The Investment Mogul Calls Himself my Husband - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: Termination
“Lele, is this your father?” A little girl walked over and asked.
Xiao Le: “This is my uncle.”
“Your uncle is so good-looking. Can I buy a crepe?” The little girl’s eyes turned toward Su Yi.
Su Yi stood up and said warmly to the little girl: “Uncle will make one for you right away.”
After the little girl and her mother bought a crepe, other parents gradually brought their children over to buy some as well—mostly mothers.
In the car across the street, Zhuang Qingyuan watched the crepe stall at the primary school entrance all morning without eating or drinking.
He was too familiar with that person’s every frown and smile, every action and move. Although the appearance was different, a person’s expressive habits cannot be changed.
Two completely different people, yet even the frequency of their blinks and the curve of their lips when speaking were exactly the same.
Zhuang Qingyuan’s eyes grew moist, and a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth: “It’s him. I knew he hadn’t left!”
Beside him, Huo Yang couldn’t help but roll his eyes: “……” If you want to find a substitute, just say so. How on earth can you tell it’s him!
He always said Zhuang Qingyuan was more or less mentally ill!
At that moment, there was a knock on the car window from outside. It lowered: “President Zhuang, here is all the information on Qian Xu.”
Zhuang Qingyuan took it and instructed: “Arrange for someone to help him terminate his contract.”
“Yes!” The person outside the window asked, “Should we transfer Qian Xu’s contract directly to Qingyi?”
Zhuang Qingyuan paused for a moment and said, “No need. Just terminating it is enough.”
Su Yi hated others arranging his life!
Moreover, if he truly was Su Yi, he would definitely contact that person and return to his original place.
Of course, if Su Yi liked selling crepes, it wasn’t as if he couldn’t accompany him at the stall.
“You’ve been watching all morning. Even if you won’t go over to say hello, at least let me go buy a crepe to eat!” Huo Yang had wanted to go down long ago, but Zhuang Qingyuan was blocking him, not allowing him to leave the car.
Life was hard. Being this assistant was too difficult. Suddenly, he didn’t really want to do it anymore!
But thinking about the tens of billions in dividends Zhuang Qingyuan gave… forget it, he’d endure it. It was, after all, a small career.
Zhuang Qingyuan: “If you want to eat, go buy one at the snack street. You are not allowed to disturb Su Yi.”
“Su Yi, Su Yi… how is that Su Yi? Two completely different faces, yet you insist they are the same person. You’ve gone mad!” Huo Yang cupped his face and leaned against the window, muttering in a small voice, “I’m also sick. You’ve been crazy since the day Su Yi died… left. And here I am, actually still doubting it.”
Zhuang Qingyuan lowered his head to read Qian Xu’s data, completely ignoring Huo Yang’s fragmented nagging.
Seeing that Zhuang Qingyuan was ignoring him, Huo Yang intentionally provoked him: “That kid is carved from the same mold as him. Could it be he already has a child?”
“A young nephew.” Zhuang Qingyuan actually responded to him, “A nephew takes after his uncle. Don’t you even have this bit of common sense?”
Huo Yang turned around, stared at Zhuang Qingyuan’s face, and said: “You don’t look like my scumbag father either!”
“Get out!” Zhuang Qingyuan finally looked up and glared at Huo Yang.
His gaze gradually turned cold: “Investigate Qian Xu’s current manager. Send him in [to prison].”
“What happened? Did his manager kill someone for goods, or force people into prostitution…” Seeing Zhuang Qingyuan’s ‘ready to kill’ expression, Huo Yang leaned in curiously. “Damn, a hundred drinking sessions? This is trying to drink someone to death!
“What! He even went to see that old pervert Qiu Liang last night? I’ve heard of Qiu Liang—rumor has it the guy is… dysfunctional; he has to use potent drugs every time, and he likes drugging people.
“And, and—they also say this old thing swings both ways. He’s broken several small newcomers, though he eventually settled it with money and no one came out to sue him.”
Just as Huo Yang finished gossiping, there was a snap.
He saw that the five-million-dollar fountain pen in Zhuang Qingyuan’s hand had been snapped in two!
Following that, he heard a low, deep voice say: “Cut it off.”
