The Pursuit of Love After Divorcing My Cold Omega - Chapter 50
Moved by Each Other, Unable to Help Themselves
Xia Weichi had no other intentions; she simply wanted Yu Kunian’s entire family to treat Song Wenzhi with the importance she deserved. Although she had previously advised Song Wenzhi against marrying Yu Kunian—largely because she worried that elders like Yu Dai would make life difficult for her—now that Song Wenzhi had made her choice, Xia Weichi knew she could no longer dissuade her. Instead, she chose to do whatever she could to support her friend.
Xia Weichi admitted to herself that she didn’t know many people domestically, but at the very least, her current project was highly valued by the government, meaning the members of the committee had to treat her with a degree of respect. She wanted Yu Dai and Yang Jin to understand that Song Wenzhi was not some ordinary Omega with no backing; that was all.
Naturally, she wouldn’t tell Song Wenzhi these things. She simply came to deliver a wedding gift, and after a brief chat, she inquired about the whereabouts of Yu Kunian’s family.
Yu Kunian likely guessed Xia Weichi’s intent. As the only person among Song Wenzhi’s friends who could be said to have “background,” the words Xia Weichi had said to Yu Kunian that other day were likely the same ones she intended to say to Yu Dai and Yang Jin—though today, they would be phrased in a more polite manner. Yu Kunian did not stop her. She straightforwardly pointed out the direction for Xia Weichi; as for whether she had any private thoughts on the matter, no one knew.
Xia Weichi had booked a flight back for today, so she wouldn’t stay until the end of the wedding. After doing what she needed to do, she said her goodbyes to Song Wenzhi in advance and prepared to catch her flight.
“I’ll see Weichi out,” Song Wenzhi said to Yu Kunian.
Yu Kunian responded, “Alright.” She watched the figures of Song Wenzhi and Xia Weichi leaving together, her eyes filled with complex and difficult-to-discern emotions.
Perhaps she was staring too intently, for Yu Kunian didn’t even notice when Yu Sheng had come up behind her. The Omega suddenly spoke: “Sister, that Alpha friend of yours, Jiang Qiu…” Yu Sheng paused mid-sentence. She hadn’t expected that even now, saying that Alpha’s name would cause her heart to tremble inexplicably. “The Omega beside her, is she her girlfriend?”
Yu Sheng refused to give up hope. Even though she had seen Jiang Qiu and Wen Yan holding hands, she still wanted a definitive answer.
Yet, she seemed to have forgotten that she was the one who had let go first.
Yu Kunian was nearly startled by her. She turned around before saying, “Not a girlfriend, she’s her fiancée.”
The affairs of a wedding were both tedious and numerous. By the time Yu Kunian and Song Wenzhi finished all the procedures and returned home, the sky had already darkened. Without the noise of the guests, only the two of them remained in the house.
Both Yu Kunian and Song Wenzhi had drunk a bit of wine, though neither was completely drunk. The lights in the living room weren’t on. Yu Kunian poured some water and handed it to the Omega, who had already changed into loungewear and looked somewhat exhausted.
The moonlight from outside spilled in, illuminating the two of them. Yu Kunian sat beside Song Wenzhi with a smile on her lips, her gaze never leaving the Omega’s face.
Song Wenzhi finished her water before looking up. Likely due to the alcohol, her rationality began to blur. Meeting Yu Kunian’s gaze, Song Wenzhi’s gentle eyes were like stars in the sky. She smiled as well, but the Omega’s smile was faint, almost imperceptible in its curve; only the depths of her eyes overflowed with mirth, her pupils reflecting Yu Kunian’s silhouette.
The glass in her hand was taken away by the Alpha. Those warm fingertips brushed against the back of her hand like a small electric current, making Song Wenzhi’s eyelashes tremble slightly. She slowly lowered her gaze, her heartbeat suddenly becoming very loud for some reason.
In that instant, just as the Alpha was about to withdraw her hand, Song Wenzhi caught it. She swiftly grabbed Yu Kunian’s fingers, causing the Alpha to pause and lower her head as well.
As if after a moment of deliberation, the Omega leaned down. Strands of hair from her shoulder slid across Yu Kunian’s arm. Almost piously, mimicking the Alpha’s past actions, Song Wenzhi pressed her lips against Yu Kunian’s knuckles.
Surprise flickered in Yu Kunian’s eyes. The Omega before her very, very lightly kissed her hand—several times.
The kisses carried deep affection and the warmth of the Omega’s lips.
They left a gentle lip-print behind.
It was as if Song Wenzhi was offering up everything she had, an act that caused even her own breath to tremble slightly. After the kisses, she looked up again and spoke softly: “Yu Kunian.”
The Omega wanted to say so much, but she only called out the Alpha’s name. Today’s wedding occasionally made her feel dazed, but Yu Kunian had remained by her side throughout; in her line of sight, the Alpha had never strayed for even a moment.
She always wanted to call out Yu Kunian’s name, and hearing the Alpha respond to her over and over again brought her a sense of fulfillment.
Yu Kunian first set the glass down casually on the coffee table. Then, she quickly cupped Song Wenzhi’s cheeks, tilted her head toward the Omega, and as they drew closer, she captured Song Wenzhi’s lips.
The air began to grow heated, as did the people within it.
Being so close, they could both smell the scent of wine on each other. The aroma of red wine lingered around them. Song Wenzhi slowly closed her eyes, her hands moving to stroke Yu Kunian’s back, allowing herself to be enveloped by the Alpha’s shadow and completely submitting herself to Yu Kunian.
