The Lost Omega Heiress is Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 20.1
You are the one who broke the vow.
Two days ago.
Special Zone, rooftop holographic golf course.
Ji Tianheng, dressed in white casual wear, swung her golf club with grace. Each stroke sent the ball flying accurately toward the distant virtual green.
Beep.
A soft chime came from the device on her wrist.
She ignored it until she finished the final shot, then walked to the rest area by the course, picking up an ice-cold towel to wipe off her sweat.
“Speak.”
A holographic projection of her assistant materialized in the air behind her.
The assistant’s tone was exceedingly respectful. “Ms. Ji, Shen Tingxue has been located.”
Ji Tianheng raised an eyebrow. “Where was she found?”
“Our team detected her biometric data in Zone R. They followed her to the Zone R power grid facility, where she met up with an Alpha before heading to the border district hospital. We’ve already placed our people inside the hospital.”
The assistant added, “That Alpha is the winner of the Carnival Club boxing match you previously asked me to investigate Shi Anzhi.”
“Oh?”
Ji Tianheng recalled the matter.
Shi Anzhi’s file had been delivered to her office shortly after the match, but she had been too busy at the time, buried under piles of documents, and had forgotten to review it.
“Shi Anzhi.”
It was her again.
Ji Tianheng murmured the name softly. “Continue.”
“Our agents haven’t informed the Shen family yet. We’ve already drawn Shen Tingxue’s blood and are conducting further analysis.”
Ji Tianheng nodded. “Good work on the blood sample. Since Shen Hong is so eager to cooperate, we should let him know where his precious daughter is right away.”
Qin Chuan, who had been resting nearby, noticed the commotion and walked over, catching a few words of the conversation. “Shen Tingxue has been found?”
“Mhm.”
Qin Chuan shared some recent intel with Ji Tianheng. “We didn’t realize it until we looked into it, but Shen Tingxue had already been secretly building her own forces before she disappeared.”
“She has her own team of hackers, and many researchers in Shen Corporation’s core laboratory are loyal to her. The only area she’s lacking in now is combat strength.”
Ji Tianheng had heard some of this before and wasn’t surprised. “She’s much more agreeable than her father.”
Qin Chuan sneered. “Shen Hong thinks that by allying with the Governor’s Office, he can soar to great heights. Does he really think so little of us?”
Ji Tianheng swung her club, and the golf ball shot out like a streak of white light, landing precisely on target.
The assistant tentatively asked, “Then, what should we do now?”
Ji Tianheng pondered for a few seconds. Stirring the waters and then reaping the benefits had always been her modus operandi.
She instructed, “Spread the word among everyone in the Special Zone. Let’s all celebrate the joyous occasion between the Shen family and the Governor’s Office. Such a grand plan, why does the Governor’s Office always try to keep it under wraps?”
The assistant contemplated Ji Tianheng’s meaning. “Understood, Ms. Ji. I’ll see to it.”
The holographic projection vanished.
*
The television screen was abruptly cut off, reverting to the scenic footage from before.
The hall was a spectacle of varied reactions. Unrest had already begun some were shouting angrily for the Governor to step down, others clashed with the special police, but the majority remained numb.
Most people in the border district hospital were from the lower strata of the Special Zone. They had long grown accustomed to this rigidly stratified life, devoid of any will to resist and unable to feel anger.
Once the broadcast ended, they simply returned to what they had been doing.
Political rivals attacking each other is the norm in the Special Zone, and the public long ago realized they can’t intervene in anything. So those getting medicine continued to get their medicine, and those in line stayed in line.
Now, even when a group hurriedly rushed up to Nian Xue, few people gave them a second glance.
Perhaps they thought the daughter of the Shen family couldn’t possibly appear in a border hospital. A patient in a wheelchair glanced at Nian Xue but then looked away.
In this strange situation, Nian Xue looked at Shi Anzhi.
Shi Anzhi met her gaze, and in her extreme shock, there was a moment of hesitation in her eyes.
Of course she hesitated, she knew exactly who she was.
The Shen family was a renowned wealthy clan in the empire, controlling countless real estate and biopharmaceutical assets. Some had joked that in this lifetime, if you ever got sick or needed a place to live, you would inevitably encounter the Shen family’s business.
Shi Anzhi lived far away in the slums, but she knew that the expensive nutritional supplements her father bought were produced by the Shen family.
The gap between them was like that between clouds and mud.
Nian Xue’s expression was cold at this moment, her eyes devoid of life.
She sensed Shi Anzhi’s hesitation, even if it lasted only a second. That one second was enough to tip the scales in her heart.
At this moment, she closed her eyes weakly, and under the influence of extreme emotions, countless images flashed through her mind.
Forget it.
The doctor said respectfully, “Miss Shen, please come with us. President Shen already knows you’re here. We need to take you to St. Ann’s Hospital for further treatment.”
St. Ann’s Hospital was owned by the Shen family and catered exclusively to the nobility of the Special Zone.
Shi Anzhi snapped back to reality and immediately said, “I’ll go with you.”
No matter who Nian Xue was, she cared about Nian Xue’s health. She would never retreat from this relationship before Nian Xue made her stance clear.
The doctor turned her gaze to the Alpha before her. This Alpha looked weak, and though she had a unique aura, her clothes were very plain clearly a poor person from District R.
“I’m sorry, miss,” she said to Shi Anzhi in a businesslike tone. “The upcoming treatment involves the patient’s privacy. You cannot accompany her.”
Hearing this, Shi Anzhi looked at Nian Xue.
Nian Xue seemed lost in thought and showed no reaction.
