The General's Love Glitch - Chapter 55
After spending a few days on Planet GR03, Jun Jue took Ruan Wei to their next destination.
The next stop was the planet Tylan Star, infamous for its interstellar pirates who had previously challenged the Federation’s authority by competing for the basic resources of planet GR03. With the internal conflicts within the Federation now resolved, Jun Jue had instructed the current General Jiang Lan to expedite the resolution of this historical issue.
Jiang Tang and Jiang Li, newly promoted to Lieutenant Generals, also joined the mission.
What the three sisters didn’t expect was to encounter the Chief Executive and Madam Weiwei on Tylan Star as well.
Jiang Tang, in particular, was so shocked her eyes nearly popped out of her head. Just days ago, she had heard about the Chief Executive’s visit to GR03, where issues were identified and rectifications demanded. Now, here she was again, appearing on Tylan while the three sisters were dealing with the interstellar pirate problem.
A conclusion quietly formed in her mind.
People always said marriage changes a person, was the Chief Executive now throwing caution to the wind after getting married? She was actually bringing Madam Weiwei along for inspection work during their honeymoon!
Her eldest and youngest sisters were diligently reporting their work, seemingly unfazed by this. Were they not seeing the problem here?
Then there was Madam Weiwei, standing beside the Chief Executive with a gentle smile, quietly holding her arm, as if this were completely normal.
But Jiang Tang thought it was a huge problem.
Lacking romantic experience and slow to awaken in such matters, she had spent much of her free time recently catching up on romance novels and dramas.
For the Chief Executive to dive back into work so soon after her wedding was not a good sign. Based on the prime-time romance dramas she’d watched, this was a precursor to divorce.
If they were to divorce so soon after marriage, Madam Weiwei would be pitiable indeed.
Jiang Tang’s thoughts ran wild, spiraling into elaborate scenarios, and it wasn’t until Jun Jue called her name that she snapped back to reality and began reporting her assigned tasks.
After arranging to have lunch together at noon, Jun Jue took Ruan Wei’s hand and left first, while the three Jiang sisters returned to their work. Jiang Tang anxiously called out to Jiang Lan and Jiang Li.
The two turned back in unison. “What’s wrong?”
“Don’t you think the Chief Executive has changed?”
“She has, she’s become gentler,” Jiang Li said.
After a moment of serious thought, Jiang Lan replied, “Not really. The Chief Executive still cares deeply about the entire galaxy. If anything has changed, it’s that she now has a life and happiness of her own. That’s a good change. We should be happy for her.”
“Is that… a good change?” Jiang Tang asked, utterly bewildered.
Jiang Lan gave her younger sister a long look, lips parting slightly but saying nothing.
Jiang Li rolled her eyes and chimed in, “Second Sister, this is exactly why you’re still single.”
Jiang Tang: “…”
…
At noon, the three Jiang sisters arrived at the designated restaurant, where Jun Jue and Ruan Wei were already waiting.
“These are gifts for you,” Ruan Wei said cheerfully, standing up to distribute her spoils of war to the three sisters.
Jiang Tang accepted the pink gift box and couldn’t help but think of Tao Xinran, she had never given her a gift before.
Lost in thought, she suddenly heard Ruan Wei call her name again. “Sister Jiang Tang.”
Jiang Tang snapped back to attention. “What can I do for you, Madam Weiwei?”
“This is for you too.”
Jiang Tang blinked in confusion, holding up the gift box she already had. “But I already have one.”
“This is for Sister Tao. Could you help me give it to her? The Chief Executive and I aren’t sure when we’ll return to the Federation, so you should deliver it soon,” Ruan Wei requested.
“Alright.” Jiang Tang took it after understanding the reason, completely unaware that this was just Ruan Wei’s little scheme to bring her and Tao Xinran together.
As for Sun Qian’s portion, Ruan Wei handed it to Jiang Li, who immediately grasped the underlying message and accepted it without hesitation.
Jun Jue and Ruan Wei barely lingered on Planet Tylan, departing that very afternoon.
