- The Omega's Vow: Never Marry a Mama's Boy Alpha
- Chapter 24 - Not Retreating from the Engagement, But Also Not Taking Advantage
The person in her arms had a startlingly high body temperature.
An intense peach blossom fragrance continuously flooded her nostrils, penetrating deep into her body and being drawn into her lungs.
The foreign pheromone molecules decomposed and fused under the influence of her bloodstream, traveling through blood vessels to the location of her glands, attempting to awaken the long-dormant organ.
Gu Lin took a deep breath. The enclosed environment of the elevator allowed her to relax slightly and focus on Wen Yan’s condition.
The omega’s face was flushed, her eyes hazy with mist. One more glance, and she would be lost in them. She leaned weakly against Gu Lin’s shoulder, her hand resting softly on it, unclear whether it was acceptance or rejection.
Her rose-like, delicate red lips were bitten tightly, fragile and pitiful, yet it only fueled the desire to ravage them.
Gu Lin didn’t dare look any longer. She lifted her head and stared intently at the changing numbers.
“Hot.”
Finally, Wen Yan released her already bitten lower lip and softly uttered a single word.
“It hurts.”
It was a sob, tinged with unmistakable grievance.
Gu Lin had never experienced a heat cycle herself. No omega had ever been able to plunge the pristine Fifth Miss of the Gu family into a rut. Even if an omega entered an uncontrollable heat and schemed to be alone with Gu Lin, the indifferent alpha remained unmoved, simply closing the door and leaving. So, she didn’t know what kind of pain Wen Yan was referring to, nor did she understand just how unbearable Wen Yan’s current state was.
It was like a traveler lost in the desert, their body unbearably hot, desperately in need of water. Or like a prisoner in the icy wilderness, craving a scorching embrace and touch.
Wen Yan turned her head and bit down on the collar of Gu Lin’s shirt, sobbing and whimpering.
“Help me.”
She knew she was out of danger now, held in a warm embrace that felt utterly secure. Wen Yan could still catch the faint, familiar scent a subtle, elusive fragrance.
It was the same fragrance from the director’s room.
It was Lin Ye.
She had come to save her.
The alpha’s breathing grew increasingly heavy, and the hands holding her from behind tightened their grip, as if trying to press Wen Yan into her very body.
“No, Wen Yan.”
Contrary to the restless urgency conveyed by her actions, Gu Lin refused Wen Yan’s plea.
Her voice was cold and detached, carrying an unyielding chill.
“My upbringing forbids me from doing such a thing.”
Wen Yan let out a muffled groan. Her tear glands seemed to have lost their control, and large teardrops streamed from the corners of her eyes, quickly soaking Gu Lin’s shirt.
“Hold on.”
“I’m taking you to the hospital.”
The elevator reached the top floor. Gu Lin, clad in black combat boots, strode purposefully and carried Wen Yan onto the helicopter.
Just as planned, the hospital had prepared a private, high-end room with doctors and nurses on standby.
Bi Yu would remain at the building, waiting to join her colleagues and escort Liang Feng to the police station for interrogation.
Everything was proceeding as smoothly as anticipated.
Except for Wen Yan, who couldn’t stop crying and was tearing at her clothes.
Gu Lin didn’t dare glance in her direction, afraid that a single distraction would send the helicopter crashing down.
This couldn’t go on. Letting Wen Yan continue like this was far too dangerous.
Steeling herself, Gu Lin spoke up.
“Wen Yan, let’s talk.”
The black suit jacket was tossed aside. Wen Yan lay on the floor, her body writhing back and forth like a seductive serpent.
“I don’t want to talk.” Wen Yan bit her index finger, her peach-blossom eyes red and swollen from crying. “Lin save me.”
“Lin.”
The omega wept and pleaded, calling the alpha’s name over and over. Gu Lin felt her resolve rapidly crumbling, her fortress-like defenses gradually collapsing.
She was like a scholar ensnared by a bewitching enchantress, casting all propriety and shame aside, yearning only for a fleeting spring romance with the seductress, even if it meant being drained of her essence.
Fortunately, it was merely a thought. Gu Lin’s body proved more steadfast than she had anticipated.
Gritting her teeth, Gu Lin pressed on, “What would you like to eat later?”
“You’ll be very hungry after the infusion. Tell me what you want, and I’ll buy it for you.”
The beautiful serpent sobbed, her words emerging like a vivid yet perilous flicker of a snake’s tongue.
“I want to eat you.”
“Not later, I want to eat you right now.”
Gu Lin: I’m about to lose it.
She felt herself teetering on the edge of wrongdoing and crashing headlong into disaster.
Who could resist a stunning beauty weeping and begging for relief from her restless desires?
Especially when this beauty was usually so aloof and unapproachable.
Gu Lin felt she was going mad, her gums nearly bleeding from how hard she was clenching her teeth.
“If you eat me, you’ll have to marry me.”
