The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 47
The silly dog was unfairly locked inside the house.
Lin Luoluo was led out by Zhang Qiu, feeling uneasy inside. Before she could even speak, the living room was blocked by two “door gods.”
“Zhang Qiu!!”
Gu Beichen and Mu Yunchun spoke in unison.
Zhang Qiu frowned and hid Lin Luoluo behind her.
Zhang Qiu looked at Dongfang Qing, who spread his hands innocently.
Mu Yunchun spoke first: “I suggest we go to a private restaurant outside for a small drink to see Dongfang Qing off.”
Gu Beichen scoffed: “That’s old-fashioned. Young people like us should go crazy at a bar.”
Mu Yunchun glared angrily at Gu Beichen. He was a few months older than Gu Beichen, but he wasn’t old enough to be a relic.
Gu Beichen stared at him with a cold face. Zhang Qiu said expressionlessly: “Dongfang Qing, you decide.”
“If you ask me, we should go for street-side barbecue (lù chuàn). It’s dark, we can sit by the lake, eat some skewers, and have a little drink. That’s the best!” Lin Xiangdong poked his head out from behind them and said.
Lin Luoluo was squeezed by Lin Xiangdong and pressed against Zhang Qiu’s back.
The small girl curled up behind her made Zhang Qiu’s heart soften into a piece of marshmallow, feeling like a little person was constantly jumping inside.
“Let’s go for barbecue,” Dongfang Qing decided, choosing to listen to Lin Xiangdong so as not to offend anyone.
Lin Xiangdong said, “Then I’ll call and reserve a spot. Everyone can drive over.”
“Lin Luoluo, let’s go,” Lin Xiangdong instructed, “Zhang Qiu, you ride in my car later. Luoluo specifically came to find you, and she hasn’t even had a chance to talk.”
Everyone in the room suddenly stared over. Lin Luoluo’s pressure increased, and she nodded with difficulty.
Gu Beichen frowned, only then noticing Lin Luoluo, who was shrinking behind Zhang Qiu.
His thick brows furrowed with displeasure: “Lin Luoluo, you didn’t follow me here, did you?”
Lin Luoluo just wanted to slap Gu Beichen across the face to make him realize his own importance. She pushed Zhang Qiu aside, grabbed her wrist, and stated actively: “I came here for Zhang Qiu.”
Zhang Qiu suddenly broke into a smile.
The joy on her lips was unrestrained, like a thousand pure white pear trees suddenly blossoming.
She took the initiative, holding Lin Luoluo’s hand, and said, “Come with me to say goodbye to Grandma.”
The two girls left, leaving the four men staring at each other. Lin Xiangdong didn’t get involved in their business. He waved his hand and walked away freely: “I’ll start the car. You guys take Gu Beichen’s car. Those who don’t want to can take a taxi.”
With that, he turned and left, and they could hear him making a phone call from far away.
“I need a table by the lake. There are six of us.”
Gu Beichen and Mu Yunchun exchanged a look. He repeated: “If you don’t want to ride with me, take a taxi.”
Mu Yunchun had come alone and hadn’t driven, so he naturally knew who Gu Beichen’s words were aimed at. He turned to Dongfang Qing and said, “I’ll ride in your car.”
Dongfang Qing’s driver was naturally nearby. As a famous sickly young master, a driver was standard. Dongfang Qing nodded: “Okay.”
Gu Beichen scoffed and also walked out.
Lin Xiangdong sent the barbecue restaurant’s address to the group. Lin Luoluo and Zhang Qiu said their goodbyes to Grandma, and the two girls walked out hand-in-hand. There was no one left in the courtyard. It was dark, and they stood in the yard. The shadows of the trees swayed gently in the wind, and the fragrance of flowers was pleasant. Zhang Qiu asked softly, “Didn’t you say you couldn’t make it?”
How could Lin Luoluo explain that her eyes had turned red with jealousy when she saw the photo on his social media feed?
Zhang Qiu usually disliked posting on social media, but posting today was a first, indicating she cared deeply about this person. Perhaps she wanted to keep a memory, or perhaps it was because the person was Dongfang Qing.
The book mentioned that all of these boys had a liking for the female lead; some kept it hidden, and some showed it.
For a girl as exceptional as Zhang Qiu, Lin Luoluo also had the same concern as Gu Beichen—worrying that someone else would get there first, especially since she was currently unattached.
Her worry and her fear, she dared not show, only gently squeezing Zhang Qiu’s hand and softly pleading, “Sister, I was wrong.”
