The General's Love Glitch - Chapter 54
Ruan Wei’s initiative carried a hint of bashfulness and shyness, as if she wasn’t quite accustomed to her new, precise identity as the Chief Executive’s wife.
Jun Jue, however, was ignited by Ruan Wei’s light kiss. Under the influence of alcohol, everything burned even more intensely.
The sound of tearing fabric filled the air, and the surrounding atmosphere grew scorching and sticky. Ruan Wei opened her eyes to see Jun Jue, seemingly out of control, ripping apart the bright red wedding dress she wore. The beautiful, expensive garment was shredded beyond recognition, yet the skin gradually exposed beneath remained untouched, no bruises, no redness. Only the kiss Jun Jue had pressed onto her back before leaving seared into her like a brand.
Her throat dry, she murmured, “Sister, the dress was expensive…”
Jun Jue silenced her with another kiss, leaving no room for further protest.
…
The next morning, Jun Jue, unusually, lingered in bed with Ruan Wei.
The unrestrained night and the lingering effects of alcohol had left her in a deep slumber, so deep that Ruan Wei woke before her.
It was rare for Ruan Wei to see Jun Jue in such a peaceful sleep. Using her finger as a brush, she traced the contours of Jun Jue’s face. When she reached her lips, she leaned down and kissed them.
Jun Jue’s eyes fluttered open, and Ruan Wei, caught off guard, jerked her head back.
Jun Jue sat up and pulled Ruan Wei into her arms. Ruan Wei squirmed slightly in protest.
“Sister, were you already awake? Did you want to see what I’d do to you?”
Jun Jue smiled without answering, confirming Ruan Wei’s suspicion, she had indeed woken the moment Ruan Wei’s fingers began tracing her face.
“Weiwei, you can do anything to me.”
Jun Jue pressed Ruan Wei’s hand against her own chest. Ruan Wei’s gaze instinctively dropped to where her hand met Jun Jue’s skin, feeling the vigorous heartbeat beneath her palm. Her face flushed instantly.
“Weiwei, you’re blushing again,” Jun Jue teased, her voice low and pleasantly husky.
Ruan Wei felt a pang of embarrassment at being caught, her cheeks puffing out in indignation.
Unable to resist, Jun Jue reached out and gently pinched them.
In retaliation, Ruan Wei shifted her hand slightly from Jun Jue’s chest and gave a firm squeeze.
She paused immediately after, watching Jun Jue’s reaction.
Jun Jue winced in pain, and Ruan Wei quickly withdrew her hand.
“Sister, are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Jun Jue replied, quickly regaining her composure.
Ruan Wei lowered her eyes, still feeling guilty. “But when you do that to me, it doesn’t hurt at all,” she muttered softly.
Jun Jue glanced down. Both of them had just woken up, the only cover being the red blanket draped around their waists. Her throat tightened. “Weiwei, you didn’t hold back.”
The moment she said it, Jun Jue regretted it, Ruan Wei’s curiosity and eagerness to learn were proving difficult to handle.
“Like this?” Ruan Wei asked with utmost seriousness.
Jun Jue took a deep breath, gripping Ruan Wei’s mischievous hand before flipping her onto her back and pinning her beneath her.
After another round of playful tussling, Ruan Wei lay beneath Jun Jue, eyes closed, lazily thinking: Perhaps she was still more suited to lying comfortably.
…
Jun Jue carried Ruan Wei, who refused to lift even a finger, to the bathroom to freshen up. Once dressed in casual clothes, they finally opened the bedroom door, hand in hand, ready for breakfast.
Uncle Zhang, Jiang Lan, and the others, who had been waiting to deliver their surprise blessings, had nearly withered from anticipation.
When their eyes met, those who understood the deeper meaning felt somewhat awkward, except for Ruan Wei and Jiang Tang. Ruan Wei was delighted to see so many familiar faces, while Jiang Tang was still puzzled about why the Chief Executive had woken up so late today. It was almost 11 o’clock, time for lunch.
However, having learned from past experiences, she didn’t ask anything this time.
Jun Jue cleared her throat lightly. “Everyone, please take your seats for the meal.”
After the meal, everyone presented their wedding gifts for Jun Jue and Ruan Wei. The Jiang sisters had chosen gifts tailored to Ruan Wei’s preferences. Tao Xinran and Sun Qian had prepared gifts for both Ruan Wei and Jun Jue, though the latter were more of a blind guess.
Few had any idea what the Chief Executive liked, except for one certainty, Weiwei.
Ruan Wei happily accepted all the wedding gifts.
Before leaving, everyone wished her and Jun Jue a joyful honeymoon.
Ruan Wei blinked her beautiful long lashes in delight and said to Jun Jue, “Sister, let’s go on our honeymoon right now.”
Jun Jue reminded her that the schedule was set for the next day, but Ruan Wei couldn’t wait.
With a mix of helplessness and affection, Jun Jue smiled. “Alright, let’s go pack our things then.”
