The Movie Queen's Silly CEO - Chapter 18
Mu Qing’s participation in this lunch wasn’t part of the filming schedule, so the interaction among the six people was quite casual.
Thanks to the dinner they had together the previous night, Shao Qiushuang was clearly more relaxed now. As they chatted, she steered the conversation toward Mu Qing.
“President Mu, you must be really close with Sister Feng Xi. She wears the bracelet you gave her, but not the one I gave her,” Shao Qiushuang said.
Mu Qing paused what she was doing, looked politely at Shao Qiushuang, and nodded. “Yes, Feng Xi and I are very close.”
Shao Qiushuang tilted her head. That’s it? Just one sentence? President Mu, aren’t you going to explain a bit more?
Seeing Shao Qiushuang’s confused expression, Feng Xi nearly laughed out loud. President Mu was just too straightforward always saying things as they are.
“Qiushuang, I’ve kept your bracelet safely. I’ll always treasure it,” Feng Xi tried to smooth things over.
“Mm, Sister Feng Xi, I’ll also treasure the bracelet you gave me!” Shao Qiushuang nodded, not feeling upset that Feng Xi wasn’t wearing her bracelet.
After all, Shao Qiushuang had always idolized Feng Xi, treating her like a goddess. She wanted to be close to Feng Xi, but never thought about being in a romantic relationship with her or maintaining any kind of intimacy.
If anything, Shao Qiushuang was more like a fan hoping her idol would continue to thrive. In this regard, she was very different from Su Xiu.
Mu Qing followed Feng Xi’s gaze and, upon seeing the bracelet on Shao Qiushuang’s wrist, felt a pang of discomfort.
It’s fine, it’s just a bracelet. She reminded herself that she was wearing a watch personally gifted by Feng Xi, worth several million. That watch was worth a hundred bracelets.
After comforting herself, Mu Qing’s expression returned to its usual calm. When a dish Feng Xi liked was served, she used the communal chopsticks to place some in Feng Xi’s bowl.
“Airplane food is usually bland. It’s better to eat well in advance,” Mu Qing advised.
“Mm.” Feng Xi nodded and casually picked up the food with her own chopsticks.
Su Xiu had been watching Mu Qing and Feng Xi’s interaction out of the corner of her eye. Seeing her senior naturally accept Mu Qing’s gesture, her sense of crisis intensified.
“Sister Feng Xi, here, this is freshly squeezed juice.” Su Xiu felt she couldn’t just sit back and watch. She couldn’t feed Feng Xi, but she could at least pour her a drink.
Feng Xi paused, reached out, and accepted it. “Thank you.”
“Sister Feng Xi, no need to be so polite with me,” Su Xiu said with a smile, giving Mu Qing a meaningful glance.
Feng Xi sensed something was off and gently tapped Mu Qing’s arm. “Mu Qing, would you like something to drink?”
Mu Qing glanced at the juice. “Mm, the same as yours is fine.”
Seeing Feng Xi pour juice for Mu Qing, Su Xiu felt another wave of jealousy. It seemed like she had zero chance of winning.
No, she couldn’t give up. Her senior was such a wonderful person she had to fight for her! Even if it was just for the jacket Feng Xi had casually given her, she couldn’t give up easily!
The ones who enjoyed the meal most were Le Xiaoxiao and Xu Leran, who spent the whole time watching the drama unfold. Le Xiaoxiao, a finance major, knew more about Mu Qing and the Mu Group than the others.
To the average person, Mu Group was just a wealthy conglomerate. But Le Xiaoxiao knew the power behind it. If Mu Qing truly liked Feng Xi, then with Mu Qing’s support, Feng Xi’s future would be much smoother.
From her perspective, Feng Xi being with Mu Qing was a very wise decision.
The Thailand trip came to an end. At the airport, the five were surprised to find their business class tickets had been upgraded to first class.
“Did the production team change their style? So generous,” Shao Qiushuang said excitedly. “If this is real, I’ll stop calling them stingy.”
“We’re not stingy, okay? Business class is expensive too,” the executive director replied. “But I do need to clarify this upgrade was thanks to President Mu. She paid for it, not the production team.”
“So the production team is still stingy,” Shao Qiushuang said knowingly, then turned to Mu Qing with a smile. “Thank you, President Mu.”
