- Chapter 32 - Coercion and Inducement
“Dr. Adams, you may not be aware of my status. I am offering you friendly advice, but if you remain unwilling, then do not blame me for being impolite.”
Facing the Alpha’s threat, Adams’s expression remained frostily cold. He said not a word, wanting only to turn and leave as quickly as possible.
Just then, a black business van drove over from the other side and pulled up at the curb. Four sturdy men in black quickly stepped out of the vehicle and surrounded Adams and Peter. Peter’s face changed drastically; how could he not guess that these men were sent by Jiang Nian’an?
Seeing such a display for the first time, Adams could no longer maintain his composure. He turned around and stared intently at the Alpha. Jiang Nian’an could see the fury burning in his eyes.
But what did fury matter? After all, the Imperial Capital was her domain. Adams’s anger was nothing more than the resentment of the powerless. Without her consent, Adams could forget about ever leaving the city.
“Why don’t you reconsider? Then, give me an answer.”
Jiang Nian’an smiled faintly, her eyes filled with the look of someone certain of victory.
“Teacher, what should we do?”
Peter was panicking. He leaned in cautiously toward Adams and whispered.
“Call your junior sister.”
Adams’s gaze swept warily over the four men surrounding them. He shielded Peter behind him. Peter hurriedly pulled his phone from his pocket, intending to call Yao Anna.
How could Jiang Nian’an miss the movements of the teacher and student? Seeing Peter about to make a call, she flicked her eyelids and lightly spun the silver ring on her right index finger.
The four men in black understood instantly. They lunged forward abruptly. One of them snatched the phone from Peter’s hand and slammed it violently onto the ground!
The phone shattered instantly into pieces!
Peter’s eyes turned red with rage. He wanted nothing more than to risk his life fighting the men, but Adams was quick enough to hold him back.
“Peter! You must stay calm! We are no match for these people!”
“But…”
The voice stopped abruptly.
Adams noticed Peter staring blankly in one direction. His expression was dazed, and his previously agitated state suddenly turned quiet. Adams frowned and followed his line of sight. He saw a graceful figure striding toward them with great purpose!
The woman wore a black shirt with the top two buttons undone, leaving her exquisite collarbones faintly visible. Her black slim-fit trousers made her legs appear long and straight, a truly pleasing sight. A pair of sunglasses obscured her beautiful face, and her silk-like black hair fluttered in the wind.
Adams’s eyes tightened, and for a moment, his voice became low and strained. “She… she is…”
Although Adams didn’t say the woman’s name, Peter knew what he was going to say. He nodded vigorously, his eyes lighting up instantly.
“It’s her!”
“Teacher, she’s come to save us!”
Jiang Nian’an noticed the strange behavior of the two. Frowning, she followed their gaze. The woman’s figure was very striking, and she noticed her immediately. However, why did she feel as though this person looked familiar?
The woman walked faster and faster. As she walked, she tied her long hair into a neat, capable ponytail. By the time she was fifty meters away from Adams, she had finished tying her hair. Her figure suddenly turned into a blur, and when she reappeared, she was already standing behind one of the men in black!
The man felt a dangerous aura behind him. Just as he turned around, he was met with the woman’s fist squarely on his chin. He was sent flying several meters back, landing heavily on the ground!
Bang!
The remaining three men couldn’t help but be stunned. They seemingly hadn’t expected that such a delicate-looking Omega would possess such immense strength—enough to knock a two-hundred-pound man flying with a single punch!
It was simply unbelievable!
The woman did not give them time to react. Taking advantage of their shock, she took down two more men like they were children. Finally, she delivered a heavy kick to the abdomen of the last man. He flew like a broken kite, crashing down right next to Jiang Nian’an. He spat out a large mouthful of blood, staining Jiang Nian’an’s leather shoes.
Is this Omega a devil?
Jiang Nian’an felt a dangerous gaze directed at her. She looked up at the graceful figure. The woman tilted her head provocatively, reached out, and removed her sunglasses, revealing a cold sneer on her stunningly beautiful face.
Jiang Nian’an’s pupils constricted suddenly. She looked on in utter disbelief!
This person… was actually Yao Anna!
She had no idea that Yao Anna possessed such incredible combat skills!?
“Forcing people against their will… that doesn’t seem like President Jiang’s style.”
Because of the commotion, many people were watching the scene from a distance. Fearing she would be recognized and cause trouble, Yao Anna put her sunglasses back on. She turned to look at the relieved Adams and the excited Peter, her red lips curling slightly.
“Teacher, Senior Brother.”
“I’m sorry, I’m late.”
Adams’s eyes were full of affection as a bright smile appeared on his face.
“Not late. Everything is just right.”
“Junior sister, I missed you so much!”
Unlike the stoic Adams, Peter had no reservations. He rushed forward, wanting to give Yao Anna a tight hug to prove how grateful he was!
Suddenly, the Alpha’s shocked voice came from behind.
“Adams is your teacher?!”
Jiang Nian’an never expected someone to jump in halfway, let alone that Yao Anna was actually Dr. Adams’s student!
Seeing Yao Anna and Peter embracing, a flash of murderous intent crossed her eyes.
