The Movie Queen's Silly CEO - Chapter 25
So, if someone cheats after marriage, they get ten billion? Everyone present was momentarily tempted by the idea, imagining what their lives would be like with ten billion. Then they realized it was pointless to fantasize after all, Mu Qing wasn’t interested in any of them.
Feng Xi was stunned. She hadn’t expected Mu Qing to give such an answer. Who thinks about post-marriage cheating before even having a partner?
Should she say Mu Qing was overly cautious, or question why she used cheating as an example?
Clearly, being favored makes one fearless. Unlike those who were drooling over the money, Feng Xi wasn’t thinking about wealth she was wondering how likely Mu Qing was to cheat if they ended up together.
“President Mu, is this your way of giving your partner a sense of security?” Su Xiu couldn’t help but ask.
Mu Qing glanced at Su Xiu. “If you want the answer, beat me in the next round.” In other words, she refused to answer.
Feng Xi was also curious about Su Xiu’s question, so she tugged at her sleeve and whispered, “What if the person you marry tries to frame you for cheating just to get the money?”
Mu Qing frowned and replied in a normal tone, “I’m not that kind of person. Neither are you. I trust my judgment.”
“…” Seeing the other five people staring at her in shock, Feng Xi wanted to cover her face. President Mu, I whispered couldn’t you have whispered back?
The first round was off to a decent start. In the second round, Mu Qing rolled a ten. Su Xiu had the lowest score, and Feng Xi had the highest.
“I choose truth. Feng Xi-jie, ask me anything,” Su Xiu said confidently. She trusted her senior wouldn’t ask anything inappropriate.
Feng Xi could tell Su Xiu had a bit of a crush on her, so she asked a question from way back in time to avoid getting personally involved.
“Su Xiu, did you date anyone in college?” Feng Xi asked.
Su Xiu shook her head. “No, I didn’t.”
“Did you have a crush on anyone?” Shao Qiushuang chimed in. College is prime time for romance, after all.
Su Xiu didn’t answer immediately. She looked at Feng Xi. “Do you want to hear the answer?”
“What does that have to do with me?” Feng Xi tilted her head. “If you don’t mind sharing, go ahead. There’s no production crew here.”
Su Xiu smiled. “I didn’t date, but maybe I had someone I liked.”
“So, a secret crush?” Shao Qiushuang’s gossip radar lit up.
Su Xiu thought for a moment. “Maybe it was a crush.”
Back then, her feelings for her senior weren’t purely romantic there was admiration, gratitude, and longing mixed in. Her senior was beautiful, and who doesn’t like a beauty?
“A crush counts as half a relationship,” Feng Xi laughed. To her, Su Xiu’s college days had nothing to do with her.
“Feng Xi-jie, does that mean I’ve been with the person I liked?” Su Xiu’s eyes sparkled.
Feng Xi thought Su Xiu was being overly idealistic, but then realized the person Su Xiu was talking about might be her. As a senior, she decided not to burst her bubble.
“At least you experienced sweetness. You were happy when you liked them, right?” Feng Xi said gently.
Su Xiu’s smile grew. “Yes! Feng Xi-jie, you’re absolutely right!”
Her senior said they’d been together even if it was just a one-sided crush. She was overjoyed. And seeing her senior with Mu Qing didn’t bother her anymore they actually looked good together.
She was just so, so, so happy. Her senior said they’d been together even if it was just her imagination!
Mu Qing frowned slightly. She had zero interest in Su Xiu’s love life. She just wanted to get on with the game and preferably win the next round, with Feng Xi losing, so she could ask her out again.
“Let’s start the next round,” Mu Qing said, cutting off Shao Qiushuang’s gossip.
Since the investor had spoken, everyone dropped the topic.
Mu Qing held her breath, shook the dice six times, and slowly opened the lid.
Five, five, six sixteen points! Solid!
She smiled and calmly handed the dice to Feng Xi.
“Two, two, one five points,” Feng Xi reported calmly, showing no concern.
Just as Feng Xi expected, her score was the lowest, and Mu Qing’s was the highest.
“I choose truth,” Feng Xi said before Mu Qing could speak.
Mu Qing cleared her throat. “Feng Xi, do you think I—”
Before she could finish, Chen Ning tugged her arm. “President Mu, wait! I suddenly have something urgent to tell you!”
Betting on her three years as an assistant, Chen Ning guessed Mu Qing was about to ask Feng Xi about her feelings. She couldn’t let that happen!
“Urgent?” Mu Qing raised an eyebrow, clearly displeased.
“Extremely urgent! Just give me three minutes,” Chen Ning pleaded, dragging Mu Qing out of the room.
“You’d better have a good reason,” Mu Qing said, adjusting her clothes.
“I’m sorry for the interruption,” Chen Ning said. “But I have a reason.”
Mu Qing frowned. “Go on.”
“Were you about to ask Feng Xi if she likes you?” Chen Ning asked directly.
Mu Qing thought for a moment. “More or less. I wanted to know if she’s open to my pursuit.”
I knew it! Chen Ning looked at her boss with a complicated expression. “You can’t ask that in a game setting. It puts Feng Xi in a very awkward position.”
Mu Qing’s expression changed from anger to curiosity. “I can’t ask?”
“Of course not. There are outsiders present, and this is just a game. You can’t ask such a serious question here!”
Seeing Mu Qing’s change in expression, Chen Ning relaxed. Her boss wasn’t beyond saving.
“President Mu, I’ve seen this happen before. A classmate of mine had a suitor who asked a similar question during a truth-or-dare game.”
Mu Qing grew tense. “And?”
“She was about to say yes to him in a few days. But after that question, her impression of him plummeted.”
“That serious?” Mu Qing asked, now a bit worried.
“Absolutely. She blocked him everywhere and swore she’d never be with him.”
Mu Qing nodded slowly. “I understand. You did well.”
Chen Ning smiled. Her bonus was secure. “It’s my duty as your assistant!”
Mu Qing patted her shoulder. “Five percent raise.”
“Thank you, President Mu!”
Mu Qing returned in under five minutes.
“Company matters resolved?” Feng Xi asked.
“Yes. A shareholder acted out of line. I’ve handled it,” Mu Qing said casually. “Can I continue my question?”
That sounded loaded. Feng Xi spaced out for a moment. “Sure, go ahead.”
“What do you think my flaws are?” Mu Qing asked sincerely.
Flaws? Feng Xi tilted her head. She couldn’t think of any right away.
Mu Qing’s biggest trait was being overly honest sometimes too blunt. And she was rich. Very rich.
But none of that was really a flaw.
“If I had to say something, it’s that you’re too quiet during meals,” Feng Xi replied thoughtfully.
Being silent while eating isn’t bad, but chatting during meals can be fun too.
Mu Qing smiled.
