The General's Love Glitch - Chapter 43
“Weiwei.” Jun Jue softly called out while holding Ruan Wei’s slender, delicate waist.
“General…” Ruan Wei was in unbearable discomfort. She rose on her tiptoes, clinging to Jun Jue’s shoulders as she kissed her.
Jun Jue lowered her gaze, responding intently to Ruan Wei’s kiss. She lifted the unsteady Ruan Wei into her arms and carried her toward the bed inside, gently laying her down.
Ruan Wei hooked her arms around Jun Jue’s neck, pulling her down, her hands already fumbling to undo Jun Jue’s clothes.
Jun Jue caught Ruan Wei’s hands, pausing the kiss to inspect the source of the intoxicatingly sweet peach fragrance emanating from her. With tender care, she brushed her fingertips over it.
“General… I feel so awful. Can you… help me?”
Ruan Wei had already read through the basic omega physiology materials Jun Jue had provided earlier. At first, she hadn’t realized why her body temperature was so high, but now she understood.
She wanted more than just closeness. “General… please help me…”
Jun Jue suppressed her emotions, restraining herself as she asked, “Weiwei, are you sure?”
“Mhm…”
The heat was making Ruan Wei miserable. She bit her lip restlessly. “General, I like you. I’m willing.”
“I like you too.” Jun Jue paused for a moment before responding.
After speaking, she leaned down to kiss Ruan Wei’s lips before slowly shifting her attention elsewhere.
A steady, commanding sandalwood scent filled the air as Jun Jue closely monitored every reaction from the omega. When the time was right, she reluctantly but decisively withdrew.
Yet Ruan Wei couldn’t wait another second, she immediately turned and threw herself back into Jun Jue’s embrace.
“General, hold me,” Ruan Wei murmured softly, her voice laced with an unusual dependency, likely due to her condition.
Jun Jue flexed her fingers before resting her hand on Ruan Wei’s back, pulling her close to soothe her.
As for the awakened desire in her own body, she resolved to suppress it for now. She knew Ruan Wei wouldn’t refuse if she wanted more, but Ruan Wei was still dazed, anything beyond this would be taking advantage.
The only thing that wasn’t taking advantage was giving Ruan Wei the closeness she craved.
…
The night passed without Jun Jue sleeping a wink. She endured her own longing while keeping an ear out for any messages from the Junchen ship.
Fortunately, the night remained uneventful.
A sliver of morning light slipped through the gap in the curtains, spilling across the pristine marble floor before climbing onto the bed. Jun Jue used the soft glow to gaze tenderly at the face of the person nestled in her arms.
Ruan Wei stirred slightly, then slowly opened her eyes. “General… is it morning?”
“Yes.”
“Last night, I…” Memories of the previous night flooded back, and Ruan Wei blushed furiously.
Jun Jue pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Weiwei, last night, I marked you. From now on, you’re mine.”
“I’m the general’s vampire,” Ruan Wei corrected.
“Yes, my beloved vampire.”
“Should we get up now?” Ruan Wei rubbed her eyes and tried to sit up.
“Weiwei.” Jun Jue pulled her back into her arms.
“Hmm?” Ruan Wei blinked in confusion.
Jun Jue smiled. “Weiwei, last night, I helped you. Can you… help me too?”
“Of course!” Ruan Wei agreed readily. “How?”
Jun Jue pressed her shoulders down. “Just lie still.”
When Ruan Wei had come to Jun Jue the night before, her robe had already been loosely worn. After spending the night here, it was even more disheveled, revealing a tantalizing expanse of skin.
Jun Jue gently tugged at the belt of Ruan Wei’s robe, leaving her instantly exposed.
“Ah…” Ruan Wei gasped in surprise. Aside from her mother bathing her as a child, no one else had ever seen her body. Shyness and the urge to hide were instinctive reactions.
Seizing the moment, Jun Jue pressed her lips against Ruan Wei’s, kissing her with utmost tenderness.
She told herself she would stop at the slightest sign of refusal, but Ruan Wei didn’t resist. Her mind was slow to react, but after a dazed moment, she began responding.
“Mmm…” Ruan Wei felt that same overwhelming weakness from the night before return to her body.
Unconsciously, she pressed closer to Jun Jue, though the latter’s neatly worn combat uniform made the contact uncomfortable.
Jun Jue naturally noticed this. Ruan Wei fumbled with the belt at her waist, struggling for a while without success.
“Weiwei, like this.” Jun Jue demonstrated, and Ruan Wei fastened the belt before undoing it again.