Mu Qing nodded, indicating she understood. She did it for Feng Xi. This trip to Northern Europe would be long, and first class would be much more comfortable.
Since Mu Qing paid, the seating was arranged accordingly. She and Feng Xi were neighbors, separated only by a narrow aisle.
“I’m right next to you. Just knock if you need anything,” Mu Qing said after Feng Xi settled in.
“This flight will take about ten hours. You can watch a movie and then sleep. It’ll be evening when we arrive, so you’ll have time to adjust to the time difference,” Mu Qing said seriously. “The airplane food is average, but some desserts are quite good. You should try them.”
“Okay, I’ll remember that.” Feng Xi smiled. “Mu Qing, thank you. Get some rest.”
“It’s no trouble.”
Back at her seat, Mu Qing immediately pulled out her phone and transferred 1,000 yuan to Chen Ning.
Mu Qing: Bonus. The advice you gave me was very helpful.
Chen Ning: Thank you, President Mu~
Chen Ning: I’ve already asked the production team about the accommodations. I’ve arranged for your room to be right next to Sister Feng Xi’s. Just a few steps away!
Mu Qing: Nicely done.
Mu Qing praised her and sent another red envelope.
Seeing the amount, Chen Ning grinned from ear to ear. She was one step closer to saving up for her wedding!
Normally, long international flights were exhausting, but first class was a whole different experience. Private space, snacks, drinks, and a 20-inch screen with movies. You could even ask the flight attendant to turn your seat into a bed.
Think rich people are just happy? No their happiness is beyond imagination!
The plane sliced through the clouds, leaving its mark in the blue sky.
Because it was close to National Day, the next filming location was a small city in Northern Europe not a famous tourist spot.
“This time, you’ll face a serious challenge!” the executive director shouted through a megaphone. “You’ll spend three days and nights here with no help from the production team. Aside from the initial startup funds, you’ll have to earn everything else through labor.”
It sounded like the next few days would be tough.
Feng Xi glanced at Mu Qing, who stood behind the director with Chen Ning, each carrying a backpack and suitcase.
But with Mu Qing around, if anything went wrong, she’d surely help.
Feng Xi couldn’t help but smile, which the director took as mockery.
“Also, on the last day, you’ll hike a 200-meter snow mountain and complete specific actions for aerial filming,” the director added. “Start preparing now!”
Compared to the playful Thailand trip, this Northern Europe journey was a real challenge. They hadn’t even entered the house yet, and the trials had begun.
“Due to limited electricity, you’ll need to chop wood and use the fireplace to heat the room,” the director continued. “Of course, you can skip chopping and use your youthful bodies to warm the bed.”
In early October, Northern Europe was already deep into autumn, with snow in some areas. Nighttime temperatures dropped to -3°C. Without firewood, it was easy to catch a cold.
“Director, where are the axes and wood? You’re providing those, right?” Feng Xi asked.
“Yes, you can get them from the backyard,” the director replied. “We won’t help beyond that. You have 1,000 euros for three days. You can buy groceries but not household items or food.”
Feng Xi gave an OK gesture and went to put away her luggage.
The house was a two-story building like the one in Thailand, with one single room and two double rooms.
Everyone settled into their rooms as before, and Su Xiu regretted not choosing to room with her senior.
There’s no such thing as regret medicine. Looking at the 20cm-thick logs, the five of them were at a loss.
“There are only two axes,” Shao Qiushuang said, placing them by the logs. “Who’s the strongest?”
Su Xiu weighed the axe. “Strength doesn’t matter now. Let’s take turns chopping.”
The production team wasn’t too harsh each person only had to chop one log into firewood no thicker than 5cm.
“That means each log has an ideal area of 100π. If each piece is 6.25π, we need 16 pieces per log,” Le Xiaoxiao calculated. “Should take about half an hour.”
“Sounds doable,” Xu Leran said, picking up an axe. “I’ll try first.”
Xu Leran had some experience from visiting his grandparents in the countryside. Even so, chopping wood was tough after five minutes, he’d only split the log in half.
“Qiushan, give me your axe,” Feng Xi said after observing for five minutes. She joined in.
Feng Xi wasn’t particularly strong, and her chopping speed matched Xu Leran’s.
When Mu Qing arrived, she saw Feng Xi and Xu Leran working hard, their breath visible in the cold air.
“Director, can others help
