- Chapter 11 - Cleansing the Eyes and the Soul
The content posted by Tian Jiu was simple, consisting of only a single sentence:
[I never tried to push anyone. I left the Ji family because I could no longer endure the domestic violence. You are not allowed to spread rumors anymore!]
On its own, the statement might have seemed a bit hollow, but what truly shocked everyone were the three pieces of video evidence attached to it.
Videos on Star-Net offer both a 2D viewing mode and a 3D projection mode. The latter is just like the dynamic photos Tian Jiu had seen. They’re fully immersive, as if the viewer were standing right there. Consequently, the public’s shock and fury only intensified once they saw what Tian Jiu had shared.
The first video was the surveillance footage from the night of Tian Jiu’s fall.
Two people stood side-by-side on the second-floor balcony. Even from behind, it was obvious they were Tian Jiu and Ji Kaile. They were both dressed in formal attire, confirming it was the night of the birthday banquet. After exchanging a few words, Ji Kaile turned back into the room, grabbed a drink from a table, and walked back toward the balcony.
However, when he was just a step away from Tian Jiu, he suddenly seemed to “trip,” lunging forward with force. The balcony railing only reached Tian Jiu’s waist. This sudden impact caused him to lose his balance instantly, and he pitched straight over the edge. Ji Kaile reached out as if to catch him, but he only managed to snag the expensive gemstone bracelet.
The string snapped, scattering beads everywhere, and Tian Jiu fell. The heavy thud in the video was heart-wrenching. Yet, Ji Kaile didn’t immediately check on his brother. Instead, he stood up straight, smoothed his clothes, and looked down at the broken bracelet in his hand, tossing the remaining beads onto the floor. Only after doing all this did he lean over the railing to look down. Two seconds later, he finally “reacted” as if terrified, turning and running downstairs in a panic.
This video completely corroborated Tian Jiu’s story. He was innocent from start to finish, while Ji Kaile’s behavior was chillingly suspicious.
[“Holy crap, Ji Kaile actually pushed him! Ji Yin was innocent this whole time!”]
[“My god, am I the only one who thinks Kaile’s reaction was terrifyingly cold?”]
[“His brother falls, and his first thought is to fix his clothes? Is he really the ‘good boy’ he pretends to be?”]
It wasn’t just bystanders and haters; even Ji Kaile’s own fans began to notice something was wrong. However, some willfully blind die-hards managed to find the most “logical” explanations.
[“Lele didn’t push him on purpose! He reached out to save him but missed. How can you blame him for that?”]
[“Cold? He was clearly paralyzed by shock! He probably didn’t even know what he was doing in that moment.”]
[“When my grandpa suddenly got sick, I froze too. It took me forever to call an ambulance. It’s a normal human reaction to trauma. Lele is so sweet, it’s only natural he’d be scared!”]
These excuses infuriated the general public.
[“What do you mean ‘don’t blame him’? Tripping on flat ground where there isn’t even a rug? He pushed him on purpose!”]
[“Watching him calmly wait for his brother to hit the ground before acting ‘panicked’ makes me want to vomit. Such mediocre acting; he’s the real ‘White Lotus’ here.”]

The two sides clashed, neither willing to back down. Many bystanders, repulsed by the fans’ toxicity, began to feel deeply for Tian Jiu. After seeing the second video, even more people sided with him. In this clip, the verbal and cold abuse from the Ji parents was revealed in all its ugliness.
Words like “disabled,” “useless,” and “scram” were part of their daily vocabulary when dealing with Tian Jiu. Occasionally, they would even push or pinch him. Often, when Tian Jiu tried to speak to them, they would act as if he didn’t exist, leaving his small figure looking heartbreakingly lonely.
While Ji Kaile appeared to include Tian Jiu in parties and social gatherings, Tian Jiu was always left shrinking awkwardly in the corner while Kaile basked in the spotlight. He was effectively using Tian Jiu as a foil to enhance his own image, subtly subjecting him to social violence and self-doubt. Yet, Kaile’s fans actually began praising his “beloved center” persona, arguing that his friends adored him so much they only had eyes for him.
This blatant disregard for the truth sent the public’s blood pressure skyrocketing. Faced with such brainless fans, rational arguments were useless.
The third video was the record of Tian Jiu signing the contract to leave the Ji family. Through their dialogue, it was clear that Tian Jiu had initiated the departure. It was not a case of him being “kicked out.”
