The Green Tea Omega Has Turned Bad - Chapter 35.1
By the time the two of them returned to the classroom, it was already the end of the third period. Quite a few people immediately swarmed forward, surrounding Shang Wandong in the center, chattering away with concern about her health.
“Wandong, are you okay?”
“How did you suddenly get a fever? You gave us a real scare.”
“Did you take medicine? If it’s serious, you should go home and rest for a day.”
Throughout the entire process, Shang Wandong showed no emotion, answering coldly and indifferently with words like “Thank you,” “I’m fine,” and “It’s not serious.” Her responses basically did not exceed three words.
Yan Xia was quickly pushed to the outer edge of the crowd, as if this matter had absolutely nothing to do with her.
She moved along with the surging crowd, but she truly could not get close to Shang Wandong. The other girl was surrounded in the very center, bathed in the limelight, appearing far out of reach.
Suddenly, a hand reached out from an unknown direction and inadvertently gave her a push on her back.
Yan Xia was startled and stumbled out of the crowd, quickly grabbing the back of a nearby chair, but her elbow struck the corner of a nearby desk.
The desk corner was rounded and not very sharp, but hitting it so suddenly still caused some pain.
Yan Xia lowered her head and carefully rubbed the spot where she had been hit. She saw a faint patch of blue and purple appearing on her fair skin.
It was bruised.
She knitted her brows and raised her eyes to search through the crowd. There was a dense mass of black heads, and it was truly impossible to find out who the perpetrator was.
Yan Xia could only wrinkle her face and return to her seat first.
Many sympathy gifts had been placed on Shang Wandong’s desk, all wrapped in very exquisite and cute packaging paper, such as handmade cookies, hot tea, milk, and small cakes… Someone who didn’t know better might have thought she didn’t just have a cold, but was suffering from some terminal illness.
Yan Xia looked at her desk, then looked at her own elbow, and sat down feeling quite unbalanced in her heart.
Lu Yixing did not join the excitement; she was lying on the desk sleeping, but she opened her eyes when she heard a sound.
She asked lazily, “You’re back?”
Yan Xia nodded while rubbing her elbow.
Lu Yixing: “What happened to your arm?” She leaned closer to look and said in surprise, “Did you hit it? Did you fall?”
Yan Xia: “I accidentally bumped it against a desk.” She paused and asked, “Did the teacher say anything just now?”
“Old Class Leader Xu didn’t say much; he just told Shang Wandong to rest well and said she could ask for leave if she really couldn’t make it.” Lu Yixing buried her head in the desk compartment and rummaged around noisily. “A lot of people wanted to go to the infirmary to see Shang Wandong, but he stopped them.”
Yan Xia tilted her head to glance at Shang Wandong in the crowd and said gloomily, “It’s being treated like a fan meeting; does it have to be that exaggerated?”
Lu Yixing was still looking for something, making clanging noises, but didn’t forget to reply: “She is, after all, the top celebrity of our school. Did you see all that stuff on her desk? It’s not just from our class; there are things from other classes too.”
Yan Xia was surprised: “Ah? The news spread that fast?!”
Lu Yixing: “That’s nothing. Before, when Shang Wandong went to the cafeteria for lunch, her menu would appear on the school forum ten minutes later.”
“School forum?” Yan Xia remembered that the original book did mention a forum for Hucheng No. 1 High School, but she had never been there herself. She couldn’t help but feel curious and asked, “Do you have the address?”
“You’ve never logged on?” Lu Yixing was a bit surprised, but not for long. “Add me on WeChat, and I’ll send you the URL.”
Yan Xia exchanged numbers with her, and the other person quickly sent a website link.
She clicked it open and saw a beautiful woman with a heart-shaped face and a curvy figure dancing hotly to dynamic music. On the right, rows of bullet comments and tips were popping up.
She saw her lift her long hair, blow a kiss toward the camera, and say in a delicate voice, “Thank you to Boss Xingxing for the airplane~ Mwah!”
Yan Xia: “…?”
Lu Yixing: “Sorry, I sent the wrong one.”
Yan Xia: … I feel like I’ve stumbled upon something extraordinary; I won’t be assassinated, will I?
She closed the live stream somewhat awkwardly and opened the second webpage sent by Lu Yixing.
The page loaded quickly, and a forum with a light blue background came into view.
Yan Xia felt inexplicably relieved: Finally, the right one.
There were many sections, such as “Cute Pet Paradise,” “Novel Exchange Area,” “Melon Field Under the Moon”…
Yan Xia first bookmarked the page, planning to open it later.
She looked at Lu Yixing, who was still tossing things around in her drawer, rubbed her nose, and couldn’t help but ask curiously, “What are you looking for?”
As soon as she finished speaking, Lu Yixing let out an “Aha!” and pulled out a small pale yellow bottle.
“Found it!” she said happily. “Yunnan Baiyao!”
Yan Xia was stunned for a moment: “…Thank you.”
Lu Yixing didn’t seem embarrassed by what had happened earlier. She unscrewed the bottle, shook it a few times, and said bluntly, “It’s nothing. I had a little left after using it before, so it’s perfect for you.”
