- The Junior Sister Isn't Flirtatious At All; It's All Their Fault for Being Too Seductive
- Chapter 66 - Meeting the Parents
“We have a lead now. Even if you hadn’t contacted me, I was planning to ask for your help,” Yue Wenqiu said with a smile. “Later, you should meet my parents.”
He gently stroked Jiang Luoyue’s hair. He knew that such moments of tender, lingering peace might be rare in the days to come. Sensing that his own cultivation had improved slightly, the two spent their “rest” time in deep meditation, harmonizing their spiritual energy together.
A while later, Yue Wenqiu led Jiang Luoyue to meet his parents.
Initially, his father and mother had found it difficult to accept that Jiang Luoyue had so many men by her side. However, after Yue Wenqiu’s persistent “persuasion,” they had become quite open-minded.
His arguments had been along the lines of: “Luoyue is so extraordinary; it’s only natural for her to have many pursuers. I’m nothing special, and I’m already lucky enough to have her favor.”
Or: “Even the Demon King and Gu Wangfeng have fallen for her. Father, Mother, you must help your son save face here.”
And most effectively: “Out of all of us, I’m the only one with parents. Perhaps if Luoyue feels the warmth of a family here, she will love me the most.”
His mother looked at Luoyue, then at her own son, and thought… Well, it seems our son really is the one punching above his weight.
“The missing cultivators were likely taken to the Demonic Abyss. The major immortal sects have agreed to launch a rescue mission,” Yue Chongshan said solemnly, his bearing dignified and imposing.
“Miss Jiang, are you willing to go with us?” He looked toward Jiang Luoyue.
“Of course! That’s why I’m here,” Jiang Luoyue smiled. “Don’t worry, Uncle. I will do my absolute best to help.”
“Good. The sects have agreed to depart in three days. Use this time to prepare yourselves,” Yue Chongshan instructed.
Madam Yue smiled and nudged her husband. “Oh, you old man, why are you being so serious? You’re scaring her.” She turned to the couple with a kind expression. “Stay with Wenqiu these next few days. I will handle all the preparations for you. While the situation is grave, do not worry excessively. As the saying goes: Soldiers will block the advance, and earth will cover the flood. There will eventually be a day when the clouds part to reveal the sun.”
Jiang Luoyue nodded, feeling the warmth of their support.
Because Lin Xi was the Demon King, even though he suppressed his aura, his fox ears and tail were dead giveaways. As he walked through the sect, cultivators couldn’t help but stare and whisper.
“Is that a fox demon?” one whispered.
“The fox tribe is famous for their beauty. That man is indeed as pretty as a girl.”
“Our Eldest Senior Brother is still better—upright, dignified, and elegant.”
“They’re both handsome! Senior Sister Jiang is so powerful; she should have a collection of different beauties.”
“That’s just being loose. What decent girl acts like that?” a male disciple grumbled.
A female disciple snapped back, “What? Men are allowed three wives and four concubines, but a woman can’t do the same? Senior Sister Jiang is a powerhouse; a strong person deserves beautiful men!”
“That fox demon must be the favorite!” another giggled.
Lin Xi, having the sharp hearing of a wild animal, heard every word. He walked over to the group. Though he hid his true identity, his powerful aura remained. He released a wave of pressure; the male disciple who had called Luoyue “loose” couldn’t withstand it and collapsed to his knees.
The female disciple who had praised her, however, felt nothing. Lin Xi walked up to her and handed her a ring artifact. “You have excellent taste.”
The girl was stunned. She hadn’t expected a casual compliment to earn her such a gift. “Thank you!” she chirped, her eyes sparkling.
Lin Xi finally saw Yue Wenqiu and Jiang Luoyue approaching. He walked over with a scowl. “You’re finally willing to let her out?”
Lin Xi spoke through gritted teeth, while Yue Wenqiu remained perfectly composed. “I took her to discuss serious matters. Why the face?” Even as he spoke, Wenqiu didn’t let go of Luoyue’s hand.
Jiang Luoyue shot him a look. This guy is so good at being jealous now? He was the one who insisted I accept more powerful men in the first place!
“I know, it’s about the missing cultivators. Why didn’t you bring me? I can contribute the strength of the Demon Tribe,” Lin Xi said, reaching out to grab her other hand.
Jiang Luoxing appeared at that moment and separated them. “It’s a small matter, why are you two making a scene?”
“What are you acting for?” Lin Xi glared at him.
“I was childish before, that’s why I was so possessive,” Luoxing said with a frown. “Having been with Sister for so long, I’ve learned that I should be sharing her burdens, not adding to them.”
Lin Xi’s eyes widened. He couldn’t believe his ears. This brat has reached a terrifying new level of ‘acting,’ he thought.
Jiang Luoyue shook her head helplessly. Though… she had to admit, having all these men vye for her favor felt pretty good.
“Where is Senior Brother Li?” she asked, noticing one person was missing.
“He’s with Fuxia, researching alchemy,” Luoxing replied. “The Xuanwu has a natural affinity for the elements. Fuxia just started learning, and he’s already refining high-quality pills.”
“As expected of a Xuanwu,” Lin Xi nodded. “Losing to a Divine Beast is only natural.”
“We should bring him along while we cultivate these next few days,” Jiang Luoyue said. “With his talent, let’s turn him into an all-around little genius. Let’s go, let’s go—time to train!”
Li Changting was indeed having a “shocking” day. Every time Fuxia produced a pill, his jaw dropped a little lower. It had only been six months since Jiang Luoyue brought this “little turtle” back from the secret realm.
“Your talent is terrifying,” Li Changting marveled.
“Hmph! Naturally!” Fuxia stood tall, paws on his hips, chin tilted up proudly.
“Fuxia~” Jiang Luoyue’s voice called out.
The little turtle immediately scrambled toward the door. “Sister!” In a tender, childlike voice, he chirped as Jiang Luoyue scooped him up.
“We leave for the Demonic Abyss in three days. I’m taking Fuxia to cultivate with me until then,” she announced. This was Luan Yao’s suggestion; Luoyue was a magnet for luck and spiritual providence. Cultivating with her—even without the dual aspect—would vastly accelerate Fuxia’s progress.
“Yay!” Fuxia wiggled happily in her arms.
Li Changting’s face paled slightly. “So soon? Then I must refine as many pills as possible these next two days. Has the Demonic Tribe truly decided to break the peace?”
“We’ll only know once we get there,” Jiang Luoyue sighed. “With so many cultivators missing, we have to go.”