With a complicated feeling, Shi Anzhi revealed, “I’m her Alpha. I have the right to know about her physical condition.”
The doctor’s mouth fell open in surprise. She quickly flipped through the report in her hand and then observed Nian Xue’s reaction.
Nian Xue showed no acknowledgment of Shi Anzhi’s words. Her face was expressionless, her pupils vacant, and her body stiff.
Reassured, the doctor frowned disdainfully at Shi Anzhi and said, “According to the genetic database, Miss Shen has no registered marking relationships.”
She paused before continuing, “Moreover, we conducted tests before your surgery. Your pheromone levels are almost zero. Physiologically speaking, you cannot provide any comfort to Miss Shen.”
It felt as if a sharp knife had pierced the most vulnerable part of Shi Anzhi. She blinked.
She knew what this meant.
The doctor was calling her disabled.
Everyone knew her pheromones were faint that she was disabled.
In an instant, it was as if she had returned to the orphanage of her childhood.
There were never many visitors at the orphanage, and the director would always recommend Shi Anzhi first to every guest who came. Yet, the prospective adopters would often frown and say, “Her gland is damaged. Taking her in.”
“Hmm, I’m really sorry about this.”
Those with worse attitudes would curse at the director, “What’s the use of raising a disabled child? Is this how your orphanage scams adoptive parents?”
“Ugh! You expect me to raise a disabled child? Are you looking down on me?”
She had long experienced these brutal realities.
In District R, her strength was enough for her and Nian Xue to survive. She could offer her pheromones during Nian Xue’s estrus cycle. But here, she was worthless.
As her heart ached sharply, she looked at Nian Xue, who had once told her she wasn’t disabled.
Nian Xue had clearly said so.
She hoped Nian Xue would say something.
At that moment, countless fragmented memories flashed through Nian Xue’s mind. Even though those memories hadn’t fully connected yet, she had already made her choice.
Without giving Shi Anzhi another glance, Nian Xue took the initiative to tell the doctor, “I’ll go with you.”
As she stepped forward, Shi Anzhi slowly reached out, stunned, wanting to grasp Nian Xue’s hand and ask what was wrong.
But she only brushed past Nian Xue’s sleeve. The special police immediately restrained her hands, pressing against her wounds.
Enduring the pain, she watched Nian Xue walk away without looking back and stopped resisting the special police.
Tears slowly streamed down her face. Had Nian Xue abandoned her?
Abandoned again.
The special police officer restraining her noticed blood seeping through her clothes and released her, momentarily feeling a pang of sympathy.
Nian Xue followed the doctor to the rooftop parking lot, where the Shen family was already waiting respectfully.
Before boarding the aircraft, Nian Xue turned back and asked the doctor, “What’s your name?”
The doctor, somewhat nervous, replied, “Miss Shen, my surname is Tan.”
“Alright, Dr. Tan.”
“I demand that you take good care of the Alpha you just saw. Use the best medicine, ensure her body fully recovers, and report every piece of data to me.”
Dr. Tan was taken aback. She had initially thought that Alpha was merely trying to cling to the Shen family’s prestige and pester Shen Tingxue.
Miss Shen is too kind-hearted.
Dr. Tan: “But…”
The wind was strong on the rooftop and Nian Xue grew impatient. Her hair fluttered in the wind as she interrupted, “Do you understand? All expenses will be covered by the Shen family. If you do well, I’ll transfer you to St. Anne’s Hospital.”
“Yes,” Dr. Tan immediately responded. “Miss Shen, I will definitely take good care of her.”
By the time they arrived at St. Anne’s Hospital, a group of people was already waiting for her. Among them, a woman rushed forward, her expression filled with excitement. “Tingxue, you’ve finally returned.”
“Are you feeling unwell anywhere?”
In her current memories, Nian Xue couldn’t recall who this person was. She glanced around, feeling her body grow heavy.
After a long pause, she said to them, “I’ve lost many memories. Help me recover them first.”
After a brief physical examination, the group discussed a treatment plan.
Soon, Nian Xue lay inside a multifunctional medical pod.
Countless nano-probes with faint electric currents began repairing her damaged brain neurons. The transparent cover of the medical pod displayed all her vital signs in real-time.
Sealed memories were awakened, flooding back like a tidal wave.
She remembered everything.
She had never been Nian Xue.
She was Shen Tingxue, and her personality was entirely different from Nian Xue’s.
Shen Hong was a conservative man, a firm believer in Alpha supremacy, viewing her and her mother both Omegas as nothing more than tools.
Her mother, Yan Ni, was originally gentle-natured, but under Shen Hong’s unpredictable temperament, she underwent a drastic change, redirecting all her hatred toward her daughter.
At times, her mother would weep to her, saying she had only her daughter to rely on, and at other times, she would act coldly, forcing her to learn things to please Alphas.
Surviving in such a family was excruciating every second. She had sworn to herself that one day, she would replace her father and become the new helm of the Shen family.
Her disappearance was the result of a hunt by multiple forces.
The Li family, a competitor of the Shen family, also coveted the “Super Alpha Project” and bribed one of her bodyguards. They tampered with her sports car, sent assassins after her when she was injured, and injected her with toxins.
She survived only because she had secretly modified the sports car’s defense system and relied on her strong will to live.
After drifting to Zone R, she regressed to a childlike state due to her severe injuries. At that time, she was delirious.
She remembered how despicable she had been, begging Shi Anzhi for pheromones, and how she had even tried to use those disgusting techniques to please this Alpha in that state.
That version of herself made her sick.