“Aren’t you already engaged?”
Without a second thought, Wen Yan replied, “I’ll marry you. Come here.”
“Wah! Come here, please.”
She was lost in an abyss of physical torment, willing to say anything to find release.
Gu Lin understood this and felt even more heartache for her. Thankfully, the hospital building was now very close, and soon she could free her from this unbearable agony.
Pulling the control stick, Gu Lin hovered the helicopter over the landing pad, stabilized the cabin, and began a slow descent. The roaring propellers ceased their spin as the power was cut, and the waiting medical staff rushed forward.
A woman with a high black ponytail leaped down nimbly, then carefully carried out a captivating and alluring female omega in her arms.
The omega squirmed restlessly in her embrace, even sinking her teeth into Gu Lin’s neck.
A stretcher was ready, but Gu Lin didn’t even glance at it, addressing the medical staff directly.
“Lead the way. Quickly.”
Her tone brooked no delay. A nearby nurse, who had been waiting, reasonably guessed that this domineering, CEO-like woman must be in pain from the bite.
But she’s so gorgeous, I’m a little smitten.
And she can fly a helicopter.
The nurse followed behind Gu Lin, her eyes filled with heart-shaped adoration.
But as her gaze shifted to the omega in the domineering woman’s arms, her youthful heart shattered into dust.
My apologies she was clearly out of her league.
A half-minute-long first love had come to an abrupt end.
Once inside the hospital room, Gu Lin tried to set Wen Yan down, but the woman in her arms refused to let go, stubbornly biting her neck like a small animal clinging to its prey.
Gu Lin took a steadying breath, deciding not to force her. She sat down directly and instructed, “Administer the IV like this.”
The doctor and nurse exchanged uneasy glances. Well, if she didn’t mind, they had no right to object.
The medication had been prepared in advance, a specialized hormonal treatment for omegas forced into heat. In principle, it was similar to an omega being marked by an alpha and receiving their pheromones, just without the physical intimacy and the marking process itself.
The moment the needle pierced her skin, the pain in her neck intensified. Gu Lin tightened her embrace around Wen Yan, gently rubbing her chin against the top of Wen Yan’s head.
“It’s alright, it’ll be over soon.”
Wen Yan buried her face in the crook of Gu Lin’s shoulder, slowly releasing her bite and breathing softly.
The medication needed time to take effect, and she was still struggling, but a sliver of rationality had returned.
She was no longer as unrestrained and wanton as she had been on the plane.
Instead, she quietly pressed against Gu Lin’s skin, finding comfort in its cool, soothing touch.
When she looked up and saw that she had bitten Gu Lin until she bled again, Wen Yan wrapped her arms around her and tenderly licked the wound she had caused.
Every drop of blood flowed into her mouth.
Gu Lin began to tremble, her voice shaking uncontrollably.
“Stop.”
Wen Yan paid her no mind, as if possessed.
The doctor and nurse nearby, witnessing such an intimate scene, exchanged awkward glances. Without waiting for Gu Lin’s instructions, they tactfully left the room.
Gu Lin nearly gasped aloud.
This temptress was going to be the death of her.
Heaven knew how much restraint and resolve she had mustered, only for it to dissolve completely under the warmth of those lips and tongue.
Gu Lin reacted, and a faint trace of her usually concealed pheromones emerged.
Wen Yan caught the delicate fragrance again and looked up at the alpha before her.
Their intimate position also made her aware of the state of the person behind her.
Firm, burning hot.
A stark contrast to Gu Lin’s usual aloof demeanor.
“You!”
The world spun, and Wen Yan was forcibly laid on the bed. Gu Lin loomed over her, her face flushed with an unnatural blush.
She was blushing again because of this.
Wen Yan watched quietly, saying nothing.
The medication was taking effect, the feverish heat receding, and the mature, rational woman had returned.
Being put down was for the best; otherwise, she truly wouldn’t know how to face Gu Lin.
“I’ll go buy you something to eat. Rest well.”
Gu Lin could clearly see that Wen Yan was regaining her composure. Overwhelmed with embarrassment, she turned to flee.
She was wearing trousers, and the evidence was particularly noticeable.
After taking two steps, she paused and added, “Ah Xiu will be here soon. Don’t worry.”
Wen Yan watched her retreating figure and softly said, “Thank you.”
The door closed, leaving the hospital room bright, spacious, and impeccably clean, yet devoid of any warmth, cold and sterile.
Wen Yan slowly curled her legs, folding into a ball, a posture of utter vulnerability.
She wasn’t really hungry, nor did she want Gu Lin to leave.
She even longed to nestle back into her gentle embrace.
But in the end, Wen Yan kept these thoughts to herself. Now that she was sober, there was no excuse to indulge her fragility.
Even in the presence of her hero.
Wen Yan closed her eyes, her long, narrow lashes trembling like crow feathers.
A single tear traced a path from the corner of her eye.
Just one.