Ruan Wei picked out a suitcase full of new clothes, while Jun Jue brought a few outfits of her own, along with a black box.
“What’s this?” Ruan Wei asked curiously, having never seen it before.
Jun Jue curved her lips. “For you.”
“For me?” Ruan Wei was thrilled. “What is it? A honeymoon gift?”
“Open it and see.”
Jun Jue unlocked the black box and handed it to Ruan Wei. When Ruan Wei opened it, her eyes sparkled at the sight of the dazzling jewelry inside.
“Are these…?” Ruan Wei looked at Jun Jue in astonishment.
Jun Jue nodded with a smile. These were the remaining 99 pieces from the 100 items they had picked out when shopping for Tian Tian and her fiancée’s wedding gifts.
“Sister, why did you buy all of them?”
“Because I saw you liked them.”
Ruan Wei opened her mouth but couldn’t find the words. Instead, she lowered her head to examine the beautiful jewelry carefully, picking through them with her fingers.
“Sister, what do you think would go well with my outfit today?”
Jun Jue pondered for a few seconds. Ruan Wei was wearing a long red trench coat with a low-cut inner layer. Jun Jue also reached into the black box, her fingers brushing against Ruan Wei’s as she searched.
The familiar warmth and touch sent a ripple from her fingertips to her heart. Ruan Wei withdrew her hand first.
In the end, Jun Jue selected a delicate gold necklace and fastened it around Ruan Wei’s neck herself. Pleased with how it looked, Ruan Wei twirled happily in front of the mirror.
Jun Jue packed their luggage and waited for Ruan Wei to finish admiring her new look before beckoning, “Weiwei, let’s go.”
…
The first stop of their honeymoon was a return to Planet GR03, as decided by Ruan Wei.
When Jun Jue asked why, Ruan Wei said she wanted to check if the planet’s planetary administrator had truly reformed and whether he had continued oppressing the residents after their departure.
Jun Jue wrapped her arms around Ruan Wei’s waist from behind, both touched and proud. “My Weiwei has grown up.”
“Well, I’m the Chief Executive’s wife now,” Ruan Wei declared proudly.
After a while, Ruan Wei remarked, “Sister, it seems like our trip to GR03 isn’t affected this time. I remember last time, the Junchen’s sub-cabin shook like an earthquake.”
Jun Jue smiled and said, “The Federation has invested in infrastructure, including opening up navigation routes to Planet GR03 to ensure seamless communication between other planets and GR03.”
“That’s wonderful! So do the residents there now have flying cars and neural computers?”
“Mhm.”
After a while, Jun Jue’s private starship arrived at Planet GR03.
Ruan Wei gasped in amazement. “They’ve even built a starport here already.”
Jun Jue nodded. Although they had helped rebuild Planet GR03 last time and accomplished a great deal, some of the subsequent work required professionals dispatched by the Federation to be fully completed.
After parking the starship, Jun Jue took Ruan Wei’s hand and led her out.
Stepping once again on the soft soil of Planet GR03, both Jun Jue and Ruan Wei felt a surge of emotions.
Soon, a large starship landed nearby, and many people disembarked. Since it was a weekday, most were middle-aged uncles and aunties, though there were also quite a few young people, all here as tourists.
Planet GR03 had been marketed with several trending tags in tourism promotions: the hometown of Madam Weiwei, the planet jointly rebuilt by the Chief Executive and Madam Weiwei, and the War-torn Valley that had been perfectly transformed into the Valley of a Hundred Flowers. All of these attracted countless visitors from afar.
To avoid being recognized and causing trouble, the two disguised themselves simply. Ruan Wei wore a red hat with a wide brim and a pair of sunglasses, while Jun Jue matched her in a black trench coat, sporting only sunglasses and a slightly altered hairstyle, Ruan Wei had tied her hair into a half-ponytail and even picked out a pair of tassel earrings from the black jewelry box for her.
Their outfits weren’t exactly low-key, and passing tourists easily noticed them, drawn by their striking looks, great figures, and an inexplicably familiar aura though no one could quite place who they were.
“See? I told you it’d be fine,” Ruan Wei said playfully.
By nightfall, they shed their simple disguises. Apart from the front desk staff, who were shocked when scanning their faces during check-in, no one else recognized them.
Inside their couple-themed suite, Ruan Wei marveled at everything in the room while Jun Jue removed her sunglasses and began inspecting every corner. Before long, she had gathered several small black components in her hand.
Curious, Ruan Wei followed her around. “Sister, what are you doing?”
Jun Jue placed all the hidden pinhole cameras she had found onto the table, stacking them into a small pile, roughly twenty in total.
“What are these?” Ruan Wei, unfamiliar with such devices, picked one up to examine.
“Pinhole cameras.”
“Ah!” Ruan Wei dropped it in fright. “Why would there be things like these in a hotel?”
