The General's Love Glitch - Chapter 36
The “strawberry” incident finally came to an end when Ruan Wei found an adorable band-aid to cover Jun Jue’s mark. The band-aid was blue, featuring the two princesses from Frozen.
“This was given to me by a child at the hospital. I wonder if there’s a new doctor taking care of them now,” Ruan Wei said with a hint of concern.
“There will be.”
“General, will I be able to return to work at the hospital in the future?”
“Once this matter is fully resolved.”
…
Meanwhile, Jiang Tang, who had been internally injured by her own sister, still had no idea how the “strawberry” on the general’s neck had come about. Seizing an opportunity, she asked her eldest sister Jiang Lan and youngest sister Jiang Li.
Both of them shook their heads, claiming ignorance.
“If you don’t know, then why did you stop me from asking?” Jiang Tang couldn’t understand.
Jiang Lan gave Jiang Tang a firm pat on the shoulder. “Not everything can be learned by asking.”
As she spoke, she pulled up a search on her personal terminal. In no time, the results appeared.
Jiang Tang’s eyes widened as she read, while Jiang Li exclaimed in amazement, “So it’s just a romantic gesture between couples!”
Jiang Lan closed the terminal. Jiang Tang protested, “Sis, I wasn’t finished reading yet.”
“Use your own terminal to look it up.”
…
Affected by magnetic field fluctuations, the Junchen warship finally arrived on Planet GR03 at dusk.
The hatch opened, revealing a two-meter drop to the planet’s surface. Jun Jue glanced down impassively.
Planet GR03 had managed to evade Federation detection for so long, its concealment was indeed thorough, and its nature unique.
“Weiwei, let’s go down,” Jun Jue said, turning her head only to find Ruan Wei hiding behind her.
“Madam, are you afraid of heights?” Jiang Lan asked. Jiang Tang stood beside her, not daring to ask anything reckless this time.
Ruan Wei shook her head. It wasn’t heights she feared, it was falling. She wasn’t confident she could land unscathed.
“Madam, I heard vampires can fly. Can’t you?” Jiang Li asked curiously.
“Theoretically, yes. But I’ve never tried or practiced it.”
Jiang Tang couldn’t resist chiming in either. “Madam, do you have wings? What color are they?”
“I don’t know,” Ruan Wei admitted, lowering her head. She was a vampire who didn’t even fully understand herself.
“You three go down first,” Jun Jue ordered.
Jiang Lan immediately led her sisters, leaping one after another from the sub-craft with effortless grace. For seasoned fighters like them, this height was nothing.
The soil on Planet GR03 was soft. Jiang Tang stomped on it a few times, then waved up enthusiastically. “Madam, the ground is cushy! Even if you fall, it won’t hurt!”
Even if you fall, it won’t hurt…
Jiang Lan looked at her sister with pitying eyes. Jiang Li remarked bluntly, “Second Sis, I think I finally understand why you’ve never been in a relationship.”
“Why?”
“Your mouth exists for no apparent reason.”
“…”
As the three sisters chatted on the ground, Ruan Wei stood at the hatch, feeling the gentle breeze against her face. The wind on Planet GR03 was as mild as its soil even the cold lacked bite.
“Weiwei, I’ll jump with you,” Jun Jue said, wrapping one arm around Ruan Wei’s waist. Ruan Wei, in turn, clung to her.
As they descended, Ruan Wei felt something stirring between her shoulder blades, as if struggling to break free.
Noticing her discomfort, Jun Jue asked softly, “Weiwei, what’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing.” Ruan Wei was just wondering if her wings were about to awaken, whether she’d be able to fly then, and what color her wings would be. Any color would do, as long as they weren’t black.
Jun Jue couldn’t fathom what was going through Ruan Wei’s little mind at the moment. She wrapped her arms around Ruan Wei and carefully checked her over, confirming she wasn’t injured.
Ruan Wei snapped out of her thoughts. “General, where should we go now? I can lead the way.”
Jun Jue surveyed their surroundings. “Planet GR03 has no guards or sentries.”
