The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 50
After the two finished their meal, the night gradually deepened. The moon was obscured by dark clouds, and the mountains and forests were pitch black, making it impossible to see anything.
Xu Youyan wasn’t particularly sleepy yet. She wandered around the house a few times and found herself feeling a bit bored.
“Want to watch TV?”
Bo Zhoucheng shook her head and pulled out a deck of cards from her suitcase. Her slender hands moved as if playing with building blocks, and the cards were swiftly shuffled twice between her fingertips.
“Let’s play something else.”
Xu Youyan widened her eyes in surprise, never expecting Bo Zhoucheng to know how to play cards.
“But there are only two of us.”
Xu Youyan glanced around but couldn’t find anyone else, feeling somewhat puzzled.
“Two is enough.”
Bo Zhoucheng sat on the sofa, crossing her legs. Outside the window, rain had begun to fall at some point, tapping against the glass, creating a sense that only the indoors was warm and cozy.
Bo Zhoucheng was wearing long pants, but a glimpse of her slender, pale ankles peeked out from the hem of her trousers.
It was particularly alluring.
Xu Youyan sometimes felt that this person did it on purpose. Taking a few deep breaths, she sat down on the other side of the sofa.
“Let’s draw cards, one at random.”
“Whoever has the higher card gets to decide.”
“They can ask the other to do anything.”
This rule was something Bo Zhoucheng had made up herself, mainly because most card games weren’t suitable for just two people.
So she casually modified the rules.
“This makes it more interesting.”
A competitive spark ignited in Xu Youyan’s eyes, and she began fantasizing about what she could make Bo Zhoucheng do.
The first round of drawing cards began quickly. Xu Youyan hesitated for a long time before picking a card and slowly revealing it.
Five of Hearts.
Xu Youyan pursed her lips her chances of winning were practically zero.
Sure enough, she heard the other person chuckle softly. Bo Zhoucheng held up her card, which displayed a large number nine.
“I win.”
Xu Youyan tossed her card aside. The smooth surface of the playing card slid far across the glass coffee table.
“Go ahead.”
She was a good sport and had no objections.
Bo Zhoucheng’s gaze deepened. After thinking for a long time, she asked a question so innocent it could hardly be more so.
“I’ve always wanted to ask, Yan Yan, back when I treated you so poorly, how could you still like me? If it were me.”
Bo Zhoucheng tightly gripped her card. If it were her, she wouldn’t have persisted in the face of coldness she wouldn’t do something so thankless.
Xu Youyan was momentarily stunned, and a bad feeling began to rise in her heart. She had no idea how to answer this.
“Actually, you weren’t that harsh. It’s just your personality.”
Xu Youyan moved closer. Bo Zhoucheng was naturally cold and distant with people she wasn’t close to, so she understood.
“If you like someone but retreat because of their attitude, then it can’t really be called liking.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s face was cupped in Xu Youyan’s hands, and the card slipped from her fingers. Bo Zhoucheng let out a soft laugh, her palm resting on the other’s waist.
“I knew it.”
“Yan Yan, you’re not that shallow.”
Xu Youyan:
Actually, she was quite shallow, but to make the person holding her happy, a little lie didn’t matter.
“Are we still playing?”
After being held like this for a while, Xu Youyan felt her waist growing sore. Bo Zhoucheng let go apologetically, picked up the discarded cards, and began shuffling them again.
“How are you so good at shuffling cards?”
Xu Youyan rested her cheek on one hand, watching the white cards flutter between Bo Zhoucheng’s fingertips.
“I learned it for a movie before.”
Bo Zhoucheng finished shuffling and began drawing cards again.
This time, it seemed Lady Luck favored Xu Youyan. She flipped a card to reveal a King a fairly high value.
A smug smile curled at the corners of her lips, as if even her worries couldn’t suppress her delight.
With just one glance, Bo Zhoucheng knew Youyan had drawn a high card. She looked down at the Joker in her hand, hesitated for a moment, and then, without anyone noticing, drew another card this time a seven.
Bo Zhoucheng’s card-switching move went almost completely undetected another skill she’d picked up for a film. After all, in any movie involving card games, there’s always a cheating scene.
“I win!”
When she saw that black seven, Xu Youyan was so thrilled she nearly jumped for joy, like snagging her favorite plush toy from a claw machine.
Pure joy radiated from her entire being.
“What do you want me to do?”
Bo Zhoucheng’s voice was gentle as she spoke, and only then did Xu Youyan snap back to reality.
A mischievous idea sparked in her mind. She remembered how, in all the movies she’d seen, Bo Zhoucheng always carried an air of aloof elegance like an immortal standing above the clouds.
Ethereal and untouchable, someone to be admired from afar.
But now, this very person was in her hands, entirely at her mercy.
Xu Youyan stood up, dashed over to the vanity, grabbed her lipstick, swiped it lightly over her lips, and pressed them together.
“Bo Zhoucheng, you’re going to end up with a painted face!”
With a triumphant, raised-eyebrow grin, Xu Youyan tugged at Bo Zhoucheng’s collar, her fingers tightening slightly.
Bo Zhoucheng resignedly lifted her head, tilting her face to the side and offering her cheek and neck, allowing her girlfriend to indulge freely.
Lipstick marks dotted her cheeks and, without restraint, a few more were pressed onto her neck.
It made Bo Zhoucheng look as if she’d just stumbled out of some pleasure house.
Her hair was slightly disheveled, and her ears flushed a deep, almost bleeding red.
“Youyan, it’s just a punishment you’re going too far.”
Bo Zhoucheng felt that if she didn’t stop this soon, she’d end up completely covered in lipstick, like a painted cat.
Only then did Xu Youyan rein it in, pulling out her phone.
“Don’t move, don’t wipe it off yet I want to take a picture first.”
Without a moment’s hesitation, she pressed the shutter. The “click” echoed softly between them.
Bo Zhoucheng inwardly sighed, thinking that another embarrassing photo was about to be added to her collection. But there was nothing for it she loved Xu Youyan, after all.
Because she loved her, even the most willful antics felt endearing. She didn’t feel the slightest impatience.
“Can I post this on my Moments?”
Xu Youyan even thoughtfully added a few stickers to cover parts of the photo.
Bo Zhoucheng covered her face with one hand, slowly lowering her head, thinking that if this really got posted, she’d be mortified.
“Can you not post it?”
Bo Zhoucheng’s voice was soft, carrying a hint of protest, like a husband firmly under his wife’s thumb.
Xu Youyan lowered her head in thought. She didn’t have any ulterior motive for posting it she just wanted to show off a little. But if Bo Zhoucheng wasn’t comfortable with it, she wouldn’t force the issue.
“Alright.”
Just as Xu Youyan was about to tap delete, her finger slipped and hit “send” instead.
Although she quickly deleted it, given the level of attention top-tier celebrities receive, it was highly likely that some people had already seen the photo.
“I just.”
Xu Youyan felt extremely guilty.
“If it’s already been sent, then it’s already been sent.”
Bo Zhoucheng felt as though she had completely embarrassed herself in public.
