The Omega's Vow: Never Marry a Mama's Boy Alpha - Chapter 48.2
Wen Yan replied sullenly. As an actress, she had to maintain her figure breakfast time could be sacrificed for the sake of more sleep.
Here we go again.
Wen Xiu was quite familiar with his sister’s habit of lazing in bed. He raised his voice slightly to remind the woman inside.
“It’s a lovingly prepared breakfast by Sister Lin~”
The soft figure sprawled on the bed stiffened instantly. Wen Yan gave up resisting and reluctantly got up, pulling up the slipped strap of her camisole.
“Alright, I’m coming.”
For the sake of her girlfriend’s thoughtfulness, she’d grudgingly get up and have a taste.
Wen Yan mentally coached herself, even feeling a sense of smug accomplishment.
She got out of bed and slipped on her pink Patrick Star slippers not her style, but a gift from her younger brother Wen Xiu, who had matching SpongeBob ones. Kids loved these cute, soft things, and he had happily bought them for her.
Since it was her brother’s thoughtful gesture, Wen Yan couldn’t bring herself not to wear them.
Opening her door, she saw two people standing side by side at the kitchen counter: Wen Xiu squeezing ketchup and salad dressing, while Gu Lin cut the sandwiches in half. They both looked up simultaneously and smiled at Wen Yan in unison.
Wen Yan’s hanging hand trembled slightly, her eyes suddenly reddening as she fought back tears.
The future award-winning actress covered her mouth with a yawn, skillfully masking her emotions with her impeccable acting skills. She walked forward, clad only in a thin camisole nightgown, which made Gu Lin’s heart ache.
Even with the central heating maintaining a constant temperature, it was still winter!
“Why haven’t you changed?”
Gu Lin took Wen Yan’s hand it was warm, which was a relief, as long as it wasn’t icy cold.
“I’m going to take a shower.”
The more Wen Yan looked at Gu Lin, the more satisfied she felt. Beautiful, great figure, talented, warm at night, cooks in the morning currently a loyal companion, with the potential to be a future powerhouse.
Her taste was impeccable, landing such a girlfriend.
Rising on her tiptoes, she wrapped her arms around Gu Lin’s neck and planted a kiss on her cheek.
“Good morning.”
Witnessing this, Wen Xiu blushed and squeezed too hard, splattering ketchup all over the counter, creating a messy scene.
The loud noise naturally caught Wen Yan’s attention. The mature and sensual omega woman raised an eyebrow, teasing her extremely innocent younger brother.
“Does Axiu want a kiss from big sister too?”
Wen Xiu, who was already blushing to the point of tears, glanced tearfully at Gu Lin’s smiling face upon hearing this and nearly stamped his feet in frustration.
“I don’t!”
“It’s okay if you do.” Wen Yan blew him a kiss before laughing and heading to the bathroom.
Wen Xiu almost ascended to heaven on the spot, his soul drifting who-knows-where. The large splatters of ketchup were eventually cleaned up by Gu Lin, who shook her head in amusement.
With a professional chef visiting today, the Wen family enjoyed an exceptionally lavish breakfast.
The main course was scrambled egg sandwiches, accompanied by bacon cheese rolls as side dishes, along with a steaming cup of milk both healthy and nutritious.
Gu Lin was quite satisfied. After changing out of yesterday’s clothes, she went to join the meal.
“Did you learn cooking by yourself, Sister Lin?”
The little kitten who had been teased relentlessly earlier had returned to normal, now full of curiosity as he asked Gu Lin.
“Yes, I learned while studying in the U.S.”
“After eating too much Western food, it started to feel tiresome, and most Chinese restaurants weren’t authentic, so I decided to cook for myself.”
“Gradually, I began to enjoy the process.”
“Cooking for family makes me especially happy.”
“Right?!” Wen Xiu’s eyes lit up as if he’d found a kindred spirit. “I feel the same way!”
“If my sister finishes all the food I make, I feel super~ accomplished!”
“Even if I have to wash the dishes afterward, I’m willing.”
Wen Yan happened to walk over just then and, hearing her brother’s words, chuckled and poked the back of his head.
“Don’t make it sound like I’m bullying you.”
