The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 55
Seeing Xu Youyan pursing her lips, still somewhat unhappy, Bo Zhoucheng had no choice but to resort to her ultimate move. She grabbed the other’s wrist and pulled her forward abruptly. Caught off guard, Xu Youyan stumbled into her arms, embraced fully.
“Alright, don’t be upset anymore.”
“I didn’t go to see him.”
Xu Youyan lowered her head, about to speak, when her lips were suddenly sealed by Bo Zhoucheng’s. Bo Zhoucheng was in no hurry; instead, her movements were gentle and slow, as if savoring a soft, bouncy pudding. Xu Youyan couldn’t help but feel that Bo Zhoucheng was being a bit sly. She wanted to push her away but ultimately couldn’t resist the other’s advances, slowly sinking into the moment.
It wasn’t until she was nearly breathless that Bo Zhoucheng finally released her. She reached out to wipe the traces from the corner of Xu Youyan’s lips and gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
“Tonight, I’ve booked a hotel with an ocean view. I’ll take you there after filming, okay?”
Bo Zhoucheng glanced at her phone. It was almost time to start filming, and she needed to get ready.
Xu Youyan: “…”
Why did she get the feeling that this hotel wasn’t exactly, proper?
But then again, the thought that Bo Zhoucheng still cared so much about her made the earlier unpleasantness at the door vanish like smoke in the wind.
Bo Zhoucheng double-checked her makeup and reapplied her smudged lipstick before heading over to the director.
She took off her heavy coat, revealing a white shirt underneath her costume, the uniform the female lead wore at the research institute. Su Cha helped Bo Zhoucheng into her lab coat while other staff members pinned on the female lead’s name tag. Bo Zhoucheng put on her glasses, completing her pre-filming preparations.
She only had one scene to shoot, but it was particularly challenging because it took place underwater. The male lead had to wear a heavy suit and was suspended by wires.
“It’s definitely going to be freezing in the water today.”
Xu Youyan hugged Bo Zhoucheng’s discarded coat, which still retained her warmth. The faint heat was just enough to warm her hands.
“And it’s dangerous.”
Cheng Zhun also frowned as they heard a “splash” the sound of someone entering the water.
Bo Zhoucheng had already jumped in, followed closely by the male lead in his bulky suit. Water splashed inside the glass tank, which, though not particularly large, was sufficient for the shoot.
The filming went smoothly, except for a minor issue during the final take: the male lead’s entry into the water in the suit lacked elegance, no matter how they tried. So, a retake was necessary.
Bo Zhoucheng accompanied him through several retakes. By the end, her body heat was rapidly dissipating, and her lips had turned pale.
The moment the shoot ended, Xu Youyan practically sprinted over.
However, someone else was faster. Zhou Lianghui took off his own coat and draped it over Bo Zhoucheng.
“Are you okay? I felt so bad watching you film for so long.”
Zhou Lianghui frowned, having finally broken through the assistants’ attempts to stop him. He had gone to great lengths just to see Bo Zhoucheng. She looked up at him, shook her head, and handed the coat back to him.
Seizing the opportunity, Xu Youyan pulled Bo Zhoucheng into her arms, wrapping her tightly in the coat Bo Zhoucheng had just given her.
“You should go back.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s lips were pale, and she looked utterly pitiful, but her words were merciless.
“Zhoucheng.”
Zhou Lianghui’s eyes held a trace of pitiful confusion. He couldn’t understand he had only been abroad for a short while, so why was Bo Zhoucheng treating him so coldly?
“I’ve said it before, there’s no possibility between us anymore.”
“Not even as friends?”
Zhou Lianghui suppressed his voice, his eyes bloodshot and filled with hatred as he glared at Xu Youyan.
Xu Youyan was about to glare back when someone stepped in front of her, shielding her.
“Unless you’re willing to just be friends.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s voice was cold and detached.
The drama unfolding among the trio left the entire film crew holding their breath, not daring to make a sound.
No one expected the famously aloof and detached actress Bo to get caught up in such an unnecessary emotional conflict.
“I…”
Zhou Lianghui choked up, unsure of what to say.
He truly didn’t want to settle for just friendship. Bo Zhoucheng was too sharp, too perceptive she could see right through him in an instant.
“Let’s go, Yanyan.”
Bo Zhoucheng leaned heavily against Xu Youyan’s shoulder. After filming that scene, she was so chilled she had little strength left and had to be supported, appearing particularly fragile.
Bo Zhoucheng needed to change into dry clothes in the dressing room before heading back to the hotel. Walking around in waterlogged clothes would make it impossible to move comfortably.
In this early autumn season, the nighttime water was bitingly cold.
Xu Youyan could hardly imagine what it felt like to act while submerged in such cold water.
If it were her, she would have screamed the moment her toes touched the water.
Clearly, she was still better suited for the path of a popular starlet.
Bo Zhoucheng raised her hands, slowly unbuttoning her clothes. Perhaps because her limbs were stiff from the cold, her movements were sluggish.
Xu Youyan took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart and reminding herself not to let her thoughts wander.
She reached out to help Bo Zhoucheng unbutton her shirt, her fingers brushing against cold, damp fabric.
“Thank you.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s nose was red from the cold, and she shivered as she spoke her thanks.
“Don’t mention it. You don’t need to thank me.”
After all, Bo Zhoucheng had helped her before without expecting any thanks.
Bo Zhoucheng simply nodded, letting Xu Youyan assist her with changing.
Honestly, the shirt was the easiest part.
When Xu Youyan’s fingers brushed against Bo Zhoucheng’s belt, she bit her tongue nervously.
Even though the two of them had been intimate many times before,
most of those moments had been initiated by Bo Zhoucheng. Xu Youyan often found herself overwhelmed before she could even react.
“Yanyan, are you feeling shy?”
Bo Zhoucheng keenly noticed Xu Youyan’s embarrassment and chuckled softly.
She reached down and undid the belt herself.
“You’re so shameless!”
Xu Youyan covered her eyes with her hands, turning away, her ears flushed bright red.
Bo Zhoucheng hurried to finish changing; if she delayed any longer, she was sure to catch a cold by tomorrow.
Still, after all these years together,
why was Yanyan suddenly acting so bashful again?
Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t quite figure out Xu Youyan’s thoughts. They’d even consulted a doctor, but no issues were found.
Before, Xu Youyan’s gaze had been as intense as a tiger eyeing its prey. Now, she was blushing and acting shy.
Once she was dressed, Bo Zhoucheng led the way to her van.
Considering she’d just been in the water, the driver had turned up the heat inside. Xu Youyan had to unzip her jacket a little to let some of the excess warmth escape.
Out of habit, Xu Youyan reached out, holding Bo Zhoucheng’s hand as she always did when they rode together.
Because it felt good, she could play with it endlessly.
But today, as soon as she touched it, it felt like touching a block of ice.
“So cold~”
Xu Youyan said this but didn’t let go. Instead, she held on tightly.
“If you’re afraid of the cold, why not let go?”
Bo Zhouchen was a bit puzzled.
“I’ll warm it for you.”
Xu Youyan said, placing the back of her hand against her own neck.
Even though her whole body was trembling from the cold, she didn’t want to let go because it pained her to do so.
