- Chapter 3 - What Is That Smell? It Stinks!
Sheng Xuanzhu forcefully gripped Shen Que’s chin, forcing him to look up.
“From now on, keep that disgusting scent of yours under control when you’re around me.”
Shen Que winced in pain, frowning but not daring to make a sound. Meeting those cold, harsh, and fierce eyes with a sense of grievance, he couldn’t help but shudder violently.
The man before him possessed the dominance of one in power, carrying the innate oppressive force of an alpha—a predetermined hierarchy that made it impossible for Shen Que to resist being threatened and toyed with.
Sheng Xuanzhu turned and put on a bite guard…
Shen Que’s nose stung, his eyes welling up with tears. Suppressing his grievances, he held back his sobs. His hands trembled as he undid his clothes, revealing a pale chest flushed pink from crying. His jade-like legs, delicate and translucent, were pressed tightly together, trembling with fear.
Sheng Xuanzhu roughly grabbed Shen Que’s ankle and dragged him closer.
Shen Que stiffened in pain, a choked sob escaping his throat. His already uncontrollable glands began secreting pheromones frantically.
Annoyed, Sheng Xuanzhu reached for a soft pillow and pressed it over Shen Que’s neck.
Deprived of fresh air, Shen Que finally regained some clarity from the pain. In the darkness, his vision swam with stars as he desperately tried to suppress the scent of his pheromones.
Once the floral scent faded, Sheng Xuanzhu tossed the pillow aside and took a proper look at Shen Que’s face.
Moonlight spilled over the omega’s features, tears clinging to his lashes, his lips swollen and flushed from rough treatment.
Pitiful and innocent.
The more pitiful he looked, the more it stirred someone’s interest.
Shen Que’s heart pounded wildly, as if it might leap out of his throat. He felt like nothing more than Sheng Xuanzhu’s punching bag.
The omega’s milky-white skin glowed with a faint blush, covered in a thin layer of sweat that shimmered like droplets squeezed from his flesh.
Sheng Xuanzhu paid no heed to Shen Que’s pleas. Fainting from pain only to wake to more agony, the omega became like a frightened little rabbit, unable to tell whether the alpha wanted him or his life.
Shen Que had no strength left, worn out from the ordeal. His feeble kicks and punches were like a kitten’s scratches—neither painful nor effective.
Sheng Xuanzhu, positioned above him, cast a disdainful, cold glance at the omega. His fingers suddenly clamped around Shen Que’s ankle, pressing it forcefully above his head.
The night of madness lasted until dawn. When Shen Que woke and tried to sit up, he failed several times in a row.
Sheng Xuanzhu entered just as Shen Que trembled, attempting to rise, only to collapse back in pain. Clutching the corner of the blanket with a pitiful expression, his eyes slightly reddened as if lost in thought, Sheng Xuanzhu’s heart skipped a beat.
Sheng Xuanzhu couldn’t help but feel that, compared to Wen Zhibai, Shen Que was almost too innocent.
At that very moment, Shen Que looked up and met his gaze.
Bathed in the morning light, his brown irises seemed as clear as glass beads, so pure it felt a shame to taint them.
“Xuan… Xuan-zong,” Shen Que averted his eyes, gripping the blanket tightly and instinctively shifting away. “Xuan-zong, I want to visit my grandmother.”
Sheng Xuanzhu’s deep eyes showed no emotion as he leaned against the doorframe with a malicious smirk. “No.”
Shen Que froze for a moment before reacting like a cornered rabbit ready to bite. His eyes reddened, and he broke down in tears. “I did everything you asked! Why won’t you let me go?”
Sheng Xuanzhu grew irritated by his crying. “She’s out of danger. My people are taking care of her.”
With that, he turned and slammed the door shut with a loud bang, shaking the entire room. Shen Que flinched and burrowed back under the covers.
The driver who was taking Sheng Xuanzhu to work turned on the car diffuser as usual and went about his daily preparations. Seeing Sheng Xuanzhu stride over with heavy steps, he was somewhat surprised.
“Mr. Sheng, didn’t you have breakfast? Why are we leaving so early?”
Sheng Xuanzhu ignored him, got straight into the car, and slammed the door shut with a loud bang.
He didn’t care about this car worth millions, but the driver did. Silently praying for the car in his heart, the driver quickly got in.
“What’s that smell? It’s awful.”
The driver hurriedly turned off the diffuser and opened the window to air out the car.
“Where’s this morning’s newspaper?”
The driver forced a bitter smile. “Mr. Sheng, you left early today. The morning paper hasn’t been delivered yet.”
Sheng Xuanzhu took a deep breath, tapping his fingers on the car door. Noticing the scenery outside was different from usual, he snapped, “Don’t change the route randomly. Didn’t they teach you that during training?”
The driver broke into a cold sweat, wondering what had gotten into Mr. Sheng today. “Mr. Sheng, leaving early and taking this route was your rule.”
Upon arriving at the company, Sheng Xuanzhu nitpicked and criticized the employees relentlessly. Fortunately, the driver had notified Assistant Bian in advance, who rushed to the rescue. Otherwise, the veteran employees who were being scolded would have run to the rooftop in tears, ready to jump.
“Dr. Xie, you really need to talk some sense into Mr. Sheng.”
Xie Lan adjusted his glasses. “Is the project not going well?”
Assistant Bian looked on the verge of tears. “Yesterday, Mr. Sheng took an omega from Dingwan. This morning, he’s been in a terrible mood—probably wasn’t satisfied with the service!”
“Alright, alright,” Xie Lan patted his shoulder reassuringly. “Don’t worry. With me here, I’ll give you back the cold, sharp, domineering, and rational Mr. Sheng in no time!”
“Thank you so much!”
As soon as Xie Lan pushed the door open, a paper cutter came flying toward him.
“Whoa!” Xie Lan, with quick reflexes, sidestepped and bent down to pick up the knife from the floor. “What’s got you so worked up?”
