- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 80 - Possessiveness
Jiang Luoyue was carried back by Yun Jian. The Sovereign, finding female attire far too complicated to fix, had simply wrapped her in his outer robe and carried her back to her room in a “princess carry.”
Li Changting, who had been waiting anxiously at her door, froze when he saw his Junior Sister being brought back by the Demon Sovereign. She was fast asleep in his arms, bundled up tightly, with only one fair, slender arm draped over Yun Jian’s shoulder.
“You… you took advantage of my Junior Sister!” Li Changting gasped, grabbing the Sovereign’s arm to block him from entering the room. He looked every bit like a man demanding a formal explanation.
“I never force anyone to do what they are unwilling to do,” Yun Jian said, casting him a cold glance. The implication was clear: Jiang Luoyue had been a willing participant.
Li Changting’s eyes widened. “How is that possible? You are the Demon Sovereign, and we are disciples of the immortal sects!”
“I have never raised a hand against the immortal sects. Why harbor such hostility?” Yun Jian sighed helplessly. “Looking at how simple-minded you are, I’m amazed she took a liking to you.” He gave Li Changting a once-over, his disdain practically tangible. “Surely her other partners aren’t all like you?”
Li Changting was baffled by the sudden hostility—the man had just praised his assistance with artifact refining a few days ago! Realizing he was being looked down upon, Li Changting’s pride flared. “What of it? I know I’m not the best, but Luoyue’s other partners are all incredible. There’s the Demon King, and the famous Young Master Wenqiu of the cultivation world!”
“Let me put Luoyue down to rest first,” Yun Jian muttered, glancing at the woman in his arms. He definitely wasn’t doing it because his arms were getting tired!
He tucked her into bed, but as Li Changting tried to lean in to check on her, Yun Jian pushed him back. “Let’s talk outside,” Yun Jian commanded.
Possessiveness is a trait every man possesses. Having just shared an intimate moment with her, Yun Jian had no desire to let anyone else see her in this vulnerable, kitten-like state.
Once outside, Yun Jian frowned. “The Demon King? You mean Lin Meng?”
“His name is Lin Xi,” Li Changting replied, confused. “Who are you talking about?”
Yun Jian paused, realizing that Lin Xi was likely Lin Meng’s son or grandson. “Ah, Lin Xi just became the King recently. His father passed away,” Li Changting explained. He could see that the Sovereign had been in the Nether Abyss for so long that he suffered from a massive information gap regarding the outside world.
“And Yue Wenqiu is currently the most famous young talent in the cultivation world,” Li Changting added, placing a pointed emphasis on the words “young talent.”
Yun Jian didn’t catch it at first, but it soon dawned on him: Li Changting was mocking his age.
“You—!” Yun Jian was about to snap back when a soft mumble came from inside the room.
“So noisy…” Jiang Luoyue rolled over, clutching her blanket and covering her ears with one hand.
Yun Jian and Li Changting went silent instantly. They carefully retreated from the doorway and shut the door.
“Since we are both Luoyue’s partners now, we should try to get along,” Li Changting suggested. Yun Jian shot him a look but didn’t voice a disagreement.
“Lord Sovereign, we came to the Demon Abyss for a very important reason,” Li Changting said, finally clarifying their intent.
“I know. Luoyue told me,” Yun Jian replied. He frowned. “I can only guarantee that I have no knowledge of this affair. However, I will go with you to investigate.”
“Really? That’s wonderful!” Li Changting smiled brightly. “Otherwise, I’d be worried about how to survive under your thumb.”
Yun Jian rolled his eyes. “I am still the Demon Sovereign. You’d do best to stay on your best behavior in my presence.” With that, the Sovereign strode away, leaving Li Changting to return to his own room.
The next morning, Jiang Luoyue woke up to find a puppet standing by her bed, which gave her a fright. It urged her to go find Yun Jian immediately. Thinking she was in for another day of ink-grinding, she followed.
To her surprise, Yun Jian was standing before a massive pile of magical artifacts. “Help me pack these away. We are leaving the Nether Abyss today.”
“Huh?” Jiang Luoyue was stunned. Was he kicking her out after just one night? But seeing the mountain of gifts, she figured she wasn’t coming out on the losing end.
Yun Jian couldn’t tell why she was alternating between frowning and smiling. “Aren’t you here to find the missing cultivators? I’m coming with you.”
Her eyes lit up. “Really?” Then, a hint of suspicion crept in. “Are you going to… turn on your own kind for us?”
Yun Jian couldn’t help but chuckle. “Based on what you told me, they wouldn’t kidnap people for pills without a reason. Who is the master behind them? This likely goes deeper than just starting a war between the two realms.”
“Oh! Well, if you’re willing to help us, that’s for the best!” She gave him a beaming smile.
Yun Jian packed away every artifact he thought might be useful and handed two storage pouches to her. “Give the other to your Senior Brother. No matter which partner is with you, you’ll have artifacts to use.”
Jiang Luoyue was surprised by his generosity. “Don’t you find me… fickle? Don’t you want to lock me by your side?”
“Of course I do. I truly want to keep you here; almost no one can reach this place,” Yun Jian said with a wickedly charming smile.
He thought of the men she had described. Yue Wenqiu and Li Changting sounded like upright, “proper” beauties—the type who would be honest officials in the mortal world. Lin Xi was a fox spirit—dangerously handsome and alluring. Gu Wangfeng was a cold, detached lotus that looked untouchable.
“What are you thinking? Do you think I’m wicked? Do you want to take back being my partner?” Yun Jian asked, seeing her dazed expression and fearing he had frightened her.
“If there ever comes a day you want to lock me up, I won’t resist,” she said, standing before him with a soft, compliant smile.
Yun Jian was momentarily dazed by her expression before he let out a light laugh. “Good. Once I help you find the truth, you will come back to the Nether Abyss and stay with me forever.”
Jiang Luoyue didn’t respond immediately, just watched him quietly. Yun Jian laughed. “Women truly are good at lying.”
She blinked, showing neither guilt nor sadness. “If only I could use spiritual power here…”
“This is the Nether Abyss. You want to use spiritual power?” He found the idea amusing.
“I have a treasure called the Floating Wave House. It lets me come and go as I please, but it requires spiritual qi.”
