- The Master Possessed An Innate Charm, Irresistibly Seducing His Young Disciple
- Chapter 3 - Hoping for His Safety
Li Sichen was twenty-one years old before traveling into this book. He had recently graduated from university and came from a family of martial arts masters. Due to his background, he had a decisive and vigorous personality. While he had a good heart, he also had a short fuse. His blunt way of speaking often left people fuming after a conversation.
This was mainly because his tongue was not known for its mercy.
Due to his academic focus, he had never considered dating. He never imagined that facing Yu Huaixin, another man, would make him so nervous that his heart would race. Perhaps it was because Yu Huaixin was simply too beautiful. His beauty made Li Sichen feel lightheaded just by looking at him. It stripped away his rational thought and left him unable to describe such perfection and purity.
When faced with truly exquisite things, people often find themselves lacking the words to do them justice. It felt as if any description failed to capture even a fraction of the actual beauty.
The rising mist washed away the bloodstains on Yu Huaixin’s skin, and with Li Sichen’s help, the wounds slowly began to heal. However, the agony remained. As soon as Yu Huaixin’s hands were freed, he instinctively began to claw at his own shoulders and neck again.
Seeing this, Li Sichen firmly pressed Yu Huaixin’s hands against his own chest to stop him. “Stop scratching!” Yu Huaixin might not have realized it, but Li Sichen knew that such self-mutilation would not reduce the pain; it would only make it worse.
Although Yu Huaixin knew Li Sichen meant well and simply could not bear to see him self-destruct, the sensation was unbearable. “Xiao Chen, let go, okay? I beg of you.”
Yu Huaixin gazed at Li Sichen with tear-filled eyes. Li Sichen felt his heart soften, but he still did not release his grip. If he let go now out of pity, it would be no different from watching the person in his arms walk back into the abyss. The moment the poison flared was indeed excruciating, but as long as they endured it, there was a chance for everything to change.
“It will be alright. Just endure it, and everything will be fine. Master, this time, I am with you.” Li Sichen would not let that shameful past repeat itself. He was certain that if Yu Huaixin were conscious, he would feel the same way. If there were a choice, how could Yu Huaixin ever willingly sink into degradation?
Who would choose to live a life worse than death without any dignity?
“Xiao Chen, Xiao Chen.”
Watching Yu Huaixin’s suffering, Li Sichen ultimately could not bear it. He decided to find ropes to temporarily bind Yu Huaixin’s limbs, which would prevent him from doing any further harm to himself.
Once he finished, Li Sichen asked the system, “How much longer until the effects of this poison stop?”
Xiao Lan quickly replied, “Each flare up of Falling Nether lasts for four hours. It causes mental confusion, a loss of cultivation, and unbearable physical pain. Based on the time, it should be over in another three hours.”
“Mental confusion? If his consciousness is clouded, will he remember what I am doing to him now after he recovers?”
Xiao Lan shook its head. “He will not! Rest assured, Host! You can do whatever you want right now!”
Li Sichen rolled his eyes at the comment about doing whatever he wanted. Everyone in this wretched book seemed to bully Yu Huaixin, and even this system acted like a spectator looking for a thrill. Li Sichen felt genuinely angry on Yu Huaixin’s behalf. Although he could not feel the exact physical pain, his indignation and distress were not diminished in the slightest.
Since he said he would help Yu Huaixin, he would certainly do so. Nothing would change that, and he would not take advantage of the man in this situation. After a moment of reflection, Li Sichen looked at the figure in the bath and made a firm resolution. He knew there was more than one way to help Yu Huaixin, and he would stay true to his heart by doing nothing improper and harboring no indecent thoughts.
Although he had spent most of the day without finding a cure for the Falling Nether, they had managed to survive the night. He decided to search in earnest for a way to neutralize the poison tomorrow.
After carrying Yu Huaixin back to the bed and settling him in, Li Sichen retreated from the room without lingering. Guided by the memories he had seen earlier, he made his way to his own residence, Qingning Dwelling.
At first glance, the room was quite normal. As the disciple of the Chief Elder Yu Huaixin, his residence was not massive, but it was spacious for one person. It was equipped with a wooden table, a small bed, bookshelves, and all the necessary utensils. There was even the spiritual sword Yanpo, which was personally bestowed upon him by Yu Huaixin.
Yu Huaixin had always cared deeply for this disciple and attended to every detail he could. It was tragic that he was ultimately betrayed by the one he trusted most. Every time Li Sichen thought of this, he felt the urge to strangle the original soul of this body.
Unfortunately, that soul was nowhere to be found, leaving only the body for his use. He would not hold a grudge against an empty shell. Li Sichen sat cross-legged on his bed and called out, “System, come out!”
“I am here, Host! What is up?”
Li Sichen said, “Tell me right now: what are your functions? What can you do? Also, if I really fail this mission, how will it affect you?”
Li Sichen knew that while he wanted to help Yu Huaixin, he was just one person with limited power. He did not understand this cultivation world well enough. Even if he kept the secret, there was no guarantee others would not find out. The only resource he could rely on was this small system that brought him here, so he had to understand it thoroughly.
System Xiao Lan did not refuse and told Li Sichen everything it knew.
“It is like this: I am System Number M0776, a stream of consciousness service system. My developed functions include: 24/7 chatting, plot archiving, alarm clock timing, reward score tracking, a points exchange pool, and a wish granting card pool.”
The system provided detailed introductions for each function, and Li Sichen memorized them all so he could use them accurately when needed.
“If the Host fails the final mission, my KPI will drop, and I will not receive the upgrade package from above. If I do not upgrade for a long time, I will be phased out.” The blue sphere’s voice grew more aggrieved as it spoke.
“And if I complete this for you, what do I get?” Li Sichen asked.
“A free ten roll gacha draw!”
Li Sichen was unimpressed. “I do not care about that. If I complete this mission, you must promise me three things. First, send me safely back to my original world. Second, ensure he will never be harmed again. Third.”
“What is the third thing?”
“I will save the third for later. I will tell you when I need it. Well? Do we have a deal?”
“Deal!” Once the transaction was settled, the system bounced around happily like an underage child.
Li Sichen did not think it was cute. He thought about the poison in Yu Huaixin’s body and felt worried. He did not know how much more it would torture him. Why did such a compassionate and beautiful immortal have to endure such agony?
Outside the door, a sudden knock sounded, followed by a familiar male voice. “Senior Brother, it is me. Open up.”
When Li Sichen heard this voice, his fists clenched instantly, and his eyes flashed with unmistakable rage.
Qiu Lu was the lackey with whom the original Li Sichen had a private friendship. Today was the day he and Li Sichen were supposed to secretly connect and hand over the evidence of Yu Huaixin’s Pure Sacred Body to the Sect Leader.
