The Green Tea Omega Has Turned Bad - Chapter 35.2
Although this kiss might not contain any deeper meaning, Yan Xia still couldn’t help her heart from racing because of it.
It wasn’t that she was pessimistic, but rather that she didn’t dare to make any positive guesses about Shang Wandong’s thoughts because Shang Wandong’s thought process was too peculiar for a “wooden person,” this might just be a simple way of expressing gratitude.
After all, she had taken the initiative to ask Shang Wandong to kiss her, so Shang Wandong gave her a kiss, and that was all.
As Yan Xia thought about it, she let out a long sigh: Why do I feel so humble?!
Lu Yixing, however, thought she was sad because of He Xiaoyu’s words, so she patted her shoulder: “Don’t worry about it. This matter isn’t entirely your responsibility; I was the one who sprayed the Yunnan Baiyao. We’re fifty-fifty on this.”
Yan Xia laughed in spite of herself, but her heart was somewhat touched.
She nodded slightly: “Mhm, thank you.”
He Xiaoyu cried for more than half the period in the front. The teacher couldn’t help but call her up and asked patiently, “Xiaoyu, what’s wrong?”
Someone laughed: “She was bullied by someone.”
The teacher frowned, looking serious: “Who?”
Below, people looked at each other, but no one dared to answer.
The teacher looked at He Xiaoyu, whose eyes were red, and said warmly, “Xiaoyu, you tell me.”
He Xiaoyu stood there and shook her head, saying hoarsely, “I’m fine, Teacher.”
Seeing this, the math teacher could do nothing but let them dismiss after class.
System: “Host, He Xiaoyu seems to be targeting you.”
Yan Xia leaned back against her chair and said calmly, “It’s okay. Plenty of people target me; I’ll arrange things for all of them one day.”
The system said worriedly: “You have to be careful. I feel like she’s about to start trouble.”
Yan Xia nodded: “Don’t worry.”
The first period in the afternoon was Director Xu’s class.
He wasn’t in a hurry to start the lesson. He moved a chair onto the podium, sat down leisurely, and said steadily, “For the last self-study period today, as per tradition, the grade level will select a few outstanding students to go to other classes to share some study tips.”
Facing the pairs of eyes below, Director Xu said with a smile, “I’ve decided to pick five people from our class to go. Class B is also picking five.”
“Wandong isn’t feeling well today, so I won’t let her go. Xiaoyu, Qiyuan, Wenhan, you three go.”
Director Xu added, “For the remaining two, I plan to pick the ones who have made the most progress. Let’s have Yan Xia and Siyu go.”
Once this list was announced, many people couldn’t help but feel excited and thrilled.
He Xiaoyu and Yan Xia going together? Are they sure it won’t trigger a massive fight?
Yan Xia, however, was thinking about the study tips she had shared in Class F before and couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth.
“Watch more, read more, memorize more” seemed a bit too perfunctory.
Lu Yixing was also worried about the issue with He Xiaoyu, so she lowered her voice and said to Yan Xia, “Be a bit alert and try not to walk with He Xiaoyu. She has a group of sisters, and Zhao Siyu has been getting very close to her lately.”
Yan Xia feigned surprise: “Why?”
“She likes Shang Wandong,” Lu Yixing said. “I reckon it’s because you and Shang Wandong have a good relationship that she finds you an eyesore.”
Yan Xia realized: “Oh…”
So it’s love rival number two.
He Xiaoyu didn’t seem as “lotus-like” as Fu Yuan; she should be the type who takes the “secretly stabbing people in the back to intimidate them” route.
Lu Yixing added, “These people are simply inexplicable, acting like they’re in a palace drama. It’s not like Shang Wandong could possibly like you.”
Yan Xia: … Little sister, I don’t really like hearing those words.
She asked in a delicate voice, “Why do you say that? Does Wandong have someone she likes?”
Lu Yixing’s expression was surprised: “It’s not that… can you imagine someone like Shang Wandong falling in love with someone else? Can you imagine her having close contact with anyone? Falling in love with her is like a moth to a flame; it’s all in vain.”
Yan Xia: Thanks for the invite, she just kissed me earlier!
Yan Xia coughed a few times and said in a small voice, “You make it sound like she’s going to be alone for her whole life.”