These three videos caused a massive backlash against Ji Kaile and the Ji family. The more “sweet” and “victimized” Kaile had acted before, the harder he was mocked now. Rational fans began to unfollow him in droves, and many even turned into anti-fans. The Ji parents were even more severely condemned; for treating their biological son this way just because he was a “disabled” Omega without pheromones, the public deemed them unfit to be parents.
No one expected this move from Tian Jiu, let alone that the official website of the Omega Protection Organization would repost the update, sternly rebuking and warning the Ji family for their actions. As Omegas are naturally seen as vulnerable, Tian Jiu’s long-term suffering resonated deeply with other Omegas.
Within an hour, Tian Jiu’s Star-Net followers surged into the tens of millions. The comments under his post were filled with kind comforts and apologies for the previous misunderstandings. Meanwhile, the Ji family was drowning in hate mail, yet they didn’t dare issue a single clarification.
Because he had the support of Team AS’s PR department, Ji Kaile responded quickly with a long, handwritten apology letter. He claimed he was truly paralyzed by fear that night and didn’t know what he was doing. He also stated he was completely unaware of his parents’ behavior. He insisted he only wanted to include his brother so he would become more cheerful, and had no idea his brother was so unhappy or being abused. He finished by saying that while he couldn’t understand his parents’ actions, he couldn’t bring himself to condemn them because they were still his family.
The letter successfully soothed his die-hard fans. By positioning himself against his parents, he made it seem as though he truly hadn’t bullied Tian Jiu, causing some bystanders to remain sympathetic.
Seeing this, the Ji parents also wrote apologies and recorded videos of themselves weeping and repenting. However, no one bought their act.
“Xiao Yin, we don’t ask for your forgiveness, we only hope you live a happy life,” Ji Xianzhang said, wiping away an old tear. “Even though you’ve left home, if you face any difficulties, you must come to us. We will do our best to make up for the harm we’ve caused you over the years.”
Mrs. Ji sat beside him, crying so hard she could barely breathe. Watching this, Tian Jiu reached his limit. “Turn it off, Erguotou. It’s disgusting.”
“Understood,” Erguotou replied helpfully. “Would you like me to open one of Feng Wu’s match videos to cleanse your eyes and your soul?”
Tian Jiu was instantly mollified. “Yes, please.”

Due to the online storm, Ji Kaile had been locked in his room for over an hour, refusing to see anyone. Luo Yuan, who would usually be the first to rush in and comfort him, hadn’t shown up. Since returning from the university that morning, Luo Yuan had also shut himself in his room, skipping lunch entirely.
Left with no choice, the team captain went to find Luo Yuan first, hoping he could coax Kaile into a better state of mind. Today was a rest day, but intense training resumed tomorrow, and Kaile’s current state was unsuitable for practice.
Ever since returning from school, Luo Yuan had been searching for case studies on “post-injury personality changes” and “increased strength,” completely missing the news until the captain told him.
“So, Captain, you’re saying… Lele really did push Xiao Yin that night?” Luo Yuan asked in disbelief.
While he previously found it hard to believe that someone as submissive as Ji Yin would frame Kaile, both Kaile and Mrs. Ji had told him the same story, so he had believed them. In fact, he had secretly felt quite smug, thinking Ji Yin had framed Kaile out of jealousy over his own charms.
But now, the truth was the other way around?
The captain pulled up the videos. “See for yourself.”
Luo Yuan’s brow furrowed deeper as he watched. Once the videos finished, he went to knock on Ji Kaile’s door. Hearing Luo Yuan’s voice, Kaile finally opened it.
Luo Yuan entered and closed the door behind him. Seeing Kaile’s swollen, tear-streaked eyes and dejected posture, his heart immediately softened. The “interrogation” he had planned was swallowed back down and replaced with a gentle comfort.
“There now, I know you didn’t mean it. Don’t cry anymore.”
Ji Kaile began to sob again, causing Luo Yuan to pull him into a hug.
“Brother Luo Yuan, I really didn’t mean to. I truly wanted to include my brother,” Kaile choked out. “But everyone is calling me calculating and evil.”
Luo Yuan patted his back, his voice tender. “They’re just jealous of you. Don’t cry, Lele. I’ll have someone mute all those accounts that are attacking you right now.”
His family had deep ties with Star-Net; such a small request was just a phone call away.
“Thank you, Brother Luo Yuan. You’re so good to me.” Ji Kaile buried his face in Luo Yuan’s shoulder. While his words were soft, his eyes were filled with a terrifying, poisonous malice.
It’s all that loser Ji Yin’s fault!
Sooner or later, I’ll make sure he dies in the Lower District!
