The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 33
In her earphones, a couple’s first confession of love was playing.
Lin Luoluo gradually got drawn into the story.
From a childhood crush, to chasing each other as they grew up, one person’s incomprehension and annoyance, one person letting go, and then the counter-chase.
A heart-fluttering romance.
As the end credits rolled, Lin Luoluo’s phone slipped, and she fell asleep.
She didn’t reply to the message, and Zhang Qiu knew she was asleep.
The screen in the projection room went dark, the movie ended, and Zhang Qiu whispered softly, “Goodnight, Luoluo.”
When she woke up in the morning, the phone was still clutched in her hand, one earbud was missing, and Lin Luoluo yawned, suddenly feeling like she’d had a wonderful night’s sleep.
Lin Xiangdong knocked on her bedroom door. “It’s Monday, don’t you have class this morning? I’m heading to school anyway, I’ll give you a ride.”
“Wait up! I’ll be ready in a second!” Lin Luoluo replied.
“Then hurry up. Mom made breakfast, I’m going to eat first.”
Lin Luoluo quickened her pace, tidying herself up. She styled her curly hair to look exquisite and pretty, put on a beautiful little skirt, and then checked herself in the mirror. She turned around, still feeling unsatisfied, grabbed the clothes next to her, looked at them, and fussed over her outfit, but finally settled on the first one: the navy blue JK uniform. It was full of youthful vitality and schoolgirl charm. She tied her hair up in a high ponytail, clipped on a cute hair clip, flashed a peace sign at the mirror, and rushed downstairs.
“Luoluo, do you have an event today? You’re dressed so prettily,” her mother, Tan Yi, asked curiously upon seeing her outfit.
Lin Luoluo held her bag, a little shy. “No special event, I just wanted to dress nicely.”
Tan Yi nodded and didn’t ask any more questions, but then instructed, “Lin Xiangdong, if you’re not too busy today, keep an eye on your sister. Otherwise, I’ll send the driver to pick her up.”
“Mom! It’s fine to have big brother with me! Don’t worry!” Lin Luoluo quickly winked at Lin Xiangdong, urging him to say the right thing, as she didn’t want to be monitored by someone sent from home.
Lin Xiangdong nodded casually. “I’ll be at school. I’ll deliver her there in one piece and bring her back.”
Tan Yi nodded in satisfaction and urged them, “Hurry up and eat, don’t be late for class.”
Lin Xiangdong ate quickly, gulping down a bowl of porridge and a few small buns. Seeing that he was finished, Lin Luoluo only drank a small bowl of porridge and was about to leave with her brother. Tan Yi, worried, chased after them and stuffed a sandwich into her hand.
“Eat this if you get hungry during class.”
Lin Luoluo accepted it, changed into her small leather shoes, and hurried to catch up. Lin Xiangdong was already in the car, laughing at her short legs, which made Lin Luoluo so angry she picked up her bag and smacked her stinky brother with it.
Lin Luoluo got into the passenger seat, and shortly after the car started, she covered her nose. “Bro, why are you so showy today? You even sprayed cologne, it stinks!”
“Cologne is supposed to smell good, how can it stink?” Lin Xiangdong suspiciously lifted his arm to take a sniff.
“It’s too strong. Did you use up a whole bottle of perfume? It smells strongly-stinky,” Lin Luoluo pinched her nose and rolled down the car window. Only then did her numb sense of smell feel a little restored.
“You’re just full of complaints,” Lin Xiangdong retorted, then asked uneasily, “Is it really too strong?”
Lin Luoluo aired out her distress, feeling a bit better, and rolled her eyes at her stinky brother. “You usually brag that you’re the most handsome guy in the world and never use external things like this, so why use it today?”
Lin Xiangdong coughed twice. “Go, go, don’t distract me from driving, stop talking nonsense.”
Lin Luoluo covered her mouth and laughed. She had a feeling something was up with Lin Xiangdong; he had never dressed up for anyone before.
The brother and sister bickered until they arrived at school. Lin Xiangdong said, “Come find me after class, don’t wander off.”
Lin Luoluo pouted. “I want to go to the hospital to see Zhang Qiu.”
“We’ll go together at noon after I’m done,” Lin Xiangdong said, uneasy. “I’ll take you to the hospital.”
He had asked someone to investigate the portrait Zhang Qiu gave him yesterday, but no useful information had turned up yet, so he was worried about Lin Luoluo encountering an accident.
Lin Luoluo nodded reluctantly. “Fine.”
Lin Xiangdong wanted to pat his stinky sister’s head, but Lin Luoluo dodged him. “Don’t mess up my hairstyle.”
