The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 46
“What, the male and female leads, the male lead’s unrequited love, and all her pursuers are all in the same place now?”
Sang Jing’s head was pounding.
“They’re not going to fight, are they…”
She peeked at the flower arrangement teacher, wanting to go watch the commotion.
This kind of scene was a once-in-a-thousand-years event. It was all her aunt’s fault for signing her up for this bridal course; otherwise, she would have seen it when Gu Beichen came home today. Maybe she could have even used the opportunity to follow the male lead.
She cautiously whispered to the system: [Do you think it’s still not too late for me to find the male lead and go watch the drama?]
The system countered: [Then what excuse are you going to use to slip away?]
That was a good question. Seeing a bride-to-be in her group had already finished a perfect bouquet, Sang Jing suddenly clutched her stomach and cried out in pain.
Her face was contorted, successfully drawing the teacher’s attention. Sang Jing was granted half a day’s leave.
She exited the classroom and stretched.
No one was watching her anymore; it was truly comfortable not having to constantly maintain her image as a well-bred lady. Sang Jing’s eyes sparkled. She hailed a taxi on the street to go watch the fun, planning to say her aunt had sent her to find Gu Beichen when she arrived.
Plan complete!
Sang Jing reached out to hail a taxi, but surprisingly, she failed at the very first step. After only two steps, she was bumped into by a figure. The person’s skateboard flew into the air, and they landed in her arms, while Sang Jing, unfortunately, ended up as a human cushion, letting out a painful sound.
Her foot! It hurt so much!
The fake injury became a real one. Sang Jing sprained her ankle and was sent to the hospital.
At Zhang Qiu’s house.
Grandma woke up from a nap and walked out of the room, seeing four handsome boys sitting in the living room. She thought she was dreaming, otherwise, how could there be unfamiliar children in the house after waking up? If she hadn’t recognized Gu Beichen and Dongfang Qing, she would have truly thought she was old and confused. How else could so many people have appeared out of thin air after a nap?
Zhang Qiu was washing cups, and Lin Luoluo followed her tentatively.
Before seeing her, she had so much she wanted to say, but once she was actually there, she became timid, softly saying, “I’ll help you.”
Zhang Qiu smiled at her, handed her the cup to dry, and then went to boil water to make tea.
Since they had all come, she couldn’t just send them away without even offering a cup of water.
The boys greeted Grandma one by one. She confusedly moved toward the kitchen and saw a lovely, jade-like girl inside. The girl’s appearance was quite endearing.
Grandma smiled and slowly asked, “Qiūqiū, are these all your friends?”
Zhang Qiu nodded.
“Grandma, you go sit down. I’ll be done here soon.”
“Just serving tea won’t do. There are candies and dried fruits under the cupboard over there. Take them out for everyone to eat; they’re all our local specialties,” Grandma instructed.
“Has everyone eaten? If not, Grandma will cook right now.”
“It’s no trouble, Grandma,” Lin Luoluo quickly interjected. “We’ve all eaten. Please don’t trouble yourself.”
“Then you come out with Grandma and let Qiūqiū handle things. You’re a guest; there’s no reason for a guest to help.”
Lin Luoluo had originally followed Zhang Qiu inside because she had something to say to her. Having her momentum blocked, she immediately softened, gently saying, “Grandma, I’ll help you out then.”
As the two reached the doorway, the gazes in the living room immediately turned their way. Seeing it wasn’t Zhang Qiu, Gu Beichen and Mu Yunchun’s eyes instantly looked away. Dongfang Qing slowly nodded at Lin Luoluo. Lin Xiangdong leaned over and smiled, “Hello, Grandma. This is my sister, Lin Luoluo, whom I just told you about.”
“Are you all here to play in our area? Later, let Zhang Qiu take you out for a look around,” Grandma said kindly.
Lin Xiangdong seized the opportunity to occupy Grandma’s other side and said, “Yes, we specifically came to find her.”
