the word ‘fear’ does not exist.”
“Dr. Adams, you underestimate me. Since I already knew you were Anna’s teacher and still dared to move against you, I don’t believe you don’t understand what that implies.”
Adams choked, glaring at Jiang Nian’an with an extremely grim expression.
How could he not understand? Knowing his relationship with Yao Anna and still laying such heavy hands on him meant Jiang Nian’an simply wasn’t afraid of Yao Anna finding out.
This Alpha was far more dangerous than he had imagined!
Jiang Nian’an was running out of patience. She had refrained from dragging Adams directly into the operating room and forcing him because she was worried he might intentionally sabotage Yao Guangming’s surgery.
Seeing him remain stubborn, she decided to speak plainly.
“To tell you the truth, there’s no use in stalling for time. I know Anna is already on her way, but do you think I would let her stop my plan?”
Jiang Nian’an smiled, her eyes filled with a look of absolute determination.
“If that’s truly what you think, then I can only say you have underestimated Jiang Nian’an.”
“Let me put it this way: In the Imperial Capital, I am God. As long as I desire it, no one can take you from my hands—not even my fiancée. Today, you will perform this surgery whether you want to or not!”
Facing the powerful and domineering Alpha, Adams’ eyes flickered. He still held onto a final sliver of hope.
Yes, he knew that with Yao Anna’s intelligence, as soon as she discovered he was missing, she would definitely figure out where he had gone.
He was waiting. Waiting for her to come and save him.
Adams remained silent, adopting an attitude of total defiance.
An flash of impatience crossed Jiang Nian’an’s eyes. She had made things clear enough, but this old man was too stubborn. It seemed she needed to use stronger medicine to provoke him.
She suddenly reached out and grabbed Adams by the collar. The Alpha’s eyes were dark and deep, her face cold. Her powerful and dangerous aura was enough to make one’s blood run cold.
“Do you think that just because you are Anna’s teacher, I wouldn’t dare touch you no matter what?”
Adams set his face, his gaze icy. He still said nothing, appearing as if he would let Jiang Nian’an do whatever she wished.
Was she joking? He had performed surgeries for countless dignitaries and powerful people in his life; what kind of people or situations had he not experienced?
Did this Alpha think that just because she threatened him with a few words, he would have to obediently comply?
She underestimated him if she thought he was that weak!
In fact, Jiang Nian’an was right. Adams was relying on his status and his position as Yao Anna’s teacher, so he truly wasn’t afraid of Jiang Nian’an’s threats.
A cold sneer appeared on Jiang Nian’an’s lips. She said coldly, “I know what you’re thinking. I know even more that you want to kill me right now. With your power and status in M-Country, it would be easy for you to hire assassins to take me out. But you seem to have forgotten…”
Having his thoughts read, Adams didn’t get flustered. He had regained his composure and looked steadily at the Alpha’s exquisitely handsome face, asking flatly, “Forgotten what?”
“Forgotten that this is the Imperial Capital.”
Jiang Nian’an suddenly released his collar and even reached out to smooth the wrinkles she had caused.
“I haven’t forgotten,” Adams said, staring at the Alpha while sneering inwardly. He wanted to see what kind of trick Jiang Nian’an had up her sleeve.
