- Chapter 49 - Ice Cream Isn’t as Sweet as You
The travel destination Bo Zhoucheng had in mind definitely couldn’t be within the country it was too easy to get photographed, which wouldn’t be good for anyone. She had previously chosen a mountainous area with a tourist town at the foot of the mountain, offering everything one could need.
Compared to bustling streets adorned with neon signs, Bo Zhoucheng still preferred places with fewer people. As a celebrity, deliberately going to crowded places was an unwise decision, especially since Bo Zhoucheng was extremely famous and had a certain level of influence abroad as well.
“Is it just the two of us this time?”
Xu Youyan felt the vibration of the plane taking off and turned her head.
“Yes, unless you want to bring Cheng Zhun along?”
Bo Zhoucheng also looked into her eyes, a hint of laughter in her gaze.
“I don’t mind bringing an extra third wheel.”
Xu Youyan shook her head and leaned in closer, momentarily forgetting the unpleasantness of the past few days.
“Forget it.”
Xu Youyan decided not to dwell on it and leaned in completely. The first-class cabin was exceptionally comfortable not too many people and not too noisy.
“It’s so nice to go out with you.”
Xu Youyan reached out and slowly held Bo Zhoucheng’s hand. Bo Zhoucheng’s hands were beautiful, even more so than those of professional hand models. The veins were slightly prominent, and there were only a few faint calluses remnants of years of filming.
“Then let’s go out more often in the future. We’re not in our twenties anymore; there’s no need to work ourselves to the bone every day. You’re the most important.”
Xu Youyan: “…”
She really wanted to say that she was only twenty, but in the end, she just opened her mouth slightly without arguing.
They didn’t arrive until evening. The car Bo Zhoucheng had arranged was already waiting by the airport, and the two of them got in directly. The car sped along until it reached the town below the villa. Bo Zhoucheng opened the car door and stepped out.
“Aren’t we going to the villa?”
Xu Youyan was a bit puzzled but followed her out.
“Not yet, we’ll go later.”
Bo Zhoucheng led her forward until they reached a corner at the end of the street, where an ice cream shop stood.
“Do you like it?”
Bo Zhoucheng tilted her head and asked. Xu Youyan’s eyes immediately lit up, and she pulled Bo Zhoucheng toward the shop.
She chose her favorite ice cream, sprinkled with matcha powder, which looked incredibly appetizing.
“I love it.”
Xu Youyan beamed, eagerly taking a bite. The cool, sweet flavor spread through her mouth.
Just as she was about to take a second bite, a hand snatched the ice cream away.
“Stop, no more.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s voice was slightly stern. If Xu Youyan took another bite, her figure management would be in jeopardy.
“Stingy.”
Xu Youyan was still craving more; her lips seemed to still carry the sweet taste of the matcha ice cream.
“Let me have one more bite.”
She stood on her tiptoes, ignoring Bo Zhoucheng’s resistance, and grabbed her wrist, trying to bite the ice cream.
Bo Zhoucheng, of course, wouldn’t let her have her way. She tilted her wrist, moving the ice cream out of reach.
“You!”
The almost-successful little rabbit frowned, as if all her fur was about to bristle.
“Yanyan, you can’t eat too much.”
“Unless you exercise every morning like I do, you have to control your cravings.”
Bo Zhoucheng pressed a finger to her lips, her tone gentle. Compared to other female celebrities who could only eat boiled vegetables, Xu Youyan was actually quite fortunate.
Xu Youyan nodded, looking somewhat dejected.
“I know.”
Bo Zhoucheng patted her shoulder and was about to lead her back to the car when Xu Youyan suddenly spun around abruptly.
Caught off guard, Bo Zhoucheng was pressed against the cool red brick wall. Because they had lingered for too long, the matcha ice cream had started to melt.
The pale green creamy mixture trickled through their fingers, sticky and messy.
“Yanyan, I told you.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s words were left unfinished, scattered in the wind. Xu Youyan’s hair was fine and soft, brushing against her face without any discomfort.
“I didn’t eat the ice cream.”
Xu Youyan’s voice was muffled, but she could taste the flavor of matcha ice cream on the other’s lips.
Bo Zhoucheng’s fingers slowly tightened. She had initially intended to push Xu Youyan away, but in the end, she closed her eyes, allowing the matcha ice cream to melt.
And allowing her heart to melt along with it.
On the way back, Xu Youyan noticed a faint green stain on Bo Zhoucheng’s clothes, clearly left by the nearly melted ice cream.
“I…”
Xu Youyan pursed her lips, hesitating for a long moment before finally apologizing.
“I shouldn’t have been so excessive just now.”
In truth, it was because the moment had lasted too long enough for the ice cream to melt.
“It’s fine.”
“I’m not angry with you.”
Bo Zhoucheng slowly wiped the stain on her blouse with a tissue. Her hands were also sticky, and she was carefully cleaning them.
Once in the car, Xu Youyan pulled out a wet wipe from her bag.
“Give me your hand.”
Xu Youyan was surprisingly patient. Honestly, just a few months ago, she would never have imagined herself patiently tending to someone else.
Bo Zhoucheng extended her hand. In the end, the matcha ice cream had melted so much that only a little was left, which she had eaten.
Her hands were sticky after all, ice cream is full of sugar and such, so it was no surprise.
Xu Youyan wiped them meticulously with the wet wipe.
Bo Zhoucheng’s hands were beautiful, without a single scar. Xu Youyan’s mind began to wander, thinking of things she shouldn’t.
Those hands were also strong when they held her legs.
“Yanyan?”
Just as her thoughts drifted far away, Bo Zhoucheng leaned in and called her name softly once or twice.
Xu Youyan snapped back to reality.
“Ahem.”
She cleared her throat lightly to cover her embarrassment and resumed wiping Bo Zhoucheng’s fingers.
After finishing, she wiped the stain off the clothes as well, but the blouse was still soiled and would need to be changed later.
“Will it wash out?”
Xu Youyan stared at the vibrant pale green stain on the white blouse, feeling guilty.
“It’s not motor oil of course it’ll wash out.”
Bo Zhoucheng didn’t mind. Besides, it was just a piece of clothing, not worth much.
In the midst of their conversation, the car came to a stop, arriving at the place Bo Zhoucheng was temporarily renting.
The lights were on inside. Before renting, Bo Zhoucheng had hired someone to clean thoroughly and even bought fresh ingredients to stock the refrigerator.
Tonight’s dinner would be prepared by her.
The driver carried the luggage, walking behind the two of them. Bo Zhoucheng pushed the door open, revealing a warmly decorated living room with cedar wood floors and a thick, beautifully patterned rug spread across it.
The temperature inside was just right. Xu Youyan only had time to glance around briefly before taking the suitcase from the driver.
“Let’s change your clothes first.”
She was still thinking about the shirt she had stained. Bo Zhouchen obediently nodded.
Xu Youyan pulled out a light blue shirt and handed it to her. Without any complaints, Bo Zhouchen took it and went into the room to change.
