The Innocent 'Green Tea' Alpha at Home is Actually My Boss - Chapter 27
Lu Lin never expected that Sang Weilian would appear here at this time; for a moment, he failed to react.
Sang Weilian’s gaze was fixed straight on him as he continuously pressed forward, only stopping when he was right in front of him. Before Lu Lin could come up with any words of defense, Sang Weilian shifted his sharp gaze to Song He’s face.
“Assistant Song, do you have anything you want to say?”
Song He’s heart sank halfway. He felt that this moment could be considered the greatest professional crisis of his life.
“I…”
“Assistant Song is helping me rehearse.” Lu Lin’s brain worked at high speed, coming up with the most suitable excuse.
“Rehearsing? Coming all the way to a place like this just to rehearse… I didn’t know the two of you were actually on such good terms.” Sang Weilian sneered.
Compared to whether “President Lu” was actually rehearsing or not, he found Song He to be more of an eyesore Song He was, after all, an Omega.
“He’s here on behalf of General Agent Wan to deliver a contract to me.” While explaining, Lu Lin hurriedly urged Song He, “Assistant Song, where is my copy of the contract? Please give it to me.”
“Oh, right, I’ll get it now.” Song He hurriedly scrambled into the car and pulled the acting contract out from a pile of documents on the driver’s seat.
When he handed it to Sang Weilian, his back was drenched in cold sweat, and he didn’t dare let his hand shake in the slightest.
Lu Lin said, “Since I don’t have an agent, I needed to sign the acting contract once it was issued. The head of the Acting Department, who is responsible for this, is going on a business trip tomorrow, so General Agent Wan arranged for Assistant Song to deliver it to me.”
Sang Weilian saw the contents of the contract and the signatures at the bottom; it was indeed as Lu Lin had described.
Because Sang Weilian was wearing a mask and a hat, it was difficult to discern his expression. Therefore, Lu Lin stared intently into Sang Weilian’s eyes, and only after determining that he believed the story did he lower his voice and say, “I’m not very familiar with the people in the crew. Starting tomorrow, there are many scenes to film. I have no experience and was afraid of forgetting my lines, so I temporarily asked Assistant Song to help me rehearse a segment.”
Sang Weilian didn’t speak, Lu Lin didn’t dare move, and Song He didn’t dare leave. Wang Gu, who knew of the relationship between the two, stared at the sky in a daze, while Zhang Chuntao, being timid, kept her head down and forced herself to hear nothing, see nothing, and strictly forbade herself from making any wild guesses.
It wasn’t until Sang Weilian’s driver got out of the car and asked, “Um… where should I park the car? You can’t park on the side of this road for long.”
Lu Lin seized the opportunity to lean closer to Sang Weilian and whispered, “Did you come specifically to see me, Brother? Why don’t we go to my place and sit for a bit? I can tell you anything you want to ask; I just hope you aren’t angry.”
Even though this place was remote and there was no one else on the road besides them, it was, after all, near the film base. There was no guarantee they wouldn’t be photographed and end up on the trending searches.
Wang Gu cleared his throat. “I’ll have the driver go park. Weilian, are you going back or…?”
Lu Lin looked at Sang Weilian expectantly, terrified that he would say he was going back.
Sang Weilian closed the contract, tossed it back to Song He, and gestured to Lu Lin. “Let’s go.”
He then looked at Song He. “Will Assistant Song give us a ride? Wang Gu, you guys can head back. Assistant Song can drop me off later. Assistant Song wouldn’t mind, right?”
Song He swallowed hard, his face remaining calm despite his tension. “Of course I don’t mind.”
In the car, Song He drove in silence. Sang Weilian sat in the back with an expressionless face, while Lu Lin felt incredibly anxious, cautiously yet tightly hooking his hand into Sang Weilian’s.
During the short few-hundred-meter drive, the three of them each had their own thoughts, and no one spoke.
Once the car pulled up steadily in front of the hotel where the crew was staying, Song He reminded them, “Teacher Sang, Teacher Lu, we’ve arrived at the hotel.”
He had simulated in his mind countless times that he must not use the wrong title for Lu Lin, and finally, he had made it through without incident.
