The Movie Queen’s Charming Little Wife: Feigning Amnesia Online - Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Lin Mo’s first internal reaction was: I might be uneducated, but don’t try to fool me!
This woman truly didn’t have a single honest word in her mouth!
She crossed her arms confidently, gave a side-eye, and tilted her chin up, trying her best to project a sarcastic smile. “Really? Then you must have agreed. Are you going to kick me out to fend for myself now?”
Xue Luhe looked at the girl in front of her. Lin Mo was pretending to be indifferent, but she was actually very tense; her hands were balled into fists inside her sleeves. Her cheeks were flushed, and her lips were slightly pouted—a sight that caused a ripple of emotion in Xue Luhe’s heart.
Xue Luhe nodded, admitting it frankly. “What if I told you I already agreed?”
For some reason, Lin Mo’s throat tightened, and her voice suddenly went hoarse. The beautiful woman sitting leisurely before her spoke with a relaxed tone and a playful gaze, seemingly indifferent to Lin Mo’s feelings.
But if she really didn’t care, why come and tell me this? Why not just have the butler throw me out?
Lin Mo stared at her toes for a long time before speaking. “Then let me go. I’ll find a job on my own. I won’t stay here to be an eyesore.”
Xue Luhe gave her a cool glance and let out a cold snort of displeasure. “It was just a joke, and you took it seriously. What a fool.”
Her voice, even when angry or mocking, was incredibly pleasant to the ear. Having said her piece, she didn’t linger; she walked straight out and closed the door.
The Red Silk Seduction
Lin Mo leaned against a chair, her legs feeling weak. The black suit Xue Luhe had worn today was stunning, exuding an irresistible charm that made Lin Mo recall the terrifying image of her standing by the bed the night before.
Whenever she talked to Xue Luhe, she felt like she was standing in front of a strict school principal. Her palms sweated, her face flushed, and her eyes darted around—involuntary bodily reactions she couldn’t control.
After a long rest and a lunch of braised fish, spicy chicken, and sweet and sour ribs, Lin Mo finally relaxed and analyzed the conversation. Xue Luhe calling it a “joke” meant two things: either she didn’t agree to Mu Fei’s “sponsorship” request, or Mu Fei never made such a request.
Given the original plot, Lin Mo bet on the latter. So why lie to me? To see if I’d get jealous? Xue Luhe is just unpredictable and moody. A pervert’s mind cannot be fathomed by normal people!
That night, Xue Luhe didn’t return until late. Just as Lin Mo was about to sleep, the door opened. Startled, she scrambled to put on her slippers. By the time she managed it with her bad foot, the visitor had already entered the suite.
Lin Mo looked up and froze.
It was Xue Luhe! She was wearing a deep-red silk camisole nightgown, her hair pinned up with a jade hairpin. In her porcelain-white hand, she carried a giant pillow.
Her figure was exquisitely graceful—sexy and sharp. Her long hair was still damp with steam, and she wore wooden clogs on her bare feet, looking like a spirit that had just emerged from the mountains. Her gaze swept over Lin Mo like a hooked wind, her eyes dark and mysterious, the mole under her eye faint but impossible to ignore.
Lin Mo was completely mesmerized. This was a level of beauty she had never seen in her previous life. The visual impact was so strong she forgot to speak.
Xue Luhe flicked a damp strand of hair from her cheek, bringing with her a cool, fragrant breeze. Lin Mo finally snapped out of it. “Why are you here? This is…”
She wanted to say “my room,” but stopped. Technically, the whole villa belonged to Xue Luhe under their prenuptial agreement.
“This is our master bedroom—the bridal suite. Don’t you remember?” Xue Luhe’s voice was softer than it had been during the day.
As she spoke, she walked to the bed, placed her giant pillow down, and tested the mattress’s firmness. Lin Mo watched with wide eyes as Xue Luhe—actually, truly—lay down on the bed!
The silk nightgown, the long legs, the slim waist, the ivory arms… and that dangerous, smiling face. It was more vivid and beautiful than an oil painting. Lin Mo felt a rush of heat surge toward her nose. She immediately clutched her face and stumbled toward the bathroom!
“What’s wrong?” Xue Luhe’s magnetic voice trailed after her, clearly amused.
Lin Mo dashed into the bathroom and lowered her hand. Sure enough, dark red blood was trickling from her nose.
This is… embarrassing. Am I so thirsty that I get a nosebleed from looking at a beautiful woman? Thank god I used to be good at controlling my heart rate, or I’d have a heart attack right now!
The Chicken Roll Strategy
Lin Mo stayed in the bathroom for ten minutes, stuffing her nose with tissue until the bleeding stopped. She composed herself and walked back out. Xue Luhe was lying on her side, browsing a tablet as if she had slept in this bed her whole life.
“You’re sleeping here tonight?” Lin Mo asked seriously.
Xue Luhe turned her head slowly and nodded.
“Fine.” Lin Mo grabbed her own quilt from the bed, spread it out on the carpet, hopped over to grab her pillow, and tossed it down. She lay down, wiggled her body, and rolled herself tightly into the quilt like a KFC Twister.
She poked her head out and looked at Xue Luhe. “You sleep there. I’ll sleep here.”
Xue Luhe watched the “fuzzy head” looking up from the floor quilt and let out a rare, uncontrolled twitch of the lips. “What are you doing?”
“Sleeping,” Lin Mo replied. The plush carpet was comfortable and clean, and she felt safe in her “roll.”
Xue Luhe leaned over the edge of the bed. “Why not sleep on the bed?”
Lin Mo answered bluntly: “I’m afraid you’ll eat me.”
Xue Luhe: “…”
After a silence, she asked, “Am I that scary to you? Like a man-eating monster?”
Lin Mo glanced at Xue Luhe’s expression. Seeing she wasn’t angry, she nodded boldly. “Yes!”
Xue Luhe let out a soft, melodic chuckle. “Heh…” It made Lin Mo’s ears tingle like ants were crawling on them.
The lights were turned off. Just as Lin Mo was on the verge of sleep, a distant, ethereal voice whispered: “Goodnight, dear.”
Muddied by sleep, Lin Mo murmured “Goodnight” back. She almost succumbed to slumber when a spark of realization hit her. She snapped her eyes open—and came face-to-face with a pair of dark eyes!
Xue Luhe was leaning over the edge of the bed, watching her intently from inches away. From Lin Mo’s perspective, the face was upside down and incredibly close—scarier than ten Sadakos combined!
“AHHHHHHH! ARE YOU A GHOST?! YOU SCARED ME TO DEATH!”
Lin Mo practically levitated as she scrambled to turn on the lights. Xue Luhe sat up, one strap of her nightgown falling off her shoulder, looking somewhat innocent. “I was just saying goodnight.”
Lin Mo’s hair was a mess, and her eyes were red with fright. “You came here on purpose to scare me to death, didn’t you?! You’re terrifying! Waaaaah…”
“I really was just checking if you were asleep,” Xue Luhe said, spreading her hands helplessly.
Lin Mo didn’t listen. She scooped up her quilt roll, dragged her injured foot out to the outer sitting room, and threw her bedding onto the rug there. She slammed the inner door shut, blocking out the beauty’s face, and curled up shivering in her quilt.
She eventually fell asleep in the early hours of the morning.
However, when she woke up the next day… she was back in the big bed.
Next to her lay Xue Luhe’s deep-red nightgown. From the bathroom came the sound of running water.
Xue Luhe… was taking a shower?
Ah… she must look so good…
Lin Mo quickly clutched her nose and commanded herself to stop thinking.
