The Little Jealous Cat Who Transmigrated into a Delicate Beauty - Chapter 13
Elvis had a superb memory. Following the steps from earlier, she actually managed to recreate a cat-style makeup look that was about thirty percent similar to her owner’s.
With inverted triangle eyes, a rounded nose, and “milky-cool” pure desire lips, it was meant to be a look that could charm anyone invisibly. Yet, right before stepping out, she took an eyebrow pencil and added a few whiskers to both sides of her mouth.
Instantly, she became both hilarious and adorable.
She followed the scent all the way to the bus station. The Route 79 bus hadn’t arrived yet, and everyone was waiting in line; she followed suit, mimicking their behavior perfectly.
Susu had noticed this fellow a long time ago, but she had been observing her secretly without picking her out from the crowd.
When the bus arrived, everyone boarded in an orderly fashion.
“Scan your codes and move inside!”
People took out their QR codes to scan for the fare.
Beep~
Beep~
Beep—Senior Card!
Ye Qingqing tilted her head, observing with curiosity as the driver repeated the cycle.
“Scan your codes and move inside!”
Everyone scanned their cards in an orderly way and took their seats.
She was the last passenger in line. Standing at the door, she looked around, not daring to enter, until the driver urged her.
“Hurry up and get on, I’m closing the doors!”
Ye Qingqing lunged upward like a cat pouncing, intending to scurry inside, but she was stopped by the driver.
“Hey, little girl, scan your code to get on!”
She looked around helplessly. The driver’s eyes were fixed on her, and every passenger’s gaze was unanimous, waiting for her to scan her code.
In a moment of desperation, Ye Qingqing extended her paw, pressed it quickly against the scanner, and mimicked the pronunciation she had heard from the card reader, awkwardly uttering four words:
“Beep. Sen. ior. Card!”
The men and women on the bus burst into instantaneous laughter. Susu, sitting in the back row, lowered her head, feeling that this cat had utterly humiliated her.
Facing such mocking laughter, Ye Qingqing felt both angry and bewildered. Her cat-like pupils rounded, and her hastily drawn fake whiskers one long and one short quivered. She looked exactly like a little kitten about to blow its top.
The next second, she actually placed both hands beside her fake whiskers and let out a “Meow!” at the passengers, her expression “fierce” in a milky, adorable way.
The bus driver: “…”
Susu: “…”
Ultimately, Susu couldn’t bear it. She stepped forward and grabbed the cat.
As Ye Qingqing was led by the hand, her wrists trembled slightly from extreme tension, and her ears felt hot enough to fall off.
Susu pulled her to a seat in the back and took out a tissue to wipe off the fake whiskers on her face.
Ye Qingqing was wearing a dark-style, slim-fit camisole dress. Her thin little frame shuddered; being so close to her owner made her heart thud violently against her ribs.
Suddenly, Susu felt a pang of regret. If she had exposed her earlier, this “calico cat” wouldn’t have ended up in such a wretched state.
Susu took off her own blazer and draped it over her, stroking the little head reassuringly.
Because of the extreme stress, Ye Qingqing’s jet-black hair began to fall out in handfuls the moment Susu’s fingertips touched her.
Susu truly felt distressed now, pulling her body into her embrace.
“Meow~”
Ye Qingqing rubbed her head against Susu’s chest, wrapping both hands around her slender waist and burying her face deep into her arms.
Susu looked down and placed a finger to her lips in a soft gesture.
“Shh, don’t cry out.”
She then lay obediently against her, not daring to move an inch.
When the bus reached the stop, Susu held her hand and walked all the way to the shopping mall.
Ye Qingqing was very uncomfortable in the unfamiliar environment, but for some reason, being held by this tiny human made her heart feel inexplicably steady.
Currently, the human world was facing an infectious disease called COVID-19. For pandemic prevention, one had to wear a mask and present a Health Code and Travel Code to enter malls. Ye Qingqing had nothing.
Susu took a spare mask from her bag, put it on her, and led her inside by the hand, prepared to try her luck.
She opened her own Health Code for the older security guard to see, her voice soft and sweet.
“Uncle, we’ve been together this whole time. She forgot her phone!”
The man glanced at the two girls who were joined at the hip and didn’t make things difficult for them at all.
The two took the escalator to the fourth floor. After finding the restaurant, Susu was about to send a message to ask where the table was when Ye Qingqing’s cat-nose suddenly caught the scent of a kin. Looking back, she saw a girl in a baseball cap following them suspiciously.
She “teleported” over in a flash and grabbed the girl’s arm.
“Meow!”
The girl looked up, her handsome little face suddenly becoming excited.
“Meow meow!” (You’re a little cat too?)
But she didn’t know that the one standing before her was the King of the Tabby Tribe, the leader followed by eight generations of her ancestors.
Ye Qingqing’s pupils dilated. Just as she was about to snap, her wrist was pulled away.
“Let’s go!”
She looked back, giving the girl in the baseball cap a threatening glare.
Don’t you dare hurt her, or this King will leave you with no place to be buried!
They entered the shop, reported their table number, and were led by a waiter to find their seats.
The girl in the baseball cap followed them inside, sniffing the air as she circled halfway. Suddenly, her eyes landed on a corner seat by the window, and she hurried toward that direction.
At the same time, the waiter was also leading the two of them toward that spot.
Across from them, a woman in a sexy knit sweater waved at Susu.
“Hi, little darling, over here!”
The girl’s peach-blossom eyes curved into crescents as she replied politely with a smile.
“Sorry, Sister Xiaoju, something delayed us on the way. I kept you waiting!”
She did not let go of Ye Qingqing’s hand.
“Sister Xiaoju, this is my cousin. She came here to visit me. I was afraid she’d be bored at home alone, so I brought her along. You don’t mind, do you?”
Qian Xiaoju paused for a moment, her gaze lingering on Ye Qingqing for a second, but when she spoke, she maintained her boisterous personality.
“Of course not! It’s a privilege to dine with such a beautiful girl!”
Susu pulled Ye Qingqing down to sit opposite her. While helping her with the blazer, she spoke politely to Qian Xiaoju.
“Sister Xiaoju, this meal is on me!”
“Oh, look at you, treating me like an outsider! Your cousin finally came to visit; of course it’s my treat!”
Just then, the girl in the baseball cap walked over timidly, holding a set of tableware.
“Excuse me, the shop is full. I’m… I’m alone. Can I share the table with you?”
Two humans and one cat looked up simultaneously at the girl.
Ye Qingqing bared her teeth at the newcomer.
Susu secretly squeezed her finger.
“Don’t be rude!”
Qian Xiaoju looked at the girl in the hat with some confusion: Why does this girl look a bit familiar?
Being a straightforward person, she asked directly.
“Beautiful, have we met somewhere before?”
The girl in the baseball cap waved her hands frantically.
“No, no! I just returned to the country. It’s my first time living in this city. I heard the health hotpot here is delicious and happened to grab a voucher, so I came over.”
Qian Xiaoju was easygoing, so she didn’t dwell on it.
“This place is good. During the promotion, seats might be tight. Since you’re a young girl on your own with no seat, just sit and eat with us. The more, the merrier!”
She glanced at Susu.
Susu nodded quickly.
Just as the girl in the cap was about to sit down, Ye Qingqing suddenly straightened her back and let out a “Meow-ow!” at her, a threatening growl vibrating in her throat.
Qian Xiaoju: “?”
