The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 70
In the car, Shu He glanced at Sang Jing from time to time.
She felt a strange, eerie presence about the girl, like one of the mysterious characters she had once written about. “Hello, my name is Sang Jing.”
Sang Jing seemed to sense the author’s scrutiny, turned her head, and smiled at her.
You shouldn’t hit a smiling person. Although Shu He thought the way Sang Jing had blocked the road moments ago was completely erratic, she still replied, “Hello.”
Sang Jing’s eyes darted to Lin Luoluo, who was sitting in the front passenger seat and tugging at the seat back, looking as if she wanted to squeeze in between them. Sang Jing said to the driver, “To the Tea Cafe in the Hutongs.”
Shu He kept observing the person next to her. This woman had a very delicate face, and the round corners of her eyes looked kind when she gazed at people. She wasn’t stunningly beautiful, but her demeanor was comfortable, except for those eyes that seemed to see through everything, making Shu He a little uneasy.
Shu He noticed Sang Jing’s gaze occasionally resting on the front seat, as if something were there. She shivered, finding it hard not to suspect that this woman might have discovered something.
After getting out of the car, Sang Jing’s leg was inconvenient, so Shu He and the driver helped her out. Sang Jing gave the driver a little extra for the fare, and the driver happily left.
“Please push me.”
Sang Jing asked Shu He. Shu He pushed her wheelchair into the courtyard.
Sang Jing had booked a private room. When the waiter served tea, she requested an extra cup and placed it on the empty seat.
When the waiter had removed the stools earlier, she hadn’t let him remove one, specifically leaving a stool there.
Shu He’s heart skipped a beat at her action.
There was no one sitting there, or rather, the one sitting there was not a human.
Amidst the faint fragrance of tea, Shu He asked, “Have we met before?”
Sang Jing shook her head, “No, we haven’t, but I know you. You are the author of The Wealthy Marriage Alliance.”
Shu He waved her hand, “You’ve mistaken me for someone else. I am an author, but I have not written that book.”
Sang Jing smiled and looked at her, then suddenly tilted her head to the side. Lin Luoluo, sitting on the remaining stool, said, “She is indeed the creator of The Wealthy Marriage Alliance, only she is still in the process of writing the script, and the title of the work hasn’t been finalized yet.”
Sang Jing nodded.
Shu He thought she was acting strangely.
“Who are you looking at?”
Sang Jing turned her head and asked steadily, “Can’t you see her? I thought you knew of her existence.”
Shu He’s mouth felt bitter, “You can see her?”
Sang Jing nodded.
Shu He sighed in relief, “Then are you here for her? She’s been around me for a while, and there have been some strange things happening.”
Sang Jing said, “I’m here for both of you.”
“You are a critical link in all of this.”
“Now, you are the only link left unfastened.”
“Please finish writing The Wealthy Marriage Alliance immediately!”
Shu He stared at her in astonishment.
Sang Jing murmured to herself, “The world-line is messed up. Two heroines have appeared in one world. If you want to return to your body, you must compete with her for the position of the heroine.”
This was said for Lin Luoluo to hear: “You cannot return to your body because your body doesn’t recognize you as the heroine right now. You can only exist once the creator finishes creating you.”
“The other you will not give up this opportunity. Be careful.”
Lin Luoluo was speechless.
The System seized the opportunity to speak: [I told you so. Is what she’s saying any different from what I said?]
[Shut up.] Sang Jing’s voice directly penetrated Lin Luoluo’s eardrum and reached the System. [If it weren’t for you, things wouldn’t be such a mess.]
The System grudgingly fell silent.
[I have discussed it with your System. If you want to set the world-line straight, we need time to go back, to return to the beginning, otherwise, something terrible will happen.]
Shu He was also trying to process this.
So, the person next to her was also the heroine of the book, the heroine of the script she was currently writing, and the two heroines were competing for the position of the lead?
She was still very confused.
Suddenly, a person screamed outside the private room.
“A murder!!!”
Lin Luoluo immediately phased through the wall and saw blood splattered all over the wall. A person with a weapon was swinging it at the service staff.