Jun Jue’s expression darkened. “Poor hotel regulations and lax oversight from the authorities. The Federation has long cracked down on such issues, but Planet GR03 hasn’t caught up yet. Weiwei, we’ll need to visit the Planetary Administrator again.”
“Then let’s go,” Ruan Wei said, standing up, figuring the Planetary Administrator’s residence at least wouldn’t be riddled with terrifying cameras.
“No rush.” Jun Jue pulled Ruan Wei into her arms with a gentle tug and leisurely dialed the private number the Planetary Administrator had given her before they left GR03.
The Planetary Administrator was exercising at home. After Planet GR03 connected to the Federal Stellar Network, his greatest hobby became following fitness influencers online. Now, his belly had slimmed down, and he believed he would soon transform into a stylish man. His next goal was to tackle his hair loss, these were his two immediate objectives.
When his neural interface emitted a special alert tone, the Planetary Administrator froze for only a second before dropping his equipment and answering the call with excitement and enthusiasm.
“Chief Executive, greetings! Currently, Planet GR03 is developing according to the plan you previously outlined and has already achieved some results. You are welcome to visit and inspect at any time.”
“Very good,” Jun Jue replied, holding Ruan Wei in her arms while her fingers lightly tapped the edge of the desk twice.
“Overall, it’s progressing well, but there are still some minor issues. The regulatory departments need further reorganization.”
The Planetary Administrator wiped the sweat from his forehead, sensing the deeper implications of the Chief Executive’s words. He cautiously asked, “Chief Executive, have you perhaps already arrived on Planet GR03?”
Jun Jue first moved Ruan Wei to the sofa beside her before switching the call to video mode, directing the camera toward the pile of pinhole cameras on the table.
“Planetary Administrator, the Federal Constitution clearly states that citizens’ privacy must not be violated, let alone intimate matters. This is illegal. According to regulations, such hotels would be required to shut down for rectification.”
The Planetary Administrator, who had been sweating profusely from exercise earlier, now broke out in a cold sweat. He hadn’t been aware of these regulations, had he known, he would never have allowed such gray areas to exist.
“Chief Executive, spare me! I’m not well-versed in Federal laws. The judicial system on GR03 is still in its early stages, and we haven’t yet recruited enough qualified personnel. Please give me some time, I promise such incidents will never happen again.”
Jun Jue understood that rebuilding a planet from the ground up took time and didn’t hold the Planetary administrator overly accountable. She immediately contacted the Federal Supreme Court to discuss legal support for GR03’s development, quickly reaching a consensus.
Finally, the Chief Justice nervously asked, “Chief Executive, weren’t you supposed to be on your honeymoon with Madam Weiwei? Why are you working again?” And at this hour, no less, it counted as overtime.
“I am on my honeymoon,” Jun Jue replied succinctly.
Truly befitting of the Chief Executive, even during her honeymoon, she remained dedicated to the entire Federation, including remote planets like GR03. The Chief Justice marveled inwardly.
The neural interface supported two simultaneous calls, so the Planet Administrator heard Jun Jue’s conversation with the Chief Justice clearly. A sense of reverence welled up in his heart.
“Thank you, Chief Executive, for your care and assistance toward Planet GR03. Since you and Madam Weiwei are here for your honeymoon, if you haven’t yet found accommodations, I recently used some leftover gold bars to purchase a villa with a view of the Milky Way and stellar orbits. If you don’t mind, it’s yours to stay in temporarily.”
Ten minutes later, the Planetary Administrator personally arrived in a hovercar to pick them up and escorted them to the villa with its prime location, even leaving the vehicle for their use.
As he departed, Jun Jue instructed, “The issue with the pinhole cameras must be rectified strictly. There will be many more regulations to follow in the future. Also, keep our presence here confidential.”
“Chief Executive, rest assured, I understand completely.” The Planetary Administrator grinned, miming zipping his lips shut, and left with deep respect.
After the Planetary Administrator left, Jun Jue stood silently in place for a while. Ruan Wei took the initiative to come over and hold her hand, quietly keeping her company.
The two stood together on the balcony, letting the evening breeze wash over them. The Planetary Administrator’s claim that they could see the Milky Way and star trails was indeed true, though the view was somewhat hazy.
Suddenly, Ruan Wei hopped in front of Jun Jue, tilting her head up to look at her. “Sister, I still think the meteor shower you gave me before was the most beautiful.”
The seriousness on Jun Jue’s face gradually melted away, and a faint smile crept onto her lips.
“Weiwei, did all the wishes you made back then come true?”
Ruan Wei lowered her head, extending both hands and counting carefully on her fingers. Soon, she looked up again but said nothing.
Jun Jue was puzzled, watching her in confusion.
Ruan Wei rose onto her tiptoes, wrapping her arms around Jun Jue’s neck, and pressed her lips close to her ear, whispering softly in the wind.
“They all came true!”
“What about you, sister?”
“Me too.” Jun Jue held her tightly.
She was all she had ever wished for in this life.