“I just feel that for someone like her, since she doesn’t care about most people’s feelings, it’s also not very likely she’ll fall in love with anyone.” Lu Yixing waved her hand. “I don’t mean to say she’s not good; getting out of being single is possible… but the probability is comparable to me winning a five-million-dollar lottery.”
Yan Xia rubbed her brow and thought: Shang Wandong, look at your image in other people’s minds! Reflect on yourself!
However, Lu Yixing’s intuition was surprisingly accurate; Shang Wandong really was the type of person suited to growing old alone.
Before class ended, Director Xu called Yan Xia and the other four over to discuss how to divide into groups.
He Xiaoyu, however, said, “Teacher, there’s no need for so much trouble. We can just choose freely.”
Director Xu thought about it, nodded, and said with interest, “Then you guys arrange it yourselves.”
He Xiaoyu turned around and gave Yan Xia a smile: “Yan Xia, Wenhan and I have decided to be in a group. Do you want to join us?”
Yan Xia raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.
Seeing her expression, He Xiaoyu said with a face full of sincerity, “What happened this morning was me being too excessive. I also have responsibility; I shouldn’t have said that about you.”
Yan Xia smiled: “It’s okay, I didn’t take it to heart.”
He Xiaoyu’s eyes lit up: “That’s good!” She then pouted and looked at Yan Xia with a pleading expression, “Then be in a group with us, okay?”
Yan Xia nodded slightly: “Alright.” Let me see what you’re trying to do.
He Xiaoyu was immediately overjoyed. She came over and hooked her arm through Yan Xia’s, looking very intimate, as if she truly wanted to be friends with her.
Yan Xia observed her, only feeling that the other girl’s acting was much better than Jiang He’s; she actually couldn’t find any flaws.
Truly worthy of being a top student in Class A.
The grouping was resolved, and everyone returned to their seats. When Yan Xia got up and left the classroom, she heard Luo Qiyuan’s voice behind her.
“Yan Xia!”
Yan Xia turned back and asked, “Student Luo, is something the matter?”
Luo Qiyuan stopped in front of her, her expression somewhat complex. She had exquisite features and brownish hair, with fine strands gathered into a bun that shimmered with a beautiful golden hue under the dazzling sunlight.
Luo Qiyuan looked at her, her eyes flickering as if she wanted to say something but didn’t know where to start.
Yan Xia waited for a moment and was getting a bit impatient.
She was in a hurry to go to the restroom!
She couldn’t help but ask again: “Student Luo, do you have something to say?”
Luo Qiyuan was startled and said in a low voice, “…Be careful of He Xiaoyu.”
Yan Xia was different from when she first saw her; even the way she addressed her had changed.
She had changed too much; her posture was clean and dazzling, like an eye-catching glass flower.
The girl who had cried and called out to Luo Qiyuan, shivering as she hid behind her, seemed to have disappeared.
Why was everyone coming to remind her to be careful of He Xiaoyu? Did she look that weak and fragile?
Yan Xia laughed in spite of herself, lifted the corners of her mouth, and said in a gentle voice, “Thank you, Student Luo.”
In her features, there were still a few traces of her former gentle and soft-spoken self.
By the time Luo Qiyuan regained her senses, Yan Xia had already walked far away. Outside the corridor, the sun was as bright as fire, making her back ache faintly from the heat.
She withdrew her gaze and walked toward the classroom in a daze.
After enduring the afternoon, amidst everyone’s anticipation, the bell for the self-study period rang, living up to expectations.
“Sister, how are you feeling now?” Yan Xia placed her hand on Shang Wandong’s forehead to estimate her temperature, and then she broke into a smile, “The temperature has dropped a lot.”
Shang Wandong said softly, “I’ve been fine for a long time.”
Yan Xia was worried: “Then you must remember to take your medicine by yourself; don’t avoid it because you’re afraid of the bitterness…”
Shang Wandong immediately interrupted her: “Go on. I’ll wait for you in the classroom.”
Yan Xia curved her eyes and flicked her forehead with a finger: “Mhm, wait for me to come back like a good girl.”
He Xiaoyu turned her head and saw this very scene. Her expression twisted slightly for a moment, and then she put on a smile and called out eagerly, “Yan Xia, let’s go.”