Lin Luoluo also said softly, “My sister told me a lot about Pipi. I wanted to come and meet it.”
Afraid that Pipi would get excited and frighten these delicate guests if it saw so many people, Grandma had shut Pipi away.
Grandma smiled when she heard this: “Then I’ll take you to see Pipi.”
“Grandma, I’ll go too!” Lin Xiangdong quickly followed along. The living room was instantly left with Gu Beichen, his face dark, and Mu Yunchun, who was smiling as sweetly as the spring breeze but whose forced expression was actually visible in his eyes. Dongfang Qing looked from side to side and couldn’t hold back his laughter: “How come you’re all speechless when you see Grandma? You were all talking so much earlier when you saw Zhang Qiu.”
Gu Beichen usually had a cold expression, and now it was even colder. He looked at Mu Yunchun with a cold face: “What are you doing here?”
Mu Yunchun chuckled: “What about you? Ex-boyfriend?”
Gu Beichen’s eyes blazed with anger as he looked at Mu Yunchun, “At least I’m still the ex-boyfriend.”
He emphasized the word “boyfriend,” implying that he had at least been Zhang Qiu’s boyfriend, while Mu Yunchun, the defeated rival, was nothing.
This ignited Mu Yunchun’s fury, and he said in a low voice, “Gu Beichen, you and I both know what happened back then. If you hadn’t deliberately said those things to provoke me, I wouldn’t have made a bet with you over Zhang Qiu.”
“I’ve figured it out over the years. You deliberately let Zhang Qiu overhear our conversation, making her think I was someone who would casually use the person I liked as a bet against someone else.”
“She is a living person, not a wager.”
“Gu Beichen, do you think you’re not despicable for winning me that way?”
Gu Beichen stared coldly at Mu Yunchun. They locked eyes, sparks flying in the air.
His eyes were dark.
Gu Beichen asked himself; he had indeed used tricks in pursuing Zhang Qiu. Therefore, facing Zhang Qiu’s rejection, it was hard for him to speak out, otherwise, how could a young man in the prime of his life resist not having contact with the person he liked?
Now it was Mu Yunchun’s turn to sneer.
Dongfang Qing was unaware of this history between them and advised, “Forget it, forget it. That’s all in the past. Everyone should look forward.”
“And you.”
Mu Yunchun and Gu Beichen both turned to look at Dongfang Qing, especially Mu Yunchun, who scoffed, “You wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
“It’s our business. Why did you call Lin Xiangdong?”
Dongfang Qing looked innocent: “Dongzi is our friend. When he asked where I was, I naturally had to tell him the truth.”
“And let him bring Lin Luoluo over?” Gu Beichen said slowly.
Since they knew why they were gathered here, they should have known not to let Lin Luoluo come. Otherwise, things would become too complicated.
How could women be involved in men’s affairs?
Dongfang Qing chuckled, “How about we consider this the last gathering before I head abroad? It’s been a while since we all got together.”
Mu Yunchun and Gu Beichen reluctantly nodded.
Zhang Qiu emerged, carrying the tea. Seeing that the people left in the living room hadn’t started a commotion, she set the tea on the table. Dongfang Qing familiarly took a cup and whispered to her, “They’re watching Pipi.”
Zhang Qiu knew he was referring to the whereabouts of Lin Luoluo and Lin Xiangdong.
She nodded, then went back to the kitchen and brought out the candies and dried fruits Grandma had mentioned.
Gu Beichen and Mu Yunchun sat on opposite sides of the living room, far apart, finding each other’s presence an annoyance. Yet, they were frustrated that Dongfang Qing had gotten in first to show courtesy.
Although they knew the guy claimed he wasn’t interested in Zhang Qiu, a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ never spoke the truth.
If he truly wasn’t interested, he should keep his distance, like Lin Xiangdong, who never sought out Zhang Qiu.
Gu Beichen found Dongfang Qing inexplicably irritating, yet he was wary of his delicate health, unable to provoke him freely as he did with Mu Yunchun.