Jiang Tang waited until the end of her shift, then dragged Jiang Li into a secluded corner, avoiding their eldest sister.
“Second Sister, why are you pulling me?” Jiang Li asked, bewildered.
“Want to go shopping?” Jiang Tang scratched the back of her head, her gaze shifting nervously.
Jiang Li’s lips parted in surprise, but she quickly pieced together the reason. Crossing her arms, she said, “Buy me dinner at the most expensive restaurant in the mall, and I’ll go with you.”
Jiang Tang stared at her sister’s swift change in demeanor and nodded. “Let’s go.”
“Shouldn’t we invite Eldest Sister?”
“She’s still working overtime.”
No sooner had she spoken than Jiang Lan emerged from around the corner. “What are you two doing standing here after work?” she asked.
Jiang Li jerked her chin toward Jiang Tang. “Second Sister said she’s treating us to dinner and shopping.”
Jiang Lan glanced at Jiang Tang, uncertain if she should join.
“Eldest Sister, come with us,” Jiang Tang said. Since they were all sisters, she figured embarrassing herself in front of her eldest sister was no different from doing so in front of her younger sister. She steeled herself.
Watching Jiang Tang’s face gradually flush, Jiang Lan sensed something amiss.
“What’s going on?”
“Nothing… I just want to buy a gift…”
“For Miss Tao?” Jiang Lan asked bluntly.
“How did you know, Eldest Sister?” Jiang Tang gaped in shock.
“Let’s eat first,” Jiang Lan said, a faint smirk playing on her lips.
Jiang Tang stood frozen in self-doubt until Jiang Li patted her shoulder. “Come on, Second Sister.”
After dinner, the three sisters headed to the mall. Having left in a hurry, they were still clad in their Federation combat uniforms, their military aura radiating so strongly that passersby might have mistaken them for officers on a mission to apprehend criminals.
“We’re way too conspicuous like this,” Jiang Li remarked, pulling her sisters into a women’s clothing store. They each changed into casual outfits, finally blending in with the crowd.
“So, what kind of gift are you thinking of getting for Miss Tao?” Jiang Lan asked.
Jiang Tang faltered. She realized she didn’t actually know Tao Xinran’s preferences, her expression turning awkward.
“Ugh, Second Sister, you’re hopeless,” Jiang Li groaned, rubbing her forehead. With this kind of cluelessness, no wonder she hadn’t made any progress.
But since this was her sister, she took a deep breath and said earnestly, “Second Sister, Miss Tao clearly likes you, we’ve all seen it. You’re already halfway there. Just be more sincere and brave, and you’ll definitely succeed.”
Encouraged by her sister’s words, Jiang Tang felt both excited and nervous. “Then I’ll ask Madam Wei for some advice.”
She checked her neural comm, still early, so it shouldn’t be too intrusive, right? She glanced uncertainly at Jiang Lan.
Jiang Lan raised a brow. “Want me to contact the Chief Executive for you?”
“No, no, I’ll do it myself.”
Dragging both sisters into a quiet stairwell in the mall, she finally dialed Ruan Wei’s comm number.
When the light brain emitted a series of “beep beep beep” sounds, Ruan Wei was being pulled by Jun Jue to study new materials.
Jun Jue only stopped when Ruan Wei lightly kicked her with the tip of her foot.
“Who is it?” The timing was far too disruptive.
Jun Jue glanced at her glistening fingertips, rubbing them lightly before swiftly moving to Ruan Wei’s side. With her other hand, she brushed away the stray strands of hair from Ruan Wei’s face and leaned down to press a firm kiss on her lips.
Ruan Wei’s eyes fluttered open from the kiss, the light brain still incessantly beeping.
Her heart pounded as she gently pushed Jun Jue away and lifted her wrist to check the caller, it was Jiang Tang.
She took two quick breaths before answering.
“Sister Jiang Tang, what can I do for you?”
Jiang Tang didn’t respond immediately. Instead, Jiang Li’s voice came through, seemingly urging, “Second Sister, hurry up and say it.”
“Say what?” Ruan Wei couldn’t help but grow curious. What could Jiang Tang possibly want to talk to her about at this hour?