Sang Weilian glanced at the passenger seat, saw the folder, and asked, “Does Assistant Song have other work to do?”
Song He nodded. “Yes, but it’s not urgent. Teacher Sang, I can wait for you here and take you back later.”
He let out a long sigh of relief, once again feeling thankful he hadn’t said anything wrong.
“No need, you should head back. Sorry to trouble Assistant Song for this extra trip.” After Sang Weilian finished speaking, he withdrew his hand from Lu Lin’s grasp and pushed open the car door to get out.
Lu Lin didn’t even look at Song He; he quickly followed him out.
Song He rolled down the window, politely bid the two of them farewell, and drove away.
It wasn’t until he had passed three intersections that he dared to stop and catch his breath. The palms of his hands gripping the steering wheel were covered in a layer of sweat.
President Lu, you’re on your own now!
Lu Lin diligently stayed by Sang Weilian’s side to lead the way. This hotel was the closest to the film base, and celebrities often came and went. The hotel staff were professionally trained and never looked around idly, so no one scrutinized or speculated about Sang Weilian, who was wearing sunglasses and a mask.
Once inside the room, Lu Lin was like a student who had done something wrong, standing with his hands clasped in front of him. Wherever Sang Weilian walked, he followed.
The script for The Glorious President was sitting on the desk, opened to a certain page. Sang Weilian caught sight of it, and before he could even reach for it, Lu Lin rushed over to proactively hand the script to him.
Luckily, Sang Weilian had only heard one line, and there happened to be an identical one in the script. It was as if the heavens had saved his life, so he was eager to show his loyalty.
“Brother, the part Assistant Song and I were just rehearsing…”
However, before he could finish, Sang Weilian took the script, closed it, put it back on the desk, and interrupted him: “Go take a shower.”
“What?” Lu Lin was startled.
“Go take a shower,” Sang Weilian repeated with a cold face. “You have the scent of an Omega on you.”
Although it was very faint, he could still smell it the scent of dark chocolate. That was Song He’s pheromones.
Lu Lin realized what he meant. Without even trying to smell himself, he hurriedly said, “I’ll go wash right now. Brother, wait for me.”
He grabbed his clothes and rushed into the bathroom.
Watching his hurried departure, Sang Weilian sat back down in the chair and instinctively reached for the script he had personally closed on the desk.
Turning to the page Lu Lin had wanted to show him, there was indeed a similar line.
“President Miao, please be careful on the road.”
It was spoken by President Miao’s assistant to President Miao.
But what he had heard was “President Lu.”
Recalling the time since he had met Lu Lin, the man had always been very obedient. Although there were times when he kept things from him, it was always harmless.
Today, while Lu Lin was explaining to him, he had been observing Song He’s reaction. Song He wouldn’t have had time to coordinate stories with Lu Lin; under pressure, he would surely have revealed a flaw. Yet, Song He hadn’t said a single word wrong.
Lu Lin had even brought up the head of the Acting Department. If he were really lying, Sang Weilian could confirm it with a single phone call. Would Lu Lin really take such a big risk to lie to him?
His thoughts were in disarray, and the sound of splashing water from the bathroom echoed in his ears.
Sang Weilian eventually closed the script. There was a fact he really didn’t want to admit: he had suspicions about Lu Lin, but he had instinctively begun to make excuses for the other man. Clearly, he didn’t believe the other party would lie to him.
Lu Lin had already obtained a level of trust that 99% of people could never get from him.
What gave him more of a headache was that, rather than Lu Lin lying to him, he was more annoyed that Lu Lin’s body was stained with the scent of another Omega.
Even if the scent was so faint that anyone would know it was accidentally picked up, he was still extremely displeased.
Regardless of what happened in the future, for now, Lu Lin was his possession the Alpha he had chosen.
Lu Lin was worried that if he took too long to wash, Sang Weilian’s anger wouldn’t subside and he would leave. But he was also afraid that the scent of the other Omega’s pheromones wouldn’t be washed away completely. So, he washed quickly and vigorously, only haphazardly wiping away most of the water droplets before walking out with a towel wrapped around him.
Sang Weilian was scrolling through his phone when he heard the movement and turned his head. The lingering warmth of the water vapor rushed toward him.
