The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 8
Unfortunately, the date location was a room specially arranged by the production team. The room was decorated very warmly, even with some beautiful dolls placed around.
As soon as Xu Youyan entered, she began looking around. Bo Zhouchen pulled out a chair for her.
“There’s even steak!”
Xu Youyan’s gaze fell on the table. Usually, Peng Ding wouldn’t let her eat such things, but today, since they were filming the show, she could finally indulge a little.
“Do you like it?”
Bo Zhouchen chuckled, reaching out to fiddle with the white roses on the table. Her fingers were slender and elegant, like scallion stalks or delicate bamboo. If there were a ranking for the most beautiful hands in the entertainment industry, Bo Zhouchen would undoubtedly be on the list. Even Xu Youyan had to admit that she truly had a pair of exquisite hands.
Of course, it wasn’t just her hands.
“I like it, but it’s a shame I can’t eat too much.”
For the sake of the steak, Xu Youyan temporarily forgave Bo Zhouchen for making her sleep in a small tent. She cut a small piece of steak with her knife and fork and happily began to savor it.
The date was relatively successful. The two merely chatted about trivial matters, as they still had to pretend not to be too familiar in front of the camera.
However, on the way back, Xu Youyan kept holding her stomach, clearly having eaten a bit too much. With such delicious food in front of her, it was hard to control herself, especially since she had a small appetite.
“Come here.”
Bo Zhouchen was quite observant. Brushing aside the stray hairs on her forehead, she noticed Xu Youyan’s discomfort from overeating. She beckoned, and Xu Youyan jogged over.
“What’s up?”
Bo Zhouchen didn’t say anything, merely taking Xu Youyan’s wrist and leading her into a nearby alley. The cameraman hesitated for a moment, considering whether to follow, but Cheng Zhun and Su Cha quickly stepped in to stop him.
“Private matters, no need to film,” Cheng Zhun said, knowing full well what Bo Yinghou was likely up to probably trying to get intimate with Xu Youyan again. They were always like that.
However, Cheng Zhun was wrong this time.
Bo Zhouchen simply reached out and pressed her fingers against Xu Youyan’s abdomen. Before she could make any further moves, Xu Youyan immediately covered her stomach, guarding against Bo Zhouchen as if she were a thief.
“What are you doing?”
“We’re filming a variety show! Don’t even think about taking advantage of me!”
Bo Zhouchen smiled and moved closer.
“Yanyan, last night, you were the one who was more proactive.”
This remark reminded Xu Youyan of her dream a woman with bare feet sitting on a locust tree adorned with white blossoms, her crimson robes fluttering in the wind, bells hanging from her waist.
“Yanyan.”
The woman called out to her, her fingers gently brushing against Xu Youyan’s cheek. Somehow, Xu Youyan felt herself being drawn in.
“Don’t bring that up.”
Xu Youyan lowered her head in embarrassment. Why did Bo Zhouchen make her sound like some kind of rogue?
“Alright, I won’t mention it.”
Bo Zhouchen moved even closer, studying Xu Youyan’s expression the awkward posture, the guilty little gestures it was all exactly the same as before. But why had her personality changed so drastically? It might be best to consult a doctor privately first.
Bo Zhouchen felt a twinge of worry, concerned that it might be a precursor to some mental health issue.
Her fingers gently pressed on the acupoints of Xu Youyan’s abdomen. Before Xu Youyan could even voice her confusion, she felt the bloating and discomfort in her stomach ease.
“So you were…”
Bo Zhoucheng revealed a smile, like the melting of spring snow. If it were anyone else, it would be hard to see such a smile, but for Xu Youyan, Bo Zhoucheng’s smiles were like the cheapest goods in a wholesale market easily obtained.
“If you’re too full, just rub your stomach a bit.”
Bo Zhoucheng patiently pressed the acupoints, and Xu Youyan felt ashamed for having thought so poorly of her just moments before. In reality… aside from having a sharp tongue, Bo Zhoucheng didn’t have many other flaws.
Xu Youyan lifted her eyes and, for the first time, carefully examined the person in front of her. Bo Zhoucheng’s features were bold and spirited; people often said those with such looks were upright and unyielding. Xu Youyan thought so too. Her only flaw was her sharp tongue, but now, even that seemed to have vanished.
Oh no, this is terrible,
Xu Youyan felt her heart racing wildly. She thought to herself, Am I really this cheap? To dislike someone one moment and like them the next, what kind of person does that make me? At the very least, I should hold out a little longer.
Only when her stomach felt less bloated did the two of them emerge from the alley. Bo Zhoucheng still wore that same deadpan expression no smile, no words. In contrast, Xu Youyan’s ears were tinged with red, and her face was flushed as if she had accidentally gotten drunk.
Cheng Zhun and Su Cha exchanged glances, their minds wandering to the far ends of the earth. Could it be that Bo, the award-winning actress, had already done something to her in the alley?
Cheng Zhun didn’t dare to imagine further. What if there were paparazzi around?
Su Cha didn’t dare to comment on Bo Zhoucheng, after all, she was her boss. Bo Zhoucheng ran her own personal studio and wasn’t signed to any agency, but her background was solid. Even the biggest entertainment companies had to make way for her.
The photographers, of course, didn’t dare to say much either. If this news got out, none of them would be able to survive in the industry. Who would have thought that the seemingly aloof and conservative Bo Zhoucheng could be so passionate in private? It was truly surprising.
When they returned, the group of guests were gathered in the backyard of the homestay, burning firewood. The crackling of the wood filled the air as Mo Tian strummed his guitar, showing off his skills in front of everyone. His folk songs carried a weathered, melancholic tone, catching the attention of two female guests.
After all, this was a dating show. Celebrities were just here to play their parts they couldn’t get too intimate. But it was different for the non-celebrities. Aside from Bo Zhoucheng and Xu Youyan, there was only one newcomer from the entertainment industry. The remaining two women were ordinary civilians, one a highly educated Ph.D., the other a flower shop owner. Both could be considered successful in their own right.
Xu Youyan, who loved lively atmospheres, had hit it off well with the newcomer from the entertainment industry, Zheng Ya. So she sat down next to her.
As soon as Mo Tian saw them arrive, he immediately switched to a love song.
“My beloved girl.”
“Don’t run away from my love,”

But just then, Bo Zhoucheng also sat down beside her.
“Hello, Teacher Bo!”
Zheng Ya was a bit flustered and quickly greeted her. Bo Zhoucheng merely nodded, her expression still cold and devoid of any emotion, which made Zheng Ya feel somewhat awkward.
“Don’t mind her, she always has that deadpan face.”
Xu Youyan reached out and patted Zheng Ya, whispering quietly so the microphone wouldn’t pick it up.
“Teacher Xu, Teacher Bo is right here.”
Zheng Ya felt even more awkward.
Bo Zhoucheng pretended not to hear, picked up a deep red tangerine, and placed it beside the fire. She folded a small bowl out of tin foil.
Soon, the tangerine peel burst open, revealing the golden flesh inside, and a faint, sweet citrus aroma filled the air.
The roasted tangerine had a richer flavor, carrying a hint of smokiness from the fire.
Bo Zhoucheng let the tangerine cool, patiently peeled it clean, and handed it to Xu Youyan.
“Want to try?”
Her gentle smile was completely different from the way she had treated Zheng Ya earlier, leaving Zheng Ya momentarily stunned.
Xu Youyan took the tangerine, leaning close to Bo Zhoucheng as she issued a verbal warning.
“If you keep being this biased, everyone will know we had something going on even before the dating show.”