“Go, go.” Lin Xiangdong waved his hand and went to find the teacher to prepare for the senior’s lecture.
Lin Luoluo hurried to the lecture hall. By the time she arrived, most of the people in the class had arrived. She chose a single seat in the back row, took out her book, and then pulled out her glasses from her bag, waiting for the bell to ring before beginning to study seriously.
Lin Luoluo had a mild case of pseudomyopia, and the degree was not high. She didn’t need to wear glasses in a normal-sized classroom, but she couldn’t see the blackboard clearly in a large tiered classroom like this one without them.
She listened and took notes diligently.
The reason she chose psychology in the real world was that she genuinely loved psychology.
The Applied Psychology major at Longhai University was ranked among the top in the country, with strong faculty. The teachers’ lectures were insightful, which was a new experience for Lin Luoluo.
She didn’t know that her serious studying look was a beautiful sight in the eyes of others.
The new transfer student hadn’t been here for many days and hadn’t fully integrated with everyone, but she was already well-known.
The reason was that all the people she associated with were prominent figures on campus. When she first transferred, Lin Xiangdong came to pick her up a few times, which led to a lot of campus gossip.
Some students in the class were curious about her and wanted to approach her, but were hesitant due to Lin Luoluo’s beautiful appearance, fearing rejection.
She looked like a porcelain doll in a shop window, clearly having been meticulously cared for while growing up. Everyone’s hesitation made them miss their chance.
After class, Lin Luoluo packed her things and checked the time. It was still early, so she slowly put everything into her bag.
Today, after class, the teacher assigned a small group practical assignment that required social investigation.
Lin Luoluo arrived late, and the class groups were already formed. She was hesitating whether to ask if someone could add her to their group or just complete the assignment alone when someone suddenly stood by her desk.
“Our group is missing one person, do you want to join?” the person asked.
Lin Luoluo looked up. It was a tall, thin girl wearing a black parka and frameless glasses. Her short, ear-length hair was dyed ‘grandma gray,’ and she had a black stud in her left ear. She was so trendy that Lin Luoluo felt like her rheumatism was about to flare up.
She was still deliberating when she heard the other person say, “We really need someone, please.”
Lin Luoluo softened—she hated turning down someone’s request—and nodded slightly in agreement.
“My name is Shu Bai, everyone calls me Er Bai, and you can too.”
“Ning Zi, Xiao Hua, this is our fourth team member.” Shu Bai waved to the left, where two girls, one plump and one thin, walked over.
All three were quite tall. Standing next to them, Lin Luoluo was a head shorter. Her small frame made her look even more delicate and lovely.
“This is Luo Ning,” Shu Bai introduced, pointing to the tall, very thin girl.
Luo Ning nodded at Lin Luoluo.
“This is Xue Hua,” Shu Bai said, resting her hand on the shoulder of the slightly plump, smiling girl.
“Hello.” Xue Hua was clearly more gentle and spoke more.
“We were just worried about having only three people and how to divide the work, so luckily you joined us.”
“The class size is an odd number, so our group was missing one person,” Xue Hua explained softly.
Luo Ning was colder, standing quietly beside them, holding Shu Bai’s school bag.
“I have a group chat, let me add you.” Shu Bai suggested, showing her phone’s QR code to add Lin Luoluo.
Lin Luoluo quickly scanned it, accepted the invitation, and was added to the three-person group chat.
“Want to go get some milk tea?” Shu Bai suggested.
Lin Luoluo pursed her lips and smiled apologetically. “Sorry, I have something else to do later. About the assignment, do you all have time this afternoon?”
Shu Bai asked Luo Ning and Xue Hua, then nodded. “Everyone is at school this afternoon.”
“Can we discuss it at the library?” Lin Luoluo asked.
Shu Bai nodded, and the other two had no issues either.
Lin Luoluo checked the time. The lecture was about to start, so she smiled at Shu Bai and excused herself.
After she left, the three of them strolled leisurely around the campus. Xue Hua’s boyfriend came to pick her up, so only Shu Bai and Luo Ning remained. Luo Ning said, “Our group wasn’t short of people.”
Shu Bai, her bag slung over her left shoulder, raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t it good to have one more person to do the work?”
“A triangle is the most stable shape,” Luo Ning replied.
Shu Bai whistled. “I have things to do. See you this afternoon.”
She took long, confident strides, and Luo Ning stopped, her lips tightly pressed as she watched Shu Bai’s retreating figure.
She knew that her kind—a cool-looking, long-haired T (butch/tomboy)—was never Shu Bai’s type. Shu Bai preferred cute P’s (femmes). Her preference had been consistent from freshman year until now, and she only pursued that type.