Zhang Qiu put the items down and said, “Eat up.”
“Once you’re done, get lost,” she said, her expression tranquil but her words sharp. “My home is small and cannot host people like you.”
“What about me?” Dongfang Qing asked innocently.
“You too, get lost.” Didn’t Zhang Qiu understand Dongfang Qing? He loved a good spectacle and was always stirring up trouble.
Perhaps because of his inherent poor health, he loved to be in the middle of a crowd.
Dongfang Qing touched his nose, realizing Zhang Qiu’s joke had gone too far.
However, even he hadn’t expected so many people to show up.
Dongfang Qing whispered, “I’m sorry, I just thought it would be nice to get everyone together.”
Zhang Qiu sighed helplessly, “I know. You watch these two guys. I’ll go check on Dongzi.”
Zhang Qiu was almost afraid to say Lin Luoluo’s name, fearing this was all a delusion. In a place where no one else noticed, only she felt a flutter because of Lin Luoluo’s presence.
She had thought Lin Luoluo might come, but it was just a passing thought.
She hadn’t deliberately used that social media post to provoke anyone; it was just a photo taken like a friend would.
She hadn’t expected Lin Luoluo to be jealous, but she certainly hadn’t expected her to actually show up.
The moment she saw Lin Luoluo, the world blossomed for her. Zhang Qiu seemed to see the courtyard walls covered in flowers, and those flowers would never fade; they would only bloom for her.
Pushing open the side door to the bedroom, cheerful laughter drifted from the balcony. Grandma was sitting in a chair, Lin Luoluo was squatting by her knee playing with Pipi, and Lin Xiangdong was leaning against the wall on the other side. All three were smiling, their expressions warm.
The scene was exactly like one of her dreams. Pipi was very gentle with girls, nudging and snuffling against Lin Luoluo. The big dog was docile, and Lin Luoluo was petting Pipi’s head and chatting with Grandma.
The old woman spoke very slowly and was a little repetitive, but Lin Luoluo didn’t seem annoyed and talked with the elder patiently.
Lin Xiangdong yawned, turned his head, and noticed Zhang Qiu had arrived.
He waved at Zhang Qiu, who slowly walked over.
Lin Luoluo heard the footsteps and turned her head to look.
She was squatting; Zhang Qiu was standing.
The pair of legs stopped right beside her. Lin Luoluo stared at Zhang Qiu’s trousers, momentarily stunned, and felt a rush of self-consciousness. She stood up. Suddenly, Pipi, the dog she was playing well with, barked twice. The large dog jumped up, and as it landed, its body accidentally bumped Lin Luoluo’s knee. Lin Luoluo stumbled sideways, falling straight into Zhang Qiu’s arms, who held her tightly.
In that instant, their eyes met.
Black eyes staring into dark eyes. Lin Luoluo didn’t know why she was suddenly afraid to look. She lowered her head in embarrassment, feeling a tight grip around her waist, so tight she could barely breathe.
But the hands were quickly released. Grandma worriedly questioned, “Are you okay? Pipi, why are you being so naughty?”
Lin Xiangdong was also startled. Seeing that it was just the big dog being playful, he quietly started scolding the dog.
Only Pipi whined pitifully. Hadn’t the owner just signaled for him to stand upright? Pipi lay on the ground, confused why the owner hadn’t given him a reward. Every time a guest came, he would get a treat for doing that.
“We’re not playing with Pipi anymore,” Grandma declared with a slight huff, preparing to get up and leave.
Lin Luoluo came back to her senses, hugging one arm with the other, and licked her lips, “Grandma, I just got scared by accident, it has nothing to do with Pipi.”
“He is too naughty. Let’s go out,” Zhang Qiu naturally took Lin Luoluo’s arm and led her out, leaving only Pipi whining and scratching at the door in the room.
“Awoooooo! Awoooooo!”
