The Movie Queen’s Charming Little Wife: Feigning Amnesia Online - Chapter 13
Chapter 13
“What… are you doing… ghack…”
Lin Mo grabbed Xue Luhe’s wrists, desperately trying to pry them open, but they wouldn’t budge. Her feet even left the ground, kicking wildly at the carpet. No matter how she struggled, Xue Luhe’s hands remained clamped like iron.
Involuntary tears welled up. Lin Mo tried to scream for help, but her voice came out as a raspy whisper: “Help… let… go…”
Xue Luhe’s cool voice sounded as if it were coming from a great distance, echoing in Lin Mo’s fading consciousness: “You are… my thing… you are not allowed… to run away…”
After an unknown amount of time, a crisp knock on the door interrupted them. Xue Luhe let go and walked toward the door to open it.
Lin Mo gasped for air, her chest heaving as she massaged her throat. The skin where she had been choked burned with stinging pain. Fury surged in her heart. Seeing Xue Luhe’s back turned, she immediately limped forward, intending to tackle the woman and give her a beating.
However, Xue Luhe seemed to have eyes in the back of her head. While Lin Mo was still a distance away and before Xue Luhe had even turned around, the older woman reached back and accurately pressed a hand against Lin Mo’s stomach.
Lin Mo’s flailing offensive was halted. She ground her teeth in rage. “If you’re so capable, let go and fight me face-to-face! Just because you’re having a mental episode doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to get revenge!”
Xue Luhe ignored her, opened the door, and nodded to the butler waiting outside. The butler glanced at Lin Mo with a hesitant look and whispered, “Miss, Ms. Lu Ruoruo is here to see Ms. Lin.”
He stepped aside to reveal a startled, small face with a pointed chin behind him.
Xue Luhe turned around, using one hand to hold Lin Mo firmly and the other to pull the restless girl into her embrace, patting her back a few times to soothe her.
Lin Mo roared, “Do you think I’m three years old?! What is this posture? Are you comforting a toddler? You’re a psychopath!”
Holding Lin Mo close, Xue Luhe nodded calmly toward the door. “Hello, Ms. Lu. Mo Mo likes to act spoiled; I apologize for the scene.”
Lu Ruoruo, witnessing the whole thing from the doorway, felt her head spin. “Acting spoiled?”
Lin Mo was equally incredulous. “Your skin is thicker than the Great Wall! Was that ‘acting spoiled’? You just—mph! Mmmph!“
At the critical moment, Xue Luhe calmly raised her hand and covered Lin Mo’s mouth, stuffing all her protests back into her throat. Then, looking at the stunned Lu Ruoruo, she said, “Come in and chat.”
The Devil’s Whisper
Lu Ruoruo followed them in, trembling. Xue Luhe pointed to a small side table by the bed. “Sit.”
She sat on the bed still holding Lin Mo, her hand still clamped over the girl’s mouth. Lin Mo’s round face was flushed red from holding her breath, and her eyes were brimming with tears, desperately trying to convey her contempt for Xue Luhe. But because her eyes were misty, the glare lost its edge, making her look more like a distressed baby rabbit.
As Xue Luhe watched her, she suddenly lowered her head.
Lin Mo froze. Her entire body went rigid. What is this freak doing… is she crazy?
Xue Luhe actually lowered her head and planted a soft kiss… on the back of her own hand that was covering Lin Mo’s mouth!
Her profile was stunning. As she leaned down, a strand of black hair slid from her temple and brushed against Lin Mo’s cheek. It felt cool and smooth, as if Xue Luhe had actually kissed her skin.
Lu Ruoruo, watching from the side, covered her mouth to keep from screaming.
Maintaining the close distance, Xue Luhe focused her gaze on Lin Mo’s eyes and whispered, “Be good, be obedient… okay? Nod your head.”
The voice used some unknown technique; it was as beautiful as celestial music and incredibly intoxicating. Even Lin Mo, who had wanted to fight a moment ago, found herself nodding. The whisper of a devil must sound like this, a thought flashed through her dazed mind.
Satisfied with the promise, Xue Luhe smiled and let go.
Lin Mo felt the lingering scent of Xue Luhe on her lips, cheeks, and nose—a cold, refreshing fragrance. Despite the cool scent, her face felt hot and wouldn’t cool down. Xue Luhe kept her arms around Lin Mo’s waist, letting the girl sit right on her lap.