Maybe two T’s weren’t suitable for each other, but Luo Ning still wanted to try. You never know.
Lin Luoluo rushed to the lecture. Lin Xiangdong had reserved a seat for her, but the senior speaker was too famous, the seats were all occupied, and Lin Luoluo was late, so the seat couldn’t be held. He had no choice but to bring her backstage and warned her, “You stay right here, don’t cause any trouble.”
Lin Luoluo resisted the urge to roll her eyes and nodded.
Lin Xiangdong went off to be busy, and she wandered backstage. The senior hadn’t arrived yet, but the backstage area was already swamped with flowers and postcards sent to her, including flowers from the school and gifts from people outside.
Flipping through the cards, Lin Luoluo became curious about this senior.
She wondered what charisma she possessed to receive so much support. The passionate fans completely filled the classroom, and even the aisles and hallways were packed with people.
Glancing outside, Lin Luoluo gasped and quickly pulled her head back.
When Senior Yi Yushu arrived, there was a deafening clamor.
Lin Luoluo quickly moved further inside, out of the way. A group of people quickly dashed backstage to busy themselves with rehearsing the script.
Lin Luoluo saw her brother, Lin Xiangdong, tiptoeing in front of Senior Yi Yushu, looking completely unlike his usual confident self. He even stammered when he first spoke.
“W-welcome back to school, Senior Yi.”
“Don’t be nervous, student. I remember we worked together in the student council. Your name is Lin Xiangdong, right?”
“Senior still remembers me?” Lin Xiangdong’s eyes lit up.
“Of course, I remember. You won a lot of glory for the school during the university sports meet. You must be graduating soon, right?” Senior Yi smiled sweetly while applying her makeup.
“Y-yes, I am,” Lin Xiangdong couldn’t even speak properly.
“Thank you for your hard work today.”
“Boss, time’s up,” Yi Yushu’s assistant reminded her. Yi Yushu nodded, checked the schedule, and prepared to go on stage. Lin Xiangdong moved to the side, and at that moment, Lin Luoluo quietly walked over.
“Stinky brother.” She startled Lin Xiangdong abruptly.
“Do you walk without making a sound?” Lin Xiangdong patted his chest, watched Yi Yushu go on stage, and then glared at Lin Luoluo.
“So my stinky brother gets nervous, too?” Lin Luoluo teased with a giggle. Seeing Lin Xiangdong’s eyes glued to the front stage, she shoved him lightly. “If you want to go, hurry up and go.”
“Stay here and don’t run around. It’s crowded outside,” Lin Xiangdong warned uneasily.
“I know, you go on now.” Lin Luoluo waved her hand, hearing the enthusiastic applause outside.
She sent Lin Xiangdong off and searched for Yi Yushu on her phone. She actually found her.
Yi Yushu, born in 1998, a famous writer.
So, she was a writer.
Searching for her published works, she found that her books had quite a high profile online, and her column had five million fans.
Lin Luoluo quietly said, “Wow.” No wonder she was so famous.
A portion of the audience today consisted of her book fans.
Lin Luoluo clicked on the novel she was currently serializing and accidentally got lost in reading it. By the time she snapped back to reality, the lecture was nearing its end.
University students were passionately asking questions, many of which were related to the book’s content.
Lin Luoluo listened. Yi Yushu spoke with wit and charm, and the atmosphere was very lively.
She thought for a moment and sent a message to Zhang Qiu.
【It’s lively at school today. Senior Yi came back for a lecture, and so many people showed up.】
【I searched for Senior Yi’s book, and it’s quite good.】
Zhang Qiu, who was in the hospital finishing his IV drip and studying for the judicial exam, frowned and replied: 【Yi Yushu, the one who wrote “Me and My Love”?】
【Yeah, you know her?】 Lin Luoluo was curious.
【Stay away from her. She’s not normal.】 Zhang Qiu replied.
Lin Luoluo was about to ask another question when she suddenly felt a group of people approaching. She stood up. Yi Yushu, who was smiling and talking with the school leadership in front, suddenly stopped, looked her up and down, and asked, “Are you one of the students helping with the organization this time?”
Lin Luoluo looked at her in confusion, then at the school leaders, unsure whether to nod or shake her head, wondering how Yi Yushu had even noticed her.
Lin Xiangdong seemed to have disappeared to who knows where…
Just as she was internally flustered about how to answer, Yi Yushu suddenly pointed at her and said, “It’s her. Have her come with me for the signing. Excuse me, young student.”
Though Yi Yushu was smiling sweetly, Lin Luoluo inexplicably felt a chill crawl up her arm, making her shiver slightly.