Her voice was soft, like a fluffy white rice cake in a steamer. The moment the lid was lifted, the heat steamed her face, but it was incredibly endearing.
Zhang Qiu looked at her, and Lin Luoluo didn’t avoid it. The two gazed at each other.
Zhang Qiu asked, “Are you still running away?”
Lin Luoluo shook her head, only saying: “Sister, can you give me some time? I will deal with my own affairs and then come back to you.”
The matter seemed to have been resolved, and yet it also seemed not to be.
Zhang Qiu’s chest was pounding. That drum seemed to be constantly beaten. She said yes hoarsely, and then watched Lin Luoluo quietly for a while, saying, “But I won’t wait for you for too long.”
An alarm bell rang in Lin Luoluo’s heart. She pursed her lips and forced a difficult smile.
“Okay.”
Zhang Qiu reached out, gently stroking her cheek, as if comforting her, or as if longing for something, but in the end, her hand just slid past her face, brushing her eye corner.
“Don’t cry,” she said softly. “I will wait for you.”
…
“What took you so long?” Lin Xiangdong was waiting for them outside the door. Gu Beichen and the others had already left.
Lin Luoluo was somewhat subdued, but her eyes would flash with brightness when they were on Zhang Qiu.
Lin Xiangdong observed them.
Zhang Qiu’s face showed nothing, but Lin Luoluo seemed a little down.
Did they resolve things?
Lin Xiangdong never thought there would be a day when he had to worry about his sister’s relationships.
Lin Xiangdong opened the car door for the two girls. After they were seated, he turned and got into the car, starting the engine and musing: “It’s been a while since we all gathered. I didn’t expect all of us to be here this time.”
After saying that, Lin Xiangdong also chuckled.
He grinned widely and happily. The car drove slowly, gradually pulling out of the alley.
The old street was incredibly lively at night. Warm yellow lights shone on people’s faces, giving them a jade-like glow. The streets were crowded with tourists, and the vendors doing small business on both sides of the road popped up like mushrooms after the rain at night, the atmosphere of life (yānhuǒ qì) was thick.
The car slowly pulled out of the old street. Lin Luoluo stared blankly out the window when suddenly a hand reached over to her knee, squeezed her hand, and then let go. Lin Luoluo turned to look at Zhang Qiu, feeling something being slipped into her palm. Zhang Qiu smiled at her and lowered her head to reply to a message on her phone.
Lin Luoluo opened her hand to find a White Rabbit creamy candy.
She wasn’t particularly fond of candy, but she didn’t dislike it either.
She slowly peeled back the wrapper, put it in her mouth, and Lin Luoluo found it incredibly sweet.
After replying to her message, Zhang Qiu tilted her head and focused her gaze on Lin Luoluo. The streetlights outside shone into the car, flickering brightly and dimly. Night had completely fallen, and vehicles flowed in an endless stream on the road. The slight sheen of moisture on Lin Luoluo’s lips looked exceptionally dazzling.
Zhang Qiu licked her lips and suddenly recalled a phrase: A kiss after eating strawberries is sweet.
Would a kiss after eating a White Rabbit candy be sweet too?
Zhang Qiu’s heart started to burn. She tried her best to restrain her gaze.
But Lin Luoluo still noticed her look.
Their eyes were drawn to each other like magnets, and in the darkness, a sense of ambiguity arose. Lin Luoluo took the initiative to lay her hand on the back of Zhang Qiu’s hand. Zhang Qiu squeezed her fingers, slowly rubbing them.
Lin Xiangdong occasionally chattered in the front.
Zhang Qiu and Lin Luoluo responded with a word or two in between.
Their eyes turned away, but their hands remained tightly linked.
Lin Xiangdong saw this in the rearview mirror and chuckled openly.
Sure enough, meeting and talking it out solved everything. Isn’t this much better?
Young girls have big tempers, which flare up and fade just as quickly.
He had experience.
They arrived at the barbecue restaurant, whose golden sign was exceptionally eye-catching.
Lin Xiangdong parked the car, told the attendant their private room number, and was immediately led over.
Gu Beichen and the others had just arrived too and were looking at the menu.
They were having a barbecue by the lake, separated by bamboo and rock gardens. In the middle was a large artificial lake. Occasionally, they could hear indistinct loud conversations from nearby, but as long as people didn’t shout, their area was essentially a private environment.
At this place, you could have a chef grill for you or do it yourself. The private room had a small stream flowing through it, and ingredients constantly drifted down from the upper reaches of the stream, providing a unique charm.
Lin Xiangdong liked to do things himself. He couldn’t sit still, so he immediately waved his hand, selected a few dishes, and announced he would do the grilling.
