The Pursuit of Love After Divorcing My Cold Omega - Chapter 101
“I won’t leave you ever again.”
After confirming the words Song Wenzhi had spoken, Yu Kunian’s kiss fell upon the Omega’s brow. Her smile was intense, and her gaze burned as she looked at Song Wenzhi, her arms tightening as she pulled the Omega into a firm embrace.
“Good,” Yu Kunian said, her voice echoing in the Omega’s ear. “Today is the first day of our relationship.”
Song Wenzhi turned her head to press a kiss against the Alpha’s neck. “Yu Kunian, you don’t need that watch anymore.”
The richness of the Omega’s soothing pheromones almost entirely enveloped Yu Kunian. Song Wenzhi took the watch from the Alpha’s hand and placed it on the side table. Perhaps out of a lingering heartache, or perhaps a desire to erase the sorrows of the past, Song Wenzhi clasped Yu Kunian’s palm. She lowered her head and gave a light nip to Yu Kunian’s shoulder.
“I won’t leave you ever again,” Song Wenzhi whispered, her voice soft and small, yet falling clearly into Yu Kunian’s ears.
A faint bite mark remained on the fair skin. Song Wenzhi hadn’t used much force; the shoulder merely flushed red before quickly fading away.
Though the mark on the skin vanished, the corners of the Omega’s eyes turned red instead.
Yu Kunian interlaced their fingers, the warmth of their palms transferring between them. Yu Kunian’s hair fell forward, obscuring Song Wenzhi’s half-closed eyes, but the Omega’s trembling breath spilled entirely across the Alpha’s shoulder.
Yu Kunian’s thumb brushed against Song Wenzhi’s earlobe. She whispered, “Bite harder.”
Song Wenzhi didn’t speak; her body stiffened. After a pause, the Alpha spoke again: “Zhizhi, bite deeper. Let me remember it.”
Remember the pain. Remember everything that happened between them.
Remember their joys and sorrows, remember all the arguments, and then let this affection grow deeper. Let them reach a point where they can never leave each other again, making them reliant on one another and inseparable, forever.
In the future of this lifetime, this love would never end.
Yu Kunian thought to herself that she would love Song Wenzhi more with every passing day.
She could not leave Song Wenzhi; she could never leave her again.
Song Wenzhi lifted her gaze to meet Yu Kunian’s eyes. Emotions constantly shifted within those amber depths, but at the bottom of it all, there was always her—and only ever her. As their breaths mingled, a faint smile touched Song Wenzhi’s eyes. She lowered her head again and bit the same spot as before.
Yu Kunian’s fingertips curled. She suppressed a low groan, her short breaths falling against Song Wenzhi’s hair. A clear tooth mark was left on her shoulder. Song Wenzhi spoke:
“I love you.”
Hearing this, Yu Kunian cupped Song Wenzhi’s face with her other hand. Once their eyes met, the Alpha pressed Song Wenzhi down. Dense kisses traveled from her lips to her chest, the scorching heat causing a crimson flush to spread across the Omega’s cheeks.
The nightgown slipped from her shoulders once more. Yu Kunian’s palm pressed against her. This time, the kisses carried light nips—not heavy, but enough to make the Omega itch with sensation. Song Wenzhi tried to turn away, but Yu Kunian pinned her waist. Damp breaths fell from her lips, and the atmosphere quickly heated up again.
The sofa was very small, but it allowed them to lean tightly against one another. The temperature reached equilibrium in their palms as Yu Kunian took Song Wenzhi’s lips into her own.
“Mmh…”
The Alpha’s kiss became forceful, the air in their mouths seeming to swap places. Song Wenzhi couldn’t hold out; her breathing became ragged.
When they broke apart, Yu Kunian brushed her finger over lips that looked as if they were soaked in water. “Zhizhi, since you’re not going to work, why don’t we sleep a bit longer?”
Song Wenzhi knew, of course, that this “sleeping” was not the ordinary kind.
Thus, she gave Yu Kunian a light shove and said, “Not on the sofa.”
“You don’t like the sofa?” Yu Kunian asked softly, her fingers tangling in the Omega’s soft hair.
Song Wenzhi said, “It’s too small here.”
With the two of them lying together, the space felt cramped. They had already made a mess of the sofa last night, and it wasn’t particularly comfortable to sleep on. It was difficult to stretch out properly—it couldn’t compare to the sofa back at their home in Lihua City.
Yu Kunian held her tighter. “Then I’ll buy a bigger sofa, okay?”
“No.” Song Wenzhi raised a hand to cover her mouth. “It won’t fit here.”
The space was small to begin with, and since it was just a rental, there was no need to buy a new sofa.
Yu Kunian chuckled. Her voice was muffled as she joked, “Then what should we do?”
Song Wenzhi’s palm twitched slightly from the warmth of the Alpha’s breath. The Omega’s ears were tinged red, and she quickly withdrew her hand. “Go to the bedroom.”
Yu Kunian gave her a kiss and then picked her up. “Alright, let’s go back to the bedroom, to the bed.”
The bedroom curtains were drawn, and the room grew dim. It felt as if nothing remained but the sounds of their respective heartbeats. As the Alpha’s fingertips slowly traced downward, Song Wenzhi shrunk back for a moment. Her words came out in fragments. Yu Kunian pieced them together; it seemed the Omega was asking:
“Yu Kunian, why do you like the sofa so much?”
Yu Kunian kissed the Omega’s knuckles before answering. “That time I had a fever and you came to take care of me, I slept on the sofa with you. I really liked that day.”