The posture made even the socially experienced Lu Ruoruo blush. In reality, only Lin Mo could feel the cold hands firmly pressing against the soft flesh of her waist—a silent, powerful threat.
What is she worried about? Lin Mo wondered. That I’ll plot an escape with Ruoruo? She had intended to, but with Ruoruo sitting right here in front of Xue Luhe, how could she do anything?
The “Spoiled” Wife
“You’re here to see Mo Mo, right? She sprained her ankle recently and can’t go out with you. I’m truly sorry,” Xue Luhe said in an elegant, gentle tone, sounding every bit like a refined, doting wife.
Lu Ruoruo sat with her legs pressed together, looking uncomfortable. She forced a smile. “Yes… I just came to check on her. Haven’t seen her in a while.”
Xue Luhe nodded and reached up to stroke Lin Mo’s hair. It felt like a cold mollusk crawling over her skin; Lin Mo shivered, her scalp tingling. But to Lu Ruoruo, the gesture looked incredibly intimate.
Lu Ruoruo mustered her courage and spoke to Lin Mo: “Lin Mo… didn’t you say on the phone that you… you have amnesia? Is it true?”
Lin Mo said expressionlessly, “Yes.”
She actually asked that in front of Xue Luhe? She just gave away our cards! Lin Mo thought. It seems Ruoruo’s IQ is as worrisome as mine. Two idiots against a genius like Xue Luhe… forget it.
Lu Ruoruo looked surprised. “Then… um… doesn’t Chairman Xue mind?”
Xue Luhe naturally took over the conversation with a smile. “I didn’t realize how cute Mo Mo was before. It’s because of the amnesia that I realized how much I like her. Of course I don’t mind.”
Lu Ruoruo nodded skeptically. After a moment of awkward silence, she asked, “What’s with all those clothes outside?”
“Mo Mo has trouble walking but wanted to go shopping, so I brought the shops to her,” Xue Luhe replied.
“Wow…” Lu Ruoruo glanced at Lin Mo, trying to signal something with her eyes. But Lin Mo sat dejectedly by Xue Luhe’s side, failing to catch the signal.
Xue Luhe stroked Lin Mo’s hair again, her touch light as if handling fragile porcelain. “What’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable somewhere?”
Lin Mo shook her head, then looked up and shot Xue Luhe a resentful glare. “My neck hurts!”
Xue Luhe chuckled. Her slender fingers reached out to gently stroke Lin Mo’s neck, occasionally applying pressure. Lin Mo’s skin broke into goosebumps.
“Does it hurt here? Or here?” Xue Luhe began to massage the back of Lin Mo’s neck. Her technique was surprisingly good. Pressing certain spots made Lin Mo feel so comfortable she wanted to moan, forcing her to suppress her voice.
“Mmh… stop… I don’t want it… ah!…” Lin Mo’s voice rose and fell, her head tilting back involuntarily, exposing her fragile neck to Xue Luhe.
Xue Luhe’s gaze darkened. Her fingers reflexively tightened, pressing against the pulsing artery in Lin Mo’s neck. She traced the vessel, imagining the blood rushing from the heart to the capillaries in Lin Mo’s cheeks. She liked this “living toy” much better than Mu Fei.
Lu Ruoruo couldn’t take it anymore. She stood up. “Um, Chairman Xue, Lin Mo, I have things to do. I’ll be going now.”
Lin Mo turned her head to say something, but Xue Luhe’s hand on her shoulder pinned her back to the bed.
“Alright. The butler will arrange a car for you,” Xue Luhe said.
“No, no, thank you! I have my own driver,” Lu Ruoruo said. She turned back one last time. “Lin Mo, why was your pink car smashed? Didn’t you love that car?”
Lin Mo opened her mouth to say it was Xue Luhe, but she caught the older woman’s neutral, sweeping glance. She shivered and stayed silent.
Xue Luhe said casually, “She didn’t like it anymore after waking up with amnesia. I didn’t want anyone else using something she had used, so I had it smashed. I’ll have someone haul it away in a few days.”
Lu Ruoruo left. Lin Mo watched the open door with a sense of loss. She knew she had lost her only potential ally.
Xue Luhe’s hand remained on her neck, ruffling her hair playfully. “Let’s continue shopping, Mo Mo.”
Lin Mo noticed the change in the way she was addressed but lacked the energy to correct her. She followed Xue Luhe out like the walking dead.
