- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 79 - Can We Kiss Now?
Yun Jian thought back to the cat he once raised; it used to love “kneading” (kneading dough/treading) on him. At first, he hadn’t understood what the cat was doing, but later he realized it was a cat’s way of expressing affection for its owner.
Jiang Luoyue was massaging him seriously when Yun Jian suddenly grabbed her hand.
She froze. Yun Jian spoke tonelessly, “Use more strength. Do you call this scrubbing?”
Jiang Luoyue hadn’t expected that to be his issue. She had no choice but to push harder. Noting that she was kneeling on the hard floor, Yun Jian flicked his wrist to conjure a soft cushion beneath her knees to make her more comfortable.
Jiang Luoyue poured nearly all her strength into the task, cursing him silently as she worked. You dog, you’re lucky I’m scrubbing you at all, yet you’re still being picky. Why didn’t you just call one of your many puppets?
For several days, Jiang Luoyue acted as his personal bathmaid.
“What? He called you there just for that?” Li Changting couldn’t believe it. He took Jiang Luoyue’s hands, turning them over and over to inspect them. “Is my Junior Sister’s hand meant for such labor?”
“Well, if he didn’t have me scrubbing his back, he might have had me doing… other things,” Jiang Luoyue said meaningfully.
Li Changting’s expression immediately soured, as if he had swallowed a fly. “Then I’d rather go and scrub him myself! I’m a healer; I’m an expert in acupoints and medical theory. I’d surely be more effective than you.”
“What a great idea,” Jiang Luoyue gave him a thumbs-up.
“Then I’m going in your place tonight,” Li Changting decided.
Jiang Luoyue couldn’t help but laugh. Senior Brother Li was truly adorably earnest.
When night fell, Li Changting actually tried to follow the puppet. However, the puppet blocked his path. When he insisted on moving forward, a second puppet appeared, firmly gripping his wrists so he couldn’t budge.
The first puppet then made a “please” gesture toward Jiang Luoyue.
Jiang Luoyue turned and smiled at Li Changting. “Senior Brother Li, I’ll go. Why don’t you prepare some ointment for my wrists? My hands are always exhausted when I get back at night.”
Li Changting could only nod, finally ceasing his attempt to follow.
Jiang Luoyue took her usual spot behind Yun Jian and began scrubbing. “Is the pressure alright today?” she asked with a smile.
Yun Jian didn’t respond, but seeing his relaxed brow, it was clear he liked the intensity. Jiang Luoyue pouted slightly, thinking this man was truly difficult to please. She continued her diligent work as a hardworking bath attendant.
In the next instant, Yun Jian grabbed her wrist and pulled. Jiang Luoyue was yanked straight into the bath. Fortunately, Yun Jian reached out with his other hand to support her waist, steadying her body.
Jiang Luoyue was forced to press her hands against his chest to keep from falling backward or pressing too close to him. The water quickly soaked through her robes, the fabric clinging to her skin and outlining her graceful curves.
“What is it?” Jiang Luoyue looked up in confusion, her gaze innocent. She rested her hands on his shoulders, her fingers idly twirling a strand of his wet hair.
Yun Jian couldn’t help but swallow hard. He stared at her blankly, looking as if he had been hexed. Noticing his reaction, Jiang Luoyue’s lips curled into a smirk.
Seeing her smile—half-bashful, half-teasing—Yun Jian felt a need to prove himself. He pressed his hand against the back of her head, leaning in to kiss her.
But Jiang Luoyue placed a finger against his lips, stopping his advance.
The Demon Sovereign, who had likely never tasted rejection in his life, looked at her in confusion.
“Lord Sovereign, you know I am a cultivator from the immortal sects,” Jiang Luoyue said with a smile. “Didn’t you suspect my origins from the very beginning?”
Yun Jian’s eyes darkened. “Go on. I’m listening,” he countered.
“I originally harbored no ill will toward the Demon race, but lately, too many cultivators have gone missing. I came specifically to investigate,” she explained in a soft, gentle voice. “An escaped cultivator told me the captives are being refined into pills.”
“Tell me, shouldn’t I find the nest of whoever is doing this? I truly didn’t expect to end up here in the Nether Abyss,” Jiang Luoyue sighed.
“Do you suspect me?” Yun Jian asked.
“I did at first, but that’s not important. What matters is—can you, Lord Sovereign, dispel my suspicions?” She threw the question back at him.
“Of course I can,” Yun Jian said. “With my current cultivation, ascending to a higher plane is not difficult. I have no need for such inferior methods to boost my power.”
“Furthermore, I truly had no knowledge of this. I haven’t left the Nether Abyss in years, and no one has visited for just as long,” he continued. “When the order of the Demon Abyss was first established, the four City Lords visited often. Once the order was set, they stopped coming. Unless there is an emergency, I have no desire to see them.”
Hearing this, Jiang Luoyue felt a weight lift from her heart. If the final boss was Yun Jian, things would have been truly difficult.
“It seems I misunderstood then,” she smiled. “But I am very worried about my fellow disciples outside.”
“I have no wish to be enemies with the immortal sects or incite a war. I will send you and Li Changting out tomorrow,” Yun Jian stated.
Jiang Luoyue hadn’t expected the Demon Sovereign to be so reasonable. She was almost moved to tears. “Thank you, Lord Sovereign!” She gave a sincere, radiant smile.
Seeing her look like a kitten that had finally been given a fish, Yun Jian felt an itch in his heart.
“Then… can we kiss now?” Yun Jian asked, his voice noticeably less confident than before.
Jiang Luoyue wrapped her arms around his neck, forcing their bodies closer. She leaned in and pecked his lips. “Of course. But I already have a partner. You still want to kiss me?”
“Hmph. I’ll be the ‘Primary’ (Greatest) husband,” Yun Jian grumbled, a bit displeased. As for Li Changting—an Alchemist whose cultivation was lower than his own—how could he possibly protect her?
“I actually have four other partners,” Jiang Luoyue said candidly.
Yun Jian froze for a moment, then let out a frustrated laugh. “You… doesn’t the immortal path value reputation above all else? You have so many partners, yet no one points fingers?”
He knew she was beautiful—he had eyes, after all—but he hadn’t expected so many men to be willing to revolve around her. Well, he suppose he was also someone who had fallen for her beauty.
“So what? It just proves I’m capable and have ‘husband-taming’ skills.” She started to loosen her grip on his neck.
Before she could pull away completely, Yun Jian pulled her waist tight. “I didn’t give you permission to let go.”
“Then you don’t mind?” she asked innocently, blinking her eyes.
“Let me see these ‘husband-taming’ skills for myself then,” Yun Jian raised an eyebrow, his expression one of anticipation.
Jiang Luoyue leaned in to kiss him while she began to undress herself. Yun Jian didn’t like her having all the control, and he quickly reclaimed the lead. Jiang Luoyue clung to his shoulders as the water in the pool rippled in rhythmic circles, the sound of splashing failing to mask the other noises in the room.