“Huh! Cut what off…” Huo Yang looked at the gloomy Zhuang Qingyuan, who appeared calm but was actually exploding with rage. “Qian Xu should be fine. We saw him at the snack street last night…”
Zhuang Qingyuan stabbed an eye-dagger at Huo Yang.
“Fine, fine, cut it! After cutting, send him in. Not a single one of them should think about coming out again.” Huo Yang hurriedly agreed.
He didn’t forget to complain: “You’re doing a good deed here. I didn’t know before that you were such a righteous gentleman!”
Zhuang Qingyuan shot another eye-dagger over. Huo Yang immediately shut up: “Stop glaring. I know your eyes are big. Great President Zhuang is angry for the sake of his ‘blue confidant’ (male lover). I’ll arrange for people to do it right away. Right away.”
Only then did Zhuang Qingyuan stop glaring. After a moment, he spoke with great mercy: “Go down and buy crepes. I want two.”
Huo Yang: “……. So you’re finally hungry.”
“I say, Zhuang Qingyuan, why bother? Just take him away. If you’re really worried, just protect him. With you guarding him, who would dare touch him? Why be so roundabout!”
“He doesn’t like being forced by others,” Zhuang Qingyuan said, lowering his head.
“Right, that was your line back then too. Not only did you not disturb him, you even exiled yourself abroad. And the result? The result was that when you came back, the person was gone.
“Now, you still won’t disturb him. Open your big eyes and take a good look at how those children’s mothers look at him—they look like they want to stick right to him. Be careful or he’ll be snatched away by someone else again this time. We’ll see where you go to cry then.”
Zhuang Qingyuan looked up, his beautiful eyes revealing confusion: “Can… can I disturb him?”
“He isn’t Su Yi right now. The data says Qian Xu has never had a partner. Who knows if this Qian Xu likes men or women? Who knows if it will affect Su Yi!
“Look at how attentive he is to the little kid. Plus, he’s about to leave the circle; he’s even selling crepes now. Who knows if he’ll go off and get married and have kids with someone one day.”
Zhuang Qingyuan fell into silence. A long time passed.
“Go back. Hand Wind of Amnesia to him. He… will be interested.” Zhuang Qingyuan looked at Su Yi spreading crepes at the school gate and clenched his fist.
Huo Yang put on a “teachable student” expression: “That’s more like it. Take the initiative. Since you can’t let go, then go fight for it. With your conditions, who could possibly outcompete you!”
…
Su Yi finished his busy spell, turned around to look at Xiao Le, and saw that Xiao Le had already finished his meal and tidied up his tableware himself.
The tiny person was obediently leaning over the small table doing his homework.
This child… his sensible nature made one’s heart ache!
After Xiao Le finished his homework, he was a bit sleepy and crawled into Su Yi’s arms.
It was also Su Yi’s first time taking care of a child, but fortunately, he had filmed many scenes and had some experience. He gathered the child into his arms and took off his own outer jacket to drape over him.
This wouldn’t do. The temperature wasn’t too cold yet, but if it got colder, Xiao Le would definitely catch a cold sleeping for a nap like this.
While Su Yi was lost in thought, an email arrived on his phone. It was from the person Su Yi had contacted yesterday, sending over part of the evidence regarding Zhou Bopi’s “yin-yang contracts” and threatening artists into “sex-for-favors” deals.
Su Yi looked through them. This evidence wasn’t enough to definitely send “Zhou the Skinner” away for good, but it was enough for a contract termination!
Su Yi held Xiao Le tighter, using his hand to protect the child’s head from the wind.
He needed to make money. Selling crepes at a stall like this wouldn’t buy him an RV. Looking at Xiao Le’s obedient sleeping face, Su Yi’s eyes held a heartache, so he made a decision.
After Xiao Le went back into school for classes, Su Yi packed up the stall, took out his phone, and proactively contacted Zhou Bopi.
…
At the company, when Zhou Bopi saw Qian Xu—who hadn’t answered his calls all morning—his anger flared: “Do you not want to stay in this industry anymore? You won’t even answer my calls. Believe it or not, I’ll find someone to smash your sister’s stall right now!”
Su Yi gave a cold laugh and walked toward Zhou Bopi.
Meeting Su Yi’s icy gaze, Zhou Bopi was frozen for a moment and shut his mouth. When did this person’s eyes become so piercing!