“Look down on me? I used to be a billionaire! No, I was just a worker! No, I’m rich…” He clutched his head and slammed it against the wall desperately, “I’m rich, I’m rich… I’m not a pauper! I don’t want to work!”
The police arrived quickly and took the criminal away. Lin Luoluo’s heart was pounding.
Sang Jing and Shu He stayed in the private room until the police’s routine questioning was over and they were allowed to leave.
The three people were silent on the way. Sang Jing wanted to go to Shu He’s house to see the script she was working on, so the three of them took a taxi.
While waiting for the taxi, Sang Jing said, “Did you see that? This is the consequence of the world forcibly merging. Many people are becoming confused about their current identity, falling into chaos. Similar incidents will be endless.”
Shu He looked horrified.
Lin Luoluo asked Sang Jing: [How can time be reversed?]
[Once you return to your body, your System and I will switch back. Your mission has failed, and the punishment is to start over.]
Lin Luoluo asked: [Then what does my current experience count for?]
Sang Jing said: [If you want to create a peaceful world for your family and loved ones, then rewind time. If you don’t want to, once you return to your body, no one can stop you.]
[Don’t listen to her.] The System exclaimed: [How great is this world? You’re rich, you have loving family, a lover, and friends. What’s good about going back?]
Lin Luoluo paused for a moment, and her expression became dejected.
[I will think about it carefully.]
They encountered a few more car accidents on the road. The driver remarked, “Are these people crazy?”
They returned to Shu He’s rented apartment in silence. Shu He stood awkwardly in the not-very-tidied-up room and said, “I’ve been too busy lately, so I haven’t had time to clean.”
“It’s alright.” Sang Jing was understanding. “You’re busy writing every day, so you really don’t have time to clean the house.”
The other person’s words made Shu He blush a little. She took out the outline given to her by the other party and showed it to Sang Jing: “This is what they required me to write. I’m stuck on the first scene. They want the second female lead to instantly captivate the male lead upon her appearance, but what I wrote wasn’t accepted by her.”
Sang Jing glanced at it and found that the current outline was very different from the broadcast version of the TV drama she had seen. The script must have been polished several times before appearing to the public. She thought for a moment and said, “Though I know this isn’t right, and it counts as interfering with your creation, time is urgent now. I know the plot after your creation. I will tell it to you, and you can write it, okay?”
Shu He couldn’t be more eager.
This was practically her exclusive cheat.
To be honest, she was already exhausted by this script. This way of writing didn’t work, that way of writing didn’t work. The biggest investor wouldn’t let up, and she could only revise the manuscript over and over, making her sick. Now that she had someone who knew the subsequent plot, that was perfect.
Sang Jing and Shu He got busy. Lin Luoluo floated in the air. She was very afraid of the world-line changing again and again. If all of this was caused by the second female lead, and the other party knew she now had an engagement with Gu Beichen, would she return regardless of everything? What should she do then?
Time slowly passed. With Sang Jing’s addition, Shu He’s script creation progressed quickly, essentially changing every day. The investor’s revision requests also became fewer and fewer, and the script was about to be finalized.
Online, theories about past and present lives were also emerging endlessly. Many people were confused by two different sets of memories. The number of patients received by hospital psychiatry departments was rising sharply, and the number of suicides was updated daily. The world was as if it had finally gone crazy.
“The number of suicides has risen sharply this year, with ten cases just yesterday…”
“Residents are asked to pay attention to their mental health, not to believe or spread rumors.”
“A celestial dog is devouring the moon. This is a sign of great inauspiciousness!”
…
There were all kinds of rumors online. Lin Luoluo leaned close to Sang Jing to look at the phone. Sang Jing closed the phone, and Lin Luoluo floated to the side, shutting down emotionally. Sang Jing asked, “Are you stuck here every day?”
Lin Luoluo propped her chin and said, “I can stay a little further from the author recently, but I still can’t go too far. If I go too far, I get bounced back.”
Sang Jing nodded, “That must be the System’s doing.”
Lin Luoluo floated back over, “It? Why would it do that?”
Sang Jing gave a slight, knowing smile, “Because it probably wants this world to be a little more chaotic.”