Once Jun Jue’s clothes were also shed, Ruan Wei’s eyes lit up. “General, you’re so…”
Jun Jue silenced her with another kiss, leaving no room for words.
…
By the time it was over, it was already 10 a.m. Ruan Wei didn’t want to move a muscle. Jun Jue told Jiang Tang and the others to eat breakfast without waiting for them, they’d join for lunch instead.
Jiang Tang was deeply concerned about the general and her wife’s well-being. Their absence from breakfast made her fear something was wrong.
“Don’t worry, Weiwei has healing abilities. Neither she nor the general will have any issues,” Tao Xinran reassured her.
Jiang Tang felt somewhat relieved, but a new question arose. “Miss Tao, how exactly do vampires use their healing abilities?”
Tao Xinran didn’t know how to answer and simply walked away. Jiang Tang, ever persistent in her curiosity, followed.
Tao Xinran had no choice but to explain: “There are many ways. When we were trapped in prison, if someone needed healing, they’d make a small cut on our wrist. Through that wound, they could transfer their injuries to us, and we’d heal ourselves.”
Jiang Tang’s expression darkened. “And what else?”
“There are gentler methods, though most people don’t know about them,” Tao Xinran added, lowering her voice.
“Like what?”
“A vampire’s saliva and blood can also heal. For couples, a simple kiss can achieve the same effect.”
“Then that must be how the general and Madam Weiwei do it, so romantic!” Jiang Tang found this far more enchanting than the injury-transfer method.
The general truly lived up to her reputation, not only was she one of the Federation’s strongest fighters, but even in love, she was effortlessly romantic. Jiang Tang couldn’t help but envy her.
“I want a vampire too,” she sighed wistfully.
Tao Xinran froze for a moment before Jiang Li called them to eat, giving her an excuse to hurry away before Jiang Tang could say anything else.
…
“Weiwei, time to get up and eat.” Jun Jue, already dressed and ready, tried to rouse Ruan Wei, who remained sprawled motionless on the bed.
Ruan Wei rolled over and continued sleeping, her refusal clear, she was exhausted.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Jun Jue noticed the marks she’d left on Ruan Wei’s snow-white skin and fell into thought.
Couldn’t these be healed?
Or perhaps they didn’t count as injuries?
She realized she might have gone too far for their first time. No wonder Ruan Wei was in a mood.
She first wrapped Ruan Wei in the blanket, then embraced her through it. “Weiwei, your food has come to you.”
Jun Jue exposed the side of her neck, and Ruan Wei didn’t hold back, biting down immediately.
Jun Jue had grown accustomed to this slightly tingling pain, even somewhat addicted to it.
After Ruan Wei drank her fill, she healed the wound for her.
“General, Madam, it’s time to come downstairs for lunch. You both skipped breakfast.” Jiang Tang came upstairs to knock on the door.
“General, you go ahead,” Ruan Wei said. After confirming there was no trace of the wound on Jun Jue’s neck, she collapsed bonelessly back onto the bed to sleep.
Jun Jue opened the door, and Jiang Tang, who had been knocking on the neighboring room, quickly approached. “General, did you and Madam switch rooms last night?”
Jun Jue nodded faintly.
“Let’s go eat.”
“Is Madam Weiwei not coming?”
“Weiwei is full. She’s feeling a bit unwell, so she won’t come down.”
“Ah, but I thought vampires couldn’t feel unwell?”
Jun Jue: “…”
Jun Jue didn’t answer. During lunch, Jiang Tang quietly asked Tao Xinran the same question. Tao Xinran explained that any living creature could feel unwell, it had been a slip of the tongue before.
Though Ruan Wei had said she wouldn’t come down to eat, she eventually dragged her sore and weak body downstairs. Wearing pink pajamas, she leaned against the second-floor railing and called out, “General, there’s news from Sister Jiang Lan.”
Jun Jue immediately set down her utensils and rushed upstairs, carrying Ruan Wei back up with her.
…
Once upstairs, the screen on the third floor displayed footage sent by Jiang Lan: Chief Executive Lin Aimin had launched the “Aimin,” bringing 100,000 soldiers to attack them. Currently, their personal communicators were disconnected from the Federal Star Network, operating in offline mode. Jun Jue could only use the star lord’s contact, promising that after resolving the crisis, the star lord would surrender 95% of his wealth.
“General, our personal guard only numbers 10,000. While our fleet speed is comparable to the Chief Executive’s, the disparity in numbers is too great. Our chances of victory…” Jiang Lan swallowed the words “are slim.”