“Because GR03 has little connection with the outside world,” Ruan Wei explained.
“Then how do the people on this planet survive?” Jiang Tang asked curiously.
Ruan Wei told them that life on GR03 was somewhat like the medieval era in history. The people here were largely self-sufficient, living at a slower pace and lagging far behind the Federation. For example, there were no advanced medical pods, medical equipment and even knowledge were extremely limited. That was why they clung so desperately to vampires. Ordinary people who died were simply left to die, while those with power and status had the privilege of using the vampires imprisoned in the dungeons to heal themselves.
“In the place I escaped from, there are still six vampires: three brothers and three sisters. I don’t know how they’re doing now.” Ruan Wei’s eyes reddened as she spoke, her voice trembling with tears.
Jun Jue soothingly wrapped an arm around Ruan Wei’s shoulders. “Weiwei, we’ll go save them right away.”
After hearing Ruan Wei’s explanation, Jun Jue no longer had any reservations. Planet GR03 was even more backward than she had imagined, lacking any proper military force. She and the Jiang sisters, just the four of them would be more than enough. The small squad of the general’s personal guard on the shuttle wouldn’t even need to be deployed. Jun Jue ordered them to guard the shuttle and stand by.
…
Ruan Wei led Jun Jue and the Jiang sisters toward the underground prison. When they finally reached the entrance, they spotted two men. Ruan Wei stopped in her tracks and hid behind Jun Jue.
Jun Jue first turned to reassure Ruan Wei before glancing ahead. The two men at the prison entrance were a scar-faced man and a bald one.
“General, those two are in charge of guarding the vampires. On the day I met you, they were chasing me. They probably gave up when they saw me run into your battlefield.”
Jun Jue took Ruan Wei’s hand. Ruan Wei looked up at her pleadingly, still too afraid to step forward.
“Weiwei…” Jun Jue didn’t dare dwell on how Ruan Wei had endured those ten years of darkness, exploited and tortured.
The Jiang sisters stood silently nearby. Jiang Lan requested, “General, let the three of us go first and subdue those two.”
Jun Jue nodded.
Before Jiang Lan and her sisters set off, Ruan Wei added, “There aren’t just two of them. Inside the prison, there are several others specifically assigned to watch the vampires.”
“Don’t worry, Madam,” Jiang Tang said with a grin. “I could handle these guys all by myself with room to spare.”
“Still… be careful,” Ruan Wei insisted, unaware of their formidable combat skills. “They’re armed.”
The three sisters strode off with confident smiles.
Jun Jue held Ruan Wei close as they watched the trio sweep toward the prison like a gust of wind. The scar-faced man and the bald one were leaning on each other, smoking, their guns still holstered at their waists. Before they could even draw their weapons, Jiang Tang and Jiang Li subdued them, pinning them down under their military boots.
The scar-faced man spat out blood, his expression fierce. Though his mind was filled with curses, his mouth begged for mercy. “Spare us, sisters! Have mercy!”
Jiang Tang kicked Scarface. Seeing how frightened Madam had been earlier, there must be some dark history there.
One kick wasn’t enough to vent her anger. She hooked her military boot around the man’s waist, bent down, and yanked him up, slamming him against the wall with a loud bang. Scarface couldn’t tell whether it was his skull or the wall that had cracked.
All he felt was liquid trickling down the back of his head, flowing down his neck. He had no idea why this disaster had befallen him and wished he could just kneel and beg for mercy.
“Please, sister, spare me!”
The bald man, still pinned under Jiang Li’s foot, also started pleading. Jiang Li frowned, considering how to punish the man beneath her.
At that moment, Jun Jue walked over, holding Ruan Wei’s hand.
Scarface saw Ruan Wei first, his eyes widening in terror. “R-Ruan Wei? You’re Ruan Wei? You’re not dead? How is that possible-”
“What nonsense are you spouting?” Jiang Tang punched Scarface again. He closed his eyes in despair, the pain was unbearable.
Ruan Wei also raised a hand to cover her face slightly. She had overthought it. The people of Planet GR03 probably couldn’t even take on the Jiang sisters combined, let alone require the general to step in.
