The Lost Omega Heiress is Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 8
She’s Not Disabled!
Nian Xue disliked that term.
Frowning, she retorted seriously, “Anzhi is my Alpha. I’ll help her in the future.”
“I said I wanted to go with her, but she didn’t agree.”
Lin Wenshui’s expression froze when she heard the words “my Alpha.”
She let out a light laugh, laced with a hint of mockery.
“You really don’t understand anything, do you?”
She studied Nian Xue and said slowly, “Do you think Anzhi is some kind of powerful Alpha?”
“You should be able to tell, right? Shi Anzhi doesn’t even have a complete pheromone profile. She’s disabled.”
“If it weren’t for my family’s support, she wouldn’t even be able to keep this fruit shop running. Staying with her will only mean suffering alongside her.”
Nian Xue had never heard such harsh words before and immediately refuted, “She’s not disabled!”
All she knew was that Shi Anzhi was the kindest and most reliable person in the world to her.
“Whether she is or not, you know it in your heart.”
Lin Wenshui’s gaze turned disdainful. She leaned in closer, lowering her voice as if sharing a malicious secret. “Guess what Shi Anzhi is doing out so late?”
“The work at Teng Ying isn’t exactly clean. Sometimes, it involves bloodshed. What if she doesn’t come back? What will you do all alone?”
Bloodshed not coming back.
Those words struck Nian Xue’s heart like a heavy blow.
In an instant, the image of Shi Anzhi’s resolute back as she left flashed through her mind, and an unprecedented fear surged within her.
She hated this Omega in front of her.
Hated her intensely.
“Get out!”
Nian Xue stood up, pointing at the door, her voice trembling with anger. “Leave!”
Lin Wenshui hadn’t expected Nian Xue to react so strongly. She was taken aback for a moment before standing up as well.
“Ungrateful.”
She snorted coldly. “I was just trying to give you a friendly warning. You’d better pray she comes back alive tonight.”
“It’s because of you that Shi Anzhi has to do this.”
“Why take it out on me?”
With that, she picked up the bowl of untouched soup, turned to leave, and slammed the door shut with a loud bang.
The room fell into a deathly silence once more.
Nian Xue slid to the floor, clutching the pillow tightly in her arms, unable to hold back her tears.
Where had Shi Anzhi gone?
In the suffocating wait, Nian Xue walked to the window and gazed out at the pitch-black alley.
She hated this feeling of being unable to help someone she cared about. In her memories, she hadn’t always been like this.
Then what had she been like before?? Why couldn’t she remember?
Her head ached terribly.
Shi Anzhi, you must come back.
*
The Revelry Club was the most luxurious and decadent place
He now worked security at the fight club. After finding Shi Anzhi, he pulled her aside.
“Are you insane? How could you take a job like this?”
Shi Anzhi sighed helplessly. “I need the money.”
Ah Shan looked at her slender frame and frowned. “That woman Teng Ying none of the jobs she recommends are any good.”
“This place doesn’t run on skill, it runs on lives. You’re not like me. You still have.” He paused. “You’re not alone anymore.”
He had just learned from Teng Ying that Shi Anzhi had rescued an Omega.
Hearing this, Shi Anzhi smiled faintly, her expression tinged with loneliness amid the noisy arena. “It’s precisely because I’m not alone anymore that I need money even more.”
Ah Shan fell silent.
He understood the law of survival in District R: here, money meant life, dignity, and the only means to protect what you cherished.
“Alright, Anzhi.”
“I’ve looked into your opponent. His nickname is Mad Bull. He used to be a miner in District D and will do anything for money.”
“He’s incredibly strong, but his footwork is unstable. From what I’ve observed, his stamina is average, and his reflexes worsen as the fight goes on. Your chance will come after the three-minute mark.”
Shi Anzhi listened carefully, already strategizing in her mind.
Ah Shan looked at her, his expression serious. “Remember, show no mercy in the ring. Treat him like that local thug who stole from you back in the day.”
“If you don’t go for the kill, he will. You can’t even sense his pheromones. If you hesitate, you’ll lose for sure.”
“I understand.”
Shi Anzhi nodded, touched by his concern. “I’ll share the prize money with you if I win.”
Ah Shan patted her shoulder. “Just make it back alive.”
A massive octagonal cage stood at the center of the arena, surrounded by tiered seating packed to capacity.
The wealthy loved nothing more than watching the bottom-feeders of District R tear each other apart like wild beasts for prize money.
In the luxurious private box at the top of the arena, a woman in a black suit held a glass of red wine, her face expressionless as she observed the scene below.
Her name was Ji Tianheng, the empire’s largest arms dealer and one of the true powers behind the chaotic District R.
Her company, Tianheng Industries, monopolized over 70% of the empire’s arms trade, from high-energy rifles to battleship cannons.
As the sole heir of her family, she was notorious for her ruthlessness.
She had little interest in such crude entertainment. She was only here today to discuss business and meet a few friends.