Yan Xia laid her arm on the desk. Lu Yixing pressed the spray, and a large patch of yellow sizzled onto her elbow.
A sharp herbal scent drifted out. Yan Xia felt a cold and icy sensation on her skin, and the dull pain from the bruise eased significantly.
She thought with some emotion in her heart: This desk mate, besides being big-hearted and blunt, seems to be quite a good person.
This was one of the few instances of kindness she had received since entering Class A.
Three minutes before the bell rang for class, Shang Wandong finally returned to her seat.
After taking her medicine and sleeping, her low fever had subsided, but her face was still somewhat pale.
Shang Wandong glanced at Yan Xia in the seat in front of her. She was chatting with her desk mate, Lu Yixing, resting her chin on one hand. Her fine hair fell from the side of her cheek, and it was unclear what they were talking about, but her eyes were curved into smiles.
Shang Wandong lowered her eyes, put the miscellaneous small gifts on her desk into her drawer, and tapped her fingers unconsciously on the tabletop.
Fu Yuan, who was next to her, said in a small voice, “Who sprayed medicinal water?”
The person in the front also wrinkled her nose and said shrilly, “Who is spraying a weird smell in the classroom? Can’t you go outside to do it? It smells awful!”
Hearing this, Yan Xia quickly reached out to open the window for ventilation and smiled apologetically at her: “I’m sorry, I just sprayed a bit of medicine.”
The person in the front gave her a sideways glance and scoffed.
This person was Yan Xia’s first desk mate when she moved seats, the one who hadn’t responded to Yan Xia’s greeting before. Her cheekbones were slightly high, and her eyes were long and narrow; she had a very mean-looking appearance.
“Can’t you go outside to do it?” that person said sharply. “Didn’t you see how many people are in the classroom? Do you have to pollute the air?”
Lu Yixing felt annoyed listening to this and slapped the desk hard: “He Xiaoyu, that’s enough from you.”
He Xiaoyu shrank back and widened her eyes: “What are you doing, Lu Yixing? Do you want to hit someone?!”
Lu Yixing: “I don’t hit Omegas. But the way you speak is really annoying. Did you eat gunpowder today? Or are you on your period?”
He Xiaoyu was aggressive: “You guys released poison in the classroom first; can’t I say something? Is this your home?”
Yan Xia quickly said, “Stop arguing. It’s true that I didn’t do this well. I should have gone outside to spray it.” She turned to He Xiaoyu and said, “I’ve already opened the window for ventilation, and the smell is much less now.”
Quite a few people looked over, whispering and pointing.
“Is that Yan Xia?…”
“It’s her again. When did she hook up with Lu Yixing…”
“Tsk tsk tsk, I told you she was a green tea b*tch!”
Shang Wandong’s fingers paused and curled slightly.
In the next second, a cold and clear voice rang out abruptly, interrupting the increasingly excessive discussions—
“Enough.”
Everyone stopped instantly, and their gazes landed on Shang Wandong in unison.
“If you can’t stand the smell, wear a mask.” Shang Wandong looked at He Xiaoyu. Her gaze was cold, like a sharp long sword, piercing directly into the hearts of others.
“Or get out.”
He Xiaoyu’s eyes suddenly widened. In the next second, she turned her head, buried her face in the crook of her arm, and began to cry with “woo-woo” sounds.
Her desk mate quickly comforted her: “It’s okay, Xiaoyu, don’t cry…”
Shang Wandong scanned the surroundings; no one dared to speak again. She leaned forward toward the front row and reached out to grasp the stunned Yan Xia.
Seeing the dark bruise on the other girl’s elbow, Shang Wandong’s brow gradually tightened.
She asked softly, “What happened?”
The farce had subsided, and the surroundings gradually grew quiet. Yan Xia regained her senses, and her gaze landed on Shang Wandong. Those thin lips were opening and closing slightly, vermilion and soft.
Yan Xia felt her cheeks growing faintly hot again.
“It’s nothing… I accidentally bumped it. Yixing just sprayed some medicine for me, and it feels much better.”
Shang Wandong lowered her eyes and asked, “Does it hurt?”
Yan Xia nodded: “A little bit.”
Suddenly, a cool breath was gently blown toward that bruise. It was itchy and cool, like a gentle breeze passing over.
Yan Xia looked at her blankly.
Shang Wandong carefully cupped Yan Xia’s arm and raised her eyes.
“If I blow on it, it won’t hurt anymore, right?”
Yan Xia shook her head, her cheeks flushed and her eyes bright: “Mhm, it doesn’t hurt anymore.”
Lu Yixing crossed her arms and watched for a while, looking completely puzzled: “Are you two acting in an idol drama?”
How could blowing on an arm create so many pink bubbles?
Shang Wandong paused for a moment and gently let go of Yan Xia.
The teacher for the next period walked into the classroom, and Yan Xia hurriedly turned her head back.
During the entire math class, she didn’t really listen; she was in a state of staring blankly into space.
Earlier, Shang Wandong had kissed her.
And she did it voluntarily.