He looked up and saw striking red marks on Lu Lin’s skin. His firm muscles were not spared, appearing as though they had been rubbed with great force.
The water on his body wasn’t wiped dry, and his hair hadn’t been blown dry. It was obvious he had only rubbed it a few times haphazardly; strands of hair were sticking up in a mess, with a water droplet falling every now and then.
“Why didn’t you dry yourself properly?” Sang Weilian asked.
It was only at the moment Lu Lin saw that he was still there that he dared to breathe a sigh of relief. He took a step back to avoid getting water on Sang Weilian before answering, “I was afraid you would leave.”
Those few words caused Sang Weilian to fall into a brief stupor.
After coming back to his senses, he put down his phone, stood up, walked over to him, and asked, “Why did you think I would leave? Are you afraid I won’t believe you? Or is it because you have the scent of another Omega on you?”
In his raised eyes, there was no questioning or scrutiny; instead, there was more of a playful teasing.
Lu Lin answered in a low voice, “Both.”
He took a deep breath and asked the question that had been weighing on him: “Are you still going to leave?”
Afraid that Sang Weilian would say yes, Lu Lin added, “Assistant Song is gone, and Manager Wang is gone too. There’s no car to take you back.”
What a childish statement.
Sang Weilian wanted to laugh but feigned seriousness as he distanced himself. “I can call a taxi if there’s no car. Also, do you feel like you haven’t washed your body hard enough? Why are you mentioning Song He again?”
Lu Lin immediately made a gesture of zipping his lips. Seeing that Sang Weilian hadn’t moved, he reached out and grabbed him, persistently asking, “I won’t mention him. So… you aren’t leaving, right?”
“If I don’t leave, where will I stay tonight?” Sang Weilian’s anger had mostly dissipated the moment he saw Lu Lin rushing out of the bathroom looking panicked and flustered. Now, he felt like teasing him.
“Stay here with me, okay?” Lu Lin pleaded.
He couldn’t feel at ease letting Sang Weilian leave today. After just experiencing a trust crisis, he only wanted to keep the person firmly under his watch. Ideally, he wanted to hold him in his arms to feel truly secure.
“And then tomorrow, when the crew comes to call for you, they see Sang Weilian sharing a bed with you, and we hit Number 1 on Weibo?” Sang Weilian pulled his hand away.
Lu Lin chased after him and grabbed it again. “I can sleep on the floor. Brother, please don’t leave, okay?”
The tall Alpha’s eyes were rimmed with red, terrified of being abandoned. He held Sang Weilian’s hand with a burning palm, and as the heat transferred over, a faint scent of mountain spring pheromones drifted by.
Sang Weilian felt a bit flushed from his persistence. He looked up at the other man and asked, “Are you using your pheromones to seduce me right now?”
Lu Lin shook his head, then nodded again. “If you like my pheromones and it makes you stay, then consider the seduction a success.”
Sang Weilian stepped forward inch by inch. His hand slid up Lu Lin’s damp abdominal muscles, bit by bit, until his palm pressed against his heart, feeling the other’s intense heartbeat.
He turned his head and left a tooth mark on Lu Lin’s shoulder, that possessive thought resurfacing in his mind.
Pushing him away, Sang Weilian instructed, “Go dry yourself and blow-dry your hair. I need to take a shower in a bit. Find me some clothes I can wear.”
Lu Lin was overjoyed. He knew he had succeeded. He gave a loud “Okay” and charged back into the bathroom.
Late at night, Sang Weilian was held in Lu Lin’s arms, his back pressed against the other’s burning chest. He heard Lu Lin murmuring in his ear.
“Brother, thank you for staying today. I almost thought you didn’t want me anymore.”
Sang Weilian didn’t say anything. He placed his hand on the back of Lu Lin’s hand and patted it twice, his fingertips unintentionally brushing against a scar that still remained from a wound.
After a long while, he replied, “If something happens that the agreement doesn’t allow, we will part ways then.”
Lu Lin held him a bit tighter, stubbornly interlacing their fingers. He buried his face in the crook of Sang Weilian’s neck and promised, “That will absolutely never happen.”