“What if he is, and what if he isn’t?”
Yao Anna patted Peter’s back soothingly and gently pushed him away. She turned around, her lips parting slightly.
She didn’t dare leave her back exposed to the dangerous Jiang Nian’an! She had learned enough from the lessons of her past life.
Even through the sunglasses, Jiang Nian’an could still feel Yao Anna’s icy gaze. Her heart sank, and she remained silent.
“Whether he is my teacher or whether I am his student… that seems to have nothing to do with President Jiang!”
“I have one more piece of advice: you had better not set your sights on them. Otherwise… you know my temper.”
“Jiang Nian’an, my patience is limited. Please do not challenge my bottom line again.”
The corners of Yao Anna’s lips curled into a cold smile. she looked down slightly, her icy gaze falling on the men groaning on the ground. She threatened coldly, “Otherwise, I will make you end up just like them.”
She withdrew her gaze and looked back at Jiang Nian’an’s incredibly dark, handsome face. She smiled. “Take care of yourself.”
With that, she turned to support Dr. Adams’s arm and said, “Teacher, Senior Brother, let’s go. There was some traffic on the way here, so I parked a bit far away.”
Seeing her about to help with the suitcases, Peter quickly grabbed both of them and said with a chuckle, “It’s fine, it’s fine, I’ve got it. You and Teacher haven’t seen each other in a long time, you two talk.”
“Are you sure you don’t need help?” Yao Anna pursed her lips. Seeing Peter huffing and puffing with the two heavy suitcases, she couldn’t help but worry.
“Tch, who are you looking down on?” Peter raised his chin proudly and subtly flexed the muscles in his arm, humming, “Be a good girl, Junior Sister! How could I let a girl do this kind of physical labor?”
“Oh? Is that so?”
Yao Anna looked at Peter thoughtfully, a half-smile on her face. “Since you’re so powerful, Senior Brother, why were you hiding behind Teacher just now? And how did your phone get smashed?”
At the mention of the phone, Peter’s expression changed. He quickly dropped the suitcases and ran back toward the other side. He picked up the mangled remains of his phone and ran back.
By the time he returned, he was panting and covered in sweat. He gripped the suitcases and gave Yao Anna and Adams a brilliant, stubborn smile. “Alright, let’s go!”
Seeing Peter’s insistence on proving himself, Yao Anna didn’t force it. She linked her arm with Adams’s and walked ahead. The teacher and student talked happily. Hearing the laughter coming from in front of him, Peter felt a sense of satisfaction.
It was tiring, but it was worth it for his teacher and junior sister to finally reunite and catch up!
Not far behind them, Jiang Nian’an stood in place, watching the receding backs of the three. Her dark eyes were deep and gloomy.
Shen Mengjin got out of the car and helped the four fallen men up one by one before approaching Jiang Nian’an. Seeing the group was far away, she noticed Jiang Nian’an was still staring. She frowned, her expression grave.
“President…”
“Are we just going to let them go like this?”
Jiang Nian’an withdrew her gaze and glanced coldly at Shen Mengjin. “And if not?”
The men she brought had been completely defeated. Four men couldn’t even beat one “delicate” Omega; they were practically insta-killed by Yao Anna!
If she didn’t let them go, what else could she do?
Seeing Jiang Nian’an’s displeasure, Shen Mengjin sighed helplessly. She waved her hand, signaling her injured subordinates to go to the hospital.
Once the men left in the black van, Shen Mengjin looked at Jiang Nian’an with some hesitation. She had only met Yao Anna once and naturally knew she was Jiang Nian’an’s fiancée. The woman’s combat skills just now had truly shocked her; if Yao Anna hadn’t been hitting their own people, she would have cheered.
“The Madam’s combat prowess… is quite impressive.”
Jiang Nian’an pursed her lips and said nothing, turning to get into the car.
In truth, she had nothing to say. Before this, she never knew Yao Anna had such skills. Suddenly, she thought of something. Her expression changed, and she spoke to Shen Mengjin as she got into the driver’s seat. “I need you to do me a favor.”
Shen Mengjin paused and looked at the reflecting mirror to see Jiang Nian’an’s unreadable expression. Her CEO’s sudden politeness made her uncomfortable. She scratched her head.
“Just say the word. What do you need me to do?”
Jiang Nian’an narrowed her eyes and said deeply, “Help me test if Yao Zhenzhen also knows martial arts.”
Shen Mengjin was bewildered. “This… how do I test that?”
“Send someone to pretend to be a thug and test her skills.”
Shen Mengjin found Jiang Nian’an’s request inexplicable. She didn’t understand why the CEO would suddenly make such a demand, but she scratched her head and nodded in agreement.
“Alright, I’ll arrange it.”
Jiang Nian’an gave a soft “mm,” her voice sounding serious. “As soon as possible. This result is very important to me.”
“Understood.”
As Shen Mengjin drove, she asked, “President, do you think we can use the Madam’s connection to get Dr. Adams to perform the surgery on Yao Guangming?”
She hadn’t known before that Yao Anna knew Adams, but now that she knew she was his student, a plan formed in her mind.
Wouldn’t that be perfect?