The breath in their mouths had become completely disordered. It wasn’t until they both needed to draw in fresh air that Yu Kunian released Song Wenzhi. The Alpha’s gaze became tender and lingering as her thumb brushed over the Omega’s skin. Panting slightly, she spoke: “Zhizhi…”
Song Wenzhi’s legs felt a bit weak from the kiss, but fortunately, she was currently sitting. However, the lipstick on her lips had completely smudged, the red marks at the corners of her mouth looking like water-thinned paint on a canvas, the color paler than before.
Yu Kunian leaned in once more, attempting to kiss away the lipstick from the Omega’s lips with light pecks. But since her own lipstick was the same, more kissing only added to the mess.
However, the Alpha’s smile only grew wider.
Yu Kunian pulled Song Wenzhi into her arms, her fingers lightly touching the Omega’s lips. She wiped them with a very gentle motion, and only after the smudged traces were gone did Yu Kunian meet Song Wenzhi’s eyes again. The atmosphere from just moments ago had not yet dissipated.
The dim night made one feel even more sentimental; even a few beams of moonlight were enough to reveal an irrepressible passion. The Alpha tucked a stray hair behind Song Wenzhi’s ear, and they kissed again.
During the process, a sudden cold sensation caused Song Wenzhi to open her eyes. She looked down and happened to see the ring on the Alpha’s finger illuminated by the moonlight.
The ring put on during the wedding was now catching her eye; that familiar ring design was almost etched into her heart. Song Wenzhi realized then that both she and Yu Kunian had completely adapted to the presence of the rings, as if they had been wearing them for a long time, not feeling the slightest bit of strangeness upon putting them on.
Song Wenzhi liked these two wedding rings.
The Omega closed her eyes again. They exchanged breaths, and the moist air brushed against each other’s faces after they pulled apart. Yu Kunian held Song Wenzhi as they lay down; the Alpha gathered the Omega completely into her embrace and lowered her head.
Kisses filled with a slight tickling sensation fell upon her shoulders, neck, and collarbone, and then Yu Kunian and Song Wenzhi’s fingers intertwined.
With the removal of the scent-blocking patches, the aroma of peppermint and coconut candy overpowered the scent of the red wine. Song Wenzhi’s hair slipped through Yu Kunian’s fingers, and the Omega’s arms were wrapped around the Alpha’s neck. The concentration of her coconut candy scent, for once, surpassed that of Yu Kunian’s pheromones.
Whether it was instinct or the inclination of their hearts, they were both moved by one another and unable to restrain themselves because of the other. Both pairs of eyes were willing to sink into the other’s gaze, just as their wedding vows had stated:
They were willing.
As Yu Kunian removed her dangling earrings, she discovered that the Omega’s ears had become burning hot at some point. This caused the Alpha to let out a light chuckle, her chest vibrating slightly. Song Wenzhi gave a gentle shove against Yu Kunian’s shoulder, appearing bashful. “Yu Kunian, don’t laugh.”
Yu Kunian rubbed her chin against Song Wenzhi’s. “Zhizhi, I am just happy all over again.”
Song Wenzhi asked her, “Because of what?”
“Because it’s you.” Yu Kunian gazed at her deeply, the smile in her eyes like a starry sky. “My Omega is you, the person in my future is you—my Zhizhi.”
She only wanted Song Wenzhi.
Song Wenzhi looked at her with a smile, the beautiful Omega’s eyes filled entirely with Yu Kunian. She was not a woman of many words, but now, the Omega leaned close to Yu Kunian’s ear and whispered:
“Yu Kunian, I like you.”
She had liked Yu Kunian for many years. That long-hidden affection always felt incredible to her, but she had confirmed it in her heart repeatedly: Yu Kunian was her Alpha. Therefore, she finally had the chance to say these words out loud.
Yu Kunian was stunned at first, and then an irrepressible joy seized her emotions. The Alpha hugged the Omega tightly, the peppermint scent manifesting her uncontainable delight.
The space on the sofa was clearly not wide enough to accommodate the two of them for sleeping, so a moment later, Yu Kunian and Song Wenzhi went back to the bedroom together.
The door was closed; tonight was still long.
On their first night of marriage, their moods were naturally even more joyful than usual. Even if the tedious procedures of the day had left them exhausted, this night remained fervent and even more addictive.
Just like the last time, the house was filled everywhere with the scent of their pheromones, yet it was a completely different scenario.
It is not recommended to perform a permanent marking on an Omega who is not in their heat period, because at such a time, the Omega’s gland is not prepared; if an Alpha performs a marking then, it will cause pain. Yu Kunian had originally intended to permanently mark Song Wenzhi on their wedding day, but after learning about this situation, she eventually gave up on the idea.
She didn’t want Song Wenzhi to feel pain; that was her only thought.
Regardless of what had happened before, from now on, Yu Kunian did not want Song Wenzhi to experience any more pain. Thus, she did not mention the words “permanent marking” even once tonight.
Tonight was gentle and long, like the kiss Song Wenzhi lightly pressed against Yu Kunian’s neck. After bathing, Yu Kunian held Song Wenzhi as they fell asleep. Remembering something, she asked Song Wenzhi: “Come to the company with me tomorrow morning, okay?”
The Omega had no classes tomorrow morning, but it seemed there wasn’t much for her to do at Yu Kunian’s company. Song Wenzhi couldn’t help but find it strange, and because she was a bit tired, her voice was lazy as she asked: “To do what?”
“To let the people at the company know that I am an Alpha who has an Omega now,” Yu Kunian said in a low voice with a curl of her lips. Song Wenzhi didn’t know if she was joking, but she couldn’t help but mumble: “Yu Kunian, that’s so weird.”
Yu Kunian lowered her head to kiss her. “It’s not weird at all, Zhizhi.”
She simply wanted more people to know that she had an Omega, a very impressive university professor—Song Wenzhi.