The day she first kissed Song Wenzhi was also the day she considered significant. Holding Song Wenzhi on the sofa—a moment of ordinary life—made her feel at peace and grounded. She loved it especially.
She hadn’t felt that her home was lonely when she was alone before, but once Song Wenzhi came over that day, she began to long for a life with two people. The proximity forced by the lack of space, being able to embrace, smelling the scent of the Omega’s hair, feeling the soothing relief of the pheromones—all of it made her linger.
It was unforgettable, and it was something she craved.
Having said that, Yu Kunian leaned in to nuzzle Song Wenzhi’s cheek. “Zhizhi, you don’t like it?”
Song Wenzhi panted lightly. A low moan, which she tried to suppress, rolled through her throat. She tilted her beautiful neck back, her gaze becoming somewhat unfocused as she said, “I like it.”
She liked Yu Kunian; she liked everything the Alpha brought.
She could let herself be led by Yu Kunian; no matter the time or place, she would follow without hesitation.
The past had been painful, but it was also incredibly beautiful.
The future would no longer hold those pains. They would never repeat the same mistakes.
Eventually, Song Wenzhi leaned against Yu Kunian’s shoulder to catch her breath. Yu Kunian went into the bathroom with her. The Alpha helped wash Song Wenzhi, water droplets wetting her hair. The Omega remembered something and asked:
“Yu Kunian, do you like the house in Lihua City?”
That house, which held memories of both happiness and pain. The place filled with their past life together.
The Alpha lowered her eyes. She avoided answering the question directly, only saying, “Zhizhi, it’s good here.”
“What’s good about it?” Song Wenzhi’s consciousness cleared a bit as she continued to probe.
Yu Kunian said, “You are here.”
Song Wenzhi gripped her fingertips. “Then do you like New York?”
“No matter where it is, as long as you are there, I will like it.” Yu Kunian curled her lips into a smile, her brows relaxing.
Song Wenzhi didn’t speak again; she gave a soft nod.
After bathing, Song Wenzhi felt a bit sleepy, so they lay in bed preparing to take a nap. Yu Kunian held Song Wenzhi’s waist, watching the Omega close her eyes. She reached out to brush the stray hairs from Song Wenzhi’s forehead, her movement pausing for a long time before she withdrew her hand.
The Alpha’s emotions grew a bit complex.
Regarding Lihua City, Yu Kunian couldn’t say for sure whether she liked or hated it. She only knew that Song Wenzhi might not want to go back because it held bad memories for her. The Omega would likely stay in New York, and Yu Kunian felt that was for the best. She didn’t want Song Wenzhi to have to return and face the scars left in her heart.
Even though they were prepared to start completely fresh, Yu Kunian still couldn’t be certain that the old place wouldn’t trigger a “muscle memory” of sadness in the Omega.
When Song Wenzhi chose to leave Lihua City, she must have been prepared to stay in New York for a long time.
Yu Kunian wouldn’t form an absolute attachment to any place. She only wanted to be with Song Wenzhi. No matter where they went, as long as the Omega was there, it was enough.
Song Wenzhi had her eyes closed for a long time but didn’t fall asleep. The sleepiness from before seemed to vanish the moment she hit the bed. After trying unsuccessfully to enter dreamland for a while, the Omega frowned and opened her eyes halfway to look at the Alpha in front of her.
“Yu Kunian?” Song Wenzhi called out softly.
The corner of Yu Kunian’s mouth quirked up. Her grip tightened, though she didn’t open her eyes. “What is it?”
“What are we having for lunch?”
“It is indeed time for lunch.” Yu Kunian’s expression was warm as she opened one eye. “Are you hungry?”
Song Wenzhi said, “A little.”
Yu Kunian sat up. “Alright, I’ll go cook.”
“Let’s do it together.” Song Wenzhi followed her up. After a quick wash, they went to check the remaining ingredients in the fridge.
While Yu Kunian was chopping vegetables, she asked, “So Zhizhi, how did you find out I was your private chef? We clearly never ran into each other.”
Song Wenzhi played mysterious. “I just knew.”
The Alpha looked at her and laughed. Though she couldn’t guess why—perhaps because of a certain habit or some accident—what started as a series of coincidences had turned into something intentional. Song Wenzhi praised her for how much her cooking had improved.
It had been a long time since the two of them had eaten a meal together at home. Being at the same table in a restaurant could never compare to being at home. Yu Kunian liked sitting close to Song Wenzhi like this; even the simple act of placing food in the Omega’s bowl felt like a blissful moment.
The house was filled with their pheromones; it was their territory, with no one else to disturb them. Yu Kunian and Song Wenzhi leaned shoulder to shoulder, enjoying every second.
Yu Kunian was even a bit grateful for this “accident.” Otherwise, there would have been no way for Song Wenzhi to stay with her for an entire month. This so-called “price” had its fair share of benefits.
After eating, Yu Kunian held Song Wenzhi and wouldn’t let go. The scent of coconut candy had faded slightly, so the Alpha pressed her hand to the back of the Omega’s neck. “Is your gland feeling uncomfortable?”
Song Wenzhi shook her head. “No.”
“If my pheromones are released continuously now, will it affect you like it did last time?”
“No.” Song Wenzhi let Yu Kunian continue her movements. “Last time was because I wasn’t used to an Alpha’s pheromones. Not anymore.”
The Omega originally had a dependency on Yu Kunian’s pheromones. She might have needed time to adjust during the first few instances, but not anymore. On the contrary, the stronger the scent of mint, the more secure Song Wenzhi felt.
Yu Kunian hummed in response. She pulled her even closer and added, “I am willing to be your lifelong remedy. Whenever you need me, I will be here.”