Su Yi threw the printed evidence directly into Zhou Bopi’s face: “Look at this. See if I can send you in or not!”
Zhou Bopi was shaken by the cold pressure coming from Su Yi. He looked down and picked up the documents on the desk. The further down he read, the darker his face became: “Impossible. How… how did you get these things?”
Su Yi didn’t bother wasting words arguing with him. He stated directly: “I want to terminate the contract. Otherwise, more evidence will be handed to the police.”
Hearing there was more evidence, Zhou Bopi thought that if there were proof, why wouldn’t he bring it out now? He was clearly bluffing. Did he think he was born yesterday?
“Qian Xu, you have no background… it’s impossible for you to get these.” Zhou Bopi was always cautious; he had investigated all the artists under him thoroughly. As long as there was even a bit of power behind them, he wouldn’t offend them.
And he was certain it was absolutely impossible for Qian Xu to have the channels to get these things.
“Is someone helping you? Or are you finally willing to find a gold master (sugar daddy)? Why don’t you bring them for me to see; as your manager, I should vet them for you.”
Su Yi expected that the “Skinning Zhou” wouldn’t believe him. He took out his phone and clicked a video. Zhou Bopi’s voice, conducting a transaction with someone, came out of it.
After hearing just one sentence, Zhou Bopi’s body swayed, his face turning deathly pale.
Seeing Zhou Bopi’s reaction, Su Yi pressed pause: “It is now 3:40. If the contract isn’t terminated, this video will be uploaded to the entire internet at 4:00 sharp.”
“You’re scaring me, Qian Xu. You… you won’t.” Zhou Bopi laughed hideously. “Qian Xu, you are so kind. If this video is exposed, the people in this video will be mocked and pointed at for the rest of their lives. They’ll never have the face to be human again. You won’t hurt them.”
“Heh, ‘kind’!” Su Yi raised his hand and gripped Zhou Bopi’s neck hard, saying calmly, “Hmm? Does being kind mean one should be bullied? Do you have some misunderstanding about kindness!”
His words sounded flat, but the strength in his hand was increasing. Zhou Bopi saw madness and ferocity in Qian Xu’s eyes. Could it be that he pushed too hard and forced the person to want to perish together?
The hand gripping his neck continued to tighten. Zhou Bopi was truly a bit scared now. He couldn’t even resist, so he showed weakness: “Qian Xu, calm down. Let’s talk things through properly.
“Let go first. It’s just a termination? Fine, I agree. I’ll terminate the contract immediately.”
Su Yi didn’t want to hear his nonsense. With a flick of his wrist, he slammed the side of Zhou the Skinner’s face down onto the tabletop. The movement was clean and agile, the force applied skillfully; the sound of the impact was light, but Zhou the Skinner felt his brain rattle. He was extremely dizzy, seeing stars and blurry vision.
“Bring out the termination contract. Terminate it now,” Su Yi barked.
“Fine, fine, I’ll terminate!” As soon as Qian Xu got ruthless, the Skinner immediately caved. He didn’t care about the dizziness and fumbled to pull open the drawer beneath him.
The “yin-yang contracts” Zhou Bopi made were known to the company, but they didn’t interfere and even tacitly allowed him full responsibility. Therefore, the signing materials for all artists under him were right here. It wasn’t hard for Qian Xu to terminate; he only needed to terminate normally according to the original two-year contract.
Zhou Bopi fumbled several document bags out of the drawer, held them close to his eyes for a long time, and searched for a while before finding Qian Xu’s contract.
“This is the one.” While speaking, Zhou the Skinner signed the termination contract: “Qian Xu, look, it’s… it’s done. Now you just need to sign here and the termination will be successful.”
Su Yi flipped through the termination contract, confirmed there were no issues, and signed Qian Xu’s name.
Qian Xu was finally free!
Only then did Su Yi let go of Zhou Bopi, pulling out a wet wipe to wipe his hands.
Zhou the Skinner watched Qian Xu, backing away into the distance. Fear showed in his eyes. His hands kept touching his neck and head. Without looking, he knew a red ring must be left on his neck, burning hot. He did not doubt that just now, Qian Xu clearly wanted to strangle him to death.