“Madam Wei, I want to give a gift to Miss Tao, but… I don’t know what she likes. So, I was wondering if you could tell me, what are Miss Tao’s preferences?”
So that was it. Ruan Wei, who had just been feeling sore in the waist, suddenly sat up in excitement.
“Sister Jiang Tang, you’re so silly. Let me tell you the most direct and effective way.”
“What way?”
“Blood! Vampires drink human blood! Sister Tao has been drinking refrigerated blood from the blood bank lately, it definitely doesn’t compare to fresh blood. If you give her your blood, Sister Tao will surely understand your feelings!”
After saying this, Ruan Wei ended the call, absolutely delighted. Were Sister Jiang Tang and Sister Tao finally making progress?
“Pretty Sister, when do you think they’ll get together?” Ruan Wei turned to Jun Jue with eager enthusiasm.
Jun Jue thought for a moment. “Two people who already like each other, they just need to pierce that thin layer of paper between them. Once it’s broken, they’ll be together.”
Ruan Wei nodded vigorously in agreement.
“Why are you happier about this than when you’re in love yourself?” Jun Jue’s tone suddenly carried a hint of jealousy.
Ruan Wei tilted her head and retorted, “No way! Nothing is happier than being in love with you, Pretty Sister!”
“I love you the most!”
The corner of Jun Jue’s lips curled as she slowly leaned in closer. Before Ruan Wei realized it, she was lying down again, being kissed with utmost tenderness by Jun Jue.
Forehead, nose, cheeks, lips…
When her lips were captured, Ruan Wei couldn’t help but tilt her head back. During a brief pause, Jun Jue whispered like a gentle devil in her ear, “Weiwei, you seem very energetic tonight. Shall we…”
The last few words were practically murmured against Ruan Wei’s ear, making her flush with embarrassment. She covered her face with her hands. How could someone so composed and dignified in public during the day turn into… this at night?
And it wasn’t just at night, sometimes during the day, in the morning, at dusk, any time they were alone…
“What happened to your so-called abstinence?!” Ruan Wei groaned.
Jun Jue only grew gentler. She knew every inch of Ruan Wei intimately, the pitch of her voice, every expression on her face and could gauge exactly how Ruan Wei was feeling in the moment.
This slow, deliberate pace eventually forced Ruan Wei to move on her own. “Pretty Sister…”
The girl, blooming with desire, was unbearably alluring, her voice utterly captivating.
Jun Jue’s throat tightened. She paused her fingers and asked with a smile, “Should we stop here for today?”
Ruan Wei was on the verge of tears, wrapping herself around Jun Jue. “More…”
Jiang Tang felt she had asked the right person. After Ruan Wei cut off the communication, Jiang Tang still sincerely thanked her into the air.
“Thank you, Madam Weiwei.”
Jiang Li watched Jiang Tang with amusement. “Second Sister, maybe wait until you’ve successfully wooed Miss Tao before thanking Madam Weiwei in person.”
“Alright.”
With a clear direction in mind, Jiang Tang felt refreshed and invigorated. She bought several beautiful glass bowls and a white knife at the mall.
The staff found the combination a bit odd and asked cautiously, “May I ask what you plan to use these for?”
“Bloodletting,” Jiang Tang answered bluntly, startling the staff member, whose face turned pale.
Jiang Li quickly stepped in to explain for her sister, “Not for suicide. Her future girlfriend is a vampire, so…”
Jiang Tang started grinning foolishly at the mention of the word “girlfriend,” completely missing whatever Jiang Li said next.
Back at her place, Jiang Tang first took a ritualistic shower, scrubbing her hands especially thoroughly.
She sniffed her fragrant hands, then sat cross-legged on a rug and began the bloodletting.
After a slight sting, the rhythmic sound of blood droplets falling began.
For Jiang Tang, who had zero romantic experience, this was the first time she felt the joy and satisfaction of doing something for someone she liked.
She took a photo and sent it to Tao Xinran.
“Miss Tao, would you like to drink my blood?”