Her subordinates had arranged the evening’s spectacle to liven things up.
“Tianheng, who would’ve thought that old fox Shen Hong would one day come begging to you?”
Sitting across from her was her friend and deputy, a male Alpha named Qin Chuan. Dressed in a flashy bright purple suit, he watched the ring with keen interest.
“He’s not begging. It’s a transaction.”
The Shen family, the empire’s largest real estate and biopharmaceutical conglomerate, had been locked in a covert struggle with the Ji family for decades. The grudges between them ran deeper than the trash heaps of District R.
“A transaction? I heard he’s asking for help.”
Qin Chuan smirked mischievously. “I heard his only daughter, an Omega named Shen Hong has gone missing. He’s been searching for almost a month, using every connection he has, and hasn’t found a single trace.”
“In the end, he had no choice but to come to you.”
Qin Chuan took a sip of his drink. “After all, when it comes to influence in the unregulated zones and the black market, no one surpasses you.”
“He really wants to use me to find his daughter.”
Ji Tianheng recalled Shen Hong’s humble attitude at the time and found it amusing. “He said he’s willing to give me the joint development rights for next year’s intercity rail transit project.”
“Tsk, tsk, what a grand gesture.”
Qin Chuan marveled, “It seems Shen Hong is truly desperate. Did you agree?”
“Not yet.”
Ji Tianheng said, “His daughter’s disappearance isn’t simple. Besides, what I want is far more than just one project.”
Just then, the host excitedly announced the name of the next contestant.
“Let’s welcome from District R, Shi! An! Zhi!”
Ji Tianheng and Qin Chuan both looked down at the same time.
Her gaze landed precisely on the Alpha emerging from the contestant tunnel. Shi Anzhi stood tall and straight but was not burly. When Qin Chuan got a clear look at that handsome face, he laughed in disbelief.
“What’s this? Can she even fight that brawny Alpha over there? This is going to be boring.”
Ji Tianheng didn’t speak but narrowed her eyes slightly.
She noticed that Shi Anzhi’s face showed no expression, her eyes as calm as a deep pool of water, starkly contrasting with the frenzied atmosphere around her.
In this environment saturated with intense pheromones, Shi Anzhi was as clean as a vacuum, with no aggressive pheromones leaking out not even a trace of scent could be detected.
This piqued Ji Tianheng’s curiosity.
She was reminded of her late wife, a memory she hadn’t revisited in a long time.
That had been an exceptionally unique Omega, whose pheromones carried the crisp, vast scent of seawater so faint that only a rare few with extraordinary mental abilities could perceive it.
Ji Tianheng had once believed it to be the only scent of its kind in the world.
This pheromone-less Alpha before her inexplicably evoked a similar sensation, as if enveloped by water.
The bell signaling the start of the match rang.
Shi Anzhi’s opponent was a brawny Alpha half a head taller than her.
The brawny Alpha was covered in bulging muscles, his pheromones raging like wildfire, drawing cheers as soon as he stepped into the arena.
Clearly, he looked down on Shi Anzhi, who appeared utterly unthreatening and disabled. The moment the bell rang, he roared and charged forward.
Shi Anzhi calmly sidestepped, her body taut like a fully drawn bow.
She avoided direct confrontation, using her superior speed and skill to continuously evade, dodge, and search for openings.
Fists whistled past her cheeks, leaving stinging pain in their wake. She took several heavy blows, blood soon trickling from the corner of her mouth, and her chest ached as if it were about to split open.
The audience erupted in mocking laughter and jeers.
Many shouted, “Get off the stage! Get lost!”
“Is she here to get herself killed?”
Amid the surrounding chaos, Shi Anzhi’s mind remained perfectly clear.
She thought of Nian Xue, of those dependent eyes that had looked at her. She couldn’t lose.
Remembering A Shan’s warning, she struggled to stay calm and evade, waiting for the brawny Alpha to exhaust his strength.
Frustrated by his inability to land a decisive blow, the brawny Alpha grew increasingly agitated.
Seizing a perfect opportunity, Shi Anzhi abruptly dropped low, slipped into his embrace, and with all her strength delivered a fierce elbow strike squarely to his ribs!
A crisp crack echoed through the arena.
Gasps of shock arose from the audience.
The burly man let out a muffled groan of pain, his movements freezing for a moment.
Shi Anzhi didn’t give him any chance to catch his breath, immediately launching her assault this was her only opportunity.
She unleashed every life-saving combat technique she had learned from A Shan, holding nothing back.
Finally, after a clean and decisive chokehold, the referee tried to pull them apart.
The arena fell silent for a moment before erupting into thunderous cheers.
Shi Anzhi released her grip, and the burly man immediately collapsed to the ground like a limp rag.
Gasping for air, she wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, her vision flickering with darkness.
She had won.
Fifty thousand coins were now hers.
In the private box on the top floor, Ji Tianheng set down his wine glass, a flicker of approval in his eyes. He calmly instructed his assistant behind him,
“Find out who that winner is and what she does.”
