- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 82 - My New Partner
Yue Wenqiu and Jiang Luoxing turned their gazes toward Jiang Luoyue, waiting for her answer. Though, in truth, they already had a lingering suspicion.
Under their piercing stares, Jiang Luoyue’s eyes darted away guiltily, unable to meet their gaze. “Uh… this is my new partner. His name is Yun Jian.”
“Mhm. Greetings, Brother Yun Jian,” Yue Wenqiu said, performing a formal bow with impeccable etiquette. However, his tone remained expectant, waiting for the rest of her explanation.
“He’s… the Demon Sovereign,” Jiang Luoyue blurted out, gritting her teeth.
Jiang Luoxing instantly flared up. “Sister! How could you! We barely managed to escape that secret realm, and while we were working ourselves to the bone searching for you and Senior Brother Li, you went and hooked up with another partner!”
Ah… is that the part to focus on? Jiang Luoyue thought. The point is that he’s the Demon Sovereign!
She peeked cautiously at Yue Wenqiu’s face. She expected a righteous disciple like him to scold her for consorting with the Demon race.
“Luoyue, how did you end up in the Nether Abyss?” Yue Wenqiu asked, his voice calm and level.
His lack of anger made her feel even more guilty. She looked down, twiddling her fingers and stealing glances at him. “I don’t really know… I just suddenly entered an illusion. After I broke out, I found Senior Brother Li, then I fainted. When I woke up, I was in the Nether Abyss.”
“Oh, by the way, Senior Brother Li is also my partner now.” She almost forgot to introduce Li Changting’s new status.
Jiang Luoxing and Yue Wenqiu were surprised, but they found this much easier to accept. After all, everyone had seen Li Changting’s feelings for her. Yue Wenqiu had even wondered why she kept such a talented Alchemist by her side without officially “claiming” him.
Jiang Luoxing was on good terms with Li Changting; they often looked after the little Black Tortoise, Fu Xia, together. Though Li Changting was a bit blunt and simple, he had always taken good care of Luoxing like a younger brother.
“Why is it that you can accept him as her partner, but you give me nothing but cold glares?” Yun Jian frowned, feeling slighted. He was the Demon Sovereign! If it weren’t for him, this group would have been battered and bruised long ago.
“Alright, stop bickering. Let’s interrogate these three,” Jiang Luoyue said, taking Yun Jian’s arm and squeezing his palm to soothe him.
The three captives stood by, dazed as they watched the domestic drama unfold.
Initially, the masked leader had been stunned by Jiang Luoyue’s beauty. He had planned to use her as a Furnace, knowing that the “first time” with such a woman yielded the greatest boost to cultivation. Seeing she had so many partners, he knew that ship had sailed, but he still viewed her as high-quality “merchandise.”
Sensing the masked man’s greedy, lecherous gaze, the men in the group felt a surge of collective rage. Before the interrogation even began, they subjected him to a brutal round of “softening up.” The “Moon” in their hearts was not to be stared at by such filth.
The masked man’s screams echoed through the area, but he kept his teeth clenched, refusing to utter a word.
“Quite the stubborn one,” Jiang Luoyue chuckled. She rotated the storage ring on her finger—a special one capable of holding living beings—and sucked the masked man inside.
Yun Jian looked at the ring on her finger with surprise. “The immortal sects actually have such fine treasures.”
“Alright, next up: the two ‘brothers,’ Heijin and Heilin.” Jiang Luoxing leaned over the two trapped subordinates with a smile. To them, however, that smile looked absolutely terrifying. Having just witnessed the masked man’s torture, they were shaking with fear.
“Where is your City Lord?” Yue Wenqiu asked.
Before Jiang Luoyue could even lift a finger, Heijin collapsed to the ground, wailing, “I’ll talk! I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything!”
According to them, the North City Lord, Li Qing, had been captured and imprisoned by the masked man. They didn’t know the masked man’s name or what he looked like under the mask. He had simply told them that he intended to wipe out the immortal sects and the Demon King’s race. He promised that if the demons followed him, they would have a seat at the table once the world was conquered.
Initially, Li Qing had been tempted. But when he saw that the masked man’s method of increasing power involved kidnapping fellow cultivators—and even refining dissenting demons into pills—he recoiled. However, because Li Qing was a City Lord and still had political utility, the masked man had spared him for later use.
“That masked man is definitely not of the Demon race. I can sense that his aura is fundamentally different from mine,” Yun Jian noted.
Jiang Luoyue was reminded of what Luan Yao had said about the events of ten thousand years ago. “Could it be… another invasion from another plane?”
Luan Yao’s voice rang in her mind: “It seems so. I can feel it—his aura is identical to those who attacked us ten thousand years ago.”
“Have they spent ten thousand years recovering, only to try and occupy our world again? And they’re using our own people as stepping stones?” Luan Yao was fuming, wishing she could manifest and strike them down, but as a mere remnant of divine sense, she was powerless.
“Who is he then? Why attack the immortal and demon sects?” Jiang Luoxing asked, confused.
“I think I might know,” Jiang Luoyue said, her brow furrowing. “It’s likely people from another cultivation plane coming to steal our resources. But first, they intend to slaughter everyone in this world.”
“Why would you guess that?” Yun Jian asked. He hadn’t expected such an answer. However, given the unfamiliar aura, her theory was the most plausible.
Jiang Luoyue didn’t know how to explain her lack of “ancient memories.” She simply said, “In any case, it’s highly likely. You can trust me on this.”
“Then the masked man isn’t the mastermind. He’s just a scout,” Yue Wenqiu concluded.
“How are we going to report this?” Jiang Luoxing asked. A war between demons and immortals was one thing, but an inter-planar invasion was an entirely different scale of crisis.
Yue Wenqiu smiled. “Simple. We’ll just say we pried it out of the masked man’s mouth.”
He took out his communication jade to contact his father, Yue Chongshan. He reported the situation, suggesting that the missing cultivators were likely imprisoned in the four City Lords’ estates and recommending that they split their forces to search them.
Yue Chongshan remained silent for a long time, likely struggling to process such a world-shaking truth.
“Father, trust me,” Yue Wenqiu urged.
Yue Chongshan finally responded, “Very well. But you must all stay safe.”
As the connection cut, Jiang Luoyue looked around. “By the way, where are Lin Xi and Fu Xia?” She had noticed their absence but hadn’t had a chance to ask until now.
“They went to the North City Lord’s estate,” Yue Wenqiu replied. “We originally thought the City Lords were the masterminds, so they went there to find the imprisoned cultivators.”