The others didn’t stop him and let him get to it.
Lin Luoluo worried that the stuff her “Stinky Brother” grilled would be inedible, so she still ordered a few cooked dishes that could be eaten right away. Lin Xiangdong, with his keen eyesight, spotted this and cried out for a long time. Lin Luoluo rolled her eyes, too lazy to pay attention to him.
She sat right next to Zhang Qiu. The two girls sitting alone wasn’t particularly conspicuous, but Zhang Qiu’s frequent attention to Lin Luoluo made Mu Yunchun frown. He slowly said, “Zhang Qiu, you should sit down and eat too. There are waiters here. Luoluo can call for anything she wants herself.”
Zhang Qiu paused for a moment and then slowly smiled, “It’s fine, these are small things.”
Lin Luoluo pursed her lips. She tugged at Zhang Qiu’s sleeve and said sternly, “Sit down!”
Zhang Qiu obediently sat down.
Lin Luoluo put the chopsticks in her hand and began frequently serving Zhang Qiu food. Then she poured her a glass of wine, and after pouring it, she used a soft, gentle voice to call out, “Sister, why don’t I feed you a drink? You worked so hard taking care of me just now.”
This startled Zhang Qiu, who instantly sat up straight and said, “That sounds nice.”
Now, Lin Luoluo was caught in an awkward position.
She looked at Zhang Qiu with teary eyes. Zhang Qiu gazed back with a smile, seemingly enjoying her starting-to-redden cheeks and already crimson ear tips.
Lin Luoluo picked up the wine glass, her hand trembling uncontrollably. Her face flushed, she tried to feed it to Zhang Qiu’s lips. Zhang Qiu truly felt like a depraved King Zhou, forcing a minister’s daughter to submit to him.
Her eyes gradually deepened. Lin Luoluo’s fingers were close to losing grip on the small wine cup, and the wine spilled out. Gu Beichen suddenly said, “Enough!”
He abruptly looked at Mu Yunchun and said, “Aren’t you ashamed, a grown man bothering a young girl?”
Mu Yunchun was staring at Zhang Qiu and Lin Luoluo, his brows knitted in a knot.
He seemed to be missing something he hadn’t figured out yet, but he instinctively retorted, “A twenty-year-old ‘young girl’? That’s rich, Gu Beichen. You’re not happy seeing your fiancée and ex-girlfriend together? Or do you want to enjoy the benefits of having both?”
These words were provocative. Gu Beichen stared at Mu Yunchun with sharp eyes. Mu Yunchun’s ‘peach blossom’ eyes showed disdain. Dongfang Qing played peacemaker, saying, “Everyone is here today to see me off. Shouldn’t we raise our glasses and celebrate my farewell?”
Lin Xiangdong also came over holding a handful of skewers and said, “Count me in.”
He put the grilled skewers onto a plate, raised his glass heartily, and declared, “May you be free of sickness and sorrow from now on!”
A smile instantly blossomed on Dongfang Qing’s face, seemingly dispelling even his deep-seated pallor.
He drank the whole glass.
Gu Beichen and Mu Yunchun also calmed down and said a few auspicious words.
Lin Luoluo and Zhang Qiu followed suit. After that, Gu Beichen and Mu Yunchun quietly drank their sorrowful wine. Lin Xiangdong, having gotten his fill of grilling, handed it over to the chef and chatted with Dongfang Qing on the side.
Lin Luoluo saw that no one was paying attention to them, leaned into Zhang Qiu’s ear, and breathed lightly, “Sister, did you really want me to feed you wine just now?”
Zhang Qiu’s ear twitched from the tickle, and the tingling sensation in her heart spread throughout her body. Although she hadn’t drunk much wine, she felt drunk already.
She grabbed Lin Luoluo’s arm under the table, forcefully pulling her towards her lap, but restrained herself due to the presence of others. She only pulled her a little closer and whispered softly, “If I want it, will you feed me?”
Lin Luoluo completely lost control of the heat on her face, which turned into a red apple.
Zhang Qiu released her with a smile, but her hand under the table still held onto Lin Luoluo’s hand. She picked up a skewer of grilled vegetables for her and said softly, “Eat. I was just teasing you.”
Only her eyes knew what she had just been thinking.
Lin Luoluo awkwardly couldn’t pull her hand away. She used her left hand to pick up the vegetables crookedly and slowly chewed them.
She really looks like a rabbit.
I really want to take a bite.
I wonder if she would cry?
Zhang Qiu lowered her eyes, downed the glass of wine in one gulp, concealing the stirring desire within her eyes.
