- Chapter 2 - Such Seductive Legs, It Would Be a Pity to Break Them
Shen Que couldn’t remember how he was brought home by Mr. Xuan. Now, soaking in the spacious, gleaming bathtub, the heat in his body had mostly dissipated.
Almost simultaneously, his phone, placed beside the pile of clothes, rang. Shen Que was so startled that he splashed water out of the tub.
His face pale, Shen Que stood up to answer the call. Before the other person could speak, he trembled and cried, “Brother He, I’ll work hard for you. Please, save me!”
On the other end of the line was He Yuan, his voice cold. “Being noticed by Mr. Xuan is your good fortune. This Mr. Xuan is very mysterious, decisive, and ruthless. You’d better behave and not drag me down. As long as you perform well and please Mr. Xuan, in the future, all those Mr. Zhangs and Mr. Lis will be scrambling to curry favor with you, and money will be yours for the taking.”
Pleasing an alpha was something any omega would do.
But Shen Que didn’t want to repeat the same mistakes. He had had enough during those two years with Sheng Xuanzhu. He never wanted to be anyone’s possession again!
The bathroom door was knocked on and pushed open.
Shen Que snapped out of his thoughts, clutching his chest as he fearfully looked toward the doorway.
A servant brought in new pajamas, expressionless. “Sir, Mr. Xuan sent me to assist you with bathing and changing.”
The servant stood to the side, staring motionlessly at Shen Que.
This wasn’t assistance—it was surveillance.
Shen Que raised his hand to put on the pajamas…
Bang!
The bathroom door was violently pushed open from the inside. Shen Que, wearing only a long pajama robe, stumbled and ran into the hallway.
“Sir!”
The servant’s voice called out from behind, but Shen Que paid no attention. All he wanted now was to escape.
He rushed down the stairs. The luxurious decor of the house exuded opulence and nobility.
Yet, this kind of decor was no different from the cage Sheng Xuanzhu had once imprisoned him in.
Several dark figures blocked Shen Que’s path ahead. Servants from both directions closed in to capture him. Shen Que was completely trapped, like a frightened kitten. In a panic, he twisted open a door, hurried inside, and immediately locked it behind him.
Leaning against the door, he slid weakly to the floor, biting his red lips as tears streamed uncontrollably.
Outside, footsteps clamored, and upon closer listening, he could hear the sound of keys.
Shen Que hurried to the window and looked out. It was only two stories high.
Behind him, the sound of keys turning in the lock grew louder. Shen Que didn’t dare delay. He quickly pushed open the window…
“Such seductive legs—it would be a shame if they were broken.”
There was someone in the room!
Shen Que was so frightened that he fell back onto the floor. Instinctively, he looked into the darkness, meeting a pair of cold, venomous eyes.
Shen Que’s gaze trembled, his face pale with shock as he sat on the floor, shrinking back and retreating.
How could it be Mr. Xuan?
He had walked right into the lion’s den…
“Why are you running?” Sheng Xuanzhu reached out and forcefully gripped Shen Que’s chin. He couldn’t understand why Shen Que showed no grief over his death, why he had returned to work so quickly, and why he was already seeking a new patron.
Shen Que resisted, his cold fingers clutching Sheng Xuanzhu’s wrist. “I was tricked by my agency. Please, let me go.”
“Let you go?” Sheng Xuanzhu’s fingers roughly kneaded Shen Que’s fair, soft cheek. Looking down at him, he spoke without mercy. “Wasn’t it you who kept trying to seduce me with your pitiful act?”
Shen Que was stunned by his words, blinking his watery eyes. “No! I didn’t!”
Sheng Xuanzhu had no patience to listen to his explanations. After all, from the moment He Yuan took Shen Que to social events, everything had been arranged by him.
To seize power, Sheng Xuanzhu had no choice but to fake his death. He could abandon everything tied to his former identity—except Shen Que.
After all, a substitute who resembled Wen Zhibai so closely was something he could never find again.
In Sheng Xuanzhu’s mind, Shen Que was nothing more than a fragile omega—parentless, with few friends, relying solely on his grandmother for survival. That he bore some resemblance to Wen Zhibai and could receive his protection was a blessing Shen Que had earned over several lifetimes.
“Mm!”
Sheng Xuanzhu leaned down and kissed Shen Que’s tightly sealed lips. The struggling elbows beneath him struck his abdomen, but the fierce, deer-like resistance only piqued his interest further.
Sheng Xuanzhu reached out and gripped Shen Que’s neck. The suffocating sensation forced Shen Que to open his mouth to breathe, and Sheng Xuanzhu seized the opportunity to bite down hard on the fragrant lips.
Shen Que thrashed his head to evade, his hands pounding against the unyielding shoulders as he cried pitifully, “You’re breaking the law! An alpha can’t… can’t oppress an omega!”
A mocking smile curled at the corner of Sheng Xuanzhu’s lips. As if suddenly showing mercy, he released him. “Then go ahead and call the police.”
At that moment, Shen Que cared about nothing else. He fumbled for his phone and dialed the police, but before the call could go through, another call came in.
“Are you a relative of Ms. Ren Jie? This is City Hospital.”
Shen Que’s heart leaped into his throat. “What happened to Grandma?”
With every word the nurse spoke, Shen Que’s heart sank further, his gaze piercing deeper into Sheng Xuanzhu’s amused expression.
“You did this! What did you do to Grandma?” Shen Que’s accusation lacked any force compared to Sheng Xuanzhu’s presence.
The tall, imposing figure blocked the light before Shen Que’s eyes. Sheng Xuanzhu held the phone in front of him. “If you struggle any more, I’ll have the doctor stop the surgery.”
“No!” Shen Que panicked, grabbing Sheng Xuanzhu’s hand. “You… you’re committing murder!”
Sheng Xuanzhu smiled, his low voice whispering softly, “You can try.”
The air froze instantly. The cold, ticking sound of the second hand seemed to carry an invisible threat toward Shen Que.
Bet his grandmother’s life on whether this man held overwhelming power?
Shen Que didn’t dare gamble.
His grandmother was all he had left.
Shen Que wept helplessly. The door was right in front of him, yet outside, it was surrounded by servants waiting to capture him.
It was as if he had just escaped Sheng Xuanzhu’s cage, only to be thrown into another.
Sheng Xuanzhu wrapped an arm around Shen Que’s waist, lifted him, gripped his slender neck, and tossed him onto the bed before pressing his heavy body down.
The scent of red wine from his earlier bath still lingered. Satisfied, Sheng Xuanzhu held the omega tightly, his hot breath brushing against Shen Que’s ear.
Terrified, Shen Que’s breathing grew erratic. His entire body trembled uncontrollably, tears clinging to the corners of his eyes. In his panic, his gland lost control, releasing pheromones—a faint, woody floral scent that momentarily masked the wine aroma. The alpha, abruptly pulled back to reality, stiffened in surprise.