Gu Lin pulled out a chair for her, and Wen Yan sat down, propping her chin on one hand as she smiled at Wen Xiu across the table.
“Your big sister works to support a pretty boy like you, isn’t it only fair that you handle the housework?”
“Hmm?”
The “pretty boy” was left speechless, lowering his head with a pitiful expression, so delicate and dramatic that Wen Yan thought he should go into acting.
He’d be really popular.
And so, a warm breakfast began.
Gu Lin came from a strict family where talking during meals was discouraged, and she ate almost silently, as seriously as if performing a ritual.
This intimidated Wen Xiu so much that he didn’t dare speak, quietly sipping his milk in small mouthfuls.
Wen Yan raised an eyebrow, pushed her milk glass toward Gu Lin, and said, “I don’t like this.”
Gu Lin looked up and advised helplessly, “Drinking milk is good for your health.”
Wen Yan crossed her arms, straightened her posture, and spoke with clear implication, “My body is already in great shape.”
Wen Xiu, who understood the innuendo, choked on his milk and burst into a fit of coughing, his face turning bright red as he struggled to catch his breath.
Even Gu Lin was stunned by Wen Yan’s fearless and uninhibited remark. She handed a tissue to the innocent and suffering Wen Xiu and then asked Wen Yan, “Then what would you like to drink?” I’ll go buy it for you.”
Wen Yan thought for a moment and pulled the glass back. “Forget it, it’s not like I can’t drink it.”
Gu Lin watched her, sensing there was more she wanted to say.
Sure enough, Wen Yan set down her knife and fork, cupped Gu Lin’s face, and squeezed it firmly.
“This is my home. Don’t bring your family’s rules here.”
It was truly uncomfortable. What should have been a joyful meal would become oppressive and suffocating if taken so seriously.
Even eating had turned into a form of torture.
What harm was there in talking? Isn’t conversation and communication exactly what families should do?
And making noise while eating was nothing to worry about didn’t it just mean they were enjoying their food?
“Promise me, okay?”
Wen Yan looked down at Gu Lin, whose lips were puckered up as if asking for a kiss.
The sight made her want to laugh.
“Okay.”
Gu Lin nodded in agreement, showing no resistance, her gaze soft and gentle.
“Good girl.”
Satisfied, Wen Yan rewarded her obedient girlfriend with a kiss. Wen Xiu promptly turned away, inwardly screaming about how cool his sister was!
Gu Lin smiled, her lips still curved upward even after the warm kiss had ended.
For the first time in her life, Fifth Young Lady experienced a lively, down-to-earth breakfast filled with the warmth of everyday life. Wen Xiu chattered incessantly like a little hamster, sharing recent happenings while eating, his cheeks puffed out and never stopping. Wen Yan responded with a few teasing remarks between bites, never letting up until her little brother was pouting and wrinkling his nose in mock annoyance.
Gu Lin didn’t speak much, quietly listening and smiling as she ate.
In Wen Yan’s peripheral vision, Gu Lin appeared beautiful and radiant, almost too dazzling to look at directly.
After the meal, Wen Xiu and Wen Yan went to get ready and change clothes, leaving the task of washing the dishes naturally to Gu Lin.
She stood by the sink, the sleeves of her shirt rolled up to reveal her pale, slender forearms. A woman focused on her work was captivating, and a woman diligently doing household chores was equally alluring.
Wen Yan couldn’t tear her eyes away. She quietly walked over and wrapped her arms around Gu Lin’s waist from behind.
It was slender yet strong, with firm muscles beneath her touch.
“Aren’t you going to pack your things?”
Gu Lin turned off the faucet, dried her hands, and gently held the delicate hands resting on her waist, asking softly.
She would soon be heading to the airport to fly to Hengdian for work.
Wen Yan felt she couldn’t bear to be apart from this woman, even for a moment, but she could never bring herself to say such a selfish thing out loud.
“It’s fine, there’s still time.”
Yet Gu Lin understood the unspoken meaning in Wen Yan’s words, she was always considerate in just the right way.
“Mm, I’ll come find you.”
Seemingly unrelated words, yet they carried a deep, restrained love.
Wen Yan smiled, resting her head against Gu Lin’s back as she laughed silently.
Indeed.
If love between two hearts can last forever,
Why need they be together night and day?
