- Chapter 7 - Master Will Sleep With Xiao Chen
“If Xiao Chen is truly upset, then tonight, I shall”
Tonight.
Tonight what? What exactly was Yu Huaixin going to say?
Lying on the bed in his light gray pajamas, Li Sichen tossed and turned but was unable to sleep. His mind was stuck on that unfinished sentence from earlier in the day. It was all the fault of that disciple who had so dutifully stepped forward to bow and interrupted Yu Huaixin at such a crucial moment. It was incredibly frustrating.
“Forget it, I will not think about it anymore.”
Li Sichen sat up abruptly and was determined to stop dwelling on it. Even if he knew, what could he do? He had already told himself he would not have any improper thoughts about Yu Huaixin; otherwise, how would he be any different from those scoundrels? Even if he did have feelings, it should only be after he was certain his heart was sincere and Yu Huaixin had clearly expressed mutual interest. Anything else was simply wrong.
Unable to sleep, Li Sichen started chatting with the little blue ball.
“System, can you really find no clues about that poison, Falling Nether, in your big data?”
The little blue ball nodded. “Yes. It is not that it is completely unfindable, but every time I try to explore it, I get shielded by the world setting system. I cannot get in at all.”
“Shielded? Why?”
After some thought, Xiao Lan replied, “It is likely because it is the most critical item in this book. The important plot points depend on its existence, so it cannot be deleted. Even if we wanted to remove it, it would not be easy.”
“Critical item?” Li Sichen still did not quite understand.
Xiao Lan explained again, “Aiyaya, let me put it this way. The book you have traveled into is actually a smut novel. The plot is all about physical desires rather than emotional depth. The whole thing lacks substance because it is all adult content, and those exciting subplots all rely on Falling Nether as a key catalyst. So, trying to delete it is definitely not going to be easy. You do not have to worry; take it slow.”
Li Sichen understood now. This really was not a serious book.
The world loved to see pure things stained with mud and filth. They enjoyed watching beautiful people struggle in pain only to fall into the abyss and never return, all to satisfy their so-called pleasures. In this book, Yu Huaixin was the sacrificial lamb, a victim who remained unaware until the end. Just what kind of brainless author wrote this trash? Could they be dragged out and beaten to death?
“Oh, right! Host, I thought of a way! Maybe you can try this!”
“What?”
Xiao Lan’s face turned serious. “You could find some samples of Falling Nether, study its components, and then manufacture a corresponding antidote. It should not be a big problem.”
“Analyze samples and research an antidote? Do you hear yourself?”
“Hehe.”
“Besides, I do not have that stuff right now. That bastard used up all the poison. Where am I supposed to find it?”
Li Sichen’s mood hit rock bottom. For the nth time, he wanted to use the original owner’s soul as a punching bag.
“Do not lose heart, Host! I can actually help you handle the research and production of the antidote! One hundred percent reliable! You just need to pay 100 points. As for the sample, the protagonist’s body must have plenty of the toxin’s components integrated into it. You just need to find a way to get some of his blood because the effect is the same.”
Take his blood?
Li Sichen could not help but think of that night. His body was like flawless white jade. If he had to leave a wound on it, Li Sichen really could not bring himself to do it.
A knock sounded at the door. While Li Sichen was caught in his dilemma, the sound of knocking echoed. Though he did not know who it was yet, a strong sense of unease rose in his heart, a feeling that the visitor was someone he was very familiar with.
Li Sichen jumped out of bed to open the door. Sure enough, the moment he saw the visitor, his heart rate spiked uncontrollably.
“Master? Why are you”
Yu Huaixin smiled, and his eyes curved like crescents. He answered softly, “Master has come tonight to sleep with Xiao Chen.” As he spoke, he waved the light, snow colored silk quilt in his arms. He truly doted on Li Sichen like a child.
Li Sichen was paralyzed with nerves. He did not know whether to happily let him stay or find a way to make him leave. After all, two adults sleeping together really did not seem appropriate.
“Host, what are you standing there for? Let him in! What a great opportunity! Quick, quick, quick! Speed it up!”
The little blue ball urged him anxiously. Between the system’s pestering and his genuine concern about the poison in Yu Huaixin’s body, plus the fact that Yu Huaixin was standing there smiling so tenderly, Li Sichen agreed in a daze.
However, a new problem soon arose: the bed was too small.
“Master, the bed is too small for both of us. How about I sleep on the floor and you sleep on the bed?”
As he spoke, Li Sichen stepped forward to grab the blanket from his bed to spread on the floor, but Yu Huaixin stopped him.
With a doting expression, Yu Huaixin took the blanket from Li Sichen, placed it on the side table, and pulled Li Sichen’s hand to sit with him on the edge of the bed.
“The ground is cold. How can you sleep there? Xiao Chen, you seem to have grown distant from me. Is it really because I have cared too little for you lately?”
“No, Master, do not overthink it!” He really just thought it was not right for two people to squeeze into such a small bed.
“Is that true?” Yu Huaixin’s eyes lit up with unmistakable joy. He was so cute it was unfair, and it made it impossible to refuse him.
“It is just that the bed is indeed too small. You will be uncomfortable sleeping with me. How about”
Before Li Sichen could finish, Yu Huaixin replied, “If the bed is too small, then Xiao Chen will share a quilt with me. Just like when you were young, Master will hold you and coax you to sleep.”
What? He had to be held?