“How have you been lately?” Lin Luoluo asked with concern, “I couldn’t reach you in the end. The butler at the Gu family said you had gone home.”
Sang Jing shrugged, “The usual. Let’s not talk about that. Have you made up your mind?”
Lin Luoluo shook her head gloomily, “I don’t know how to choose.”
“No need to rush. You still have time,” Sang Jing said. “It’s not too late to make your choice when the second female lead appears.”
Shu He had been in seclusion for ten days and finally finished the script. She handed it to Sang Jing.
Sang Jing had been staying at Shu He’s place for the past few days, chatting with Lin Luoluo when she was free. Upon receiving the script, Sang Jing looked much more relaxed. She flipped through it page by page and asked Shu He, “Has it been sent?”
Shu He nodded, yawning. “I need to go to sleep. Make yourselves at home.” With that, she collapsed onto the bed and slept for an entire day before waking up.
When she woke up, the house was empty. There was a sticky note on the coffee table in the living room.
[I’ve taken her with me. Thank you for your hospitality these past few days.]
Shu He was stunned and scratched her head uncomfortably.
“Why did she leave so quickly? We were going to celebrate with a meal.”
The people from the Gu family came to pick up Sang Jing. Lin Luoluo followed her. With Sang Jing around, the distance restriction was lifted. When Sang Jing was brought back, the Gu residence was in chaos. Gu Beichen was kneeling in the living room, his back straight.
Mr. Gu roared, “Get out! Get far away from me! I’ll pretend I never had a son like you! You unfilial child!”
Gu Beichen’s mother, Sang Tian, pounded on her son’s shoulder, “Talk properly to your father. Are you really going to disown your father and mother for that woman? We are all doing this for your own good! She’s only after your money! Hurry up and admit your mistake, and your father will let you come back!”
“Mom!” Gu Beichen was in agony. “I don’t want to whitewash the truth anymore! You and Dad are clearly miserable! Why don’t you get a divorce?”
“Stop interfering with me. I love He Jin, and I love her even if she can’t bring anything to my career!”
“Gu Beichen, are you crazy?!” Sang Tian slapped him across the face!
“Are you really going to throw everything away for an outside woman! Do you know how much suffering I’ve endured for you all these years! Is this how you repay me?”
Mr. Gu watched with cold eyes.
He wasn’t short of sons; if this one wasn’t up to par, there was another.
Compared to Gu Beichen’s willful and disappointing behavior, his other illegitimate son was clearly much more satisfying to him.
Sang Jing stood by the door, then silently retreated, quietly going upstairs through the back door.
She said, “I’m going home to rest my injury and keep a low profile. My aunt is about to go crazy.”
In The Wealthy Marriage Alliance, Sang Tian’s madness was much more severe than this. If it weren’t for He Jin’s shrewdness, Sang Tian might have been paralyzed in bed for the rest of her life by now.
Lin Luoluo looked at the family and sighed with great sadness.
The outwardly glamorous wealthy family was inwardly rotten like a piece of deadwood.
“You just said the second female lead is coming soon. How do you know so much?” Lin Luoluo asked.
Sang Jing looked a bit tired.
“The System told me.”
“It told you all this?”
A cold smirk emerged on Sang Jing’s lips. If it didn’t talk, she had ways to deal with it.
Unlike Lin Luoluo, who was born with the destiny of a heroine, what she wanted, she could only fight for herself.
Lan Yingying got the script and immediately gathered the cast and crew for filming. Meanwhile, she drove alone to the Lin residence. Sitting in the car, she looked at the house where she had lived for more than twenty years and asked the System: [You said that if I got the author to write the script, the future would be exactly like the script, and the world had already merged. As long as I can reclaim my body, I will be the heroine of the new world.]
As the heroine, the world would naturally revolve around her. She would get whatever she wanted.
Lan Yingying knocked on the Lin family’s door. Only Tan Yi was home.
She hadn’t been in the mood for social outings lately, spending every day at home with her daughter, hoping her daughter would wake up soon. When the maid told her someone was looking for her outside, she was surprised because she had turned down all gatherings.
The maid couldn’t hide the shock in her eyes: “Please go and see, the person outside… she looks so much like Miss!”