“This isn’t a war of brute force,” Jun Jue said. “Victory often depends on more than just military strength.”
“Yes, General!” Jiang Lan felt a flicker of confidence reignite.
General Jun Jue was undefeated, almost godlike. Back on Planet G30, she alone had annihilated the entire pirate fleet from Tylan Star. But the Governor was too cunning, it was hard not to worry.
“Has the blue light Weiwei saw been reconstructed?” Jun Jue asked.
“Yes, and the footage clearly shows the Chief Executive tampering with it himself.”
“Find a way to release it on the Star Network.”
“Understood. General, do you think this will work? Won’t the Chief Executive claim we framed him?”
“Even if it only sows doubt among the Federal citizens, that alone is a success,” Jun Jue said. “Once suspicion takes root, no matter how the Chief Executive explains, the people will always carry that thorn in their hearts.”
Jiang Lan found Jun Jue’s reasoning sound, but the same logic applied to Jun Jue herself. The Chief executive and Zhuo Hanjun had repeatedly slandered her openly and covertly, leading many Federal citizens to doubt her as well.
The cost of spreading lies was low, yet the victims had to rely on wit and effort to clear their names such injustice!
“General, doesn’t it make your heart grow cold?”
Jiang Lan felt somewhat indignant on Jun Jue’s behalf. What had Jun Jue gained in return for defending the Federation with her life?
The title of “God of war of the Federation”? Jun Jue didn’t care about such things in the slightest.
The various privileges of being a general? Having followed Jun Jue for so long, Jiang Lan had never seen the general abuse any privileges. The only exception was that one emergency when she pressed the siren to clear the way for air vehicles to reach Madam Weiwei.
But none of this came close to matching the sacrifices Jun Jue had made. Jiang Lan believed this was precisely what made General Jun Jue so extraordinary.
If it had been anyone else, the three sisters wouldn’t have followed with such wholehearted devotion.
“There’s no question of worth, only willingness,” Jun Jue paused before continuing, “I had already thought this through before joining the military. Once you become a soldier of the Federation, you must shoulder the responsibilities that come with it. Some will recognize our efforts, while others will judge us with the worst assumptions. The only thing we can do is fulfill our duty to protect the Federation. That’s how the Federation will grow stronger.”
This was the first time Jiang Lan had heard Jun Jue speak so many words at once. Deeply moved, she saluted and said, “Understood, General. Even the ignorant citizens are part of what we, the Federation Army, must protect.”
…
“Weiwei, would you like some more blood?”
After ending the call with Jiang Lan, Jun Jue turned to Ruan Wei.
Ruan Wei shook her head. “General, you should conserve your strength.”
Seeing the worry in Ruan Wei’s eyes, Jun Jue kissed her eyelids. “Weiwei, after this morning, do you still doubt my stamina?”
Ruan Wei’s face flushed instantly at the memory of what had happened earlier.
“General, you’ve become so wicked,” Ruan Wei accused, her voice a mix of embarrassment and indignation as she lightly punched Jun Jue’s shoulder.
Jun Jue nodded, wrapping her hand around Ruan Wei’s fist.
“Weiwei, once you’ve recovered enough to walk steadily, you won’t need to drink blood anymore.”
Ruan Wei lowered her head, hesitating for a few seconds before murmuring, “Then… I’ll take just a little more.”
When the battle with the Chief Executive’s forces began, she might not be able to help, but at the very least, she couldn’t afford to be a burden.
Jun Jue tilted her head, offering her neck. As if afraid of hurting her, Ruan Wei kissed the spot first before gently piercing the skin with her small fangs, drinking with restraint.
The sensation of blood being drawn away little by little was indescribable. Jun Jue’s fingers tightened, eventually settling on Ruan Wei’s slender waist.
“Weiwei,” she called softly.
Ruan Wei stopped drinking and looked up in concern. “General, did I take too much?”
“No, Weiwei. You can keep going.”
Ruan Wei studied her for a few seconds. Seeing that Jun Jue’s complexion was normal, even rosy and healthy, she lowered her head to continue.
A trickle of blood escaped, trailing down Jun Jue’s neck. Jun Jue quietly felt its path until a cool touch lapped it away.
Jun Jue swallowed hard, her grip on Ruan Wei’s waist tightening.
After cleaning up the stray drop, Ruan Wei contentedly resumed drinking, oblivious to Jun Jue’s reaction.
Soon, Ruan Wei had her fill, licking her lips in satisfaction.
Jun Jue said, “Weiwei, now it’s my turn.”
