The Cold and Distant Actress is Too Obsessive - Chapter 36
Since she had rested early the night before, Xu Youyan woke up feeling refreshed and clear-headed. However, Bo Zhoucheng, having taken care of her father for several days, was still somewhat fatigued. The faint dark circles under her eyes had yet to fade.
“Bo Zhoucheng.”
Xu Youyan leaned over her shoulder, calling out softly in a gentle voice. Bo Zhoucheng didn’t open her eyes, sleeping deeply.
Seeing her so sound asleep, Xu Youyan’s courage suddenly surged. She pressed her fingertip against the tip of Bo Zhoucheng’s nose.
Bo Zhoucheng had a mole on her nose, exceptionally beautiful, but it would be covered up with makeup, so only those close to her could see it. Probably, many of her fans didn’t even know about it.
Xu Youyan propped herself up slightly with both hands, looking down at Bo Zhoucheng from above. Then she leaned in, her hair brushing against her cheeks, bringing a faint, tingling itch.
Xu Youyan shamelessly teased that mole, watching as a blush spread across the other’s cheeks.
She nodded with satisfaction.
Just as she was about to tease a little more, her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
“Yanyan, what are you doing?”
Why was Xu Youyan acting like a cat, stepping all over her owner’s face just because she hadn’t gotten up yet?
“Nothing.”
Xu Youyan felt a bit guilty. How could she admit she had just been stealing a kiss?
“You’re lying to me.”
Bo Zhoucheng frowned slightly, not particularly angry. Instead, she suddenly lifted her head and, catching Xu Youyan off guard, pressed her cool lips against Xu Youyan’s warm ones.
Xu Youyan’s shoulders were pinned down, and she felt as if the world had turned upside down, the ceiling spinning above her.
She fell back onto the pillow, which was filled with Bo Zhoucheng’s cool fragrance.
Just as Bo Zhoucheng was about to succeed, Xu Youyan guiltily closed her eyes, thinking that being punished by her for a little while probably wouldn’t be so bad.
At worst, she could just apply some ointment to the corner of her mouth.
But just then, the bedroom door sounded.
Bo’s mother was planning to visit her husband at the hospital today. She had intended to go after breakfast but noticed the housekeeper hesitating.
“What’s wrong?”
“Speak up if you have something to say.”
Bo’s mother was puzzled.
“Madam, the young lady came back yesterday and brought a woman with her.”
“What?”
Bo’s mother’s eyes widened slightly. Didn’t Bo Zhoucheng already have a partner? How could she just bring a woman home so casually? She had never taught her daughter to behave like this.
Thinking this, she immediately put down her fork and stormed up to the second floor.
Seeing that there was no movement in the room and the door wasn’t locked, Bo’s mother unceremoniously pushed it open.
Looking at the bed, it indeed seemed like two people were lying there.
Bo’s mother felt her hair stand on end. Xu Youyan, Zhou Lianghui her daughter’s messy, tangled love life.
“Bo Zhoucheng, how can you do this to Xu Youyan?”
“And you even brought a woman home!”
The angry shout startled both of them. Xu Youyan pushed back the covers, her dark hair cascading over her cheeks. Bo’s mother couldn’t see her face clearly at first and, in her fury, was about to reach out, but her hand was caught by someone else.
“Mom.”
“It’s Yanyan.”
Bo Zhoucheng sounded helpless but was inwardly relieved she had managed to stop her mother in time.
“How can that be?”
“Wasn’t she still filming.”
Bo’s mother froze, watching as the person in front of her brushed her hair aside, revealing that innocent face. Who else could it be but Xu Youyan?
“I came by plane.”
“I’ve already visited Uncle.”
Xu Youyan’s heart was still racing, nearly frightened by Bo’s mother’s fierce expression just moments before.
“Auntie, hello.”
She lowered her head, feeling a bit embarrassed deep down. After all, it was her who had clung to Bo Zhoucheng relentlessly even following her home to visit her sick father.
So clingy.
“So it’s you. I thought it was someone else.”
Bo’s mother smiled awkwardly as well and didn’t linger any longer, turning to leave the room.
“Seems like your mom still thinks you’re a bit of a player.”
Xu Youyan teased lightly before getting up to start her day. Since Bo Zhoucheng had managed to secure her an extra day, she intended to make the most of it.
Although the two still went to the hospital to accompany Bo’s father, compared to their initially somewhat distant relationship, Xu Youyan had made an effort to get closer to Bo Zhoucheng’s parents.
She was charming and sweet-tongued, often making everyone laugh.
However, by evening, Xu Youyan had to board her flight back. Bo Zhoucheng couldn’t help but feel reluctant to let her go.
Cheng Zhun was sent to sit in the front passenger seat of the car, and Bo Zhoucheng decisively lowered the partition.
Suddenly, the car cabin was just the two of them.
“You’re going back.”
Bo Zhoucheng’s eyelashes fluttered slightly as she finally spoke. She didn’t want her to leave like this, but she had to stay with her father, so all she could do was see her off.
“Remember to take good care of yourself.”
Bo Zhoucheng spoke softly, but Xu Youyan looked up into her eyes and suddenly leaned closer, brushing aside the strands of hair that had fallen over her shoulders.
“I know you don’t want to talk about this.”
“Right now,”
“We should do what people really do when they say goodbye.”
Xu Youyan had never been in a relationship before, but she had read countless comics where the protagonists shared a passionate, lingering kiss before parting.
So, imitating the heroines from those stories, she lifted her slender, pale arm and gently wrapped it around Bo Zhoucheng’s neck.
“Remember to miss me.”
Xu Youyan leaned in, but it was just a brief, light kiss.
Yet, the faint fragrance of Bo Zhoucheng’s fruity lipstick lingered between their lips.
“Remember to message me.”
Xu Youyan drew near again, her breath as gentle as an orchid.
Bo Zhoucheng leaned back against the car seat, her heart in turmoil. She couldn’t believe how alluring her Yan Yan had become.
Before, she was just someone who loved to act cute, but now she could make Bo Zhoucheng’s heart flutter uncontrollably.
“I know.”
Bo Zhoucheng nodded, committing both requests to memory.
“And one more thing.”
“I love you,”
“Bo Zhoucheng.”
Xu Youyan rarely spoke sweet words, but when she did, they were utterly heart-stirring.
Bo Zhoucheng clenched her fingers tightly, suppressing the overwhelming emotions surging inside her, and nodded.
“I know.”
After saying goodbye to Xu Youyan, Bo Zhoucheng felt as if a part of her heart had been hollowed out.
She closed her eyes and leaned back against the car seat. Yan Yan trusted her so much she couldn’t let her down.
So, it was time to draw a clear line with Zhou Lianghui.
Although they had grown up together and shared a deep bond,
Zhou Lianghui’s feelings for their friendship had changed, and she couldn’t let it continue.
It wouldn’t be fair to Yan Yan.
Sacrificing friendship for love might sound like a foolish decision, but when the other person harbors inappropriate feelings, it’s best to cut ties decisively.
Bo Zhoucheng had always been emotionally detached by nature and didn’t particularly care about having friends.
Still, she felt a little sorry for Zhou Lianghui.
But there was no other way she loved Yan Yan more.
With a tap of her finger on the phone, Bo Zhouchen decided to resolve this matter during the last moments she had left with her father.
