The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive - Chapter 83
“From what we can see, both the North and South Cities are likely under control. I’m just not sure about the East and West,” Jiang Luoyue said thoughtfully.
She gripped her communication jade and sent a message to Lin Xi: Where are you and Fu Xia? Is it dangerous?
Lin Xi replied almost instantly: At the North City Lord’s estate. It shouldn’t be dangerous; we’re looking for the captured cultivators. We haven’t been discovered yet.
Reading the last few words, Jiang Luoyue couldn’t help but feel a bit amused for some reason.
“That’s good. We’re coming to find you now,” she said, tucking the jade away.
“There are too many of us; we’re a large target,” Yun Jian noted. “My cultivation is the highest. Who is willing to come with me? I’ll take care of the East and West Cities.”
“I will,” Li Changting volunteered, seeing that the others were hesitant.
From a tactical standpoint, pairing the Alchemist with the strongest combatant while the other three stayed together was a logical split.
“Good. Keep in touch at all times,” Yue Wenqiu said, handing a separate communication jade to Yun Jian. Even though Li Changting was with him, they had to account for the possibility of being separated.
Jiang Luoyue led Yue Wenqiu and Jiang Luoxing toward the North City Lord’s estate to regroup with Lin Xi and Fu Xia.
The estate was massive, and they searched for a long time without seeing a sign of Lin Xi.
“There isn’t a single soul in this place. If there were, we could at least grab someone for questioning,” Jiang Luoxing grumbled.
Jiang Luoyue took out her jade again. “Lin Xi, where are you?”
“Wait there, coming now,” Lin Xi replied before the jade went dark.
A moment later, Lin Xi appeared before them, carrying Fu Xia. “There’s an array here. Once you enter, there’s another City Lord’s estate inside, just as large as this one.”
“Sister, I missed you so much!” Fu Xia, still having the temperament of a child, felt her eyes redden the moment she saw her master. Though Lin Xi had taken good care of her, she simply missed Jiang Luoyue more.
Jiang Luoyue kissed the girl’s forehead and stroked her hair gently. “I’m sorry for making you worry.”
They didn’t waste time on small talk and followed Lin Xi to the entrance of the array.
“Are there no sentries in this estate?” Jiang Luoyue felt that the silence was eerie. A place this large shouldn’t be so easily traversed.
“I might have killed quite a few already,” Lin Xi said nonchalantly. “By the way, where is that strong masked man?”
Jiang Luoyue recounted the recent events. Lin Xi’s eyes widened in shock. “What?! Such a thing is happening?”
“Should we keep looking for the cultivators then?” Jiang Luoxing asked, fearing a trap.
“At this point, even if it’s a dragon’s pool or a tiger’s den, we have to charge in,” Jiang Luoyue said, practically ready to roll up her sleeves.
The estate inside the array was permeated with an aura of death, looking somewhat ethereal. At least the version outside looked “alive.”
“What are you doing here?” A man in black appeared. Noticing the demonic energy on Yun Jian and the immortal cultivators beside him, he nodded knowingly.
“Oh, new captives, I see. These are of quite high quality.” A greedy light flickered in the man’s eyes. “This man is handsome, and the woman is beautiful. It just so happens there’s a Lord above who likes pretty young men like this.”
Usually, the men would shield Jiang Luoyue from lecherous stares. Now that they were the ones being propositioned, they felt a wave of profound disgust.
Yun Jian nodded along smoothly. “Indeed. It took me a lot of effort to secure these specimens.”
The man in black looked impressed. “I don’t recognize your face. I thought Li Qing only had Heijin and Heilin as capable hands. You seem much more competent than them.”
Yun Jian smiled thinly. “Is that so?”
The man’s gaze was still fixed greedily on Jiang Luoyue and the others. Just as he opened his mouth to say “Good,” his head was parted from his shoulders. Yun Jian used demonic fire to incinerate the remains, and the body vanished in seconds.
They stood before a long row of rooms. “We’ll check them one by one,” Jiang Luoyue decided. They remained cautious; where there were prisoners, there were bound to be guards.
They opened the first room. Inside were several strikingly handsome men. Yue Wenqiu and the others immediately recalled the guard’s words—were these the men intended for that “Lord”?
The male cultivators looked haggard. Some had disheveled clothes and wore ill-fitting outer robes, suggesting they had already been “enjoyed.”
Yun Jian’s aura was overwhelming. Even with the others there, the prisoners’ first instinct was to look at him and tremble in fear.
“Don’t be afraid. We are here to rescue you,” Jiang Luoyue stepped forward, a gentle smile on her face. She reached into her storage pouch and pulled out several bottles of pills. “These were refined by my partner. He is a Nascent Soul stage Alchemist.”
Her clear, beautiful face and gentle tone made her look like a goddess descending from the heavens to these men. They were nearly moved to tears, almost dropping to their knees to kowtow in gratitude.
“It’s alright, it’s alright,” she comforted them.
“Tsk, why do they all look so pathetic?” Jiang Luoxing muttered, feeling a bit jealous as he watched the useless cultivators gaze at his sister.
The peaceful moment was short-lived. Several men in black appeared behind them. “Who are you?”
The prisoners shrieked in terror and huddled together, clutching the pill bottles.
“Leave it to us,” Jiang Luoyue said, giving them a reassuring look before drawing her sword. “Heijin, Heilin, and that ugly masked man are already dead. You’re next.” She smiled, but her voice was laced with murderous intent.
The male prisoners: Wow, she’s so cool! She’s glowing! Is she a goddess?!
The guards fired a signal flare, and black-clad men swarmed from all directions. Jiang Luoyue, Lin Xi, Yue Wenqiu, and Jiang Luoxing engaged them in a fierce melee.
“Fu Xia, go release the other cultivators!” Jiang Luoyue shouted over her shoulder.
Fu Xia possessed the strongest shell in this world. Even if someone tried to hurt her, she could just hide inside, and no one could touch her. The little girl nodded, her chubby cheeks wobbling, and began running to open all the doors.
“These people are so stupid. Aren’t they afraid of us wiping them all out at once?” Jiang Luoxing grunted, fighting hard while still talking trash.
Inside the rooms, the captives initially shrank back in fear as the doors swung open, wondering who would be the next to be refined into a pill. But when they saw the one opening the door was a chubby, round-faced little girl, they all froze in confusion.