“Madam, do you want to drink some blood?” Jiang Tang flipped Scarface over. The back of his clothes was soaked with blood.
Jun Jue glanced at Ruan Wei. This time, her eyes didn’t turn red, and her little fangs didn’t show. Jun Jue guessed she had drunk enough yesterday and wasn’t hungry yet.
But the next moment, Ruan Wei shook her head in disgust. “No, I only drink the general’s blood.”
Jiang Tang: “…”
She felt like she’d just been force-fed dog food. The general and Madam always managed to flaunt their affection without even trying.
Jiang Tang flipped Scarface back over.
Meanwhile, the bald man under Jiang Li’s foot also started begging.
“Ruan Wei, I-I treated you decently back then, never bullied you. Please, say something, ask these sisters to spare me.”
Jiang Li found his whining irritating and twisted her ankle, grinding her boot into him. The bald man screeched until Jiang Tang snapped, “Shut up.”
“Madam, how do you want to punish these two?”
Ruan Wei let go of Jun Jue’s hand and walked over to the bald man first. Jiang Li lifted her foot, and Ruan Wei stepped on the other side of his face a few times, leaving faint boot prints.
“Too gentle, Madam,” Jiang Li said, shaking her head.
Jun Jue watched silently as Ruan Wei then walked up to Scarface and delivered a vicious kick to an unmentionable area.
The man passed out from the pain.
The Jiang sisters: !!!
After kicking him, Ruan Wei shook off the military boot on that foot and refused to wear it anymore. She balanced effortlessly on one foot, her bare foot resting atop the other.
Jun Jue walked over to her. Ruan Wei didn’t dare look at her.
“Feel better now, Weiwei?” Jun Jue asked softly.
Ruan Wei looked up in surprise. “General, you don’t think I was too… brutal just now?”
Jun Jue shook her head, then turned around and bent down slightly. “Weiwei, climb on.”
Ruan Wei froze for a moment before slowly wrapping her arms around Jun Jue’s neck and settling onto her back, ready to tattle.
“General, this man is a rapist who has assaulted several human girls, but as the prison boss, he’s never been punished. I’m a vampire, and his superiors needed to keep my bloodline pure to prevent my healing abilities from weakening, which is why I wasn’t harmed. But he didn’t completely spare me either. For those ten years, he would always… in front of me and a few vampire sisters…” Ruan Wei paused, unsure how to describe the man’s actions. She only remembered how disgusting it was.
Jun Jue’s brows furrowed deeply. “The Federation has castration laws. No evildoer will escape punishment.”
Beside them, Jiang Tang couldn’t resist adding a kick. The scar-faced man woke up in pain, writhing on the ground like a maggot. Jiang Li was about to kick the bald man too, but he quickly covered his head and pleaded, “I’m not a rapist, and I don’t have those kinds of… preferences.”
Jiang Li looked at Ruan Wei, who was still on the general’s back. After a moment’s thought, Ruan Wei said, “He’s not as bad as the scar-faced one.”
“Make him lead the way,” Jun Jue ordered. Jiang Li immediately grabbed the bald man and forced him to guide them forward.
Finally back on solid ground, the bald man nearly lost his nerve when he saw Jun Jue’s face.
Jun… Jue!
Standing before him, carrying the vampire Ruan Wei on her back, was Federation General Jun Jue!
This was too bizarre!
“General, are you here to take over Planet GR03?” the bald man fawned. “I can help you contact our planet’s ruler.”
“Enough nonsense. The general told you to lead the way, take us to the other vampires you’ve locked up in the prison,” Jiang Tang snapped.
The bald man shut his mouth and led them down into the dungeon.
The dungeon was dark and damp, the air thick with the stench of decay.
Tiny dust particles floated in the dim light. Just as Jun Jue was about to order Jiang Lan to provide illumination, Ruan Wei, still clinging to her back, activated the light function on her wrist computer.
Light spilled from behind her, illuminating the darkness.
For the first time, this dark place had light.
