The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 56
By the time they returned to the hotel, the sky had already darkened. Because the car’s heater had been running at full blast, Bo Zhoucheng’s body gradually began to warm up. Her palms were no longer as icy cold as before.
Xu Youyan led her into the hotel. Bo Zhoucheng had booked the most luxurious suite, and a staff member escorted the two of them there. This time, Xu Youyan wasn’t wearing a mask, and the hotel receptionist clearly recognized her. But she said nothing, this was the most basic professional etiquette expected of a high-end hotel attendant, after all, as the guests staying in the suites were often people of status.
Once inside the room, Xu Youyan closed the door. Bo Zhoucheng was still feeling cold, so a hot bath would be best. Xu Youyan hurriedly went to turn on the hot water. Meanwhile, Bo Zhoucheng picked out a set of pajamas and walked into the bathroom, leaning halfway against the doorframe. Her expression was soft, yet inexplicably alluring.
“Yanyan, are you going to bathe with me?” Bo Zhoucheng asked, though she wasn’t sure if Xu Youyan would get shy and flee like a startled rabbit.
“Sure,” Xu Youyan replied without hesitation.
Bo Zhoucheng blinked, caught off guard, before being pulled into the bathtub. With a splash, both of them tumbled into the perfectly warm water. Xu Youyan looked down at Bo Zhoucheng from above.
“Are you still cold now?”
Even though she was the one making such seductive moves, Xu Youyan always loved asking questions like this. Suppressing her racing heart, Bo Zhoucheng let out a soft laugh.
“Not anymore. With you warming me up, how could I be cold?”
With that, she cast aside all reservations. Holding Xu Youyan by the waist, Bo Zhoucheng leaned in to kiss those cherry-pink lips. Their breaths intertwined, wrapping them in intimacy.
Back when Xu Youyan acted in idol dramas, she never understood why audiences got so excited over close-contact scenes. It wasn’t until she became the protagonist herself that she gained a deeper understanding because the sensation, the feeling, was truly intoxicating.
Who knows how much time passed before Xu Youyan felt completely exhausted. Lifting a hand to rest on Bo Zhoucheng’s shoulder, she murmured, “I’m so sleepy.”
“Let’s go back to bed,” Bo Zhoucheng said, nodding. After carefully drying Xu Youyan off, she carried her back to the bed.
Even though Bo Zhoucheng had been filming all day and should have been the more exhausted one, she was more than willing to indulge Xu Youyan unconditionally, without a single word of complaint.
Worn out from the day, Xu Youyan fell asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow.
When Bo Zhoucheng woke up, she felt someone pinching her nose. Opening her eyes, she met Xu Youyan’s dark pupils.
“Don’t mess around. Yanyan,” Bo Zhoucheng said, yawning as she glanced out the window. The seaside was still dim, the sun not yet risen. If they waited another hour, they might catch the sunrise over the ocean.
“I have to go,” Xu Youyan said. She needed to join the film crew, and the shooting location wasn’t even in this city, so she had to leave early. Despite the reluctance in her heart, they had no choice but to part.
“Mm, take care,” Bo Zhoucheng replied softly. Though she, too, was reluctant to see her go, she wasn’t very good at expressing it. Wrapping her arms around Xu Youyan’s waist, she patted her gently, whispering words of farewell.
“I don’t want to leave you,” Xu Youyan lowered her head, their cheeks pressing together, sharing a faint warmth.
Especially with Zhou Lianghui still in the picture, Xu Youyan was even more unwilling to be apart from Bo Zhoucheng.
“I can’t bear to part with you either, but we still have work to do.”
Bo Zhoucheng had grown accustomed to Xu Youyan’s clingy behavior, patting her back as her fingers glided over the smooth silk of the pajamas.
It was almost like petting a cat.
“Then you have to be careful around Zhou Lianghui.”
Xu Youyan knew she couldn’t linger any longer if she did, she’d miss her flight.
“I know.”
Bo Zhoucheng nodded, thinking that last night’s incident might have left Youyan feeling uneasy.
But for now, she didn’t have a better solution. Breaking off the engagement wasn’t easy, especially since Zhou’s father wasn’t very willing.
Just before leaving, Xu Youyan’s eyes softened with reluctance.
She lowered her head and pressed her warm lips to the corner of Bo Zhoucheng’s mouth.
“I’ve stamped my mark.”
“You’re not allowed to let him touch you.”
Bo Zhoucheng let out a soft, suppressed laugh, her chest trembling with the effort.
“I know.”
“Youyan.”
After saying goodbye to Bo Zhoucheng, Xu Youyan rushed to the airport, barely making it in time for boarding.
Before shooting the endorsement ad, Xu Youyan had visited the set a few times for costume fittings and makeup tests.
The results were quite good, and the director was pleased with her acting skills were stronger than her peers’, and she was more cooperative.
However, on set, Xu Youyan discovered someone she hadn’t expected to see.
“Zheng Ya, what are you doing here?”
The opening ceremony had just concluded, and the crew was still organizing equipment. Amid the bustling crowd, Xu Youyan spotted Zheng Ya at a glance.
Zheng Ya seemed to be playing a minor role her costume wasn’t extravagant, and during the incense-offering ritual of the opening ceremony, she had stood in the back.
“Here to film, of course.”
Seeing Xu Youyan greet her, Zheng Ya smiled and walked over.
Xu Youyan, as if reuniting with an old friend, hooked her arm through Zheng Ya’s and held it tightly.
“Why didn’t you come find me? If I hadn’t seen you just now, I wouldn’t have known you were acting in this drama.”
Zheng Ya laughed sheepishly.
“You’re the lead actress, how could I bother you?”
Xu Youyan shook her head. Truth be told, she hadn’t fought for the lead role.
“What’s there to be embarrassed about?” We’re friends.”
Since traveling ten years into the future, Xu Youyan had lost touch with her old girlfriends. Meeting someone new now naturally made her happy.
After the opening ceremony, the crew began setting up the scene. It seemed the first shoot wouldn’t happen that day, they’d have to wait until tomorrow.
Xu Youyan decided to change out of her costume and take Zheng Ya out.
“Old friends reuniting my treat.”
Xu Youyan wasn’t very familiar with the rest of the crew, except for Zheng Ya.
Now, she finally understood the feeling described in the poem about meeting an old acquaintance in a foreign land.
“Is that really okay?”
Skipping out to have fun on the first day of filming didn’t sound very reliable.
“What’s wrong with it? We just have to be careful not to get caught by paparazzi.”
Unable to resist, Zheng Ya was eventually dragged along. Little did she know, this one outing would open a Pandora’s box.
Xu Youyan began pulling her out whenever she had free time, and their relationship grew increasingly close. Zheng Ya also learned more about the dynamics and ambiguities between Xu Youyan and Bo Zhoucheng.
Recalling Bo Zhoucheng’s biased behavior on the variety show, Zheng Ya couldn’t help but feel emotional, Xu Youyan had truly found someone who loved her.
Such deep affection is exceedingly rare in the entertainment industry.
“It’s just a pity she’s already engaged.”
This was, who knows ,how many times they had gathered outside. Xu Youyan, utterly drunk, clutched her wine glass and finally could no longer suppress the grievances in her heart, bursting into tears.
